ABSTRACT Background and Aims Methods Results Conclusions Metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is linked to various intrahepatic and extrahepatic diseases, but its association with severe infectious disease remains to be investigated.We analysed data from the Shanghai Suburban Adult Cohort and Biobank, encompassing participants enrolled in 2016 and 2017 with available abdominal ultrasonography data, and followed them up until December 2022 (median follow‐up = 5.71 years). We categorised the participants into the MASLD group and those without steatotic liver disease (non‐SLD). Multivariable‐adjusted Cox regression was used to estimate hazard ratios (HR) for severe infections in patients with MASLD compared to the non‐SLD group. Cumulative incidences were calculated while accounting for competing risks (non‐infection‐related deaths). Mediation analyses were performed to explore the roles of cardiometabolic risk factors in the association between MASLD and severe infections.Among the 33 072 eligible participants (mean age 56.37 years; 38.20% male), 11 908 (36.01%) were diagnosed with MASLD at baseline. Severe infections occurred in 912 (7.66%) MASLD patients and 1258 (5.94%) non‐SLD. The rate of severe infections per 1000 person‐years was higher in MASLD patients (13.58) than in comparators (10.48) (fully adjusted HR 1.18, 95% CI 1.07–1.30). The most frequent infections in MASLD were respiratory (7.25/1000 person‐years) and urinary tract infections (2.61/1000 person‐years). The 5‐year cumulative incidence of severe infections was 6.79% (95% CI 6.36–7.26) in MASLD and 5.08% (95% CI 4.79–5.38) in comparators. Cardiometabolic risk factors, including waist circumference, triglycerides and HbA1C, partially mediate the association between MASLD and severe infections.Patients with MASLD were at significantly higher risk of incident severe infections compared to the non‐SLD group. Polysulfonamide (PSA), with its chemical stability and acid‐resistance, is seen as a potential material for reverse osmosis. However, the present PSA thin film composite membranes fabricated via prevailing interfacial polymerization (IP) approach generally exhibited nonfavored desalination performance. In this work, PSA membrane was assembled via spinning‐assist layer‐by‐layer (sLbL) on a poly(vinyl alcohol) modified polyethersulfone substrate. Fabrication was carried out through sequential interfacial reaction between naphthalene‐1,3,6‐trisufonylchloride and piperazine by alternately dipping and drying the substrate in two monomer phases. Morphology, chemical composition, surface charge distribution as well as surface hydrophilicity were investigated as a function of repeated cycles. The sLbL assembly approach implemented facile control over membrane properties with well‐organized selective layer thickness growth and twofold to threefold reduced surface roughness. As measured from spectroscopic ellipsometry, the sLbL assembled membranes exhibited a linear thickness growth at ~2.72 nm per layer. Performance test indicated that the salt rejection and water flux showed a trade‐off pattern with increasing layer number. The PSA membrane with five layers showed a preferable NaCl rejection of 95.7 ± 0.4% with a water flux of 12.4 ± 0.9 L m−2 h−1 at 10 bar, whereas the IP membrane exhibited only 58% and a 22.12 L m−2 h−1 flux. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Transcription initiation has long been considered a primary regulatory step in gene expression. Recent work, however, shows that downstream events, such as transcription elongation, can also play important roles. 1–3 A well-characterized example from animals is promoter-proximal pausing, where transcriptionally engaged Pol II accumulates 30–50 bp downstream of the transcription start site (TSS) and is thought to enable rapid gene activation. 2 Plants do not make widespread use of promoter-proximal pausing; however, in a phenomenon known as 3′ pausing, a significant increase in Pol II is observed near the transcript end site (TES) of many genes. 4–6 Previous work has shown that 3′ pausing is promoted by the BORDER (BDR) family of negative transcription elongation factors. Here we show that BDR proteins play key roles in gene repression. Consistent with BDR proteins acting to slow or pause elongating Pol II, BDR-repressed genes are characterized by high levels of Pol II occupancy, yet low levels of mRNA. The BDR proteins physically interact with FPA, 7 one of approximately two dozen genes collectively referred to as the autonomous floral-promotion pathway, 8 which are necessary for the repression of the flowering time gene FLOWERING LOCUS C (FLC). 9–11 In early-flowering strains, FLC expression is repressed by repressive histone modifications, such as histone H3 lysine 27 trimethylation (H3K27me3), thereby allowing the plants to flower early. • Heterogeneous fibrous Fe 2 P and nt-Fe 2 P particles are embedded inside ε-Cu matrix. • TiB 2 as inoculant can refine and disperse fibrous Fe 2 P and nt-Fe 2 P particles. • TiB 2 -nanotwin enhanced hardness and wear resistance of Cu-based composite. • Fine-grain, dispersion, TBs, and precipitation strengthening were combined. • Wear mechanism includes abrasive wear, oxidation wear, and adhesive wear. To restrain the collision and coarsening of Fe-rich droplets within supercooled Cu-Fe immiscible melt, the TiB 2 particles as inoculants are introduced to produce the TiB 2 and Fe 2 P with nanotwins-reinforced Cu-based immiscible composites by selective laser melting (SLM). The Cu-based immiscible composite with heterogeneous structure is characterized by nano-/micro-scale Fe 2 P particles and micron fibrous Fe 2 P dispersed within the ε-Cu matrix. Moreover, some nanotwinned Cu (nt-Cu) particles and a high density of nanotwins are embedded within these nano-scale Fe 2 P particles, whereas some irregular α-Fe precipitated within these fibrous Fe 2 P. The addition of TiB 2 particles can refine the size of Fe 2 P and promote their homogeneous distribution within the ε-Cu matrix. As a result, the hardness and wear resistance of the TiB 2 reinforced Cu-based immiscible composite are significantly improved by the combined strengthening mechanisms of twin boundaries (TBs) strengthening, refinement strengthening, dispersion strengthening and precipitation strengthening. The development of interfacial polymerization (IP) technique has revolutionarily changed our methods for water treatment and desalination. Over decades, researchers have devoted their efforts to further improve this marvelous technology through versatile approaches such as optimizing chemical compositions, improving membrane structures and reducing the thickness of selective layers. Recently, constructing interlayers on a support membrane is proven to be a powerful tool to mediate the IP kinetics, which facilitates the formation of thinner polyamide (PA) layers with desired nanostructures. Decreased permeation resistance based on thinner PA layer and enhanced permeable area derived from nanostructures synergistically bring the membrane permeability to an unprecedented height. In this review, we will comprehensively analyze these up-to-date works to discuss the functions of different interlayers from material composition, fabrication methods and designed applications. An empirical relationship between interlayer building materials (chemical composition and dimensionality on a nanoscale) and initial membrane performances (permeability and selectivity) will be established to give inspirations to future works. To select the reasonable spot size during laser powder deposition (LPD), the homogeneous Cu90Fe10 immiscible composites were produced by LPD with different spot sizes (2 mm and 4 mm in diameter). The LPD-produced Cu90Fe10 immiscible composites deposited with different spot sizes display a similar microstructure composed of α-Fe/γ-Fe and ε-Cu phases. A large amount of nanoscale Fe-rich particles is uniformly embedded within the Cu-rich matrix and the Cu-rich particles with nanotwins are distributed within the Fe-rich particles due to secondary liquid phase separation (SLPS). Moreover, some nanoscale FeCr grains (∼20 nm) are precipitated within the Fe-rich particles. Both the averaged diameter and grain size of Fe-rich particles reduce with decreasing the spot size due to higher cooling rate. The immiscible composite produced with spot size of 2 mm exhibits higher microhardness and elastic modulus (1.9 GPa and 143.5 GPa respectively) than the corresponding ones for the counterpart with spot size of 4 mm (1.8 GPa and 142.6 GPa respectively) and Brass. As a result, the LPD-produced Cu90Fe10 immiscible composite deposited with spot size of 2 mm exhibits higher wear and corrosion resistance compared to that deposited with spot size of 4 mm. Background: Fatigue is the most common symptom in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) patients. Many fatigue instruments have been used in SLE, with Fatigue Severity Scale (FSS) mostly adopted. However, fatigue instruments haven't been tested in the Chinese SLE population. The aim of our study was to test the psychometric properties of FSS in Chinese SLE patients.Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted. 201 patients diagnosed with SLE were enrolled in the study with convenience sampling. Fatigue score, depression score and vitality subscale score of SF-36 were collected. Floor and ceiling effects were tested. Factor analysis was conducted. Reliability and validity of FSS were also tested.Results: Floor (4.50%) and ceiling (4.00%) effects were minimal. One factor was extracted, explaining 61.80% of total variance. When item1 and item 2 were deleted, one factor explained 69.54% of variance, and Cronbach's Alpha increased from 0.92 to 0.93. Intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) was 0.94. Fatigue correlated with both depression (r = 0.52, P < 0.01) and vitality (r = - 0.55, P < 0.01), indicating acceptable construct validity for original FSS. When item 1 and 2 were removed, the correlation coefficient between 7-item FSS and vitality increased (r = - 0.58, P < 0.01), while correlation coefficient between 7-item FSS and depression remained the same (r = 0.52, P < 0.01). Known-groups validity was verified by that patients with depression showed higher fatigue score both for 9-item (Z = -5.56, P < 0.001) and 7-item FSS (Z = -5.70, P < 0.001).Conclusions: 9-item FSS is a reliable instrument and can be used to assess fatigue problem in Chinese SLE patients, and 7-item FSS also demonstrated good psychometric properties in the same participants. Background: The referral service is a significant component of healthcare reform in China, and the measurement of patient satisfaction with the referral service process will help to improve the quality of referral medical delivery. Furthermore, the referral service in China includes inter-institutional collaborations between hospitals at different levels and multi-nodes throughout the referral process. It is therefore necessary to identify the key nodes that affect patient satisfaction during the referral service process.Methods: This study conducted a questionnaire survey of 110 patients to collect data regarding patient satisfaction at the following healthcare nodes: primary-level hospital, referral appointment registration, claim of appointment number in the outpatient department, examination service, admission service, and overall satisfaction during the referral service process. Correlation analysis and logistic regression methods were used to establish a mathematical model of patient satisfaction between five nodes and overall satisfaction. Additionally, a peak-end model was formed to identify the peak node impacting overall patient satisfaction during the referral service based on the sample data.Results: Over 80% of referral patients rated the overall referral service as 'good'. The correlation analysis revealed that there was a significant correlation between the satisfaction of each node and the overall satisfaction (P < 0.05). The results of the regression model showed that the satisfaction of five nodes determined the overall satisfaction and that "admission service at the higher-level hospital" exerted the greatest impact on overall satisfaction (β = 0.312), while "referral appointment registration" had the lowest influence on overall satisfaction (β = 0.177). The peak-end model also revealed that "admission service at the higher-level hospital" had a greater effect on overall satisfaction.Conclusion: Our study showed that the key nodes affecting patient satisfaction were "transferring service at the primary-level hospital" and "admission service at the higher-level hospital". Furthermore, the efficacy of the referral services is determined by the gatekeepers' management of the referral system at the primary-level hospital and the allocation and management of bed resources at the higher-level hospital. Maize rough dwarf disease, caused by rice black-streaked dwarf virus (RBSDV), is a devastating disease in maize (Zea mays L.). MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are known to play critical roles in regulation of plant growth, development, and adaptation to abiotic and biotic stresses. To elucidate the roles of miRNAs in the regulation of maize in response to RBSDV, we employed high-throughput sequencing technology to analyze the miRNAome and transcriptome following RBSDV infection. A total of 76 known miRNAs, 226 potential novel miRNAs and 351 target genes were identified. Our dataset showed that the expression patterns of 81 miRNAs changed dramatically in response to RBSDV infection. Transcriptome analysis showed that 453 genes were differentially expressed after RBSDV infection. GO, COG and KEGG analysis results demonstrated that genes involved with photosynthesis and metabolism were significantly enriched. In addition, twelve miRNA-mRNA interaction pairs were identified, and six of them were likely to play significant roles in maize response to RBSDV. This study provided valuable information for understanding the molecular mechanism of maize disease resistance, and could be useful in method development to protect maize against RBSDV. Background: Steatotic liver disease (SLD) is influenced by both genetics and lifestyle factors, with lifestyle effects varying by genetic susceptibility. We aimed to evaluate gene-lifestyle interactions on SLD risk., Methods: We included 28,215 UK Biobank participants with available data. Predictors were healthy lifestyle patterns, PNPLA3-rs738409, TM6SF2-rs58542926, a 16-variant hepatic steatosis polygenic risk score (PRS), and gene-environment interactions. Primary outcome was liver fat content (LFC); secondary outcomes were cT1 (a measure of liver inflammation/fibrosis) and SLD-related events., Results: Lifestyle predictors, except smoking, reduced LFC, while genetic predictors increased it. Genetic predictors significantly interacted with healthy lifestyle patterns, sedentary behavior and social connection. Lifestyle effects on lower LFC were up to 6.3-fold stronger in PNPLA3-rs738409-GG vs. -CC individuals, and 1.5-7.0 times higher in the top vs. bottom PRS quartile. PRS and PNPLA3 also interacted with alcohol consumption, diet, and PNPLA3 further interacted with physical activity. These interactions were more pronounced in overweight participants. Background and Aims: The complications of liver cirrhosis occur after long asymptomatic stages of progressive fibrosis and are generally diagnosed late. We aimed to develop a plasma metabolomic-based score tool to predict these events., Approach and Results: We enrolled 64,005 UK biobank participants with metabolomic profiles. Participants were randomly divided into the training (n=43,734) and validation cohorts (n=20,271). Liver cirrhosis complications were defined as hospitalization for liver cirrhosis or presentation with HCC. An interpretable machine-learning framework was applied to learn the metabolomic states extracted from 168 circulating metabolites in the training cohort. An integrated nomogram was developed and compared to conventional and genetic risk scores. We created 3 groups: low-risk, middle-risk, and high-risk through selected cutoffs of the nomogram. The predictive performance was validated through the area under a time-dependent receiver operating characteristic curve (time-dependent AUC), calibration curves, and decision curve analysis. The metabolomic state model could accurately predict the 10-year risk of liver cirrhosis complications in the training cohort (time-dependent AUC: 0.84 [95% CI: 0.82-0.86]), and outperform the fibrosis-4 index (time-dependent AUC difference: 0.06 [0.03-0.10]) and polygenic risk score (0.25 [0.21-0.29]). The nomogram, integrating metabolomic state, aspartate aminotransferase, platelet count, waist/hip ratio, and smoking status showed a time-dependent AUC of 0.930 at 3 years, 0.889 at 5 years, and 0.861 at 10 years in the validation cohort, respectively. Background and Purpose: Hepatoblastoma is the most common primary liver cancer in children, yet comprehensive understanding of its epidemiology is limited globally. We aimed to estimate the global trend of hepatoblastoma in children from 1990 to 2021., Methods: We collected data on hepatoblastoma in children aged 0 to 10 years from 1990 to 2021, derived from Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2021. Three disease burden indicators, including incidence, mortality, and disability-adjusted life-years (DALYs), were studied. The corresponding average annual percentage changes (AAPCs) were used to explore the temporal trends of hepatoblastoma., Results: In 2021, hepatoblastoma accounted for 4048 incident cases, 2416 deaths, and 213,478 DALYs globally. Incidence, mortality, and DALYs of hepatoblastoma decreased significantly from 1990 to 2021, with AAPCs of -2.12, -2.53, and -2.53. The highest incidence of hepatoblastoma was observed among those aged < 28 days in 2021 (2.57 per 100,000 individuals). Only high-income region showed an upward trend in incidence from 1990 to 2021, with an AAPC of 0.57. The Western Pacific region had the fastest decrease in the incidence, mortality, and DALY rate of hepatoblastoma. Human development level (HDI) was positively associated with the AAPC in incidence from 1990 to 2021, while HDI was negatively associated with the incidence, mortality, and DALY rate of hepatoblastoma in 2021., Conclusion: Global efforts over the past 3 decades have substantially decreased the disease burden of hepatoblastoma in children. However, increases in the incidence of hepatoblastoma in high-income region merit attention. The highest disease burden of hepatoblastoma was observed in the neonatal period. The accurate protein-protein separation is important but technically challenging. Achieving such a precise separation using membrane requires the selective channels with appropriate pore geometry structure and high anti-fouling property. In this study, polyethersulfone-b-poly(sulfobetaine methyl methacrylate) (PES-b-PSBMA) was synthesized and engineered onto polysulfone (PSF) ultrafiltration (UF) membrane to fabricate zwitterionic nanospheres engineered co-polymer (ZN-e-CoP) composite membrane via dynamic self-assembly micelle deposition. On the one hand, self-assembly zwitterionic nanospheres were used as blocks to construct hydrophilic layers with size-dependent sieving channels, endowing ZN-e-CoP composite membranes with enhanced permselectivity and protein-protein separation abilities, meanwhile zwitterionic groups from nanospheres reinforced the structure stability of nanospheres/nanospheres and nanospheres/membrane via multiple intermolecular interactions. On the other hand, zwitterionic nanospheres can induce to produce the hydration layer enveloping themselves by binding water molecules, where hydration layer acts as a protective barrier on the membrane surface, impeding the protein adhesion. Hence, ZN-e-CoP&#95;1a composite membrane exhibited superior separation properties with Lysozyme/Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) separation factor of 18.1 and 95.4 % rejection against BSA, 10.1 and 2.3 times, respectively, higher these of pristine PSF membrane (1.8 and 42.1 %), without obviously sacrificing water flux. Simultaneously, hydration layer enables the ZN-e-CoP&#95;1a membrane with enhanced anti-fouling performance and durability during the long-term operations. Nanoconfined interlayer channels in two-dimensional (2D) laminates are promising for the construction of novel permselective membranes. Controlling the interlayer spacing and modifying the interlayer chemical microenvironment are effective for high-efficiency separation. However, manipulating ion-diffusion energy barriers in confined channels is challenging, and their role in selective water-ion transport is unclear. This study engineered sodium-ion traps (SITs) in confined graphene oxide (GO) interlayer channels by incorporating N -phenylaza-15-crown-5 (NPCE) to regulate the ion-diffusion energy barriers. Partial reduction of GO enhanced membrane stability and enabled precise adjustment of interlayer spacing, while the addition of NPCE further constricted the free space and entrapped sodium ions by increasing their transport energy barriers. The optimized membrane with NPCE-dominated SITs achieved mono/monovalent-ion efficient sieving (K + /Na + ≈ 10.2, and Li + /Na + ≈ 6.7) and rejection of Na 2 SO 4 (∼99.0%) and NaCl (∼90.0%), while maintaining stable performance for >1500 h. The findings provide new insights into manipulating transport energy barriers and modifying other 2D material laminates.

Background The growth habit (GH), also named the branching habit, is an important agronomic trait of peanut and mainly determined by the lateral branch angle (LBA). The branching habit is closely related to peanut mechanized farming, pegging, yield, and disease management. Objectives However, the molecular basis underlying peanut LBA needs to be uncovered. Methods In the present study, an erect branching peanut mutant, eg06g , was obtained via 60 Co γ-ray-radiating mutagenesis of a spreading-type peanut cultivar, Georgia-06G (G06G). RNA-seq was performed to compare the transcriptome variation of the upper sides and lower sides of the lateral branch of eg06g and G06G. Results In total, 4908 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and 5833 DEGs were identified between eg06g and G06G from the lower sides and upper sides of the lateral branch, respectively. GO, KEGG, and clustering enrichment analysis indicated that the carbohydrate metabolic process, cell wall organization or biogenesis, and plant hormone signal transduction were mainly enriched in eg06g . Conclusions Further analysis showed that the genes involved in starch biosynthesis were upregulated in eg06g , which contributed to amyloplast sedimentation and gravity perception. Auxin homeostasis and transport-related genes were found to be upregulated in eg06g , which altered the redistribution of auxin in eg06g and in turn triggered apoplastic acidification and activated cell wall modification-related enzymes, leading to tiller angle establishment through the promotion of cell elongation at the lower side of the lateral branch. In addition, cytokinin and GA also demonstrated synergistic action to finely regulate the formation of peanut lateral branch angles. Collectively, our findings provide new insights into the molecular regulation of peanut LBA and present genetic materials for breeding peanut cultivars with ideotypes.

Background & Aims: The role of circulating polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) in preventing liver cirrhosis complications remains unclear., Methods: Between 2006 and 2010, 273,834 UK Biobank participants with plasma PUFA quantification data were enrolled and followed up until October 31, 2022. Plasma PUFAs were quantified using a high-throughput nuclear magnetic resonance-based metabolic profiling platform. Liver cirrhosis complications were defined as hospitalization for liver cirrhosis or presentation with hepatocellular carcinoma., Results: During a median follow-up of 13.9 years, 2026 participants developed liver cirrhosis complications. Total plasma PUFAs, omega-3 PUFAs, docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), omega-6 PUFAs, and linoleic acid (LA) were inversely associated with the risk of liver cirrhosis complications, whereas the plasma omega-6/omega-3 ratio was positively associated. Nonparametrically restricted cubic spline regression showed nonlinear associations of plasma PUFAs with liver cirrhosis complications. The inflection points were 4.78 mmol/L for total PUFAs, 0.73 mmol/L for omega-3 PUFAs, 0.25 mmol/L for DHA, 4.07 mmol/L for omega-6 PUFAs, and 2.99 mmol/L for LA. Objective: Frozen shoulder (FS) is a painful and debilitating condition affecting the shoulder joint. When patients fail to improve after conservative treatments, operative treatments including arthroscopic capsular release (ACR) and manipulation under anesthesia (MUA) are recommended. However, the comparison between these two interventions remains controversial. This study aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of ACR and MUA for refractory FS., Methods: A systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science were searched for eligible studies until December 10, 2023. Meta-analyses were conducted using Manager V.5.3.3. Pooled effect sizes were expressed as the weighted mean difference (WMD) or odds ratio (OR) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs)., Results: A total of eight comparative studies with 768 patients were included. Compared with MUA, ACR had statistically better Δ VAS (WMD, -0.44; 95% CI, -0.71 to -0.18; I 2  = 6%; p = 0.001) at over 12-month follow-up, which did not reach the minimal clinically important difference (MCID). Other outcomes regarding pain relief, function, and range of motion (ROM) improvements were not statistically different between the two groups at different follow-up timepoints. Compared with the MUA group, the ACR group had a significantly higher rate of severe complications (OR, 4.14; 95% CI, 1.01 to 16.94; I2 = 0%; p = 0.05), but comparable rates of mild complications and additional intervention., Conclusions: In treating refractory FS, ACR demonstrated comparable pain relief, functional and ROM improvements, rates of mild complications and additional intervention but a higher risk of severe complications to MUA during short-term follow-up periods. Key Message: Twenty-eight QTLs for LLS disease resistance were identified using an amphidiploid constructed mapping population, a favorable 530-kb chromosome segment derived from wild species contributes to the LLS resistance. Late leaf spot (LLS) is one of the major foliar diseases of peanut, causing serious yield loss and affecting the quality of kernel and forage. Some wild Arachis species possess higher resistance to LLS as compared with cultivated peanut; however, ploidy level differences restrict utilization of wild species. In this study, a synthetic amphidiploid (Ipadur) of wild peanuts with high LLS resistance was used to cross with Tifrunner to construct TI population. In total, 200 recombinant inbred lines were collected for whole-genome resequencing. A high-density bin-based genetic linkage map was constructed, which includes 4,809 bin markers with an average inter-bin distance of 0.43 cM. The recombination across cultivated and wild species was unevenly distributed, providing a novel recombination landscape for cultivated-wild Arachis species. Using phenotyping data collected across three environments, 28 QTLs for LLS disease resistance were identified, explaining 4.35-20.42% of phenotypic variation. The major QTL located on chromosome 14, qLLS14.1, could be consistently detected in 2021 Jiyang and 2022 Henan with 20.42% and 12.12% PVE, respectively. A favorable 530-kb chromosome segment derived from Ipadur was identified in the region of qLLS14.1, in which 23 disease resistance proteins were located and six of them showed significant sequence variations between Tifrunner and Ipadur. Allelic variation analysis indicating the 530-kb segment of wild species might contribute to the disease resistance of LLS. Background: Gibberellins (GAs) play important roles in regulating peanut growth and development. GA20ox and GA3ox are key enzymes involved in GA biosynthesis. These enzymes encoded by a multigene family belong to the 2OG-Fe (II) oxygenase superfamily. To date, no genome-wide comparative analysis of peanut AhGA20ox and AhGA3ox -encoding genes has been performed, and the roles of these genes in peanut pod development are not clear., Methods: A whole-genome analysis of AhGA20ox and AhGA3ox gene families in peanut was carried out using bioinformatic tools. The expression of these genes at different stage of pod development was analyzed using qRT-PCR., Results: In this study, a total of 15 AhGA20ox and five AhGA3ox genes were identified in peanut genome, which were distributed on 14 chromosomes. Phylogenetic analysis divided the GA20oxs and GA3oxs into three groups, but AhGA20oxs and AhGA3oxs in two groups. The conserved pattern of gene structure, cis-elements, and protein motifs further confirmed their evolutionary relationship in peanut. AhGA20ox and AhGA3ox genes were differential expressed at different stages of pod development. The strong expression of AhGA20ox1/AhGA20ox4 , AhGA20ox12/AhGA20ox15 , AhGA3ox1 and AhGA3ox4/AhGA3ox5 in S1-stage indicated that these genes could have a key role in controlling peg elongation. Furthermore, AhGA20ox and AhGA3ox also showed diverse expression patterns in different peanut tissues including leaves, main stems, flowers and inflorescences. Noticeably, AhGA20ox9/AhGA20ox11 and AhGA3o4/AhGA3ox5 were highly expressed in the main stem, whereas the AhGA3ox1 and AhGA20ox10 were strongly expressed in the inflorescence. The expression levels of AhGA20ox2/AhGA20ox3 , AhGA20ox5/AhGA20ox6 , AhGA20ox7/AhGA20ox8 , AhGA20ox13/AhGA20ox14 and AhGA3ox2/AhGA3ox3 were high in the flowers, suggesting their involvement in flower development. Cytochrome P450s (CYPs) constitute extensive enzyme superfamilies in the plants, playing pivotal roles in a multitude of biosynthetic and detoxification pathways essential for growth and development, such as the flavonoid biosynthesis pathway. However, CYPs have not yet been systematically studied in the cultivated peanuts ( Arachis hypogaea L.), a globally significant cash crop. This study addresses this knowledge deficit through a comprehensive genome-wide analysis, leading to the identification of 589 AhCYP genes in peanuts. Through phylogenetic analysis, all AhCYPs were systematically classified into 9 clans, 43 gene families. The variability in the number of gene family members suggests specialization in biological functions. Intriguingly, both tandem duplication and fragment duplication events have emerged as pivotal drivers in the evolutionary expansion of the AhCYP superfamily. Ka/Ks analysis underscored the substantial influence of strong purifying selection on the evolution of AhCYPs . Furthermore, we selected 21 genes encoding 8 enzymes associated with the flavonoid pathway. The results of quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) experiments unveiled stage-specific expression patterns during the development of peanut testa, with discernible variations between pink and red testa. Importantly, we identified a direct correlation between gene expression levels and the accumulation of metabolites. These findings offer valuable insights into elucidating the comprehensive functions of AhCYPs and the underlying mechanisms governing the divergent accumulation of flavonoids in testa of different colors.

Objective: To investigate the relationship between social support and quality of life of Chinese migrant workers and to explore the mediating role of healthy lifestyles in social support and quality of life., Methods: Using a stratified multi-stage sampling method, 1, 298 migrant workers and 983 urban workers across 110 neighborhood committees in five economic development zones in eastern China were surveyed. The social support level of participants was quantified using the Social Support Rating Scale, and quality of life was evaluated using the SF-8. Healthy lifestyle was evaluated based on a combination of sleep, smoking, alcohol consumption, and exercise. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to assess the relationship between quality of life and social support. Stepwise regression was used to analyze the mediating effect of healthy lifestyle, social support, and quality of life among migrant workers., Results: Total SSRS and total SF-8 scores of migrant workers were significantly higher than those of urban workers ( P < 0.001). After controlling for confounders, social support showed an independent positive association with quality of life for both migrant (β = 0.50, P < 0.05) and urban workers (β = 0.62, P < 0.05). Mediation effect analysis revealed that healthy lifestyle partially mediated the relation between social support and quality of life of migrant workers with a mediation effect of 0.07, accounting for 11.70% of the total effect., Conclusions: This study showed a significant correlation between social support and quality of life of Chinese migrant workers, with healthy lifestyle playing a mediating role. Background: Testa color is an important trait of peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) which is closely related with the nutritional and commercial value. Pink and red are main color of peanut testa. However, the genetic mechanism of testa color regulation in peanut is not fully understood. To elucidate a clear picture of peanut testa regulatory model, samples of pink cultivar (Y9102), red cultivar (ZH12), and two RNA pools (bulk red and bulk pink) constructed from F 4 lines of Y9102 x ZH12 were compared through a bulk RNA-seq approach., Results: A total of 2992 differential expressed genes (DEGs) were identified among which 317 and 1334 were up-regulated and 225 and 1116 were down-regulated in the bulk red-vs-bulk pink RNA pools and Y9102-vs-ZH12, respectively. KEGG analysis indicates that these genes were divided into significantly enriched metabolic pathways including phenylpropanoid, flavonoid/anthocyanin, isoflavonoid and lignin biosynthetic pathways. Notably, the expression of the anthocyanin upstream regulatory genes PAL, CHS, and CHI was upregulated in pink and red testa peanuts, indicating that their regulation may occur before to the advent of testa pigmentation. However, the differential expression of down-stream regulatory genes including F3H, DFR, and ANS revealed that deepening of testa color not only depends on their gene expression bias, but also linked with FLS inhibition. In addition, the down-regulation of HCT, IFS, HID, 7-IOMT, and I2'H genes provided an alternative mechanism for promoting anthocyanin accumulation via perturbation of lignin and isoflavone pathways. Furthermore, the co-expression module of MYB, bHLH, and WRKY transcription factors also suggested a fascinating transcriptional activation complex, where MYB-bHLH could utilize WRKY as a co-option during the testa color regulation by augmenting anthocyanin biosynthesis in peanut., Conclusions: These findings reveal candidate functional genes and potential strategies for the manipulation of anthocyanin biosynthesis to improve peanut varieties with desirable testa color., (© 2023. AhFAD2 is a key enzyme catalyzing the conversion of oleic acid into linoleic acid. The high oleic acid characteristic of peanut mainly comes from the homozygous recessive mutation of AhFAD2A and AhFAD2B genes (aabb). However, even in high-oleic-acid varieties with the aabb genotype, the oleic acid content of seeds with different maturity varies significantly. Therefore, in addition to AhFAD2A and AhFAD2B , other FAD2 members or regulators may be involved in this process. Which FAD2 genes are involved in the regulatory processes associated with seed maturity is still unclear. In this study, four stable lines with different genotypes (AABB, aaBB, AAbb, and aabb) were used to analyze the contents of oleic acid and linoleic acid at different stages of seed development in peanut. Three new AhFAD2 genes ( AhFAD2-7 , AhFAD2-8 , and AhFAD2-9 ) were cloned based on the whole-genome sequencing results of cultivated peanuts. All peanut FAD2 genes showed tissue preference in expression; however, only the expression level of AhFAD2-7 was positively correlated with the linoleic acid concentration in peanut seeds. These findings provide new insights into the regulation of oleic acid accumulation by maturity, and AhFAD2-7 plays an important role in the maturity dependent accumulation of oleic acid and linoleic acid in peanut.

Purpose: We designed this study to investigate the potential correlations between gut microbiota compositions and hepatic metabolomic disorders in mice with methotrexate (MTX)-induced hepatoxicity., Methods: We used MTX to induce hepatoxicity in healthy Kunming mice, and we determined plasma ALT and AST levels and assessed the liver tissue histopathology. We applied an integrated gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and 16S ribosomal RNA (rRNA) gene sequencing approach to evaluate the effects of MTX on the gut microbiota and hepatic metabolic profiles of mice. We uncovered correlations between the gut microbiota and hepatic metabolomic profiles by calculating the Spearman correlation coefficient., Results: MTX caused ALT and AST level elevations and hepatoxicity in our mouse model. MTX disrupted amino acid metabolic pathways (including biosyntheses of valine, leucine, and isoleucine; and arginine; and, metabolism of alanine, aspartate, and glutamate; histidine; beta-alanine; and glycine, serine, and threonine); biosyntheses of aminoacyl-tRNA; and pantothenate, and CoA; and, metabolic pathways of energy, glutathione, and porphyrin; and chlorophyll. In addition, MTX increased the abundances of Staphylococcus, Enterococcus, Collinsella, Streptococcus , and Aerococcus , but decreased the amounts of Lactobacillus, Ruminococcus, norank&#95;f&#95;Muribaculaceae, unclassified&#95;f&#95;Lachnospiraceae, norank&#95;f&#95;Lachnospiraceae, A2, Eubacterium&#95;xylanophilum&#95;group, Phascolarctobacterium, Bifidobacterium , and Faecalibaculum . Background and Purpose: Acylcarnitines (ACars) are important for insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes (T2D). However, their roles in diabetic retinopathy (DR) remain controversial. In this study, we aimed to investigate the association of ACars with DR and their values in DR detection., Methods: This was a two-center case-control study based on the propensity score matching approach between August 2017 to June 2018 in Eastern China. Multivariable logistic regression models were applied to estimate the association of plasma ACars with DR. Differential ACars were screened by models of least absolute shrinkage and selection operator, elastic net, and weighted quantile sum regression, and their roles in DR identification were further evaluated by the area under the receiver operating curve (AUC)., Results: Eight of twenty plasma ACars (8:0, 12:0, 12:1, 14:1, 16:2, 18:0, 18:2 and 18:3) were associated with DR, while only ACar 8:0 was selected by three variable selection methods. As compared to those with the 1 st tertile of ACar 8:0, the adjusted odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) of DR were 0.22 (0.08, 0.59) and 0.12 (0.04, 0.36) for subjects in the 2 nd and 3 rd tertiles, respectively (P for trend < 0.001). Consistent associations were also observed in both restricted cubic spline regression models and subgroup analyses. Salt stress could inhibit the growth and development of crops and negatively affect yield and quality. The objective of this study was to investigate the physiological responses of different asparagus cultivars to salt stress. Twenty days old seedlings ofasalt-tolerant Apollo andasalt-sensitive cultivar JL1 were subjected to 0 (CK) and120 mM NaCl stress for 20 d. Their changes in growth, ion contents, antioxidant enzyme activities and gene expression were analyzed. Salt stress significantly inhibited the growth of both cultivars, and JL1 showed a greater decrease than Apollo. The root development of Apollo was promoted by 120 mM NaCl treatment. The Na + content in roots, stems, and leaves of both cultivars was increased under salt stress, while K + content and K + /Na + decreased. The salt-tolerant cultivar Apollo showed less extent of increase in Na + and decrease in K + content and kept a relatively high K + /Na + ratio to compare with JL1. The contents of proline, soluble sugar and protein increased in Apollo, while thesesubstances changed differently in JL1 under salt stress. Activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD), and catalase (CAT) were gradually increased under salt stress in Apollo, while the corresponding enzyme activities in JL1 were decreased at the late stage of salt stress. The expression of SOD , POD , and CAT genes of both cultivars changed in a similar way to the enzyme activities. Malondialdehyde (MDA) content was increased slightly in Apollo, while increased significantly in JL1. At the late stage of salt stress, Apollomaintained a relatively high K + /Na + , osmotic adjustment ability and antioxidant defense capability, and therefore exhibited higher tolerance to salt stress than that of JL1.

Objective: Early identification of diabetic retinopathy (DR) is key to prioritizing therapy and preventing permanent blindness. This study aims to propose a machine learning model for DR early diagnosis using metabolomics and clinical indicators., Methods: From 2017 to 2018, 950 participants were enrolled from two affiliated hospitals of Wenzhou Medical University and Anhui Medical University. A total of 69 matched blocks including healthy volunteers, type 2 diabetes, and DR patients were obtained from a propensity score matching-based metabolomics study. UPLC-ESI-MS/MS system was utilized for serum metabolic fingerprint data. CART decision trees (DT) were used to identify the potential biomarkers. Finally, the nomogram model was developed using the multivariable conditional logistic regression models. The calibration curve, Hosmer-Lemeshow test, receiver operating characteristic curve, and decision curve analysis were applied to evaluate the performance of this predictive model., Results: The mean age of enrolled subjects was 56.7 years with a standard deviation of 9.2, and 61.4% were males. Based on the DT model, 2-pyrrolidone completely separated healthy controls from diabetic patients, and thiamine triphosphate (ThTP) might be a principal metabolite for DR detection. The developed nomogram model (including diabetes duration, systolic blood pressure and ThTP) shows an excellent quality of classification, with AUCs (95% CI) of 0.99 (0.97-1.00) and 0.99 (0.95-1.00) in training and testing sets, respectively. Furthermore, the predictive model also has a reasonable degree of calibration., Conclusions: The nomogram presents an accurate and favorable prediction for DR detection. Key Message: The candidate recessive gene AhRt2 responsible for red testa of peanut was identified through combined BSA-seq and linkage mapping approaches. The testa color of peanuts (Arachis hypogaea L.) is an important trait, and those with red testa are particularly popular owing to the high-anthocyanin content. However, the identification of genes underlying the regulation of the red testa trait in peanut are rarely reported. In order to fine map red testa gene, two F 2:4 populations were constructed through the cross of YZ9102 (pink testa) with ZH12 (red testa) and ZH2 (red testa). Genetic analysis indicated that red testa was controlled by a single recessive gene named as AhRt2 (Red testa gene 2). Using BSA-seq approach, AhRt2 was preliminary identified on chromosome 12, which was further mapped to a 530-kb interval using 220 recombinant lines through linkage mapping. Furthermore, functional annotation, expression profiling, and the analyses of sequence variation confirmed that the anthocyanin reductase namely (Arahy.IK60LM) was the most likely candidate gene for AhRt2. It was found that a SNP in the third exon of AhRt2 altered the encoding amino acids, and was associated with red testa in peanut. In addition, a closely linked molecular marker linked with red testa trait in peanut was also developed for future studies. At present, more patients suffer from multiple chronic diseases. However, the hospital's existing chronic disease management is carried out according to the department. This means that a patient needs to go to more than one department for a chronic disease treatment. Therefore, this study proposes 6 dimensions (organizational management, medical service support, medical service, community alliance, self-management support, management information system) and 36 questions, to help evaluate the current chronic disease management system in China's large third-class hospitals. In this study, 143 survey samples from doctors and nurses were collected. A principal component analysis was used to extract three key elements of chronic disease management service delivery system (service management organization, management information system, medical core service). Then, multiple regression was used to establish the relationship model between the overall performance of the system and the main elements. Three key service nodes of the system (medical specialist support, patient tracking management and personalized intervention) were determined according to the weight of the regression model. The regression coefficients of the above three main elements show a similar impact on the overall performance of the system, but the key service nodes under each major element have relative differences, including medical specialist support, patient tracking management and personalized intervention. Finally, to establish a chronic disease management system with multiple departmental continuous care for chronic diseases, it is necessary to improve the chronic disease management system from three aspects of medical specialty support, patient tracking management and personalized intervention. Lactobacillus casei, a kind of probiotic, was reported as antidepressant effects. However, little is known about the effect of Lactobacillus casei on postpartum depression (PPD). In this study, we investigated the effects of Lactobacillus casei in improving PPD and potential mechanisms. Four hours of daily maternal separation from postnatal day 2 to day 21 was performed to establish the PPD model in rats. From postnatal day 2 to day 28, rats were gavage-fed with an equal volume of normal saline, Lactobacillus casei (8 × 10 8 CFU/kg/day), or paroxetine (1.8 mg/kg/day), respectively. Rat behaviors were measured using the sucrose preference test, the elevated plus maze, the forced swim test, and the tail suspension test. Changes in gut microbiota were detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR. Administration of Lactobacillus casei improved depressive-like behaviors, intestinal microflora, and oxidative stress in PPD model rats. Western Blot or HPLC assays showed that Lactobacillus casei intervention reversed the changes of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), N-methyl-D-aspartic acid receptor 1 (NR1), ERK1/2, and monoamines in the brain of PPD rats. These results suggest that Lactobacillus casei could improve PPD through altering gut microbiota composition, brain monoamines and oxidative stress, which may be associated with the regulation of the BDNF-ERK1/2 pathway., (Copyright © 2022 Elsevier B.V. Objectives: Youngsters who are overweight or obese (YOO) have become an important global health concern. Some micronutrients may be modifiable influential factors. This study aimed to investigate the individual and joint association of whole-blood magnesium (WBMg) and total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), or high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) in YOO., Methods: This is a propensity score matching-based case-control study. YOO was defined depending on age- and sex-specific body mass index z-score, calculated with SAS macros (%group&#95;standard and %WHO2007) from the World Health Organization website. WBMg, blood lipids, and covariates were carefully measured by trained technicians using a whole-blood, five-element, basic analyzer and atomic absorption spectrometer or automatic biochemical analyzer. Locally weighted scattered plot smoothing and multivariable conditional logistic regression models were applied to estimate the associations of WBMg and blood lipids in YOO., Results: WBMg was positively associated with YOO. The adjusted likelihood of YOO significantly increased by 21% (odds ratio: 1.21; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.10-1.33) with per-interquartile range elevation of WBMg. Compared with the 1st quartile, adjusted odds ratios among youngsters in the 2 nd , 3 rd , and 4 th quartiles of WBMg were 1.11 (95% CI, 0.92-1.35), 1.29 (95% CI, 1.06-1.57), and 1.47 (95% CI, 1.18-1.83), respectively. Furthermore, the relationship between WBMg and YOO was moderated by lipid profiles. Compared with those having lower (< median) WBMg and TC, TG, LDL-C, or higher (≥ median) HDL-C, youngsters with both higher WBMg and TC, TG, LDL-C, or lower HDL-C had higher YOO odds, which averagely increased by 188%, 250%, 339%, and 369%, respectively., Conclusions: WBMg was an independent risk factor of YOO, and the associations were stronger among those with unhealthy blood lipids. Background: Optimal ω-6/ω-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids ratio (PUFAR) is reported to exert protective effects against chronic diseases. However, data on PUFAR and diabetic retinopathy (DR) remains scarce. We aimed to thoroughly quantify whether and how PUFAR was related to DR as well as its role in DR detection., Methods: This two-centre case-control study was conducted from August 2017 to June 2018 in China, participants were matched using a propensity score matching algorithm. We adopted multivariable logistic regression models and restricted cubic spline analyses to estimate the independent association of PUFAR with DR, adjusting for confounders identified using a directed acyclic graph. The value of PUFAR as a biomarker for DR identification was further evaluated by receiver operating characteristic analyses and Hosmer-Lemeshow tests., Findings: An apparent negative relationship between PUFAR and DR was observed. Adjusted odds of DR decreased by 79% (OR: 0·21, 95% CI: 0·10-0·40) with an interquartile range increase in PUFAR. Similar results were also obtained in tertile analysis. As compared to those in the 1st tertile of PUFAR, the adjusted odds of DR decreased by 76% (OR: 0·24, 95% CI: 0·08-0·66) and 93% (OR: 0·07, 95% CI: 0·03-0·22) for subjects in the 2nd and 3rd tertiles, respectively. Good calibration and discrimination of the PUFAR associated predictive model were detected and PUFAR = 35 would be an ideal cut-off value for DR identification., Interpretation: Our results suggest that serum PUAFR is inversely associated with DR. Objective: To investigate the association of fetal cardiac structural abnormalities with chromosomal aneuploidies and copy number variations (CNVs) in amniocytes., Methods: 328 pregnant women were subjected to fetal ultrasonography and chromosomal microarray analysis (CMA). Based on the fetal heart structure, the subjects were divided into normal (n=273) and abnormal groups (n=55). The detection rates of chromosomal aneuploidies and CNVs were compared between the two groups. Spearman method was used to assess the association between the results and fetal cardiac structural abnormalities., Results: The detection rates for chromosomal aneuploidies and CNVs in the abnormal group were significantly higher than that in the normal group (P< 0.05), and the incidence of fetal cardiac structural abnormalities was strongly associated with chromosomal aneuploidies and CNVs (P< 0.05)., Conclusion: Fetal chromosomal aneuploidies and CNVs are strongly associated with cardiac structural abnormalities.

The perennial ornamental peanut Arachis glabrata represents one of the most adaptable wild Arachis species. This study used PacBio combined with BGISEQ-500 RNA-seq technology to study the transcriptome and gene expression dynamics of A. glabrata. Of the total 109,747 unique transcripts obtained, >90,566 transcripts showed significant homology to known proteins and contained the complete coding sequence (CDS). RNA-seq revealed that 1229, 1039, 1671, 3923, 1521 and 1799 transcripts expressed specifically in the root, stem, leaf, flower, peg and pod, respectively. We also identified thousands of differentially expressed transcripts in response to drought, salt, cold and leaf spot disease. Furthermore, we identified 30 polyphenol oxidase encoding genes associated with the quality of forage, making A. glabrata suitable as a forage crop. Our findings presented the first transcriptome study of A. glabrata which will facilitate genetic and genomics studies and lays the groundwork for a deeper understanding of the A. glabrata genome., (Copyright © 2021. Background: MicroRNAs are important gene expression regulators in plants immune system. Aspergillus flavus is the most common causal agents of aflatoxin contamination in peanuts, but information on the function of miRNA in peanut-A. flavus interaction is lacking. In this study, the resistant cultivar (GT-C20) and susceptible cultivar (Tifrunner) were used to investigate regulatory roles of miRNAs in response to A. flavus growth., Results: A total of 30 miRNAs, 447 genes and 21 potential miRNA/mRNA pairs were differentially expressed significantly when treated with A. flavus. A total of 62 miRNAs, 451 genes and 44 potential miRNA/mRNA pairs exhibited differential expression profiles between two peanut varieties. Gene Ontology (GO) analysis showed that metabolic-process related GO terms were enriched. Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analyses further supported the GO results, in which many enriched pathways were related with biosynthesis and metabolism, such as biosynthesis of secondary metabolites and metabolic pathways. Correlation analysis of small RNA, transcriptome and degradome indicated that miR156/SPL pairs might regulate the accumulation of flavonoids in resistant and susceptible genotypes. The miR482/2118 family might regulate NBS-LRR gene which had the higher expression level in resistant genotype. These results provided useful information for further understanding the roles of miR156/157/SPL and miR482/2118/NBS-LRR pairs., Conclusions: Integration analysis of the transcriptome, miRNAome and degradome of resistant and susceptible peanut varieties were performed in this study. The knowledge gained will help to understand the roles of miRNAs of peanut in response to A. flavus.

Background: Plant height, mainly decided by main stem height, is the major agronomic trait and closely correlated to crop yield. A number of studies had been conducted on model plants and crops to understand the molecular and genetic basis of plant height. However, little is known on the molecular mechanisms of peanut main stem height., Results: In this study, a semi-dwarf peanut mutant was identified from 60 Co γ-ray induced mutant population and designated as semi-dwarf mutant 2 (sdm2). The height of sdm2 was only 59.3% of its wild line Fenghua 1 (FH1) at the mature stage. The sdm2 has less internode number and short internode length to compare with FH1. Gene expression profiles of stem and leaf from both sdm2 and FH1 were analyzed using high throughput RNA sequencing. The differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were involved in hormone biosynthesis and signaling pathways, cell wall synthetic and metabolic pathways. BR, GA and IAA biosynthesis and signal transduction pathways were significantly enriched. The expression of several genes in BR biosynthesis and signaling were found to be significantly down-regulated in sdm2 as compared to FH1. Many transcription factors encoding genes were identified as DEGs., Conclusions: A large number of genes were found differentially expressed between sdm2 and FH1. These results provide useful information for uncovering the molecular mechanism regulating peanut stem height. It could facilitate identification of causal genes for breeding peanut varieties with semi-dwarf phenotype.

Objective: Intracranial aneurysms are extremely rare in infants, especially less than 1 year old. This study aimed to analyze the frequency of infantile intracranial aneurysm in our department and investigate the clinical characteristics, treatment strategies, and outcomes of this disease., Methods: Six infants under 1 year old in 4350 patients with intracranial aneurysms were retrospectively analyzed from January 2010 to December 2016., Results: The patients (5 females and 1 male) ranged in age from 2 to 11 (mean age, 4.67) months. Four patients presented with generalized seizure and vomiting, 3 showed lethargy, 1 presented eye deviation, and 1 had right-sided hemiparesis. Radiographically, two aneurysms were localized in the middle cerebral artery (MCA) of the M2 segment, two were located in the M3 segment of MCA, one was located at left MCA bifurcation, and one was located at the nonbranching site of the left supraclinoid internal carotid artery. All these lesions were successfully managed with aneurysm clipping or resection, and the improvement of neurological deficits was achieved in all patients., Conclusion: Intracranial aneurysms should be considered in the differential diagnosis of infants who present with acute raised intracranial pressure. An improvement of neurological deficits is noted in infants who are managed promptly with microsurgical techniques of clipping during the long-term follow-up.

In order to fully understand the anxiety level of the patients who will have ultrasound-guided puncture biopsy, and the survey results will guide the future clinical care to reduce the anxiety score of the patients, and to im-prove the satisfaction of them, which reflects the quality of care, we used Zung Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) to investigate outpatients who will have ultrasound-guided puncture biopsy in a upper first-class hospital by convenience sampling way. The results showed that the SAS standard score of the patients was higher than the Chinese normal population's, and there is significant difference between the patients and the normal population's score (t = 47.12, P < 0.001). So for reducing the patients' anxiety level we should give health education and care intervention to the patients before the operation. This reflects the Patient-centered Culture and Excellent-quality Care in China.
