However, whether this relationship exists in non-obese T2DM patients remains unknown. The study investigated the relationship between TyG and SUA in Chinese non-obese T2DM patients and examined the prognostic value of TyG in hyperuricemia (HUA).Patients and Methods: In total, 719 T2DM patients who were not obese were enrolled from among those who visited the Hebei General Hospital. The patients were categorized into groups according to their SUA levels. The relationship between TyG and clinical parameters was examined through correlation analysis. To consider covariates and examine the independent impact of TyG on HUA, logistic regression was performed. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was performed to evaluate the diagnostic value of TyG and homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) for HUA.Results: The HUA prevalence was 12.10%. TyG was statistically different among the four SUA groups, with lower TyG levels in the Q1, Q2, and Q3 groups than that in the Q4 group. TyG was positively correlated with SUA (r = 0.176, P < 0.001). Logistic regression exhibited that TyG and SUA were independently correlated (OR = 2.427, 95% CI = 1.134-5.195, P = 0.022) even after adjustment for confounding factors. Abstract

Most of the machine learning-based intrusion detection tools developed for Industrial Control Systems (ICS) are trained on network packet captures, and they rely on monitoring network layer traffic alone for intrusion detection. This approach produces weak intrusion detection systems, as ICS cyber-attacks have a real and significant impact on the process variables. A limited number of researchers consider integrating process measurements. However, in complex systems, process variable changes could result from different combinations of abnormal occurrences. This paper examines recent advances in intrusion detection algorithms, their limitations, challenges and the status of their application in critical infrastructures. We also introduce the discussion on the similarities and conflicts observed in the development of machine learning tools and techniques for fault diagnosis and cybersecurity in the protection of complex systems and the need to establish a clear difference between them. As a case study, we discuss special characteristics in nuclear power control systems and the factors that constraint the direct integration of security algorithms. Moreover, we discuss data reliability issues and present references and direct URL to recent open-source data repositories to aid researchers in developing data-driven ICS intrusion detection systems.

Abstract

As an important methyltransferase, G9a has been reported to be abnormally expressed in various human cancers and plays essential roles in tumorigenesis. However, the biologic functions and molecular mechanisms of G9a in gastric cancer (GC) remain unclear. GC is the fifth most frequent cancer around the world and seriously threatens human health, especially in developing countries. Here, our results showed that high expression of G9a was intensively correlated with poor prognosis and more advanced stages of GCs. Knockdown of G9a or treatment with its inhibitor, BIX01294, significantly reduced cell growth by cell cycle arrest and autophagy. In addition, the mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR) was evidently decreased after G9a silencing or inhibition, and mTOR activation partially rescued the effects of cell proliferation inhibition and autophagy induced by G9a knockdown or inhibition. Down-regulation of G9a effectively inhibited mTOR expression and tumor growth in the xenograft tumor model of GC cells. We also showed that G9a regulates mTOR and cell proliferation and autophagy depending on its histone methylase activity. Using chromatin immunoprecipitation analysis, we found that mTOR expression was associated with promoter methylation and an enrichment for mono- and dimethylated histone 3 lys 9 (H3K9). G9a knockdown revealed an apparent decrease in H3K9 monomethylation levels, but no apparent change in H3K9 dimethylation levels at the mTOR promoter.
