Metacarpal fractures are frequently encountered in calves especially due to dystocia. In this study, it was aimed to evaluate metacarpus fractures in calves from many aspects especially the causes of the fracture, the location and classification of the fracture and to determine the most appropriate treatment option. 72 calves diagnosed with metacarpus fracture, aged between 1 and 15 days, regardless of gender and breed, were included in the study. Calves were classified according to fracture types and treatment method. In the treatment, external fixation with Steinman pins, polyvinylchloride-fiberglass plaster supported closed or windowed bandage methods were preferred. According to the radiological examination findings, it was determined that the fractures were distal diaphyseal in 40 (55%) cases, epiphyseal in 20 (27%) cases, and middle diaphyseal in 12 (18%) cases. It was learned that 46 of 51 cases with closed fractures and bandages healed without any problem, and 5 cases died due to comorbidities (calf diarrhea, aspiration pneumonia). 5 out of 7 patients which had external fixation using Steinmann pins had an recovery without complication, meanwhile 2 patients died due to infection. Full recovery was observed in 12 of 14 patients who underwent window bandage, meanwhile it was learned that 2 patients died due to secondary infection. As a result, subtantial data that will contribute to clinical practice and literature knowledge in the causes, location, classification, and treatment of metacarpal fractures, which are frequently encountered in calves and cause loss in terms of both economic and productivity, have been revealed.

This study was carried out to examine the relationship between university students' levels of fanaticism and brand preferences. In this direction; 696 students who were randomly selected from Erciyes University and Kayseri University in Kayseri and continuing their education in different departments voluntarily participated in the study group. As a data collection tool in the research; “Football Fans Fanaticism Scale” developed by Taşüstüpligil, Çankaya and Tunç (2014) to obtain data on fanaticism levels, and to obtain data on brand loyalty; The "Brand Loyalty" scale developed by Tekin (2020) was also used, and the "Personal Information Form" created by the researcher. The data obtained from the scales were analyzed with the SPSS package program. The personal information of the participants and the total scores of the inventory and factor scores were given by determining the frequency (f) and percentage (%) values. The normality distributions of the data were tested with the skewness and kurtosis tests and the Kolmogrov Smirnov Test. The t test was used to compare the data between two variables, and the anova test was used to compare three or more variables. Pearson Product Moments Correlation analysis (r) was used to show the relationship between the scores obtained from the scales. When the research findings were examined, a positive and significant relationship was found between students' levels of fanaticism and brand loyalty. It has been observed that students with high institutional belonging, especially in terms of fanaticism, are in positive harmony in identifying with the team. As a result, according to the data obtained as a result of the research, there is a positive relationship between football fan fanaticism and brand loyalty in all sub-dimensions. A highly positive relationship has emerged between the corporate belonging of football fans and their identification with the team. It is thought that the fans, who have a sense of belonging to the team, integrate more with their teams and in parallel with this situation, there is a positive increase in purchasing thoughts in order to contribute to the clubs they support., Bu çalışma üniversitede öğrenim gören öğrencilerin fanatizm düzeyleri ile marka tercihleri arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu doğrultuda; çalışma grubuna, Kayseri ilinde bulunan Erciyes Üniversitesi ve Kayseri Üniversitesi’nden rastgele seçilmiş ve farklı bölümlerde eğitimlerini sürdüren 696 öğrenci gönüllü olarak katılım göstermiştir. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak; fanatizm düzeylerine yönelik verileri elde etmek için Taşmektepligil, Çankaya ve Tunç (2014) tarafından geliştirilen “Futbol Taraftarı Fanatiklik Ölçeği”, marka sadakatine yönelik verileri elde etmek için ise; Tekin (2020) tarafından geliştirilen “Marka Sadakati” ölçeği ayrıca araştırmacı tarafından oluşturulan “Kişisel Bilgi Formu” kullanılmıştır. Ölçeklerden elde edilen veriler SPSS paket programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Katılımcılara ait kişisel bilgiler ve envanter toplam puanları ve faktör puanları frekans (f) ve yüzde (%) değerleri tespit edilerek verilmiştir. Verilerin normallik dağılımları çarpıklık basıklık testleri ve Kolmogrov Smirnov Testi ile sınanmıştır. Verilerin, iki değişken arasında karşılaştırılmasında t testi, üç veya daha fazla değişkenin karşılaştırılmasında ise anova testi uygulanmıştır. Ölçeklerden elde edilen puanlar arasındaki ilişkiyi gösterebilmek için Pearson Momentler Çarpımı Korelasyon analizi (r) kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulguları incelendiğinde, öğrencilerin fanatiklik düzeyleri ile marka sadakati arasında pozitif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Özellikle fanatiklik anlamında kurumsal aidiyeti yüksek öğrencilerin takımla özdeşleşme konusunda pozitif uyum içerisinde oldukları görülmüştür. Sonuç olarak araştırma neticesinde ortaya çıkan verilere göre, futbol taraftarı fanatikliği ile marka sadakati arasında bütün alt boyutlarda pozitif bir ilişki görülmektedir. Futbol taraftarlarının kurumsal aidiyetleri ile takımla özdeşleşme durumları arasında yüksek derecede pozitif bir ilişki ortaya çıkmıştır. Takıma aidiyet duygusu besleyen taraftarların takımlarıyla daha çok bütünleştikleri ve bu duruma paralel olarak destekledikleri kulüplere katkı sağlayabilmek adına satın alma düşüncelerinde de pozitif yönde bir artış olduğu düşünülmektedir.

Submitted to INTERSPEECH 2021; International audience; In recent years, voice-controlled personal assistants have revolutionized the interaction with smart devices and mobile applications. These dialogue tools are then used by system providers to improve and retrain the language models (LMs). Each spoken message reveals personal information, hence, it is necessary to remove the private data from the input utterances. However, this may harm the LM training because privacy-transformed data is unlikely to match the test distribution. This paper aims to fill the gap by focusing on the adaptation of LM initially trained on privacy-transformed utterances. Our data sanitization process relies on named-entity recognition. We propose an LM adaptation strategy over the private data with minimum losses. Class-based modeling is an effective approach to overcome data sparsity in the context of n-gram model training. On the other hand, neural LMs can handle longer contexts which can yield better predictions. Our methodology combines the predictive power of class-based models and the generalization capability of neural models together. With privacy transformation, we have a relative 11% word error rate (WER) increase compared to an LM trained on the clean data. Despite the privacy-preserving, we can still achieve comparable accuracy. Empirical evaluations attain a relative WER improvement of 8% over the initial model.

Recent COVID-19 pandemic has claimed millions of lives due to lack of a rapid diagnostic tool. Global scientific community is now making joint efforts on developing rapid and accurate diagnostic tools for early detection of viral infections to preventing future outbreaks. Conventional diagnostic methods for virus detection are expensive and time consuming. There is an immediate requirement for a sensitive, reliable, rapid and easy-to-use Point-of-Care (PoC) diagnostic technology. Electrochemical biosensors have the potential to fulfill these requirements, but they are less sensitive for sensing viruses/viral infections. However, sensitivity and performance of these electrochemical platforms can be improved by integrating carbon nanostructure, such as graphene and carbon nanotubes (CNTs). These nanostructures offer excellent electrical property, biocompatibility, chemical stability, mechanical strength and, large surface area that are most desired in developing PoC diagnostic tools for detecting viral infections with speed, sensitivity, and cost-effectiveness. This review summarizes recent advancements made toward integrating graphene/CNTs nanostructures and their surface modifications useful for developing new generation of electrochemical nanobiosensors for detecting viral infections. The review also provides prospects and considerations for extending the graphene/CNTs based electrochemical transducers into portable and wearable PoC tools that can be useful in preventing future outbreaks and pandemics.

Aim: to examine the relationship between individual and team athletes' anxiety to catch the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) and sleep quality according to different variables. Method: a total of 429 volunteer athletes (262 female and 167 male) took a part in the research who are actively involved in sports. Research data were collected through a questionnaire. The survey questions were delivered to the participants by the researcher through face-to-face interview method and via online survey. As for data collection tools, Athletes' Anxiety to Catch Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) Scale and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and Demographic Information Form prepared by the researcher were used. The obtained data were analyzed with the SPSS package program. In addition to descriptive statistics, the normality structure of the distributions was examined through skewness and kurtosis tests. In the comparison of data between two variables, t-test was applied in independent groups, and one-way analysis of variance was applied in the comparison of three or more variables. In addition, Pearson Moments Correlation test and regression analysis were applied. Results: no significant difference was observed between profession, marital status, age of starting sports, smoking status, sports branch and anxiety to catch Covid-19 and PSQI. At the same time, while there was a significant difference between gender, education level, income level and anxiety to catch Covid-19, no significant difference was found with PSQI. In addition, while a significant difference was observed between age and PSQI, there was no significant difference between the anxiety to catch Covid-19. A positive and significant relationship was found between the PSQI scores of the athletes and the anxiety scores to catch Covid-19. Therefore, we can say that as the anxiety levels of catching the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) increase, their sleep quality decreases. Furthermore, it has been determined that the anxiety to catch Covid-19 has a positive and significant predictive power on PSQI. Conclusion: considering these results, a psychosocial support program should be prepared and implemented to help control the anxiety level of catching Covid-19 and increase the low quality sleep it causes.

According to the results of the normal distribution analysis, it was decided to compare the data with parametric tests. When comparing the data between two variables, the t test was applied in independent groups; In the comparison of three or more variables, one-way analysis of variance was applied. In addition, Pearson Moments Correlation test and regression analysis were applied. When the findings were evaluated in general, it was determined that the marital status, occupation, age of starting sports and smoking status of the athletes did not make a difference between both sleep quality and coronavirus anxiety status. However, it is seen that the gender and income level of the athletes significantly differentiate their coronavirus anxiety states. At the same time, it was determined that the age, sports branch and education level of the athletes differentiated the sleep quality. We can say that the coronavirus anxiety state of the athletes is positively related to the sleep quality, so as the coronavirus anxiety levels increase, their sleep quality decreases. For this reason, in the planning to be made for the psychological problems of the athletes during the pandemic period, it is necessary to determine the priorities by taking this situation into account. In addition to training, studies can be carried out to provide athletes with psychoeducation on anxiety management and to increase sleep quality., Bu araştırmanın amacı; sporcuların koronavirüs anksiyete durumları ve uyku kalitesi üzerindeki etkisinin çeşitli değişkenlere göre incelenmesidir. Araştırmaya aktif olarak spor yaşantıları devam eden 242 kadın, 144 erkek toplamda 386 gönüllü sporcu katılmıştır. Araştırma verileri anket aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Anket soruları araştırmacı tarafından yüz yüze görüşme yöntemi ve online anket yoluyla katılımcılara ulaştırılmıştır. Veri toplama araçları olarak; Koronavirüs Anksiyete Ölçeği ve Uyku Kalitesi İndeksi (PUKİ) ile araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan Kişisel Bilgi Formu kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler SPSS paket programıyla analiz edilmiştir. Tanımlayıcı istatistiklerin yanı sıra; dağılımların normallik yapısı çarpıklık ve basıklık testleri aracılığıyla incelenmiştir. Normal dağılım analiz sonuçlarına göre verilerin parametrik testlerle karşılaştırılması kararı alınmıştır. Verilerin iki değişken arasında karşılaştırılmasında bağımsız gruplarda t testi uygulanırken; üç ve daha fazla değişkenin karşılaştırılmasında ise tek yönlü varyans analizi uygulanmıştır. Ayrıca Pearson Momentler Correlation testi ve regresyon analizi uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular genel olarak değerlendirildiğinde sporcuların medeni durum, meslek, spora başlama yaşı ve sigara kullanma durumunun hem uyku kalitesi hem de koronavirüs anksiyete durumu arasında bir farklılık oluşturmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Bununla birlikte sporcuların cinsiyet ve gelir seviyesinin koronavirüs anksiyete durumlarını önemli düzeyde farklılaştırdığı görülmektedir. Aynı zamanda sporcuların yaş, spor dalı ve eğitim düzeyinin uyku kalitesini farklılaştırdığı belirlenmiştir. Sporcuların koronavirüs anksiyete durumunun uyku kalitesi ile pozitif yönde ilişkili olduğu, dolayısıyla koronavirüs anksiyete düzeyleri arttıkça uyku kalitelerinin azaldığını söyleyebiliriz. Bu nedenle pandemi döneminde sporcuların psikolojik sorunlarına yönelik yapılacak planlamalarda bu durumun göz önüne alınarak önceliklerin belirlenmesi gerekir. Antrenmanların yanı sıra sporculara anksiyete yönetimi konusunda psikoeğitim verilmesi ve uyku kalitesinin yüksek seviyeye gelmesine yönelik çalışmalar yapılabilir.
