La Realidad Virtual (RV) permite que las personas se adentren en entornos tridimensionales generados por ordenador e interactúen con ellos. La capacidad para hacer sentir que el usuario está presente en una situación creada artificialmente la convierte en una herramienta con potencial para revolucionar la psicoterapia. La RV ha demostrado ser útil en el tratamiento de trastornos relacionados con la ansiedad, el estrés y la conducta alimentaria, y a la vez que muestra resultados prometedores en otras áreas. La RV también permite encarnarse en un avatar (virtual embodiment) lo que permite muchas posibilidades para recrear interacciones e incluso para estimular el diálogo con uno mismo. Hasta el momento, el foco de atención se ha centrado en la recreación de escenarios de la realidad externa, pero la representación de la realidad interna puede abrir una nueva frontera. EYME-Explore Your Meanings es una plataforma digital evolucionada de la técnica de rejilla que usa la RV para la exploración de la identidad personal. Permite mejorar la autoconciencia y el autoconocimiento, avanzando de esta forma el proceso psicoterapéutico en un contexto de terapia individual o de grupo. El uso de la RV en psicoterapia también genera retos que se deberán afrontar para comprobar su viabilidad. Es necesaria más investigación para conocer en profundidad el impacto que puede tener la RV en la prevención, evaluación y tratamiento de una gran variedad de situaciones y trastornos psicológicos.

A growing number of adolescents who engage in non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) have been reported worldwide. Despite numerous investigations about NSSI, this self-harming behavioral process mostly found among adolescents has not been examined much in non-western countries like the Philippines. This grounded theory study purports to investigate and understand the dynamic process of deliberate self-harm among 20 Filipino adolescents performing non-suicidal self-injury. Field texts were analyzed using repertory grid and with-in and cross-case analysis. Thick description of data and saturation, prolonged engagement, member checking technique, triangulation, theoretical sampling, bracketing, peer debriefers, self-reflective journals, and audit trails were likewise employed to ensure trustworthiness of findings. Results of the individual interviews conducted were able to explain the phenomenon and a four-phased process surfaced to characterize non-suicidal self-injury. The R.I.S.E. of the Phoenix illustrates how Filipino adolescents experience engaging with non-suicidal self-injury in four phases: (1) ruining, (2) impassing, (3) separating, and (4) emerging. Considering this process may equip psychological health personnel with the knowledge on relevant interventions in providing comprehensive support to Filipino adolescent self-harmers.

Culture plays an essential role in the success of product design, especially in the age of a global economy where there is a high probability of discrepancy between the designer's intention and the consumer's response. However, the role of culture is often challenging to identify and measure. In the current paper, we employed Repertory Grids (RG) to investigate differences in UK and Chinese participants' evaluations of designs, which were themselves from both UK and Chinese students. The techniques of Honey's Content Analysis (HCA) and Principal Components Analysis (PCA) were applied to integrate the analysis of both the collected qualitative and quantitative data. The results show that the two groups tended to focus on a similar range of design aspects (i.e. aesthetics, form/shape, usability, creativity, and functionality), but apply different criteria in evaluating such aspects.The UK and Chinese designs were found to be distinctive from each other and tended to appeal more to the people from the same cultural background. The findings reveal the interplay between culture and design and underline the importance of integrating culture into design education.

In this study, the researchers propose a complementary methodological approach to determine how much participants may benefit from a psychoeducation program based on emotion-focused therapy (EFT). We designed the project as a multiple quantitative case study conducted with eight participants enrolled at a university in the Eastern Mediterranean region of Turkey. All participants were undergraduates in a psychological counselling and guidance program in the 2018–2019 spring semester. We collected research data through the repertory grid technique, which is a semi-structured interview method. We detected the distance between the elements (actual self, ideal self, me before the psychoeducation program started) by calculating the standardized Euclidean distance coefficient. Our findings showed that the distance between the elements of actual self and me before the psychoeducation program started was significant. Findings at the phenomenon level showed that the psychoeducation program applied in this study was successful. Findings indicated that therapeutic success could be measured through the idiographic findings at the individual level.

Starting from 2009-2018 there has been an increase in the number of hotel resorts in Indonesia, so that the level of competition is higher and building a brand positioning agrotourism-based resort hotels can not only by creating regular marketing campaigns. The study used review data from online platforms tripadvisor.com. This study reveals the brand positioning of resort hotels and mapping the competitive landscape with the UGC approach to identifying the competing attributes of resort hotels in Bali. This study detects brand attributes using customer preferences as well as perceptual performance. Therefore, this study combines content analysis (UGC) and repertory grid (RGA) to answer research objectives. 13,784 customer reviews of the six best beach resort hotels in Bali are used to explore and visualize the competitive landscape. Sample determination techniques in this study using non-probability sampling approach. The findings of this study, identified the dominant agrotourism attributes in Bali are view and garden. This study detected that 66.67% of hotel resorts in Bali have asymmetric competitive model competition. Hotel resorts in Bali is mostly competing on PC1 which is a basic hotel offer. This research not only recommends competing for attributes to strengthen brand positioning in customers' minds but also competes with optimal allocation of hotel resort resources.

The topic of self-perception within management has become a subject catching more and more attention. The necessity for leaders’ self-awareness when aiming at high employee satisfaction and productivity still bears a lot of research potential. Developing self-awareness and efficacy are paths that do not have an end or a quota to reach. It is a rather mindset like a tank that can always be filled up more. Leaders’ self-awareness is crucial to improve their abilities and much more inaccurate self-perception can become harmful for an organisations’ performance. Surprisingly, the influence of managers’ self-perception on leadership behaviour and leadership effectiveness has only been studied little in contemporary literature. The main purpose of this article is to identify organizational factors that influence leader’s self-perception and how an organization can develop this characteristic of their managers. Therefore, this paper aims at identifying corporate cultural causes for managers’ distorted self-perception. This task leads evidently to the topic of organizational silence, which is understood as the absence of upward-directed feedback of employees’ input of ideas. Consequently, a corporate culture inherited by organizational silence impacts a manager’s self-perception. Additionally, the contextual literature research on self-perception guided to the subject of error management. It becomes evident that error management functions as a link between organizational silence and managers’ overestimation. Summarizing the article studies the interlinkages of these three research areas and combined them with a new research and hypothesis model tested on a repertory grid data set consisting of 782 personal constructs of a specific corporate culture. Individual construct psychology was chosen as an investigative methodology to ensure unbiased qualitative results. This psychologically grounded methodology is proven to make socially desirable results unlikely due to the intuitive interview structure. The results of this research give practitioners advice for developing corporate culture and self-perception and efficacy of people in leadership positions.

Social communication is a core deficit of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) play a key role in evaluating social skills of individuals with autism. Use of person-centered assessment tools in individuals with autism to explore social communication may facilitate improved consideration of perspectives of individuals with autism, which is critical for developing interventions and supports that align with their perspectives and values. An assessment process called the repertory grid can be used to explore one’s personal construction systems as they relate to social relationships. This article describes a process for administering this person-centered diagnostic process in individuals with autism using a semi-structured format established by Hess and colleagues. Data obtained through repertory grids may expand upon information gleaned from traditional assessment protocols when evaluating social communication strengths and challenges of individuals with autism. Furthermore, it offers clinicians and clients insight into clients’ unique personal experiences and relationships.
