Chronic inflammatory processes in the intestine result in serious conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and cancer. An increased detection of cytoplasmic DNA sensors has been reported in the IBD colon mucosa, suggesting their contribution in mucosal inflammation. Yet, the mechanisms altering DNA homeostasis and triggering the activation of DNA sensors remain poorly understood. In this study, we show that the epigenetic regulator HP1γ plays a role in preserving nuclear envelope and genomic integrity in enterocytic cells, thereby protecting against the presence of cytoplasmic DNA. Accordingly, HP1 loss of function led to the increased detection of cGAS/STING, a cytoplasmic DNA sensor that triggers inflammation. Thus, in addition to its role as a transcriptional silencer, HP1γ may also exert anti-inflammatory properties by preventing the activation of the endogenous cytoplasmic DNA response in the gut epithelium.

Drawing on social identity theory and the elaboration likelihood model, the authors hypothesize that positive affect (PA) similarity between recruiters and applicants affects both parties, and the influenced recruiters’ behaviour thus affecting applicants’ attitudes and behaviours. Nine hypotheses are tested by conducting two studies featuring a time-lagged research design with the goal of investigating the recruitment practices used by higher education institutions (HEIs) in China. Cross-level polynomial regression and block variable approaches examining 142 and 148 separate recruiter/applicant dyads support the proposed recruiter/applicant PA similarity effects. The underlying mechanism is revealed to be recruiters’ informativeness and affective delivery (Study 1), that then causes applicants to form brand identification, which further influences applicants’ attraction to the organization, and intentions to spread positive word-of-mouth about the organization (Study 2). Findings indicate that HEIs and organizations should strive to match applicant/recruiter PA levels. Implications and directions for future research are also discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper investigates the distributed optimization problem of networked Euler–Lagrange (EL) systems with actuator faults and unknown model parameters. In order to solve this issue, some event‐triggered fault‐tolerant (ETFT) optimal coordination algorithms with the mechanism of intermittent communication and intermittent controller update are designed for the first time to compensate for the impact of physical faults on the system, and reduce communication costs and control resource consumption. For practical applications, it is difficult for the system to have a secure environment if there exist malicious attacks blocking network channels among agents. Therefore, the resilient ETFT optimal coordination with intermittent communication subject to asynchronous denial‐of‐service (DoS) attacks is considered. Especially, auxiliary systems with adaptive gains are introduced in the algorithms due to the unavailability of the EL model parameters, which also enable virtual data exchange between agents and protect actual state information. Note that the algorithms are fully distributed as the global topology information is not required. In the context of strong electromagnetic interference environments, the measurement accuracy of the capacitance parameters of transmission lines under power frequency measurement methods is not high. In this paper, a capacitance parameter anti-interference measurement method for transmission lines based on harmonic components is proposed to overcome the impact of power frequency interference. When applying this method, it is first necessary to open-circuit the end of the line under test. Subsequently, apply voltage to the head end of the tested line through a step-up transformer. Due to the saturation of the transformer during no-load conditions, a large number of harmonics are generated, primarily third harmonic. The third harmonic components of voltage and current on the tested transmission line are extracted using the Fourier transform. The proposed method addresses the influence of line distribution effects by establishing a distributed parameter model for long-distance transmission lines. The relevant transmission matrix for the zero-sequence distributed parameters is obtained by combining Laplace transform and similarity transform to solve the transmission line equations. Using synchronous measurement data from the third harmonic components of voltage and current at both ends of the transmission line, combined with the transmission matrix, this method accurately measures the zero-sequence capacitance parameters. The PSCAD/EMTDC simulation results and field test outcomes have demonstrated the feasibility and accuracy of the proposed method for measuring line capacitance parameters under strong electromagnetic interference. Summary: Previous research on the motivational factors of safety performance has predominantly focused on one's willingness to directly enact safety behaviors or safety‐specific motivation. The current study extends beyond this view and examines an additional motivational force, altruistic motivation, as a main predictor of employees' safety performance at both individual and team levels. Further, we provide that servant leadership serves as a critical precursor of employee altruistic motivation. A sample of 416 nurses in 42 workgroups and their respective supervisors from a hospital in China completed a two‐wave survey. Hierarchical linear modeling was used to analyze the data. The results indicated that altruistic motivation was positively related to safety performance at both individual and team levels, with a stronger effect at the team level, supporting a proportional theory of homology. Multilevel mediation results showed that servant leadership was positively related to altruistic motivation, which in turn positively led to safety performance at both individual and team levels. These findings highlight both the theoretical and practical importance of encouraging altruistic motivation to improve workplace safety. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract Background The Prevalence of myopia is increasing in China. This study aimed to explore the distribution of spherical equivalent (SE) and its association with age, body mass index (BMI), gender in a non-myopic Chinese children population aged 6 to 12 years. Methods A total of 6362 students were recruited for ophthalmological investigation. Demographic and myopia related behavioral information was collected. SE value was measured by the Topcon RM-8900 or KR-800autorefractors. Potential independent risk factors were determined with Odds Ratio (OR) and 95% Confidence Interval (CI) by logistic regression analysis. We further constructed the nomogram model to predict future onset of myopia. Results Among the study population, 3900 (61.3%) were non-myopic. The prevalence of myopia is 38.0% for boys and 39.5% for girls. The average SE values were 0.50 ± 0.70 D for boys and 0.60 ± 0.80 D for girls. The mean SE values decreased with age, and the value of height and BMI took on a stable trend. Threshold values for myopia varied across age groups and gender. Paternal myopia (OR: 1.22, 95%CI: 1.01–1.48), near-work activities on weekends (2.56, 1.17–5.61), and outdoor activities (0.68, 0.54–0.86) were associated with potential myopic in students. Conclusion A series of age-gender based SE threshold values were established to predict myopia in Chinese children aged 6 to 12 years. High risk factors for myopia included paternal myopia, near-work activities on weekends, and outdoor activities. Countermeasures are encouraged to reverse the increasing trend of myopia in children.

Abstract Background Intravascular large B-cell lymphoma (IVLBCL) is an extremely rare subtype of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma that most commonly involves the central nervous system, skin, and bone marrow. To our knowledge, Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-positive IVLBCL in the liver has never been reported in the literature. Case presentation We report a case of a 65-year-old Chinese man with complaint of fever for 18 days. No obvious abnormality was found by physical examination. Laboratory findings were notable for anemia, thrombocytopenia, and elevated level of serum lactate dehydrogenase. Bone marrow on smear, biopsy, and flow cytometry revealed no lymphoma. Imaging studies showed a slightly lower density lesion in the liver with high fluorodeoxyglucose uptake and hepatosplenomegaly. Percutaneous liver biopsy revealed clustering of large atypical lymphocytes within the hepatic sinusoids. Immunohistochemically, these lymphoma cells were positive for CD20, PAX-5, MUM-1, BCL-6 and CD5, but negative for CD3 and CD10. Besides, Epstein-Barr virus-encoded RNA was detected in tumor cells by in situ hybridization. BCL-2, BCL-6 and MYC genes were intact tested by fluorescence in situ hybridization analysis. The patient was diagnosed as IVLBCL and died after 1 month of hospitalization without receiving immunochemotherapy. Conclusions IVLBCL of the liver is a highly rare lymphoma with nonspecific manifestations and dismal prognosis. Full recognition of its clinicopathological features will help to better diagnose this disease.

Wires of high nitrogen austenitic stainless steel and 316L stainless steel were used, the surface forming characteristics of single bead, single-bead multi-layer and single-layer multi-bead were analyzed on high nitrogen austenitic stainless steel, better process parameters were screened. The most suitable process parameters of forming mix structure were obtained by size controlling of both beads. The optimum step-over distance of both beads was obtained by different step-over distance experiments, and mix structure was formed by wire and arc additive manufacturing with a reasonable path. The results show that the varies of process parameters have a great influence on surface forming characteristics of high nitrogen austenitic stainless steel beads, which pores emerge easily on the bead surface; the matching error method on geometry size and cross section area of both beads is proposed, by which optimum process parameters are obtained. The wire-feed rate of two wires are 5.7 m/min and 5.6 m/min, welding speed are both 0.6 m/min. Forming precision of mix structure is improved by reducing the number of arcing times and adopting a closed path, in addition, post processing decr-eases.
