We explored the possibility of producing a high-mobility two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG) in the LaAlO3/SrGeO3 and LaGaO3/BaSnO3 heterostructures using first-principles electronic structure calculations. Our results show that the 2DEG occurs at n-type LaAlO3/SrGeO3 and LaGaO3/BaSnO3 interfaces. Compared to the prototype LaAlO3/SrTiO3, LaAlO3/SrGeO3 and LaGaO3/BaSnO3 systems yield comparable total interfacial charge carrier density but much lower electron effective mass (nearly half the value of LaAlO3/SrTiO3), thus resulting in about twice larger electron mobility and enhanced interfacial conductivity. This work demonstrates that SrGeO3 and BaSnO3 can be potential substrate materials to achieve a high-mobility 2DEG in the perovskite-oxide heterostructures.

Wildfires significantly affect climate and environmental changes, closely tied to extreme weather responses. Vegetation combustion emits greenhouse gases (CO2, CH4, CO), warming the climate. Climate shifts, in turn, impact vegetation growth, altering combustible material types and quantities, thus affecting wildfire intensity, duration, and frequency. Wildfires profoundly affect ecosystems, influenced by factors like atmospheric oxygen and climate. Their combustion gases impact climate and vegetation growth. Recent advancements in studying ancient wildfires include analyzing nanoparticles as key indicators. This study discovered six types of nanoparticles in ancient wildfire remains, with sizes ranging from 50 nm to 500 nm and diverse compositions including elements such as C, O, Mg, Al, Ti, Fe, S, Ca, and P. These findings indicate that wildfires generate a variety of nanoparticles, offering new insights into ancient fire events. Elemental analysis revealed low magnesium but high calcium and aluminum levels, suggesting a warm, humid paleoclimate during these fires. The presence of high Ti-O ratios and carbon-rich nanoparticles points to ground fires with incomplete combustion. Karst groundwater is a crucial water source, but it has faced significant environmental risks in recent years. The complexity of the groundwater system necessitates innovative approaches to studying karst groundwater. This paper focuses on the karst groundwater of the Baotu Spring area in Jinan. Using the nanoparticle tracking analysis instrument, it is observed that the collected groundwater contains many natural nanoparticles, with particle sizes mainly ranging from 76.3 to 621.8 nm and concentrations primarily between 0.31 and 5.0 × 105 Particles/L. The transmission electron microscope (TEM) is used to study the characteristics of naturally occurring nanoparticles in the karst groundwater. The results show that the karst groundwater mainly contains particles of Ca, Na, Fe, Al, Si, and other elements, which exist in granular and irregular forms. The size of individual particles varies from 40 to 600 nm, and they are mostly amorphous and monocrystalline. The characteristics of the particles suggest that the direct recharge area mainly receives infiltration from atmospheric precipitation, with minimal influence from human activities and agriculture. In contrast, the indirect recharge and discharge areas are more significantly affected by external environments, including domestic sewage, industrial wastewater discharge, and agricultural fertilizers. These findings also suggest that elements can be transported in particle form during water-rock interactions, potentially playing a significant role in the cycling of elements between water and rocks. The particles in the study area are situated in a relatively oxidized environment, suggesting that fracture and oxidation are the main processes for particle formation. Particles can effectively transport metallic elements in groundwater, offering fresh perspectives on the migration of these elements and acting as carriers for inorganic substances, thereby increasing their mobility in aquatic environments. Given the widespread presence of natural nanoparticles in the water cycle system, some stable nanoparticles can serve as new types of groundwater tracing agents during the groundwater migration process. Objectives: Previous studies have demonstrated that obesity may impact the efficacy of anti‐PD1 therapy, but the underlying mechanism remains unclear. In this study, our objective was to determine the prognostic value of obesity in patients with oral tongue squamous cell carcinoma (OTSCC) treated with pembrolizumab and establish a subtype based on fatty acid metabolism‐related genes (FAMRGs) for immunotherapy. Materials and Methods: We enrolled a total of 56 patients with OTSCC who underwent neoadjuvant anti‐PD1 therapy. Univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses, Kaplan–Meier survival analysis, and immunohistochemistry staining were performed. Additionally, we acquired the gene expression profiles of pan‐cancer samples and conducted GSEA and KEGG pathway analysis. Moreover, data from TCGA, MSigDB, UALCAN, GEPIA and TIMER were utilized to construct the FAMRGs subtype. Results: Our findings indicate that high Body Mass Index (BMI) was significantly associated with improved PFS (HR = 0.015; 95% CI, 0.001 to 0.477; p = 0.015), potentially attributed to increased infiltration of PD1 + T cells. A total of 91 differentially expressed FAMRGs were identified between the response and non‐response groups in pan‐cancer patients treated with immunotherapy. Of these, 6 hub FAMRGs (ACSL5, PLA2G2D, PROCA1, IL4I1, UBE2L6 and PSME1) were found to affect PD‐1 expression and T cell infiltration in HNSCC, which may impact the efficacy of anti‐PD1 therapy. Conclusion: This study demonstrates that obesity serves as a robust prognostic predictor for patients with OTSCC undergoing neoadjuvant anti‐PD1 therapy. Furthermore, the expression of 6 hub FAMRGs (ACSL5, PLA2G2D, PROCA1, IL4I1, UBE2L6 and PSME1) plays a pivotal role in the context of anti‐PD1 therapy and deserves further investigation. Aim: To investigate the differences in utility between conventional dressings and hydrogel dressings for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcer (DFU). Methods: The PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, CNKI, VIP and Wanfang databases were systematically searched up to 21 January 2023. Fixed/random‐effect models were used to calculate the odds ratios (ORs) and mean differences (MDs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for the effect size analysis, with heterogeneity determined by I2 statistics. Subgroup analyses of different classes of hydrogel were also conducted. Results: A total of 15 randomized controlled trials with 872 patients were eligible for the present analysis. Compared with conventional dressings, hydrogel dressings significantly improved the healing rate (OR 4.09, 95% CI 2.83 to 5.91), shortened the healing time (MD −11.38, 95% CI −13.11 to −9.66), enhanced granulation formation (MD −3.60, 95% CI −4.21 to −3.00) and epithelial formation (MD −2.82, 95% CI −3.19 to −2.46), and reduced the incidence of bacterial infection (OR 0.10, 95% CI 0.05 to 0.18). The rapidly developed Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) and artificial intelligence technology has prompted the real-time and accurate observation measurements of tidal bore, the basis of which is tidal bore propagation velocity. In this article, we construct a tidal observation system framework based on UAV and computer vision in order to obtain the tidal bore propagating velocity datasets. Firstly, we focus on the identification of tidal headlines based on the Sobel edge detection, the improved Otsu image segmentation algorithm and the edge connection algorithm with an accuracy of 91%. And then, the detected tidal headlines could be used to control the flight parameters of UAV in order to stably track tidal bore on the specified route with the deviation range below 0.5, and finally to acquire the tidal bore propagation velocity datasets. Comparing with the propagation velocity of the tidal line measured on site, the error of the results is maintained within 0.1 m/s, which demonstrates the effectiveness of our proposed observation method. BaSnO3 thin films have attracted significant attention due to their exceptional properties, specifically high electron mobility at room temperature, for optoelectronic applications, such as pn diodes and field-effect transistors. However, the dominant surface terminations of these films, particularly their dependence on growth conditions and water leaching, remain elusive. Here, we studied the impacts of growth conditions and water leaching on the dominant surface terminations of BaSnO3 thin films by modeling oxygen vacancies and water adsorption using first-principles calculations. Our calculations show that, in the BaSnO3 model without oxygen vacancies (corresponding to an oxygen-rich condition), the required cleavage energy to remove the surface SnO2 (BaO·H2O) layer is lower than that required to remove the BaO (SnO2·H2O) layer. This implies that BaSnO3 thin films subjected to O2 annealing display a Ba-excess surface without H2O leaching, whereas they have a Sn-excess surface with H2O leaching. In contrast, the calculated results for the BaSnO3 model with oxygen vacancies (corresponding to an oxygen-deficient condition) show that the required cleavage energy to remove the surface SnO2 (SnO2·H2O) layer is less than that required to remove the BaO (BaO·H2O) layer, suggesting that BaSnO3 thin films prepared under oxygen-deficient conditions should exhibit Ba-excess surfaces regardless of H2O leaching. [Purpose/Significance] Under the background of precision poverty alleviation, this paper discusses the strategy of "double first-class" university think tank construction, which can provide reference for other university think tanks' construction, so that university think tanks can better help precision poverty alleviation work.[Method/Process] By using the method of literature investigation and case analysis, this paper investigates the current situation of the construction of 111 key think tanks in world-class universities and disciplines in China. It analyzes the role of "double first-class" think tanks in the process of precision poverty alleviation through typical cases, to guide the future. [Results/Conclusions] Under the background of precise poverty alleviation, the construction of "double first-class" university think tanks should have a clear development orientation, strengthen the construction of talent ranks, widen the communication channels of research results, increase the influence of university think tanks, and optimize the service mode of university think tanks. To improve the ability of social service, we should attach importance to the construction of websites and promote the coordinated development of university think tanks.

The first-principles electronic structure calculation was applied to investigate the electronic properties of the LaAlO 3 /SrTiO 3 (001) heterostructure system (HSs) under strain. The results show that the distorted structure at the interface determines the occupied orbitals of 2DEG, further resulting in different sensitivities of interfacial charge carrier density, electron effective mass, electron mobility, and electrical conductivity on strain. The interfacial metallic states of tensile-strained and biaxial-compressive-strained LaAlO 3 /SrTiO 3 (001) HSs mainly occupy Ti 3d x y orbitals, which is the same for unstrained HSs. Then, the electron effective mass slightly decreases with tensile strain, which leads to a higher electrical conductivity. Different from biaxial-compressive-strained LaAlO 3 /SrTiO 3 (001) HSs with Ti 3d x y occupied orbitals, the Ti 3d y z orbitals are occupied for uniaxial-compressive-strained HSs, thus leading to a remarkably increased electron effective mass and sharply decreased electrical conductivity. These results give us a guidance to effectively modify the interfacial electronic characteristics of LaAlO 3 /SrTiO 3 (001) HSs by strain. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
