Ada Shopping Mall is located at the corner of Radnička and Paštrovićeva Street in Belgrade, closed to Lake Ada Ciganlija. The building has a gross area of about 100.000m². It consisted of reinforced concrete structure with three underground and four above-ground levels and a steel roof structure. The foundation pit protection was made by bored and bored secant piles in combination with two different Top-Down methods during construction. The excavation depth was up to 25 m. As the building was built in rock mass, during excavation blasting was applied. During construction a monitoring system was implemented. This paper provides an overview of the construction process of shopping mall.

Introduction/Objective. Acute pancreatitis (AP) is a relatively common disease which in most patients has favorable course. However, in approximately 20% patients, the course of the disease is more severe with high mortality (40–50%). The evaluation of disease severity is now primarily based on protocols that includes clinical, laboratory, and radiographic diagnostic procedures, APACHE II score, Ranson score, CT index, and CT necrosis score. Key cells in the immunopathogenesis of AP are T-lymphocytes, and recent studies indicate the role of Th2 and their effector cytokines: interleukin (IL) -4 and interleukin (IL) -5. The purpose of our study was to determine the potential clinical value of IL-4 and IL-5 as biochemical markers for predicting development of severe, necrotizing form of acute pancreatitis with systemic complication such as systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS). Methods. This prospective study included 240 patients hospitalized at The Clinic for Emergency Surgery of Clinical Center of Serbia as AP. Levels of IL-4 and IL-5 in serum were detected using commercial Bender Med Systems (BMS716FF) kits. Results. IL-4 and IL-5 were statistically significant increased on the second day of hospitalization with maximum values on the third day. In patients with severe AP complicated with necrosis and/or sepsis values were rising all through the seventh day. Conclusion. Levels of IL-4 and IL-5 in peripheral blood correlate with SIRS, Ranson score and clinical outcome in AP patients, therefore these cytokines are potential early biomarkers of disease progression and related complications.

Oregano is one of the most used culinary herb and it is often adulterated with cheaper plants. In this study, GC–MS was used for identification and quantification of metabolites from 104 samples of oregano (Origanum vulgare and O. onites) adulterated with olive (Olea europaea), venetian sumac (Cotinus coggygria) and myrtle (Myrtus communis) leaves, at five different concentration levels. The metabolomics profiles obtained after the two-step derivatization, involving methoxyamination and silanization, were subjected to multivariate data analysis to reveal markers of adulteration and to build the regression models on the basis of the oregano-to-adulterants mixing ratio. Orthogonal partial least squares enabled detection of oregano adulterations with olive, Venetian sumac and myrtle leaves. Sorbitol levels distinguished oregano samples adulterated with olive leaves, while shikimic and quinic acids were recognized as discrimination factor for adulteration of oregano with venetian sumac. Fructose and quinic acid levels correlated with oregano adulteration with myrtle. Orthogonal partial least squares discriminant analysis enabled discrimination of O. vulgare and O. onites samples, where catechollactate was found to be discriminating metabolite.

Smart grids and the reliability of the power system issues are discussed in the paper. Smart Grids have emerged as a mean to increase the efficiency of energy systems around the world. Based on the analysis of Smart Grid implementation, liberalization of the electricity market and system reliability, it is concluded that Smart Grid has not improved the reliability of the power system The reliability can be improved only by constant investment in production and capital plants of the system, with optimal use of smart grids.. The paper presents the case study of disintegration of the power system under calm weather conditions, and case of low quality of power delivery where smart grids did not help enough.

In this research, the synthesis of a new azine derivative with coumarin moiety was performed in three reaction steps, starting from 4-hydroxycoumarin. The first step in synthesis was the acetylation of 4-hydroxycoumarin to yield 3-acetyl-4-hydroxycoumarin and then the obtained 3-acetyl-4-hydroxycoumarin was reacted with hydrazine hydrate and give a corresponding hydrazone. Condensation of the hydrazone with 4-ethoxy-3methoxybenzaldehyde afforded the target compound 1-[1-(4-hydroxy-2-oxo-2H-chromen-3-yl)-ethylidene]-2-(4etoxy-3-methoxybenzylidene)-hydrazine in a good yield. The resulting azine derivative is fully spectrally characterized, including complete assignment of 1Hand 13C-NMR spectra, as well as 2D NMR (1H1H COSY, NOESY, HSQC and HMBC) spectra. The antioxidant activity of corresponding hydrazone and target compound was evaluated by DPPH method where hydrazone derivative displayed a significant and target azine good antioxidant activity, with IC50 (mM) values 11.69 and 216.60, respectively.

Regarding geographical distribution and clinical relevance, the most common canine geohelminths are Toxocara canis, ancylostomatids, and Trichuris vulpis. Canine intestinal parasites from the soil and sand present an important potential serious human health hazard, especially for the children preschool and school – age. This paper aimed to establish the degree of contamination of soil and sand with zoonotic parasites from the canine feces and the degree of risk they could pose for human health in public places and playgrounds in the city of Niš. Our parasitological study involved 200 soil samples and 50 sand samples from the public parks in the city of Niš in southeastern Serbia (43°19′15″N, 21°53′45″ E). From several locations, about 100 g of soil and sand was collected based on the bioclimatic indices. Parasitological diagnosis was performed using conventional qualitative and quantitative coprological methods, abiding by the recommendations about the diagnosis of parasitic diseases. In 38 – 46 % of soil samples and 40 % of sand samples seven species of endoparasites were diagnosed. In the samples of soil, a medium and high degree of contamination with the ascarid T. canis (14 – 22 %) was detected, as well as a low and medium degree of contamination with ancylostomatids (4 – 12 %), and in the samples of sand, a variable degree of contamination with the helminths T. canis (26 %) and A. alata (16 %) was found. A statistically significant difference was found in the contamination with A. alata eggs between the samples of sand and samples of soil. The studied public surfaces represent the reservoir of zoonotic parasites, which is a public health problem requiring a synergistic action of several factors to be successfully resolved, i.e. the implementation of prevention, surveillance, and control measures.

Introduction/Objective. A case definition recommended by the World Health Organization is commonly used for influenza surveillance worldwide. The aim of this study was to evaluate prognostic values of proposed case definitions of Influenza Like Illness (ILI), Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) and Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) for laboratory confirmed-influenza and to compare the age distribution of influenza patients across virus types and subtypes in Vojvodina. Methods. We conducted a descriptive epidemiological study using surveillance reports and laboratory data from October 1, 2010 to May 20, 2017 (seven surveillance seasons). Results. We included 2,937 participants, 48.6% of whom were laboratory-confirmed influenza cases, and most of the confirmed cases (30.1%) were detected in February. In the 15–29 years age group, the type A influenza (H3N2) was more frequent among patients with ILI (54.9% vs. 34.2%, p = 0.040), and less frequent in patients with SARI (39.4% vs. 65.8%, p = 0.009) compared with influenza type B. In patients aged 30–64 years with ARDS, influenza type B was more common than influenza type A (H3N2) (13.4% vs. 6.2%, p = 0.032), but less common in compared to influenza type A (H1N1) pdm09 (13.4% vs. 25.7%, p = 0.017). The SARI case definition of influenza was associated with an increased likelihood of laboratoryconfirmed influenza for all age groups (p < 0.05). During the epidemic period, it was observed that the ILI case definition had the highest diagnostic value for influenza in the age group 5–14 (AUC = 0.733; 95% CI: 0.704–0.764), while the SARI and ARDS case definitions were the best predictors of influenza for patients 15–29 years of age (AUC = 0.565; 95% CI: 0.504–0.615 and AUC = 0.708; 95% CI: 0.489–0.708, respectively). The case definition of ARDS had the maximum sensitivity (100%) among patients 15–29 years of age. Conclusion. The proposed case definitions of influenza appeared to be good predictors of influenza and therefore can be useful for influenza surveillance, especially in the countries with limited laboratory capacities.

Introduction. The device thrombosis is one of the most serious complications of the left ventricle assist device implantation with a high mortality and morbidity rate. Case report. A 59-year-old male was implanted by left ventricular assist device Heart Mate II as a bridge to transplantation seventeen months before the onset of a potentially fatal complication – the thrombosis with the complete obstruction of the device. Despite the aggressive pharmacological treatment following the initial suspicion of the pump thrombosis, the patient condition got worse with the final “pump off” alarm that marked the discontinuance of the pump work as a result of the complete obstruction by the thrombus. An appropriate occurrence of an adequate donor resulted in a successful surgical treatment – the heart transplantation. Conclusion. The urgent heart transplantation by the first priority rank, or the device replacement, although technically extremely demanding procedures, are successful treatment options for these patients.

This research involves the reaction of 4-chloro-3-nitrocoumarin and (4-methoxyphenyl)methanamine, whereby a novel coumarin derivative 4-[(4-methoxybenzyl) amino]-3-nitro-2H-chromen-2-one was obtained in good yield. The reaction was carried out in ethyl acetate, in the presence of triethylamine. Also, a detailed spectral analysis of a new coumarin derivative is presented. Resonance assignment was achieved using one( 1H NMR and 13C NMR) and two-dimensional NMR techniques (1H1H-COSY, NOESY, HSQC, and HMBC). The NOESY correlations of protons from arylamino substituent and coumarin core indicate their spatial orientation.

The aim of this study was to investigate the structure of glandular trichomes and essential oil composition of Lamium purpureum L. (Lamiaceae) and to determine potential biological activities of its different extracts. The micromorphology and distribution of trichomes on vegetative plant parts were investigated using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Two types of trichomes were identified: non-glandular (simple, uniseriate, multicellular) and glandular (both peltate and capitate). The essential oil of L. purpureum was isolated by hydrodistillation and analyzed by gas chromatography (GC) and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS). The main compounds were trans-anethole (59.61%), fenchone (6.54%), α-pinene (6.14%) and β-pinene (4.98%). The total phenol and flavonoid contents of 10%, 30% and 50% ethanol extracts were determined spectrophotometrically. The free radical scavenging and reducing power activity of extracts were analyzed using the DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging methods, and the ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) and total reducing power (TRP) assays. The 50% ethanolic extract exhibited the strongest antioxidative activity while the lowest was determined for the 10% ethanolic extract. Antifungal activity of L. purpureum hydroalcoholic extracts was evaluated against eight Aspergillus species by the microdilution method. Light microscopy (LM) demonstrated structural abnormalities of the tested Aspergilli. While the plant extracts did not exhibit fungicidal activity, morphophysiological changes (sporulation loss and depigmentation of conidial heads) were observed in all tested isolates. Introduction: Adipose tissue as an endocrine organ primarily regulates metabolism of carbohydrates and lipids. Anorexigenic hormone leptin increases sympathetic activity and decreases insulin secretion, thereby reducing energy depots, while adiponectin elevates tissue sensitivity to insulin, which role visfatin imitates. Heart rate recovery index (DHRR), linked with insulin resistance syndrome, reflects parasympathetic function. Our goal was to analyze correlation between adipocytokines with body composition and DHRR in athletes and sedentary controls. Material and methods: Research included 19 volleyball and water polo national team members (mean age 19.26 ± 1.94 years) and 13 physically inactive male students (mean age 20.46 ± 1.13 years). Anthropometric data were measured and blood samples for hormone analysis were taken: at the beginning, the end and 30 minutes after finishing ergospirometry. Statistical evaluation was performed using: Student's t-test, Mann-Whitney, Wilcoxon's and Spearman's rank correlation test. Results: Adiponectin levels between dependent and independent variables didn't show statistical significance. Leptin level, noteworthy lower in athletes, at the beginning and the end of the test (p < 0.001 and p = 0.001, respectively), was declining in students in every before-after study aspect (p < 0.001 in each case). Visfatin was higher in sportsmen at the end of the test and 30 minutes later (p < 0.001 in both cases), but their levels decreased comparing the beginning and 30 minutes after the test (p = 0.02). Body height, VO2 max and DHRR3 were considerably higher in athletes, just as BMI, BF% and HR in the third minute of recovery were in controls (p < 0.05). Sportsmen had moderately strong negative correlation of visfatin with BF% (p = 0.002, RS = -0.674), whilst leptin showed moderately strong positive correlation with BMI and BF% (p = 0.002, RS = -0.657 and p = 0.011, RS = 0.567), respectively. Controls demonstrated strong and moderately strong positive correlation between leptin with DHRR1 (p = 0.008, RS = 0.702) and DHRR3 (p = 0.018, RS = 0.641), respectively. Conclusion: Research showed positive correlation between visfatin with BF% and leptin with BMI and BF% in athletes, considering small number of participants.

In this paper, the results of decolourisation of Reactive Orange 16 (RO 16), Reactive Blue 19 (RB 19) and Direct Red 28 (DR 28) textile dyes in aqueous solution by plasma needle are presented. Treatment time, feed gas flow rate (1, 4 and 8 dm3 min-1) and gas composition (Ar, Ar/O2) were optimized to achieve the best performance of the plasma treatment. An artificial neural network (ANN) was used for the prediction of parameters relevant for the decolourisation outcome. It was found that more than 95 % decolourisation could be achieved for all three dyes after plasma treatment, although the decolourisation of DR 28 was much slower than those of the other two dyes, which could be explained by the complexity of its molecular structure. It was concluded that the oxidation was very dependent on all three mentioned parameters. The ANN predicted the treatment time as the crucial factor for decolourisation performance of RO 16 and DR 28, while the Ar flow rate was the most relevant for RB 19 decolourisation. The obtained results suggest that the plasma needle is a promising tool for the oxidation of organic pollutants and that an ANN could be used for optimization of the treatment parameters to achieve high removal rates. Considering the facts that phenolic compounds have many pharmacological effects, as well that antioxidant effect of phenolic compounds has been proven in various experimental systems, aim of this research was to determine the content of total phenols and flavonoids and evaluation of antioxidant activity in ethanol, ethyl acetate and chloroform extracts of fruits and leaves of the plant species Crataegus monogya Jacq., which is known as common hawthorn. The content of total phenolic compounds was determined by the spectrophotometric method using Folin-Ciocalteu reagent and the content of flavonoids was determined using aluminum chloride. In vitro evaluation of the antioxidant activity of tested extracts was performed using the DPPH method. The amount of total phenolics was varied in fruits and leaves extracts and ranged from 38.05 ± 0.18 to 365.11 ± 0.32 mg GAE/g dw. Ethyl acetate extract of hawthorn leaves showed the highest content of phenolic compounds (365.11 ± 0.32 mg GAE/g dw). The flavonoid content was different in the fruits and leaves of hawthorn and ranged from 21.11 ± 0.11 to 122.98 ± 0.21 mg RU/g dw, whereby the highest content of flavonoids was found in ethyl acetate extract of leaves (122.98 ± 0.21 mg RU/g dw). Antioxidant activity of the tested extracts was expressed as IC50 values and ranged from 5.53 ± 0.08 to 293.51 ± 0.28 mg/ml. Ethyl acetate extract of hawthorn leaves showed considerable antioxidant potential (IC50 = 5.53 ± 0.08 mg/ml). Based on the obtained results, a significant correlation was found between the antioxidant activity and the content of total phenolics and flavonoids compounds in hawthorn fruits and leaves extracts.

Magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) is an emerging technique capable of measuring the shear modulus of tissue. A suspected tumour can be identified by comparing its properties with those of tissues surrounding it; this can be achieved even in deep-lying areas as long as mechanical excitation is possible. This would allow non-invasive methods for cancer-related diagnosis in areas not accessible with conventional palpation. An actuating mechanism is required to generate the necessary tissue displacements directly on the patient in the scanner and three different approaches, in terms of actuator action and position, exist to derive stiffness measurements. However, the magnetic resonance (MR) environment places considerable constraints on the design of such devices, such as the possibility of mutual interference between electrical components, the scanner field, and radio frequency pulses, and the physical space restrictions of the scanner bore. This paper presents a review of the current solutions that have been developed for MRE devices giving particular consideration to the design criteria including the required vibration frequency and amplitude in different applications, the issue of MR compatibility, actuation principles, design complexity, and scanner synchronization issues.
