In 2019, the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society (ARCSHS) at La Trobe University, with support from Rainbow Health Victoria and Rainbow Network, asked 6,418 LGBTQA+ people aged 14 to 21 about their experiences with education, homelessness, harassment, assault, mental health, community connections and more. This is the largest ever study on the experiences of LGBTQA+ young people aged 14-21 in Australia.The national report includes these findings and recommendations. This is the fourth iteration of the Writing Themselves In study, first conducted in 1998 followed by 2004 and 2010. This report describes Victoria-specific findings from Writing Themselves In 4: a national survey of health and wellbeing among LGBTQA+ young people in Australia. Writing Themselves In 4 involved an online survey of people living in Australia aged between 14 and 21 years who identified as LGBTIQA+. The survey was open for completion between the 2nd September and the 28th October 2019. In total, there were 6,418 complete and valid responses to the survey. This report summarises key findings from Writing Themselves In 4 that are specific to participants who were resident in Victoria (VIC) at the time of completion. It is designed to complement the national report by providing data relating to specific topics broken down at the state level. While the sample of 1,619 LGBTQA+ young people in New South Wales represents the largest-ever survey of this population, it is an insufficient number to break responses down according to gender identity, sexuality or other key demographic characteristics. This guide has been produced by the LGBTIQ Family Violence Prevention Project 2019-2021, a ground-breaking initiative led by Rainbow Health Victoria and funded by the Office for Women in the Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet.This project forges new ground in the primary prevention of family violence experienced by LGBTIQ communities, seeking to address critical evidence gaps, strengthen understanding of the drivers of violence, and build expertise for both LGBTIQ organisations and family violence primary prevention organisations to effectively deliver evidence-based programs.Pride in Prevention summarises the current available evidence on the drivers of family violence experienced by LGBTIQ communities and provides recommendations for priority interventions to address it.

Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS) technology struggles to keep up with the evolving threat posed by drones. This threat is compounded by the advent of Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (SUAS) operating together to accomplish tasks as an autonomous entity known as a swarm. The miniaturization of these devices, coupled with rapid growth in their capabilities, presents a challenging problem that must be addressed. This work explores the design of a counter-swarm indirect fire capability within the existing Marine Corps ground-based air defense and fire support framework. In doing so, this thesis presents a novel solution by defining the parameters of an artillery shell with effects designed to disrupt SUAS operations. Such a shell would target the electromagnetic spectrum vulnerabilities of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) by utilizing expendable jammers delivered as a payload in a cargo-carrying projectile. This capability is likely to be effective against the swarm threat and can be used from the rear in support of units under SUAS attack anywhere within range of the artillery piece.
