In recent years, music teaching in higher education has developed quickly, and attracted more and more attention. However, there is not yet a mature method to evaluate the education and teaching (ET) effect of music teaching in colleges. To solve the problem, this paper combines modern information technology and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation (FCE) to design and realize a FCE system for assessing the ET effect of music teaching in higher education. Firstly, the functional and non-functional requirements of the system were analyzed in detail. On this basis, the overall architecture and functional modules of the system were designed and realized. Application results show that the proposed system operated stably, and met the needs of ET effect evaluation. The research results are of theoretical and practical significance to the promotion of information-based teaching evaluation, the enhancement of management efficiency and quality, and the improvement of ET effect of music teaching in colleges.

This paper discusses the author’s first encounter with the Japanese language at the age of 23 and documents his continuing response to it up to the present time. At first, the language learning methodology he had used before failed and proved to be inappropriate for learning Japanese. Then came the realization that learning a foreign language needs some previous knowledge to build on. The search for the most efficient way to master Japanese brought the author to receptive multilingualism, which by chance opens up new vistas for the aspiring learner to improve listening skills. The physicality of speech and the consequent importance of some form of outside stimulation for its development are discussed. Mention is made of how he came upon the idea of adapting childhood techniques in learning how to read to the acquisition of reading competence in the Japanese language. In connection with this, the author makes another digression on the relationship he perceives as existing between active and passive language skills, and from this proceeds with the mention of how this might be applicable to his progress to date in learning Japanese and why, for better or worse, this would not normally apply to classroom acquisition of Japanese either inside or outside of Japan today

The opposites, science and the arts, have always enjoyed a relationship. Recently, this relationship has been expressed in sonification, a branch of science seeking to add sound to data, giving data music-like intelligibility. Scientists believe that our aural capabilities are a potentially rich source of data that could assist in problem solving. In 2020, a sonic realization of the coronavirus was generated using its spike protein data. This sonification endeavoured to probe the coronavirus aurally. However, the creators of this sonified scientific probe are now claiming that their experiment is also a music composition. We examine this claim. This paper is underpinned by the conviction that not all sound is music. Music cannot represent anything other than itself because our understanding of music is always via allegory. Therefore, the efforts of Buehler, it is argued, are misdirected and trivial when placed in the stressed socio-political context of COVID-19. © 2021 University of the Witwatersrand.

This article shows that building issues have not been tackled fundamentally differently in Europe and Japan despite large cultural differences. Different cultural expressions must not necessarily be equated with different thinking. The paper contrasts two apparently contradictory views. Numerous analyses of Japanese “otherness” in “Western” as well as local perception dominate the literature. But the results of extensive architectural field surveys seem to indicate the contrary. These results show similar and equal backgrounds and conditions resulting in similar and equal building types and techniques. They show that our ways of addressing a task are prompted by pragmatism. Broadly identical solutions were developed worldwide long before globalization. Yet this realization does not allow us to conclude that equal appearances can be taken to be equal in content.

In this paper, we will try to show how formal linguistics applied to the study of diachrony can be a fundamental asset for research (and consequently also for teaching at a university level) in the field of French language and literature. We will treat successively the analysis of the support verbs (§2), the realization verbs (§3), the intensity collocations (§4) and the pragmatically restricted clichés (§5). In each section, we will present and discuss numerous examples in medieval French accompanied by their published translations into contemporary French.

PAI learning is expected to produce changes in the behavior, attitudes and morals of learners, because actually the main orientation of PAI learning is the realization of learners who are able to practice Islamic teachings in accordance with the material that has been studied. Based on the above thoughts, this study aims to reveal how PAI learning outcomes are implemented for the discipline of learners in the school environment. This research uses qualitative methods, namely revealing data and facts in the form of sentences that can be understood by readers. The result of this study is that PAI learning results have not been implemented in the discipline of learners, the conclusion is based on research data that shows there are still learners who have not instilled discipline in the school environment.

Every individual is unique and may serve a unique purpose in this life. Education is widely accepted to be the means of transformation of individuals so that they may achieve their unique success or create their own lives. However, not every individual seems to be realizing their true potential. This paper explores the concept of entropy in education system as a force that is usually imagined to oppose realization of potential of an individual during life in this phenomenal world. Alternatively, the same may provide an impetus that is necessary to bring in organization in oneself to realize the hidden potential. A one group Pretest-Posttest quasi-experimental design was used to draw the conclusions on data obtained from participants of workshops in three different modes, viz. face-to-face Pre COVID-19, face-to-face in COVID-19 with SOPs, and online in COVID-19. Realization of an individual's potential was represented as a dependent variable, i.e. transformation in cognition, skills, and attitude while the independent variables taken into account were the meaningful interactions of an individual with peers and advanced learners in a designed environment. It was inferred from the results that transformation in learners' cognition (6-30 %), skills (0-20 %), and attitude (5-32 %) occurred through human discourse, in a community of inquiry.

ResumenEn esta investigación se presentan los resultados del estudio de las funciones pragmático-discursivas desempeñadas por oraciones escindidas del tipo “lo que pasa es que” en narraciones conversacionales de experiencia personal generadas por hablantes chilenos. Se analizan 54 narraciones conversacionales con dos propósitos: clasificar las oraciones escindidas según la parte de la estructura narrativa que introducen y ofrecer una taxonomía de funciones pragmático-discursivas que desempeñan dichas construcciones. Entre las principales conclusiones se destaca que las oraciones escindidas desempeñan tres macro-funciones: focalizadora –aparentemente la más relevante para la cadena narrativa–, introductora de atenuaciones justificantes y orientadora, cada una con diferentes posibilidades de realización.

In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in the study of research abstracts and its rhetorical structure. While the number of studies in rhetorical moves of RA abstracts are growing, there is still little attention given to thesis and dissertation abstracts especially in relation to the link between genre knowledge and its rhetorical realization. The present study aims to identify the variations of rhetorical move manifestation in abstracts of master’s theses and dissertations written by local and international graduate lecturers and explore the relationship between the manifestations and the author’s genre knowledge development. This study employed a qualitative approach with Hyland’s (2000) five-move analysis model as the main framework of the study. The findings revealed that there were similarities in the rhetorical structure of abstracts by the local and international graduates. The study also found that educational level and supportive academic environment play an important role in author’s genre knowledge trajectories. The findings discovered in the study provide a clearer picture to help in the development of a universal guideline for abstract writing in final papers for higher education.

An allegorical thought experiment occurring in a pseudo Huxleyean world in the future is conducted, in which "Euclidean" geometry has been forgotten and can only be retrieved by traversing backward in time, physically and virtually by two protagonists, Alpha and Beta, inspired by the challenge issued by their teacher Aleph 1. In the year 136 A.H (After Huxley, or late twenty-first century of the Common Era), all instruction occurs virtually. Mathematics is the exclusive purview of 0.01% of society (the alphas). The thought experiment leads to the discovery and realization from the two protagonists that Euclidean geometry is possible using sensorimotor functions with tools called a straight edge and compass or simply a rope with knots. As an ode to Aldous Huxley (1894-1963) this article is deliberately in the form of a satirical provocation that examines the interaction of technology with the learning of mathematics in a dystopian future. A prolog explaining the context of the thought experiment along with a coda with implications for the immediate future in the learning of mathematics is made. A glossary with terms unfamiliar to the reader is also provided.

In this study, a novel design of smartphone endoscope adapter is introduced. The different parts of the proposed adapter are firstly designed in consideration of the use of flashlight smartphones as the light source in order to securely fit the endoscope with the smartphone. The entire system combining Smartphone and endoscope via this adapter is then designed in 3D. As a result, Simulation shows strong results in terms of fitting this system. The prototype of the proposed adapter is printed by the 3D printer and is then tested by combining Karl Storz endoscope of 0°, 4mm, 50mm, and iPhone 6s. The inner hand can be considered as dark interior as similar of the nose, ear, etc., is chosen to make this test, in which the significant photo with acceptable color and resolution is obtained. It can be concluded that this system provides a good benefit of its use in continuous development countries (LMICs) and in difficult times such as COVID-19 so that the health care providers can easily share these photos between specialists themselves or and with the patient through the internet especially for the accuracy treatment. © 2021 Seventh Sense Research Group®.

The article analyzes modern scientific approaches to the understanding of the essence of aesthetic competence, its importance in the process of the realization of the professional activity of the correctional teacher. At the current stage of the development of the educational sphere in Ukraine, the integration of children with special needs into the general education space becomes an actual problem, which necessitates a significant update of the content and methodological provision of training of specialists in new conditions. Anesthetic competence can become an effective means of raising the level of formation of professional competence of a future specialist. However, despite the high requirements for teacher training to work with children with special needs, on awareness of the need to enhance the formation of aesthetic competence, an analysis of scientific works allows identifying the lack of systematic theoretical and methodological education of future defectologists for the effective realization of the formation of basic professional competences, including - aesthetic one. In recent years as an effective mean of correctional education the modern ICT are considered. It has been found out that information training technologies while organizing correctional education are actively developed by such researchers as O. Lehkyi, M. Sheremet, H. Zahurska, S. Myronova, O. Kachurovska, T. Dehtiarenko, N. Savinova, S. Trykoz (2019), etc. The purpose of the study is to study the potentials, opportunities, prospects for the introduction of a corpus in the process of forming the artistic-aesthetic competence of future correctional teachers. It has been concluded that the corpus may be defined as a significant collection of language data presented in electronic form, designed to achieve educational goals. Modern corpora are the effective instrument of formation of the system of the knowledge about language, history, art, and culture of a country. In other words, the modern corpus may be considered as an innovative and influential educational instrument. It has been concluded that the corpus promotes the development of cognitive, affective, creative, reflective components of artistic-aesthetic competence, leads to the overall general development of future correctional teachers.

The q-rung orthopair fuzzy sets (q-ROFSs), originally proposed by Yager, can express uncertain data to give decision-makers more space. The q-ROFS is a useful tool for describing imprecision, ambiguity, and inaccuracy, and the point operator is a useful aggregation operator which can manage the uncertainty and thus obtain intensive information within the decision-making process. In the latest realization, the linguistic q-rung orthopair fuzzy number (Lq-ROFN) is suggested where the linguistic variables are expressed as membership and non-membership of the Lq-ROFN. In this article, we propose the q-rung orthopair fuzzy linguistic family of point aggregation operators for linguistic q-rung orthopair fuzzy sets (Lq-ROFSs). Firstly, with the arithmetic and geometric operators, we introduce a new class of point-weighted aggregation operators to aggregate linguistic q-rung orthopair fuzzy information such as linguistic q-rung orthopair fuzzy point weighted averaging (Lq-ROFPWA) operators, linguistic q-rung orthopair fuzzy point weighted geometric (Lq-ROFPWG) operators, linguistic q-rung orthopair fuzzy generalized point weighted averaging (Lq-ROFGPWA) operators and linguistic q-rung orthopair fuzzy generalized point weighted geometric (Lq-ROFGPWG) operators. Then, we discuss some special cases and study the properties of these proposed operators. Based on Lq-ROFPWA and Lq-ROFPWG operators, a novel multi attribute group decision-making (MAGDM) methodology is designed to process the linguistic q-rung orthopair fuzzy information. Finally, we provide an example to demonstrate the applicability of the MAGDM. Consequently, the outstanding superiority of the developed methodology is assisted in a variety of ways by parameter exploration and thorough comparative analysis.

Статья посвящена исследованию лингвистических средств реализации персуазивного эффекта в англоязычной видеорекламе. Реклама является важнейшим компонентом общественной коммуникации в силу стремительного развития промышленности и торговли в современной социальной среде. Именно рекламный дискурс диктует законы актуального и неактуального, тем самым побуждая потенциального потребителя приобрести определенный товар. Возникает закономерный вопрос, связанный с правилами, согласно которым действует рекламный дискурс, и приемами, посредством коих создатели рекламных текстов реализуют коммуникативное намерение воздействия. Авторы приведут некоторые особенности рекламного текста как явления, далее сконцентрируются на специфике видеорекламы.

The existing experience of the society regarding the functioning of leaders in it is considered, where education plays not the least role. Certain ways and means of identifying people with leadership potential have been identified, but there is still a possibility of errors in their selection and further professional management training. The main question of the possibility for each person to be a leader, which is the basis of the methodology of their identification and training, is considered. The nature of the answer to this question affects the meaning of social life and joint activities of people, their socio -psychological well-being. It is determined that the oppor tunity for a person to become a leader is determined by a combination of both objective and subjective factors. They can both contribute to the successful realization of this opportunity, and complicate it, which requires a systematic analysis of these factors, among which the subjective factors are more important, because it depends on the person whether he wants and can be a leader.

As part of a research project in computer science on the realization of a cryptographic system using Arabic poems as secret keys ( Azizi, 2012 ), we defined the formal structure of the rhythms of Arabic words. These rhythms, as they were studied by Al Khalil Al Farahidi ( ), are the sequences of movement and silence, which take into account only the pronounced letters. The metric prosody of the Arabic language was designed by its founders in a fundamentally quantitative way. We will demonstrate in this paper that the rhythms of Arabic words are variants of Fibonacci words.

The paper presents the authority data provided by the German authority file (GND), its hisrory and conceptual founding in FRBR and FRAD. Referring to selected examples, the text scrutinizes carefully the potential and obstacles of using name authority data in digital humanities projects. However, the focus lies on the newly implemented work authority data that promises to be highly relevant for digital musicology. Challenges of theoretical concepts as well as practical realization are shown and different application scenarios are discussed. The author calls for a lively exchange between musicologists and librarians on the design and potential of the GND as basic musicological ontology.

Neste artigo, pretendo desenvolver a hipótese de que há duas maneiras de pensar o fenômeno da precariedade. A primeira maneira consiste em tomar o precário, o vulnerável, naquilo que impede a realização de um projeto de vida, não importa em que domínio se coloque. O segundo modo de abordar a precariedade é concebê-la não como o que impede mas como o que é parte crucial da realização incerta, indeterminada de uma vida. Nesses termos, o precário é o traço do que se move entre o fazer e o não fazer. O objetivo é rastrear marcas de precariedade ou vulnerabilidade que se fabricam em certa modalidade de discurso no campo das narrativas fílmicas sobre vida de cantores. Quero analisar um caso de cinebiografia, entre muitos outros, em que atos corporais de enunciação e práticas de vida rondam a voz e a colocam em risco. Aqui o objeto da análise é a narrativa fílmica sobre a trágica história da cantora britânica Amy Winehouse: Amy, de Asif Kapadia, 2015 .

Background. Special linguistic researches of terminological units of different branches of medicine allow analyzing in details the ways of creating the systems of clinical terminology from different aspects: historical, scientific, cultural, linguistic and semantic. There is a wide area of terminology related to the clinical and experimental endocrino­logy within general medical terminological system. The purpose of the study: to demonstrate the structure of endocrine medical terms — eponyms through the prism of systematization of methodological researches on eponymic vocabulary. Materials and methods. The actual material received as a result of a total choice of eponyms (there were 296 terms) from the “Reference dictionary for endocrinologist”, which was composed by the scientists of V. Danilevsky Institute of Endocrine Pathology Problems and Kharkiv Medical Academy of Postgraduate education — A.V. Kozakov, N.A. Kravchun, I.M. Ilyina, M.I. Zubko, O.A. Goncharova, I.V. Cherniavska has 10,000 endocrine terms, the authors successfully streamlined medical terms of the clinical and experimental endocrinology into the vocabulary. The method of total choice of terms from professional literature, the descriptive method and distributive method were used in the study that allowed distinguishing lexical and semantic features of eponymic terms in the branch of endocrinology. Results. The obtained results point out to the modernity of studies in the field of clinical and experimental endocrinology, which is due to the fact that this is the oldest terminology, by the example of which it is possible to trace the ways of formation, development and improvement of terms, the realization of semantic processes, certain trends, ways and means of word formation. Conclusions. The results of the research on the above mentioned sublanguage of clinical medicine at the level of linguistic observations of the functio­ning in dictionaries and scientific works will not only highlight the linguistic aspects of professional medical terms, but also will help the linguists to master the etymology of professional terms.

To respond to the needs of digital transformation, universities must continue to play their role as proving ground for educating the future generation and innovation. The article is devoted to overview, discussion, and investigation of application in higher education of two modern information technologies: big data and internet of things. The article identifies the role of analytics, based on big data, in improvement of education process and outlines the challenges, related with big data mining, storage, and security. Proposed statements are based on practical experience of the authors; architecture of program and methodological solution are the focus of the article. The article contributes to theory by the new approach to combination of big data and internet of things technologies in educational resources and, at the same time, includes implications for practice, presenting examples of the approach's realization and sharing the authors' experiences of such realization.

Purpose of the article. To study the process of the emergence of stage truth in the live-action puppet art. To define the peculiarity of creating stage truth by the expressive means of the puppet theatre. To analyze the theoretical works by Gordon Craig concerning the aesthetic concept of "ьber-marionette". To designate the ways of realization of stage truth in puppet theatre with the help of Gordon Craig`s "ьber-marionette" concept. Methodology of the research consists in the application of methods of system analysis, analogy, comparison, and opposition to analyze the "ьber-marionette" concept in comparative description with the expressive means and aesthetic principles of the live-action puppet art. The scientific novelty of the article is in the view on the nature of stage truth, in considering Gordon Craig`s "ьber-marionette" concept in the context of psychophysical image creation in puppet theatre and in searching for the ways to realize stage truth of puppet theatre in the context of new puppeteer`s artistic techniques. Conclusions. A live-action puppet, regardless of its system, genre restrictions, and movement characteristics, obeys its own conventional truth. The Puppeteer has Gordon Craig's stage truth. Gordon Craig in his theory of the "ьber-marionette" substantiated a new kind of stage truth needed by the puppeteer. Thanks to it the puppeteer can transform in his own way and even identify himself with the doll image. However, Craig did not elaborate on the actor's practice of achieving such stage truth. Guided by his theoretical works, one can only make an assumption about the practical implementation of the "ьber-marionette" theory in the stage practice of the live-action puppet art.
