Abstract

White‐light emitting materials have become a hot research field of luminescent MOF (Metal–Organic Framework) because of its high practical application value. Herein, we successfully synthesized and characterized a rht‐type fluorescent MOF Zn‐TDPAT [H6TDPAT = 2,4,6‐tris(3,5‐dicarboxylphenylamino)‐1,3,5‐triazine] with a topology of (3, 24) connected nodes. A series of MOFs materials x%Tb + y%Eu@Zn‐TDPAT were prepared by incorporating different concentrations of green emission center Tb3+ and red emission center Eu3+ into the blue‐emitting Zn‐MOF. The luminescence properties of MOFs materials x%Tb + y%Eu@Zn‐TDPAT can be effectively adjusted by incorporating different concentrations of Tb3+ and Eu3+ and can obtain multi‐color luminescence properties from blue, blue‐green, green, yellow green, yellow, blue‐red, yellow‐red and white. According to trichromatic mechanism, by reasonably matching the intensity of blue light, green light and red light emitted by x%Tb + y%Eu@Zn‐TDPAT at 420, 543 and 616 nm, MOFs materials 0.75%Tb + 5%Eu@Zn‐TDPAT, 0.65%Tb + 5.5%Eu@Zn‐TDPAT and 0.5%Tb + 7.5%Eu@Zn‐TDPAT with white‐light emission are obtained. Their CIE coordinates are 0.3162, 0.3345 (0.3162, 0.3345), (0.3138, 0.3339) and (0.3329, 0.3222), respectively, which are very close to ideal white‐light emission (0.3333,0.3333). Abstract

A facile strategy was used to construct a series of composite materials with color-tunable and white light emission by encapsulating 1,3,6,8-tetrakis(p-benzoic acid)pyrene (H4TBAPy) into framework material [Eu(MCTCA)1.5(H2O)2]·1.75H2O (Eu-MCTCA), which is synthesized based on Eu(NO3)3·6H2O and 5-methyl-1-(4-carboxylphenyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazole-4-carboxylic acid (H2MCTCA). A slight adjustment of the emission color can be easily fulfilled by simply altering the concentration of H4TBAPy or regulating the excitation wavelength. Notably, white light emitting Eu-MCTCA@H4TBAPy can be realized by encapsulating H4TBAPy with a concentration of 0.75 mM, when the excitation wavelength is 350 nm. Furthermore, based on the favorable luminescence and stable structure of Eu-MCTCA@H4TBAPy in water or organic solvents, Eu-MCTCA@H4TBAPy can be used as a potential luminescent probe for detecting Fe3+, Cr2O72− and colchicine. Abstract

Two novel supramolecular complexes [Co 2 (HL 1 ) 2 (seb)H 2 O]·2.5H 2 O (1) and [Cu(H 2 L 2 )(ox)]·H 2 Ox·MeOH (2) (H 2 L 1 =2,6-di-(5- phenyl-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)pyridine, H 2 seb = sebacic acid, H 2 L 2 = 2,6-di-(5-methyl-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)pyridine, H 2 Ox=oxalic acid) based on pyrazolyl derivatives as ligands have been designed and synthesized. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, IR and UV-Vis spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Structural analysis reveals that in complexes 1 and 2, the coordination modes of the ligands H 2 L 1 and H 2 L 2 are different. The H 2 L 1 ligand generates a μ 2 -η 1 -η 1 -η 1 -η 1 coordination environment in 1; however, the H 2 L 2 ligand forms a μ 1 -η 1 -η 1 -η 1 coordination motif in 2. The coordination modes of the structurally similar sebacic and oxalic acids are also different, with the sebacic acid acting as a monodentate ligand and the oxalic acid as bidentate bridging ligand. 1 and 2 form 2D net and 1D chain structures, respectively, through C-H···O, O-H···O and N-H···O hydrogen bonds. In addition, the thermal stability of the two title complexes has been evaluated and is discussed in detail.

Abstract

Based on mimicing the N, O coordination environment of the active center of vanadium haloperoxidase (V-HPOs) and the hydrogen-bond interaction between the active center and amino acid residues or water molecules, we designed and synthesized two kinds of oxidovanadium complexes: (C3H5N2)2[(VO)2(μ2-C2O4)(C2O4)2(H2O)2] (1) and (VO2)2(μ2-C2O4)(C3H4N2)2 (2). We determined their structures by X-ray single crystal diffraction. The crystal structure analysis indicated that the coordination environments of those oxidovanadium complexes were similar to the active center of vanadium haloperoxidase, and there seemed to be a mimicing α-helix structure in the three-dimensional packing structure of the complexes. Additionally, by studying the bromination reaction activity we found that the oxidovanadium complexes had an upper activity during the mimic catalytic process.

172. Sensing of Fe3+and Cr2O72–in Water and White Light: Synthesis, Characterization, and Fluorescence Properties of a Crystalline Bismuth-1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic Acid Framework

Abstract

The problem of pollution caused by highly toxic ions has become the focus of global attention and has attracted the interest of many researchers. However, microdetection using a metal–organic framework remains a challenge. Here, we synthesized the Bi-polycarboxylate organic framework (Bi-MOF) compound [Bi(BTC)(H2O)]·H2O constructed by 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid. Structural analysis revealed that in our Bi-MOF structural unit, the adjacent codimers {Bi2O18} are further joined by C atoms in the H3BTC to form a three-dimensional organic framework. On the basis of the luminescent properties of this Bi-MOF, it could be used as a multifunctional test chemical sensor such as Fe3+and Cr2O72–. In particular, it is found that Bi-MOF has also extremely high selectivity, sensitivity, and uniqueness for Fe3+and Cr2O72–. When the Fe3+concentration was 0.01 mol/L, the Ksvwas 2.02 × 104M–1, and the detection limit was 1.59 μM. When the concentration of Cr2O72–was 0.01 mol/L, the Ksvwas 1.95 × 104M–1, and the detection limit of Bi-MOF was calculated to be 1.64 μM. This was experimentally verified by analyzing the fluorescence spectrum and fluorescence lifetime. In addition, in a breakthrough of the traditional method of superimposing the three primary colors, we encapsulate Eu3+in the blue emission center to obtain white light emission by the two primary colors first. This approach can reduce the number of variables that are difficult to control. Therefore, white light emission can be achieved by rationally doping different molar ratios of Eu3+.

Abstract

Two novel oxo-vanadium complexes of VO(HB(pz)3)(pzH)(SCN) (1) and VO(HB(3,5-Me2pz)3) (3,5-Me2pzH)(SCN)(SCNH)2 (2) with tris(pyrazolyl) hydroborate ligands were prepared by the reaction of VOSO4·nH2O, KSCN with Na(HB(pz)3), pyrazole, or Na(HB(3,5-Me2pz)3) and methyl-substituted pyrazole in the solution of MeOH, respectively. The complexes were characterized by element analysis, IR, and UV-vis spectra. In the mean time, the fluorescence spectrum was studied too, and the result indicates that the luminescence of the complexes is related to the interaction between oxovanadium ion and tris(pyrazolyl) hydroborate ligands. In addition, structures of oxovanadium complexes 1 and 2 were determined by X-ray diffraction. The electronic structures and the bonding characters of the two complexes were analyzed with ab initio calculations.

174. Amino-Functionalized NDI-Based MOFs as Unusual “Turn On” and “Turn Off” Fluorescent Sensors for Phenolic Pollutants with Double Solvent Channel Response and Iodine Adsorbents

Abstract

Regulating mixed ligands to change the functional properties of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) has been an important topic; especially, the structural changes have significant implications for the transformation of sensing response in different solvent channels. Herein, two [Cd (DPNDI) (NH2-BDC)0.5(NO3)]·2.25DMF (1) and [Cd(DPNDI)(NH2-AIPA)]·0.5DMF (2) (DPNDI = N,N-di(4-pyridyl)-1,4,5,8-naphthalenetetracarboxydiimide, NH2-BDC = 2-amino terephthalic acid, NH2-AIPA = 5-aminoisophthalic acid) were synthesized by the solvothermal method. Structural analysis shows that complex 1has a two-dimensional planar network structure and complex 2exhibits a three-dimensional network structure, endowing its potential as an efficient fluorescence sensor for phenolic compound detection under different solvent environments. Both complexes showed high fluorescence quenching sensitivity to phenolics in a water medium. Conversely, complex 1showed a fluorescence enhancement response to phenolic pollutants in an ethanol system with significantly low detection limits and recyclability. The detection limits were 0.58 μM for TNP, 1.3 μM for DNP, and 2.43 μM for PCP. In addition, the uncoordinated amino groups in the complexes promote them to exhibit excellent iodine adsorption performance. Especially, complex 2can serve as an adsorbent for iodine in cyclohexane solution with better adsorption efficiency than that of complex 1, and its adsorption capacity can reach 505 mg/g. The mixed ligands regulation strategy of NDI-based MOFs will open up an effective avenue for the conversion of fluorescence signals in dual-solvent channels and play simultaneously important roles in multiple applications.

Abstract

By selecting appropriate ligands, two polyoxidovanadate complexes, [Ni(en)2]3[V18O42Cl]·7H2O·2H3O+(1) and [H2N(CH3)2]3[PV14O42]·2TMP·6H3O+(2), have been synthesized at different pH values using V2(SO4)3, Ni(CH3COO)2, and H6TTHA (for1), VO(acac)2and TPP (for2) (en = C2H8N2, TPP = thiamine pyrophosphate, TMP = thiamine monophosphate, H6TTHA = 1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triamine hexaacetic acid). The complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis (TG), and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The complexes catalyze the oxidation of the organic substrate phenol red in the presence of H2O2and bromide, and the reaction system is considered as a model for hydrogen peroxide determination. The reaction rate constants (k) for1and2are calculated as 3.729 × 103and 4.083 × 103(mol L)−2 s−1. The maximum conversion rate of phenol red for1is 83.32%, while for2is 81.12%.
