In this paper, we demonstrate a prototype of magnetic tunable bandstop filter by using magnetic multilayers of [FeGaB 25 nm/Al2O3 5 nm]4 prepared by magnetron sputtering. The multilayer structure exhibits a relatively low coercive field and RF loss compared to the single layer film with the same thickness. By placing a single transmission line on the top of magnetic multilayers, a prototype of tunable bandstop filter was fabricated and operates from 4.5 GHz to 7.08 GHz under very low magnetic bias fields from 100 Oe to 400 Oe. P-type Cu2O is a promising CMOS-compatible candidate to fabricate memristive devices for nextgeneration memory, logic and neuromorphic computing. In this letter, the microscopic switching and conducting mechanisms in TiW/Cu2O/Cu memristive devices have been thoroughly investigated. The bipolar resistive switching behaviors without an electro-forming process are ascribed to the formation and rupture of the conducting filaments composed of copper vacancies. In the low resistive state, the transport of electrons in the filaments follows Mott's variable range hopping theory. When the devices switch back to high resistive state, the coexistence of Schottky emission at the Cu/Cu2O interface and electron hopping between the residual filaments is found to dominate the conducting process. Four transition metals, namely cobalt, iron, manganese, and nickel, were separately combined with lanthanum metal to synthesize LaMO (M = Co, Fe, Mn, and Ni) perovskites using a sol-gel method. Electrodes for zinc-air rechargeable batteries were prepared with these perovskites and evaluated in terms of their morphology, crystal structure, electric conductivity, surface area, and particle size distribution. The electrochemical properties of the perovskites were characterized as catalysts of bifunctional electrodes for Hgen reduction reaction and oxygen evolution reaction in alkaline solution. Additionally, partially substituted LaNi(M1, M2, or M3)O ( x = 0.25 or 0.5, and M1, 2, 3 = Co, Fe, Mn) perovskites were synthesized to evaluate the effect of partial substitution of a metal in the Ni site, and improved physical and electrochemical properties were obtained. Sea cucumber ( Apostichopus japonicus) is an ecologically and economically important species in East and South-East Asia. This project aimed to identify large numbers of gene-associated markers and differentially expressed genes (DEGs) after lipopolysaccharides (LPS) challenge in A. japonicus using high-throughput transcriptome sequencing. A total of 162 million high-quality reads of 174 million raw reads were obtained by deep sequencing using Illumina HiSeq™ 2000 platform. Assembly of these reads generated 94 704 unigenes, with read length ranging from 200 to 16 153 bp (average length of 810 bp). A total of 36 005 were identified as coding sequences (CDSs), 32 479 of which were successfully annotated. Based on the assembly transcriptome, we identified 142 511 high-quality single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). Among them, 33 775, 63 120 and 45 616 were located in sequences without predicted CDS (non-CDSs), CDSs and untranslated regions (UTRs), respectively. These putative SNPs included 82 664 transitions and 59 847 transversions. Totally, 89 375 (59.1%) were distributed in 15 473 known genes. A total of 6417 microsatellites were detected in 5970 unigenes, 3216 of which were annotated and 2481 were successfully subjected for primer design. The numbers of simple sequence repeats (SSRs) identified in non-CDSs, CDSs and UTRs were 2367, 2316 and 1734. These potential SNPs and SSRs are expected to provide abundant resources for genetic, evolutionary and ecological studies in sea cucumber. Transcriptome comparison revealed 1330, 1347 and 1291 DEGs in the coelomocytes of A. japonicus at 4 h, 24 h and 72 h after LPS challenge, respectively. Several seemingly unrelated effects in Alcator C-Mod ohmic L-mode plasmas are shown to be closely connected: non-local heat transport, core toroidal rotation reversals, energy confinement saturation and up/down impurity density asymmetries. These phenomena all abruptly transform at a critical value of the collisionality. At low densities in the linear ohmic confinement regime, with collisionality v* ≤ 0.35 (evaluated inside of the q = 3/2 surface), heat transport exhibits non-local behaviour, core toroidal rotation is directed co-current, edge impurity density profiles are up/down symmetric and a turbulent feature in core density fluctuations with kθ up to 15 cm-1 (kθρs ~ 1) is present. At high density/collisionality with saturated ohmic confinement, electron thermal transport is diffusive, core rotation is in the counter-current direction, edge impurity density profiles are up/down asymmetric and the high kθ turbulent feature is absent. The rotation reversal stagnation point (just inside of the q = 3/2 surface) coincides with the non-local electron temperature profile inversion radius. All of these observations suggest a possible unification in a model with trapped electron mode prevalence at low collisionality and ion temperature gradient mode domination at high collisionality. Millimeter-wave (MMW) imaging techniques have been developed for the detection of concealed weapons and plastic explosives carried on personnel at major transportation hubs and secure locations. The combination of frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) technology and MMWimaging techniques leads to wideband, compact, and cost-effective systems which are especially suitable for security detection. Cylindrical three-dimensional (3-D) imaging technique, with the ability of viewing multiple sides, is an extension of rectilinear 3-D imaging technique only viewing a single side. Due to the relatively long signal sweep time, the conventional stop-and-go approximation of the pulsed systems is not suitable for FMCW systems. Therefore, a 3-D backscattered signal model including the effects of the continuous motion within the signal duration time is developed for cylindrical imaging systems. (Fe2-xNi1·5x)O3 semiconductor nanoparticles were prepared by an improved homogenous coprecipitation method using analytical pure FeCl3.3H2O and NH3.H2O as main reagents under different molar ratios n(Ni2+)/n(Fe3+). It was found that the (Fe2-xNi1·5x)O3 particles with a mean particle dimension of ∼50 nm have a corundum type crystal structure. The substitution of Fe3+ ion by Ni2+ leads to the change of the lattice parameters. The lattice parameters a and b increase greatly, while c does not increase, with increasing Ni doping. In addition, the Ni2+ doping brings on impurity defects and the formation of an acceptor level in the crystal structure of Fe2O3, which leads to the increase in crystal grain growth energy, the decrease in crystallite size and the increase in electric conductivity. Non-noble element doped nano-Fe2O3 with good semiconductor performance is promising for applications where pure nano-Fe2O3 cannot be used; moreover, it has the potential to replace high cost, high environmental impact, noble element doped nano-Fe2O3. Zoysia grass and creeping bentgrass are important turf grasses used in parks, gardens and playing fields. Development of grasses with increased tiller formation will enhance their commercial cultivation. To investigate the regulatory mechanism of tiller formation, we cloned the Zoysia japonica Lateral suppressor-like ( ZjLsL) gene. The Lateral suppressor ( Ls) gene encodes a transcriptional regulator belonging to the plant-specific GRAS protein family of putative transcription factors, and regulates axillary meristem initiation. A full-length DNA of the ZjLsL gene was isolated by 5′/3′ DNA walking. Phylogenetic analysis showed that ZjLsL is closely related to Ls genes. Southern blot analysis revealed that zoysia grass has two copies of the ZjLsL gene. ZjLsL expression was detected in all organs of zoysia grass but was most highly expressed in culms. Overexpression of ZjLsL in creeping bentgrass and Arabidopsis plants promoted axillary bud formation. Millimeter-wave (MMW) imaging techniques have been used for the detection of concealed weapons and contraband carried on personnel at airports and other secure locations. The combination of frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) technology and MMW imaging techniques should lead to compact, light-weight, and low-cost systems which are especially suitable for security and detection application. However, the long signal duration time leads to the failure of the conventional stop-and-go approximation of the pulsed system. Therefore, the motion within the signal duration time needs to be taken into account. Analytical three-dimensional (3-D) backscattered signal model, without using the stop-and-go approximation, is developed in this paper. Then, a wavenumber domain algorithm, with motion compensation, is presented. In addition, conventional wavenumber domain methods use Stolt interpolation to obtain uniform wavenumber samples and compute the fast Fourier transform (FFT). This paper uses the 3-D nonuniform fast Fourier transform (NUFFT) instead of the Stolt interpolation and FFT. The NUFFT-based method is much faster than the Stolt interpolation-based method. The objective of this study was to compare the effects of risperidone and olanzapine in schizophrenic patients with intolerant extrapyramidal side effects (EPS) on first generation antipsychotics. We conducted an 8-week, rater-blinded, flexible dose study. Seventy patients with schizophrenia, who met the DSM-IV research criteria of having neuroleptic-induced acute dystonia or parkinsonism, were randomly assigned to risperidone or olanzapine group. The primary outcome was a comparison of the incidence of concomitant anticholinergic drugs usage between the groups to manage their acute dystonia and parkinsonism. The average doses of risperidone and olanzapine from baseline to study end point were 1.8-3.5 mg/day and 7.7-11.7 mg/day, respectively. There were no significant differences in demographic data, severity of EPS or psychotic symptoms between the groups at baseline assessment. Patients taking risperidone had significantly higher incidence of using anticholinergic drugs to manage acute dystonia or parkinsonism overall during the study (OR = 5.17, 95%CI = 1.49-17.88, P = 0.013). There was no significant between-group difference in the changing of rating scales of EPS and psychotic symptoms. The results of our study favour olanzapine as a better choice in schizophrenic patients with intolerant EPS. Double-blinded, fixed dose and different ethnical study for EPS-intolerant schizophrenic patients is needed to confirm the results of our study. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

x[0.5Pb(Ni1/3Nb2/3)O3-0.345PbTiO3-0.155PbZrO3]-(1-x)[0.1(Pb(Mn1/3Nb1/3Sb1/3)O3 -0.9Pb(Zr0.5Ti0.5)O3](xPNN-(1-x)PMNS, x = 0.05∼0.6) ceramics were prepared by a columbite two-step method. NiNb2O6, MnNb2O6 and MnSb2O6 were used as precursors to produce the pseudoquintnary system ceramics. XRD results indicate that the pseudoquintnary system ceramics have a single-phase perovskite structure. It was ascertained that the morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) of the xPNN-(1-x)PMNS pseudoquintnary system lies in the composition range of 0.35 ≤ x ≤ 0.55. The preferred electric properties of Kp = 0.637, Qm = 1660, d33 = 450 pC/N, ε33T/ε0 = 2192, tan δ = 0.43% can be obtained when x = 0.40, which can be used for high-power ultrasonic motors. Pb0.97Ca0.03Nb2O6 + xwt% CeO2 (x = 0, 0.3) bulk ceramics were fabricated by conventional solid state reaction route. The structures of the specimen were investigated by XRD and SEM. The dielectric, piezoelectric properties were also measured, the results indicate that CeO2 doping can improve the piezoelectric properties. The specimen of x = 0.3 showed the main electrical properties as follows: Kp = 0.06, Kt = 0.40, Qm = 25, tanδ = 0.36%, ε33T/ε0 = 243 and d33 = 71 pC/N. The Curie temperature of the specimen x = 0.3 is 526°C, it can be potentially applied for high temperature and high frequency wideband ultrasonic transducers and detectors. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Homogeneous crystalline Ba2Ti9O20(BT) phase was formed for the films grown at 700 and annealed at 900°C. However, BaTi5O11 second phase was also developed for the films grown at temperatures lower than 700°C and annealed at 900°C. A high capacitance density of 6.1 IF/μm² along with a leakage current density of 3.1 × 10-8 A/cm² at 1.0 V were obtained for a 61 nm thick crystalline BT film. This film had small quadratic and linear voltage coefficients of capacitance (VCC) of -48.5 ppm/V² and 534 ppm/V, respectively, and a small temperature coefficient of capacitance (TCC) of -465 ppm/°C at 100 kHz. A 62 nm thick amorphous BT film grown at 300°C showed a high capacitance density of 5.5 fF/μm² with a very low leakage current density of 0.59 x 10-9A/cm² at 2.0 V. This amorphous film also showed small quadratic and linear VCCs of 99.7 ppm/V² and 371 ppm/V, respectively, with a low TCC of 661 ppm/°C at 100 kHz. Amorphous, 70 nm thick BaTi4O9 film grown at 350°C exhibited a high capacitance density of 4.58 IF/μm2 at 100 kHz, which decreased slightly to 3.7 fF/μm2 at 6.0 GHz. It had a relatively high Q factor of 80 at 3 GHz. The leakage current density of the film was ∼ 1.07 nA/cm2 at 1 V and the leakage current mechanism was considered to be Schottky emission. The quadratic and linear voltage coefficients of capacitance of the film were -65.4 and -44.0 ppm/V at 100 kHz, respectively. The temperature coefficient of capacitance of the film was also low about 126.6 ppm/°C at 100 kHz. These results confirm that the amorphous BaTi4O9 film can be used as a high performance metal-insulator-metal capacitor. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Metallization properties of TiN/Al/Ti (metal-1) layers deposited by sputtering method were evaluated in a new 16 Mb FeRAM device. The two main features of the device were double W bit-line and Pt/(Bi,La) 4 Ti 3 O 12 /Pt ferroelectric capacitor. The metal-1 films were deposited on both the Pt top electrode and the W bit-line after fabricating the contact holes. The contact filling behaviors of the metal-1 layers were mainly depended on the pre-annealing condition performed before depositing the metal-1 layers. The optimized pre-annealing conditions was 400°C/N 2 /30 min on W bit-line. From the result, a 16 Mb FeRAM device was successfully developed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
