This article explores the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to managing reproductive health in patients with autoimmune rheumatic diseases (ARDs), particularly during conception and pregnancy. It addresses the lack of information and care protocols for pregnant women with ARDs at medical centers. The article presents a case study of a university hospital in Northeast Mexico that has implemented a multidisciplinary care model consisting of three stages: preconception, prenatal, and postnatal. It also provides data on the demographics and pregnancy outcomes of patients treated at the clinic. The study emphasizes the significance of collaboration between medical specialties, family planning counseling, disease control before conception, and careful monitoring and medication management during pregnancy. It acknowledges the strengths and limitations of the model and underscores the need for comprehensive reproductive health care in rheumatology. [Extracted from the article]
