Una de las características de la prosa de Rulfo es un laconismo que permite construir personajes a partir de pinceladas que aprovechan el potencial evocativo del lenguaje, eliminan las digresiones y omiten las descripciones. En Rulfo los personajes femeninos desbordan los estereotipos de virgen o madre y se instalan en el centro de cada relato; aun sin voz, ellos disparan la acción de varios relatos, son definitivos en la resolución de los conflictos, favorecen el lucimiento lírico del narrador e irradian una vitalidad cuyos signos fundamentales son la belleza física, el erotismo y la ternura. Abstract One characteristic of Rulfo’s prose is a laconism that allows to construct characters with brushstrokes that take advantage of potential evocative language; they eliminate digressions and omit descriptions. In Rulfo the feminine characters exceed the stereotypes of virgin or mother and are installed in the center of short stories. Skew-polynomial rings, or Ore extensions, constitute an important class in noncommutative ring theory. These structures are currently studied from different points of view such as ideal theory, order theory, Galois theory, homological algebras, etc. Computationally, Ore extensions appear in the context of uncoupling and solving systems of linear differential and difference equations in closed form. In this short note we let K denote a division ring, α: K $rarr; K a ring endomorphism and δ: K → K an α-derivation. We determine the involutions in the Ore extension K[x; α, δ]. Los anillos de polinomios torcidos, o extensiones de Ore, forman una clase importante en la teoría de anillos noconmutativos. Tales estructuras son actualmente estudiadas desde diversos puntos de vista en matemáticas tales como la teoría de ideales en álgebra, la teoría del orden, la teoría de Galois, el álgebra homológica, etc. En aplicaciones, las extensiones de Ore aparecen en el desacoplamiento y posterior solución explícita de algunos sistemas de ecuaciones diferenciales lineales y en diferencias. En esta nota consideramos un cuerpo no conmutativo (o anillo de división) K, un endomorsmo de anillos α: K → K y una α-derivación δ: K → K. Luego se determinan y caracterizan las involuciones en la extensión de Ore K[x; α, δ].

La empresa Clean Energy S.A.C. plantea el uso de energías renovables a través de paneles fotovoltaicos. Esta tecnología permite reducir el costo del consumo de servicios básicos de electricidad que se toman de empresas de distribución eléctrica. El estudio de mercado indica que hay una oportunidad para penetrar en el segmento de empresas que forman parte del Sistema Eléctrico Interconectado Nacional (SEIN), principalmente, transmisores, distribuidores y clientes libres. Se sabe que las tarifas eléctricas han venido incrementándose en los últimos años y sumado a la necesidad para disminución de la contaminación ambiental han hecho que nuestra empresa sea altamente atractiva para dar soluciones en energía renovable a las empresas del SEIN. La matriz de evaluación de factores externos es de 3,82 por lo que existen oportunidades para aprovechar en el mercado, el comercio globalizado, los avances tecnológicos y la responsabilidad social empresarial con el medioambiente que permiten el desarrollo de negocios exitosos en fuentes de energía renovable. El grado de atracción de nuestra empresa es de 3,9. Los resultados de las diferentes matrices, indican que las estrategias recomendadas para nuestra empresa corresponden a la penetración de mercado (1, 2 y 3 año) y desarrollo del producto (4 y 5 año) donde la ventaja competitiva radica en el conocimiento y redes colaborativas de los recursos profesionales tanto en ingeniería como en nuevos negocios. Nuestra estrategia de diferenciación permitirá tener un nivel de acercamiento constante con el cliente que garantice excelentes niveles de servicio y generen fidelidad basado en la calidad del servicio que se entrega en sus instalaciones. We report a genome-wide association scan for facial features in ∼6,000 Latin Americans. We evaluated 14 traits on an ordinal scale and found significant association (P values, Humans show great diversity in facial appearance and this variation is highly heritable. Here, Andres Ruiz-Linares and colleagues examined facial features in admixed Latin Americans and identify genome-wide associations for 14 facial traits, including four gene loci (RUNX2, GLI3, DCHS2 and PAX1) influencing nose morphology.

Iron-doped TiO2 catalysts were prepared by impregnation in order to study their photocatalytic activity in the treatment of wastewater from the textile industry. Characterization of the catalysts before and after reaction was performed using techniques including total surface area measurement, X-Ray diffraction and elemental analysis via X-Ray fluorescence. Varying pH conditions, H2O2 concentrations and catalyst quantities were evaluated during the photocatalytic reactions. Fe-TiO2 catalysts were shown to be highly active in the reduction of chemical oxygen demand (% COD) and % color reduction in the water treated. Catalizadores de TiO2 dopado con hierro se prepararon por impregnación para estudiar su actividad fotocatalítica en el tratamiento de aguas residuales de la industria textil; la caracterización de los catalizadores antes y después de la reacción incluyó área superficie total, difracción de rayos X y análisis elemental por medio de fluorescencia de rayos X. Durante la reacción fotocatalitca se evaluaron varias condiciones de pH, concentración de H2O2 y cantidad de catalizador; los catalizadores de Fe-TiO2 demostraron una alta actividad para la reducción de la Demanda Química de Oxigeno (% DQO) y de % Color de las aguas tratadas.

We report a genome-wide association scan in over 6,000 Latin Americans for features of scalp hair (shape, colour, greying, balding) and facial hair (beard thickness, monobrow, eyebrow thickness). We found 18 signals of association reaching genome-wide significance (P values 5 × 10−8 to 3 × 10−119), including 10 novel associations. These include novel loci for scalp hair shape and balding, and the first reported loci for hair greying, monobrow, eyebrow and beard thickness. A newly identified locus influencing hair shape includes a Q30R substitution in the Protease Serine S1 family member 53 (PRSS53). We demonstrate that this enzyme is highly expressed in the hair follicle, especially the inner root sheath, and that the Q30R substitution affects enzyme processing and secretion. The genome regions associated with hair features are enriched for signals of selection, consistent with proposals regarding the evolution of human hair., By examining Latin American individuals of mixed European, Native American and African ancestry, Adhikari et al. identify novel loci influencing various features of facial and scalp hair. The study also provides experimental evidence that one of the implicated genes (PRSS53) is expressed in the hair follicle and that the top associated variant alters processing of this enzyme.

Se evaluó el comportamiento de siete genotipos de cebolla ante la salinidad a partir de la fase de trasplante. El estrés salino se indujo adicionando al sustrato de arena una solución de CaSO4, MgSO4 y NaCl (1:2,5:3) en diferentes concentraciones que permitieron alcanzar conductividades eléctricas (CE) de 6, 8 y 10 dS·m-1, respectivamente, manteniendo un tratamiento control. Después de 40 días de estrés salino se midió el área foliar total, la biomasa foliar y radical, y al momento de la cosecha se determinó el diámetro y peso fresco del bulbo, expresando los resultados en porcentaje relativo al control. Con la salinidad a 6 dS·m-1, ‘Granex-429’ mostró la menor reducción del área foliar respecto a las plantas no estresadas y ‘Texas-502’ presentó la mayor disminución, mientras que al aumentar la CE el grado de afectación fue igual entre los genotipos. El mayor porcentaje de biomasa foliar y radical en relación al control lo obtuvo ‘Altagracia’ a 6 dS·m-1; sin embargo, a 8 y 10 dS·m-1 éste fue superado por ‘Granex-429’, ‘Guadalupe’ y ‘Campo Lindo’, en tanto que ‘Texas-502’ y ‘Texas-438’ fueron los más afectados en todos los tratamientos. El diámetro y peso freso del bulbo mostraron diferencias entre genotipos sólo a 6 dS·m-1, siendo ‘Texas-502’ el más afectado en ambas variables y ‘Guadalupe’, ‘Granex-429’ y ‘Campo Lindo’ las que alcanzaron el mayor porcentaje de peso fresco del bulbo. La CE de 6 dS·m-1 permitió visualizar más claramente el comportamiento diferencial de los genotipos ante las sales, de los cuales ‘Granex-429’ y ‘Texas-502’ presentaron menor y mayor grado de sensibilidad, respectivamente. Performance of seven onion genotypes under saline conditions in sand culture was evaluated since the transplant time. Salt stress was induced with a solution containing CaSO4, MgSO4 and NaCl (1:2.5:3) with electric conductivity (EC) of 6. 8 and 10 dS·m-1, respectively, using a control treatment. Forty days after salt stress being applied, total leaf area, leaf and root biomass were measured, and diameter and fresh weight of the bulb at harvest time. At the level of 6 dS·m-1 ‘Granex-429’ showed lesser leaf area reduction when compared to non treated plants, while in ‘Texas-502’ higher reduction was observed; however, as EC increased the effect was similar in both genotypes. Higher leaf and root biomass percentage was observed in ‘Altagracia’ at 6 dS·m-1; however, these variables were even higher in ‘Granex-429’, ‘Guadalupe’ and ‘Campo Lindo’ at 8 and 10 dS·m-1, while ‘Texas-502’ and ‘Texas-438’ were more affected in all treatments. Genotypes showed differences in diameter and fresh weight of the bulb only when treated with 6 dS·m-1, being ‘Texas-502’ more severely affected, while ‘Guadalupe’, ‘Granex-429’ and ‘Campo Lindo’ were less affected. Differential performance in genotypes was more evident at EC 6 dSm-1, and ‘Granex-429’ and ‘Texas-502’ presented the lowest and highest degree of salt sensitivity, respectively.

Here we report a genome-wide association study for non-pathological pinna morphology in over 5,000 Latin Americans. We find genome-wide significant association at seven genomic regions affecting: lobe size and attachment, folding of antihelix, helix rolling, ear protrusion and antitragus size (linear regression P values 2 × 10−8 to 3 × 10−14). Four traits are associated with a functional variant in the Ectodysplasin A receptor (EDAR) gene, a key regulator of embryonic skin appendage development. We confirm expression of Edar in the developing mouse ear and that Edar-deficient mice have an abnormally shaped pinna. Two traits are associated with SNPs in a region overlapping the T-Box Protein 15 (TBX15) gene, a major determinant of mouse skeletal development. Strongest association in this region is observed for SNP rs17023457 located in an evolutionarily conserved binding site for the transcription factor Cartilage paired-class homeoprotein 1 (CART1), and we confirm that rs17023457 alters in vitro binding of CART1., The shape of the pinna varies widely in the general human population but the genetic basis of this variation is unknown. Here Adhikari et al. conduct a genome-wide association study in Latin Americans and discover seven gene regions influencing pinna morphology, including EDAR and TBX15.
