An 8-year-old girl presented with a 34-day history of cough, fatigue, and impaired exercise tolerance. She experienced cyanosis on exertion but denied fever, hemoptysis, hematuria, or seizures. Her perinatal and family histories were unremarkable, and she had no history of exposure to TB. A chest radiogram from a local clinic showed diffuse pulmonary lesions. Tuberculin skin test, interferon-γ release assay, and HIV antibody test results were all negative. Immunoglobulin levels and lymphocyte subsets were normal. The patient did not respond to IV azithromycin for 1 week for community-acquired pneumonia. She was transferred to our hospital because of progressive respiratory distress and hypoxemia. In order to promote the strategy of potato staple food, this paper investigates the effect of potato starch addition on the dough characteristics, cooking, textural and digestive properties of fermented noodles by adding different levels of potato starch. The results showed that with the increase of potato starch addition (0%-55%), the gelatinization initial temperature of the mixed powder decreases, the enthalpy value increases, and the termination temperature does not change significantly. The water absorption, formation time and stabilization time of the flour mix dough all tended to de-crease and the dough tended to be more of a solid material, resulting in a significant decrease in the firmness, elasticity and chewiness of the fermented noodles (P<0.05). By simulated in vitro starch digestion, the rate of starch hydrolysis was found to increase with the addition of potato starch, and the predicted value of glycemic index was significantly lower with the addition of potato starch compared to the control group (P<0.05). Following two years of treatment, eruptive cherry angiomas developed and presented as widely distributed red papules throughout his trunk and proximal limbs. The guidelines for the workup of thyroid nodules have been established in adult populations and secondarily applied to paediatric populations. In particular, The Bethesda System for Reporting Thyroid Cytopathology (TBSRTC) is commonly applied to both adult and paediatric thyroid nodules. However, as paediatric nodules have distinct molecular drivers and behavioural trajectories, there is renewed interest in diagnostic and management strategies that are paediatric specific. Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is the staple food of more than half of Earth's population. Brown planthopper (Nilaparvata lugens Stål, BPH) is a host-specific pest of rice responsible for inducing major losses in rice production. Utilizing host resistance to control N. lugens is considered to be the most cost-effective method. Therefore, the exploration of resistance genes and resistance mechanisms has become the focus of breeders' attention. During the long-term co-evolution process, rice has evolved multiple mechanisms to defend against BPH infection, and BPHs have evolved various mechanisms to overcome the defenses of rice plants. More than 49 BPH-resistance genes/QTLs have been reported to date, and the responses of rice to BPH feeding activity involve various processes, including MAPK activation, plant hormone production, Ca2+ flux, etc. Several secretory proteins of BPHs have been identified and are involved in activating or suppressing a series of defense responses in rice. Here, we review some recent advances in our understanding of rice–BPH interactions. We also discuss research progress in controlling methods of brown planthoppers, including cultural management, trap cropping, and biological control. Insulin-like growth factors 2 (IGF2) is an insulin-like growth factor that plays a major role in animal growth, cell proliferation and differentiation, as well as reproduction. IGF2 is well-known to be a candidate gene of growth and reproductive traits in many agricultural animals. Our previous study revealed that the G63A (Chr2: G26541617A) mutation within IGF2 exon 1 showed a significant association with egg numbers (E180d) of Sanhua goose population (p < 0.05). However, little work focus on the correlation between the IGF2 mutations and goose growth traits. In this study, qPCR indicated that the IGF2 mRNA highly expressed in leg muscle, liver, ovary and pituitary gland. Meanwhile, association analysis showed that the G63A mutation was significantly associated with the body weight of first-hatched Zhedong-White geese (BW0, p < 0.05), and strongly significantly associated with the BW2, BW4, BW6, BW8 and BW10 (p < 0.01). The GG homozygous had the lowest BW (from 4 weeks to 10 weeks) than those of AA and AG genotypes (p < 0.01), and the allele A was also positively correlated with the BW of the Zhedong-White goose population.
