Abstract

Gold nanocages (AuNCs) have been invented and developed over two decades as biomaterial in clinical medicine with great application potential. AuNCs have a characteristic structure of porous walls with hollow interior and a compact size. This makes it possible for them to transport biomolecules or drugs with the advantages of their photothermal effects that could help further destroy germs or tumors while also regulating the release of drugs inside. Furthermore, their bioactivity and application can be broadened by using cell‐membrane display technology. AuNCs have shown tremendous potential in antibacterial activity, inflammation modulation, and tissue regeneration, which is required in periodontitis and peri‐implantitis treatment. Thus, this article provides an overview of AuNCs synthesis, characteristics, surface modifications, and clinical applications, aiming to serve as a reference for the design and fabrication of AuNCs‐based smart materials for periodontal or peri‐implant application. 157. Effect of Weld Design of Transition Layer on Microstructure and Properties of Welded Joints of S32304/Q390C Composites

Abstract

Due to the large difference in physical and chemical properties between the substrate and the cladding material, the welding of composite materials is much more difficult than that of single materials. In our work, S32304/Q390C composite material was considered as the research object. By adjusting the welding parameters, two kinds of joint geometry were obtained, namely, the transition layer weld lower (joint A) and higher the composite material interface (joint B). We studied the influence of the transition layer weld on the microstructure and properties of welded joints. The microstructure of the transition layer weld, the distribution of elements, the Schmidt factor of the interface between the transition layer and base layer weld, and the tensile strength of the joint were evaluated. The results show that with the increase of welding heat input, the microstructure of the transition layer weld changes from austenite and skeleton ferrite to austenite and lathy ferrite and austenite and acicular ferrite, while ferrite grows towards the weld center, showing a dendritic shape and a local network structure. At the side of the base layer weld of the interface between the transition and the base layer weld, the thickness of the low-carbon-content layer increased from 100 μm to 150 μm. Iron, chromium, and nickel elements on both sides of the interface were diffused, and the thickness of the diffusion layer increased from 3 μm to 10 μm. The tensile strength values of joints A and B were 648 MPa and 668 MPa, respectively, and the Schmidt factor values were 0.446 and 0.454, respectively. Combination with the analysis of the fracture morphology showed that when the transition layer weld was higher than the interface of the composite plate, the joint had better plastic deformation ability and higher tensile strength.

180. On the Equivalent-Circuit-Based Design of Double-Lossy-Layer Wide Transmissive Rasorbers With Ultrawide Reflection Suppression Band

Abstract

In this article, a double-lossy-layer frequency-selective rasorber (FSR) with an ultrawide reflection suppression band is presented based on the equivalent circuit approach with a clear, concise, and effective design process. First, the general equivalent circuit model (ECM) of double-lossy-layer FSRs is established and studied to reveal the mechanism of the operation band extension of the absorption-transmission (A-T) FSRs to the lower frequency. Second, a single-polarized FSR is designed inversely based on the optimized circuit parameters to fulfill the ideal desired performances. The evolution process is exhibited step-by-step and the equivalent-circuit-based design guideline is summarized. Simulation results show the single-polarized FSR achieves a low reflection band ( $\vert S_{11}\vert \leq -10 $ dB) from 1.07 to 12.66 GHz, with a ratio bandwidth of 11.83:1. The 80% absorption band covers 0.99–7.11 GHz (151.1%) and the −1-dB transmission bandwidth is 43.0%, ranging from 7.97 to 12.33 GHz. Then, a dual-polarized FSR is further presented and optimized to preserve excellent frequency responses. In addition, the proposed FSR also achieves ultraminiaturization and thus improves angular stability partly. Finally, a dual-polarized FSR prototype of $20 \times $ unit cells is fabricated and measured to verify the design and the measurement results coincide well with the simulation ones.

181. The Effect of Different Reaction Mechanisms on Combustion Simulation of a Reverse-Flow Combustor

Abstract

Three different reaction mechanisms of kerosene and flamelet models were used to simulate combustion in a reverse-flow combustor. By comparing the effects of different mechanisms on the flow field characteristics, components and temperature distribution of the combustion chamber, the results showed that: Under different reaction mechanisms, there was a strong similarity between flow filed and temperature field, but the penetration depth and temperature distribution of local jets were affected by the mechanism. Due to the different reaction paths and reaction rates, the distribution of major components had a great degree of similarity, but the concentration of intermediate components varied greatly. Comprehensive analysis, the 16 species and 17 species reaction mechanisms can simulate the flow field and outlet temperature distribution of the combustor well.

The Cauchy problems of Keller-Segel system with logistic source seem much less throughly understood than associated initial-boundary problems in bounded domains. This paper is concerned with the Cauchy problem of Keller-Segel system with generalized logistic source given by$ \begin{eqnarray*} \left\{ \begin{array}{llc} \label{188} u_t = \Delta u - \nabla \cdot (u\nabla v)+\lambda u-\mu u^{k}, \\ 0 = \Delta v+u, \end{array} \right. \end{eqnarray*} $in $ \mathbb{R}^{n} $ for $ n\ge 3 $, where $ \lambda\in \mathbb{R} $, $ \mu >0 $, $ k>1 $.Under the assumption $ k<\frac{3}{2}-\frac{1}{n} $, it is shown that there exists $ m_{*}>0 $ such that if the radially symmetric initial data satisfies $ \int_ {B_{\frac{1}{2}}(0)}u_{0}\geq m_{*} $, then the problem admits a finite-time blowup solution.
