Objective: The objective of this study is to analyze the current status of nursing research in COVID-19 through literature metrology and provide ideas and references for further research. Methods: The search terms such as “novel coronavirus/COVID-19” and “nursing” were used to search the nursing-related papers published in China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang Data, VIP Data, SinoMed, Web of Science, and PubMed from October 1, 2019, to March 30, 2020. The bibliometric methods and related software were used for analysis. Results: A total of 234 articles were included from 48 journals, and core journals accounted for 61.1%. There were five nursing literature topics and 14 document types. There is a cooperative relationship between six institutions. Keywords include nursing staff, nursing management, and protection. Conclusions: The opening of journal green channels and the establishment of database columns will help the spread of anti-epidemic academic results. The topics of nursing literature include clinical nursing, nursing management, prevention and control, nursing education, and social surveys. Nursing literature types focus on cross-sectional research and experience summary; the cooperation between researchers and research institutions has begun to take shape, and it is recommended to strengthen the research on iatrogenic injuries and nurse training in future nursing research.

Objective: The objective of the study is to explore the effect of flapping-meridians combined with thunder-fire moxibustion in the treatment of upper limb dysfunction after stroke. Materials and Methods: This randomized, single-blind, controlled trial included 140 patients with stroke. According to the random number table, the patients were divided into four groups: the control group (receiving conventional nursing alone), the intervention group 1 (receiving conventional nursing combined with flapping-meridians), the intervention group 2 (receiving conventional nursing combined with thunder-fire moxibustion), and the intervention group 3 (receiving conventional nursing, flapping-meridians, and thunder-fire moxibustion). All four groups were intervened 4 weeks, 6 days a week. The outcome indicators (Fugl-Meyer Assessment of the upper extremity and body mass index of shoulder abduction, elbow extension, and wrist flexion) were assessed at the beginning and the end of treatment. Results: The effect of the intervention group 3 was better than that of the intervention group 2, intervention group 1, and control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The flapping-meridians combined with thunder-fire moxibustion can significantly improve the upper limb motor function and muscle strength of stroke patients with hemiplegia, and its effect is better than that of single treatment.

With the rapid development of intelligent materials in recent years, intelligent hydrophobic materials have become a new research direction, and hydrophobic surfaces with adjustable wettability have enormous application potential in many fields. Generally speaking, surface wettability is determined by the combined effect of surface chemical composition and surface morphology. Therefore, the photoresponsive wettability of azobenzene-modified surfaces can be achieved by constructing rough surface of micro-nano scale and reducing the surface free energy. In this paper, we synthesized two photo responsive hydrophobic azobenzene derivatives (AAAB-PFDT and UAAB-PFDT), characterized their structure, thermal degradation behavior, and microscopic morphology. The light conversion performance of the two materials in dispersion was also studied using a UV–Vis spectrometer. By depositing the materials on the glass slide, the measurements of the water contact angle (WCA) under different lighting conditions were performed, demonstrating that both materials exhibit excellent photoswitchable hydrophobicity and reversibility. Two new species of the click-beetle genus Selatosomus Stephens, S. heliisp. nov. and S. zenghuaesp. nov., are described from Sichuan Province, China. Inverse electron-demand cycloadditions in palladium catalysis are inherently limited by the linear selectivity in the allylic substitution step. To overcome this issue, the authors report a synergetic iridium (branched-selective) and amine catalysis in [4+2] cycloadditions of vinyl aminoalcohols with carbonyls.

To estimate whether adjuvant radiotherapy is necessary for patients with stage IA1-IIA1 cervical cancer after laparoscopic hysterectomy, 221 patients were retrospectively analyzed. Sixty-two of them were treated with laparoscopic hysterectomy and adjuvant radiotherapy (group A), 115 underwent open surgery (group B) and 44 received laparoscopic hysterectomy alone (group C). Results showed that the 3-year local recurrence-free survival (LRFS) rates of group A, B and C were 98.4%, 97.4% and 86.4%, respectively. The LRFS rates of group A and B surpassed C (A vs. B, p=0.634; A vs. C, p=0.011; B vs. C, p=0.006). The inter-group differences of 3-year overall survival (OS) and distant metastasis free survival (DMFS) were not statistically significant. In subgroup analysis of stage IB disease, the 3-year LRFS rates of group A, B and C were 100%, 98.8% and 83.1%, the 3-year OS rates of group A, B and C were 100%, 98.9% and 91.5%, respectively. PurposeTo investigate the role of half-brain delineation in the prediction of radiation-induced temporal lobe injury (TLI) in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) receiving intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT).Methods and MaterialsA total of 220 NPC cases treated with IMRT and concurrent platinum-based chemotherapy were retrospectively analyzed. Dosimetric parameters of temporal lobes, half-brains, and brains included maximum dose (Dmax), doses covering certain volume (DV) from 0.03 to 20 cc and absolute volumes receiving specific dose (VD) from 40 to 80 Gy. Inter-structure variability was assessed by coefficients of variation (CV) and paired samples t-tests. Receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) and Youden index were used for screening dosimetric parameters to predict TLI. Dose/volume response curve was calculated using the logistic dose/volume response model.ResultsCVs of brains, left/right half-brains, and left/right temporal lobes were 9.72%, 9.96%, 9.77%, 27.85%, and 28.34%, respectively. Each DV in temporal lobe was significantly smaller than that in half-brain (P < 0.001), and the reduction ranged from 3.10% to 45.98%. The area under the curve (AUC) of DV and VD showed an “increase-maximum-decline” behavior with a peak as the volume or dose increased. The maximal AUCs of DVs in brain, half-brain and temporal lobe were 0.808 (D2cc), 0.828 (D1.2cc) and 0.806 (D0.6cc), respectively, and the maximal AUCs of VDs were 0.818 (D75Gy), 0.834 (V72Gy) and 0.814 (V70Gy), respectively. The cutoffs of V70Gy (0.86 cc), V71Gy (0.72 cc), V72Gy (0.60 cc), and V73Gy (0.45 cc) in half-brain had better Youden index. TD5/5 and TD50/5 of D1.2cc were 58.7 and 80.0 Gy, respectively. The probability of TLI was higher than >13% when V72Gy>0 cc, and equal to 50% when V72Gy = 7.66 cc.ConclusionHalf-brain delineation is a convenient and stable method which could reduce contouring variation and could be used in NPC patients. D1.2cc and V72Gy of half-brain are feasible for TLI prediction model. The dose below 70 Gy may be relatively safe for half-brain. The cutoff points of V70–73Gy could be considered when the high dose is inevitable.

Short chain fatty acids (SCFAs) are known to be actively involved in multiple brain disorders, but their roles in sepsis-associated encephalopathy (SAE) remain unclear. Here, we investigated the neuroprotective effects of SCFAs on SAE in mice. Male C57BL/6 mice were intragastrically pretreated with SCFAs for seven successive days, and then subjected to SAE induced by cecal ligation and puncture. The behavioral impairment, neuronal degeneration, and levels of inflammatory cytokines were assessed. The expressions of tight junction (TJ) proteins, including occludin and zoula occludens-1 (ZO-1), cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), cluster of differentiation 11b (CD11b), and phosphorylation of JNK and NF-κB p65 in the brain, were measured by western blot and Immunofluorescence analysis. Our results showed that SCFAs significantly attenuated behavioral impairment and neuronal degeneration, and decreased the levels of IL-1β and IL-6 in the brain of SAE mice. Additionally, SCFAs upregulated the expressions of occludin and ZO-1 and downregulated the expressions of COX-2, CD11b, and phosphorylation of JNK and NF-κB p65 in the brain of SAE mice. These findings suggested that SCFAs could exert neuroprotective effects against SAE in mice.

BackgroundMycoplasma pneumoniae is one of the main causes of community-acquired pneumonia. Due to the imperfect immune system of children, this also causes Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (MPP) to be more common in children. Globally, the incidence of MPP in children is gradually increasing. This study was the first to systematically review the clinical efficacy and safety of Shuanghuanglian (SHL) oral preparations combined with azithromycin in the treatment of MPP in children.MethodsThis study fully retrieved 3 Chinese databases and 5 English databases to search the randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of SHL oral preparations combined with azithromycin in the treatment of children with MPP. The search time is from the inception to September 2020. Data extraction and risk bias evaluation were performed independently by two researchers. We conducted a Meta-analysis of all the outcome indicators. Besides, Meta-regression, subgroup analysis, and heterogeneity analysis were used for the primary outcomes to find the possible potential confounding factors.ResultsFinally, we included 27 RCTs involving 2884 patients. SHL oral preparations combined with azithromycin were better than azithromycin alone in response rate (RR = 1.14, 95% CI[1.11, 1.18]; low certainty evidence), disappearance time of fever(MD = -1.72, 95% CI[-2.47, -0.97]; low certainty evidence), disappearance time of cough (MD = -2.95, 95% CI[-3.55, -2.34]; low certainty evidence), and disappearance time of pulmonary rales (MD = -2.13, 95% CI[-2.88, -1.38]; low certainty evidence). The Meta-regression results showed that the course of disease, age, and method of administration may be the source of heterogeneity. Subgroup analysis and sensitivity analysis have found that the results were stable. For other related clinical symptoms, T lymphocytes, and Serum inflammatory factors, SHL oral preparations combined with azithromycin was better than azithromycin alone, and the difference was statistically significant. For adverse events with low certainty evidence, safety needs further verification.ConclusionBased on the results of meta-analysis with low certainty evidence, we believed that SHL oral preparations combined with azithromycin likely be effectively improved clinical symptoms compared with azithromycin alone. Low certainty evidence showed that SHL may safety with no serious adverse events. Due to these limitations, the safety needs further verification. More high-quality, multicenter, and large-sample RCTs should be tested and verified in the future.

BackgroundCurrently, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has spread globally, causing an unprecedented pandemic. However, there is no specific antiviral therapy for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). We conducted a clinical trial to compare the effectiveness of three antiviral treatment regimens in patients with mild to moderate COVID-19.MethodsThis was a single-center, randomized, open-labeled, prospective clinical trial. Eligible patients with mild to moderate COVID-19 were randomized into three groups: ribavirin (RBV) plus interferon-α (IFN-α), lopinavir/ritonavir (LPV/r) plus IFN-α, and RBV plus LPV/r plus IFN-α at a 1:1:1 ratio. Each patient was invited to participate in a 28-d follow-up after initiation of an antiviral regimen. The outcomes include the difference in median interval to SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid negativity, the proportion of patients with SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid negativity at day 14, the mortality at day 28, the proportion of patients re-classified as severe cases, and adverse events during the study period.ResultsIn total, we enrolled 101 patients in this study. Baseline clinical and laboratory characteristics of patients were comparable among the three groups. In the analysis of intention-to-treat data, the median interval from baseline to SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid negativity was 12 d in the LPV/r+IFN-α-treated group, as compared with 13 and 15 d in the RBV+IFN-α-treated group and in the RBV+LPV/r+ IFN-α-treated group, respectively (p=0.23). The proportion of patients with SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid negativity in the LPV/r+IFN-α-treated group (61.1%) was higher than the RBV+ IFN-α-treated group (51.5%) and the RBV+LPV/r+IFN-α-treated group (46.9%) at day 14; however, the difference between these groups was calculated to be statistically insignificant. The RBV+LPV/r+IFN-α-treated group developed a significantly higher incidence of gastrointestinal adverse events than the LPV/r+ IFN-α-treated group and the RBV+ IFN-α-treated group.ConclusionsOur results indicate that there are no significant differences among the three regimens in terms of antiviral effectiveness in patients with mild to moderate COVID-19. Furthermore, the combination of RBV and LPV/r is associated with a significant increase in gastrointestinal adverse events, suggesting that RBV and LPV/r should not be co-administered to COVID-19 patients simultaneously.Clinical Trial Registrationwww.ClinicalTrials.gov, ID: ChiCTR2000029387.
