For a pair $(G,G')=(O(n+1,1), O(n,1))$ of reductive groups, we investigate intertwining operators (symmetry breaking operators) between principal series representations $I_\delta(V,\lambda)$ of $G$, and $J_\epsilon(W,\nu)$ of the subgroup $G'$. The representations are parametrized by finite-dimensional representations $V,W$ of $O(n)$ respectively of $O(n-1)$, characters $\delta$, $\varepsilon$ of O(1), and $\lambda, \nu \in C$. The multiplicty [V:W] of W occurring in the restriction $V|_{O(n-1)}$ is either 0 or 1. If $[V:W] \ne 0$ then we construct a holomorphic family of symmetry breaking operators and prove that dim $Hom_{G'}(I_{\delta}(V, \lambda)|_{G'}, J_{\epsilon}(W, \nu))$ is nonzero for all the parameters $\lambda$, $\nu$ and $\delta$, $\epsilon$, whereas if [V:W] = 0 there may exist sporadic differential symmetry breaking operators. We propose a "classification scheme" to find all matrix-valued symmetry breaking operators explicitly,and carry out this program completely when V and W are exterior tensor representations. In conformal geometry, our results yield the complete classification of conformal covariant operators from differential forms on a Riemannian manifold X to those on a submanifold Y in the model space $(X, Y) = (S^n, S^{n-1})$. We use these results to determine symmetry breaking operators for any pair of irreducible representations of G and the subgroup $G'$ with trivial infinitesimal character. Furthermore we prove the multiplicity conjecture by Gross and Prasad for tempered principal series representations of $(SO(n+1,1),SO(n,1))$ and also for 3 tempered representations $\Pi, \pi, \varpi$ of $SO(2m+2,1)$, $SO(2m+1,1)$ and $SO(2m,1)$ with trivial infinitesimal character. In this paper, cloud-based services aimed for the connectivity, monitoring, and management of the IoT devices are presented. To set up a network with a large number of devices in the constrained environment can be a challenge. Also, collecting, storing and analyzing data generated from sensors attached to the devices most often requires developing custom-made applications which imply time and cost consumption. Several cloud providers are offering IoT services that unite needed features into full solution offering connectivity between devices and the cloud, processing of data sent from devices and interaction with connected devices through the application. One of them is AWS IoT (Amazon Internet of Things) which is fully scalable, reliable and simple to use. This platform can collect data from a large number of different devices and connect them to endpoints for other tools, allowing a developer to tie received data into the independent application. Other aspects, like security, resource management, integration and centralized management are also covered. In this paper, we will evaluate the performance of the AWS IoT web services by connecting small, single-board computers, like Raspberry Pi through different scenarios.

Insee, the French statistical institute, has been developing for some years a data collection platform which includes a number of components, in particular a graphical questionnaire design and specification tool and a questionnaire generation tool targeting different support (web, paper...). This platform relies largely on DDI: the questionnaires are specified using the Data Collection module constructs, stored in a DDI metadata repository and fed into the questionnaire generator which produces the physical collection instruments. This is the most advanced example of active metadata used in production in the institute. Insee coordinates since the beginning of 2016 a European project which aims at fostering the reuse of statistical services between NSIs. For this project, Insee open-sourced its questionnaire generation tool, which was reused by SURS, the Slovenian NSI. A lot of work was also devoted to improving the packaging and documentation of the generator in order to maximize its reusability. The presentation will give more detail on the questionnaire designer and generator, and describe how the latter was reused by SURS. It will also detail the future roadmaps of the different tools and the prospects for further reuse.

In this paper, a comparison of Internet of Things protocols used for data transfer in Internet of Things constrained networks is presented. Setting up such a network with a large number of physical interconnected IoT devices can be a challenge. In the IoT world, one of the key challenges is to efficiently support M2M communication in constrained networks. This can be achieved using MQTT (Message Queuing Telemetry Transport) and CoAP (Constrained Application Protocol) protocols. Choosing the appropriate protocol can be difficult while developing IoT application. There are several conditions that need to be considered while determining which protocol should be used. In this paper, we will evaluate performance and compare these protocols through different scenarios.

Fault management function mostly rely on SNMP protocol and SNMP agent capabilities, where SNMP agents are implemented over different network elements. Structure of management information is described in Management Information Base (MIB) for every single SNMP agent class. Hence, integrated management systems needs to implement different SNMP managers capable to communicate with number of different SNMP agents, obtaining management information from real telecommunication network. Those managers are often called access modules. In order to decrease delivery time for SNMP management solutions, number of generic fault management MIBs are designed (e.g. Alarm Management Information Base). Theoretically, if different SNMP agents rely on the same management information base, only one SNMP manager (access module) is enough to manage different network elements. It is very logical way of thinking, if we consider that in real life different network elements share the same management information structure. For instance, alarm message from many different network elements consists of start time, probable cause, additional information, affected network element, etc. However, state of the art is not so idyllic, from the integrator's point of view. Number of MIBs exist in real telecommunications network. In this paper we will make short research on MIBs implemented on different network elements, in order to detect real integrator position in network management solution's development. At the end, solution is proposed for SNMP agent software development.

In this paper, a web-based Internet of things solution aimed for monitoring, tracking and analyzing data in agriculture area is proposed. The purpose of the presented solution is to facilitate monitoring of different manufacturing process in mentioned area using IoT technologies. A real time data is achieved using broker-based publishing/subscribing Message Queue Telemetry Transport protocol which is briefly described. Using this protocol limitations resulting from constrained networks in rural areas are avoided. Collected data from sensors is shown and stored in web part of the information system. An architecture of the web application is described as a client-server three-tier architecture in which the graphical user interface (presentation layer), application functions and logic (application layer) and computer data storage (database layer) are developed and maintained as independent modules, on separate platforms. This type of implementation is developed by the manufacturers need for monitoring and tracking data. This architecture is based on future concrete implementation, at least in segments, in several agricultural facilities in Virovitica-Podravina County.

Let Y be the locally symmetric space which is determined by G(ℝ) and by a sufficiently small σ-stable arithmetic subgroup Γ of G(ℚ). Then we show that the cuspidal cohomology of Y is non trivial. Moreover we give an estimate of the growth of the cuspidal cohomology if Γ shrinks to {e} in a certain way.

Microbiological analyses of fruits and vegetables produced by farms in Minnesota and Wisconsin were conducted to determine coliform and Escherichia coli counts and the prevalence of E. coli, Salmonella, and E. coli O157:H7. During the 2003 and 2004 harvest seasons, 14 organic farms (certified by accredited organic agencies), 30 semiorganic farms (used organic practices but not certified), and 19 conventional farms were sampled to analyze 2,029 preharvest produce samples (473 organic, 911 semiorganic, and 645 conventional). Produce varieties included mainly lettuces, leafy greens, cabbages, broccoli, peppers, tomatoes, zucchini, summer squash, cucumber, and berries. Semiorganic and organic farms provided the majority of leafy greens and lettuces. Produce samples from the three farm types had average coliform counts of 1.5 to 2.4 log most probable number per g. Conventional produce had either significantly lower or similar coliform populations compared with the semiorganic and organic produce. None of the produce samples collected during the 2 years of this study were contaminated with Salmonella or E. coli O157:H7. E. coli contamination was detected in 8% of the samples, and leafy greens, lettuces, and cabbages had significantly higher E. coli prevalence than did all the other produce types in both years for the three farm types. The prevalence of E. coli contamination by produce type was not significantly different between the three farm types during these 2 years, with the exception of organic leafy greens, in which E. coli prevalence was one-third that of semiorganic leafy greens in 2003. These results indicate that the preharvest microbiological quality of produce from the three types of farms was very similar during these two seasons and that produce type appears to be more likely than farm type to influence E. coli contamination.

The research examines the stock price reaction to the announcement of the adoption of supply chain management-enhancing tools and technologies to determine whether there is a significant response from the capital markets. The results show that the adoption of supply chain management-enhancement tools appears to be value creating. The strength of the stock price reaction is positively related to the degree of certainty regarding the publication date of the publication.

While strong relationships are consistently identified as a critical component of successful supply chain collaboration, many firms still engage in questionable business practices that threaten the trust and commitment that exists among trading partners. Survey results from logistics managers at manufacturing firms found that low to moderate levels of questionable business practices occur in relationships with customers and that the occurrence of these practices are related to lower reported levels of trust and commitment between trading partners. The results suggest that reducing questionable behaviors will increase trust and commitment, which should lead to stronger relationships and increased supply chain performance.

The proposal by Backhaus, Muehlfeld, and Okoye (2002) to design a business marketing text around a framework of customer-relationship types is provocative and spawns a useful debate on the issue of what should actually be taught in the business marketing course, particularly at the undergraduate level. We believe that the approach may increase the attention given to relationship marketing but do so by sacrificing coverage of core content that students and informed business marketing managers need to know. In the end, we opt for a more comprehensive approach in exploring strategy making for the business market while they chart a narrower and more specialized path.

Geochemical comparison between some metals (As, Cd, Cu, Pb, Se, V, Zn) emissions from an active volcano (Mt. Etna) and a highly industrialized area (Šalek Valley) showed some interesting similarities: in general, most of the elements emitted into the atmosphere do not return to the Earth’s surface and are therefore dispersed into the environment. Exceptions for Šalek Valley are Cd, which probably derives in large part from rock leaching, and in part As and Pb, which fall mostly as ash. Also, Etna’s emissions are richer in Cd and Cu, whereas industrial emissions at Šalek Valley are richer in V and Zn. All other metals have similar fluxes in the two types of emissions.

DISCRETE COMPONENTS OF SOME COMPLEMENTARY SERIES REPRESENTATIONS

Fully grown oocytes of Xenopus laevis undergo resumption of the meiotic cycle when treated with the steroid hormone progesterone. Previous studies have shown that meiotic maturation results in profound downregulation of specific endogenous membrane proteins in oocytes. To determine whether the maturation impacts the functional properties of exogenously expressed membrane proteins, we used cut-open recordings from Xenopus oocytes expressing several types of Na+and K+channels. Treatment of oocytes with progesterone resulted in a downregulation of heterologously expressed Na+and K+channels without a change in the kinetics of the currents. The time course of progesterone-induced ion channel inhibition was concentration dependent. Complete elimination of Na+currents temporally coincided with development of germinal vesicle breakdown, while elimination of K+currents was delayed by ∼2 h. Coexpression of human β1-subunit with rat skeletal muscle α-subunit in Xenopus oocytes did not prevent progesterone-induced downregulation of Na+channels. Addition of 8-bromo-cAMP to oocytes or injection of heparin before progesterone treatment prevented the loss of expressed currents. Pharmacological studies suggest that the inhibitory effects of progesterone on expressed Na+and K+channels occur downstream of the activation of cdc2 kinase. The loss of channels is correlated with a reduction in Na+channel immunofluorescence, pointing to a disappearance of the ion channel-forming proteins from the surface membrane.

The central knowledge areas that comprise the undergraduate business marketing course are detailed and linked to specific course design strategies that can be pursued to strengthen the skill set of marketing students and respond to the needs of important constituents.

We give a complete classification of intertwining operators (symmetry breaking operators) between spherical principal series representations of G=O(n+1,1) and G'=O(n,1). We construct three meromorphic families of the symmetry breaking operators, and find their distribution kernels and their residues at all poles explicitly.Symmetry breaking operators at exceptional discrete parameters are thoroughly studied. We obtain closed formulae for the functional equations which the composition of the the symmetry breaking operators with the Knapp-Stein intertwining operators of $G$ and G' satisfy, and use them to determine the symmetry breaking operators between irreducible composition factors of the spherical principal series representations of G and G'.
