187. Facial synthesis of KCu7S4 nanobelts for nonvolatile memory device applications.

Abstract

Tetragonal KCu7S4 nanobelts (NBs) with width of 200–600 nm and length of up to hundreds of micrometers were facially synthesized via a solution-based method. Electrical analysis reveals that the as-fabricated NB exhibits typical p-type semiconducting characteristics with an exceptionally high carrier mobility of ∼870 cm2 V−1 s−1, which may be attributed to the quasi-1D conduction path along the c axis in the structure of KCu7S4. A further study of a device based on the Cu/KCu7S4 NB/Au Schottky junction shows a stable memory behavior with a set voltage of about 0.6 V, a current ON/OFF ratio of about 104, and a retention time ＞104 s. Such resistive switching characteristics, according to our analysis are due to the interfacial oxide layers that can efficiently trap the electrons by the oxygen vacancies. Abstract

Primary lung cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in China. Approximately 60% of lung cancer patients have distant metastasis at the initial diagnosis, so it is necessary to find new tumor markers for early diagnosis and individualized treatment. Tumor markers contribute to the early diagnosis of lung cancer and play important roles in early detection and treatment, as well as in precision medicine, efficacy monitoring, and prognosis prediction. The pathological diagnosis of lung cancer in small biopsy specimens determines whether there are tumor cells in the biopsy and tumor type. Because biopsy is traumatic and the compliance of patients with multiple biopsies is poor, liquid biopsy has become a hot research direction. Liquid biopsies are advantageous because they are nontraumatic, easy to obtain, reflect the overall state of the tumor, and allow for real-time monitoring. At present, liquid biopsies mainly include circulating tumor cells, circulating tumor DNA, exosomes, microRNA, circulating RNA, tumor platelets, and tumor endothelial cells. 192. A Novel Strategy for Preparation of Cu2(MII)(MIV)S4 Thin Films for Solar Cell: Sulfurization of Mixed Metal Oxides Precursor Synthesized by Combustion Method

Abstract

In this study, a novel strategy for preparation of Cu2(MII)(MIV)S4 thin films was creatively proposed. Three light absorption materials Cu2MnSnS4, Cu2ZnSnS4 and Cu2ZnGeS4 were successfully synthesized based on combustion method. It was found that the combustion synthesized powder is mainly consist of several metal oxides. The band gap energy of Cu2MnSnS4, Cu2ZnSnS4 and Cu2ZnGeS4 are determined to be 1.3 eV, 1.49 eV and 2.15 eV, respectively, showing a promising application on thin film solar cells. According to our experiment results, the combustion method was confirmed to be an efficient tool to synthesize various Cu-based absorber materials by using a post-sulfurization process, which provides a new view for fabrication of high-efficient low-cost photovoltaics.

193. Effects of shading on the photosynthetic characteristics and chlorophyll fluorescence of the endangered plant Yunnanopilia longistaminata.

Abstract

In order to provide the scientific basis for the species conservation and sustainable exploitation and utiliza-tion, the effect of different shadness (0, 50%,65% and 80% shading)on the photosynthetic characteristics, chloro-phyll fluorescence and stomata structure of an endangered species Yunnanopilia longistaminata were studied. The results indicated that net photosynthetic increased at 50% shading but decreased at 80% shading. The transpiration rate and stomatal conductance increased at both 50% and 65% shading, which was helpful to photosynthetic process. Meanwhile, both of net photosynthetic and transpiration rates of the plant were suppressed as a result of the stomata limitation and the increase of the intercelluer CO2at 80% shading. For the chlorophyll fluorescence parameters, the maximal photochemical efficiency (Fv/Fm)and the actual quantum yield of photosystem II(ΦPSII)decreased significantly under 80% shading. Abstract

Forty-six abietane type diterpenoids possessing nine different fused ring systems were characterized from the roots of Salvia yunnanensis , six of which (salyunnanins A–F, 1 – 6 ) had different nor -abietane, homo -abietane, seco -abietane, and normal abietane architectures. Their structures were elucidated by comprehensive NMR and MS spectroscopic analyses. The inhibitory activities of these isolates against six human tumor lines were tested in vitro . Abstract

Metal nanoparticles (NPs) induced surface plasmon resonance (SPR) is of great interest for efficient controlling over light׳s propagation and absorption in optoelectronic devices applications. In this work, we proposed a simple strategy to improve the photocurrent of planar silicon (Si) p–n junction solar cells by attaching plasmonic Au nanoparticles (AuNPs) onto transparent graphene film to enhance incident light harvesting. Finite Element Method based simulations reveal that the strong light scattering by AuNPs is responsible for the optical absorption enhancement within Si, leading to the increase in photocurrent. In addition, decoration of AuNPs on graphene also contributes to a high fill factor ( FF ) by reducing series resistance in the circuit. These contributory factors, together with the effective surface passivation of Si yield a power conversion efficiency (PCE) as high as 10.15%, with excellent reproducibility. 196. Prognostic significance of cyclooxygenase-2 protein in pancreatic cancer: a meta-analysis.

Abstract

We conducted a meta-analysis of relevant cohort studies to investigate the relationships between cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) protein and the prognosis of pancreatic cancer. The following electronic databases were searched without language restrictions: MEDLINE (1966∼2013), the Library Database (Issue 12, 2013), EMBASE (1980∼2013), CINAHL (1982∼2013), Web of Science (1945∼2013), and the Chinese Biomedical Database (CBM) (1982∼2013). Meta-analysis was performed using the STATA statistical software. Six cohort studies with a total of 712 pancreatic cancer patients were involved in this meta-analysis. Our findings showed that COX-2-positive patients were significantly associated with a shorter overall survival (OS) than COX-2-negative patients (hazard ratio (HR) = 1.48, 95 % confidence interval (95%CI) = 1.12∼1.85, P < 0.001). A subgroup analysis by ethnicity also revealed that pancreatic cancer patients with an abnormal COX-2 expression exhibited a worse OS than COX-2-negative patients among both Asians and Caucasians (Asians: HR = 1.40, 95%CI = −0.09∼2.89, P = 0.066; Caucasians: HR = 1.49, 95%CI = 1.11∼1.87, P < 0.001, respectively). Our findings provide empirical evidence that abnormal COX-2 expression may be strongly correlated with poor prognosis for patients with pancreatic cancer. Abstract

A concise and efficient hydrodefluorination process was developed for the synthesis of gem-difluoroalkenes. This reaction employs rongalite as a masked proton source and does not require any additional catalysts or reductants. Notably, trifluoromethyl alkenes having both terminal and internal double bonds are compatible with this process, allowing for a wider range of substrates. The successful late-stage functionalizations of pharmaceuticals and gram-scale syntheses were used to demonstrate the viability of this method.

Abstract

Herein, we disclose a straightforward approach to access transition-metal-free reductive N-formylation of nitroarenes. This reaction integrates the dual role of rongalite, which acts as a reductant and a C1 building block concurrently. This provides an alternative method for the synthesis of N-aryl formamides from nitroarenes, including the construction of a C–N bond. The utility of this protocol was demonstrated by scale-up synthesis and late-stage functionalizations of complex molecules.

199. Diterpenoids from the Roots of Salvia yunnanensis

Abstract

Two new diterpenoids, salyunnanins I and J (1and 2), together with ten analogues, were isolated from the roots of Salvia yunnanensis.The structures of the new isolates, possessing different neo-clerodane and seco-abietane diterpenoid skeletons respectively, were elucidated on the basis of comprehensive spectroscopic data. All of the compounds were tested for the inhibitory activities against six human tumor lines in vitro, and several ones showed moderate cytotoxic activities.
