Leiomyomata are frequent in women in reproductive age. They are usually associated with uterine bleeding and anemia. Leyomyomata are associated with increased production of erythropoietin. We present a case of a 45 years-old woman who presented at the emergency unit with pelvic pain. She had a large uterine mass and erythropoietin-mediated erythrocytosis, which resolved after surgical removal. The surgical pathology report confirmed the diagnosis of leiomyomata. The biggest change of paradigm in the accounting system of the Portuguese public sector, take place in 1997 with the public sector reform, which materialized through the Public Official Accounting Plan. However, despite the important role played by this accounting standard, it could not keep up with international standards or the evolution of accounting in the private sector. These facts along with the multiplicity of accounting systems in the public sector and the strong need for international accounting harmonization, led, in 2015, to the approval of the Public Sector Accounting Standardization System. Thus, the emergence of new challenges in public management was the lever for the most recent reform of public accounting in Portugal operationalized by the Public Sector Accounting Standardization System and the Budgetary Framework Law. This applies to all central, regional, and local government institutions. Among local government institutions, municipalities are the most representative. Their transition from the Official Accounting Plan for Local Authorities to Public Sector Accounting Standardization System was expected to be a long and complex process mainly due to obstacles such as the adaptation of computer systems and the high number of procedures needed. Thus, this study analyzes the conceptual basis and describes the transition stages from the Official Accounting Plan for Local Authorities to Public Sector Accounting Standardization System in a Portuguese municipality. This work follows a qualitative methodology. The case study identified three critical factors for the successful implementation of the Public Sector Accounting Standardization System: human resources with experience and adequate training, adequate information systems, and institutional support from official public entities. This paper contributes to a proper application of the system through theoretical and practical explanation of the processes, at the accounting and technologies levels. Este manual aborda temas de Corporate Governance relacionados com os resultados empresariais e divide-se em cinco pontos, incluindo a introdução e as conclusões. No segundo ponto é explorado o conceito, princípios, regulamentação e sistemas de Governo das Sociedades. No terceiro ponto abordam-se as questões relacionadas com a Teoria da Agência e os ditames da actuação dos órgãos sociais. No quarto ponto analisa-se a formulação dos resultados empresariais. A organização deste manual teve em atenção a orientação do planeamento do estudo dos estudantes das ciências empresariais como objectivo principal. Contudo, salienta-se a necessidade de complementar o estudo com recurso à consulta da regulamentação e da legislação intrínsecas. Esta tese buscou contribuir com as discussões sobre a formação de professores para a Educação Básica, uma vez que nosso objeto de estudo foi os cursos de licenciatura oferecidos na modalidade a distância na região da Zona da Mata Mineira, no período de 2008 a 2018. Nossa pesquisa teve como objetivo geral compreender como se deram os usos do território na Zona da Mata Mineira nos processos de expansão e interiorização da oferta das licenciaturas na modalidade a distância. De maneira mais específica, buscamos compreender em que contexto se deu a institucionalização de uma política de formação superior dos professores para a Educação Básica na modalidade a distância; sistematizar os dados da demanda e da oferta por cursos de licenciatura em geral e, em particular, na modalidade a distância, na Zona da Mata Mineira, no período de 2008 a 2018; compreender as lógicas e os nexos que se estabeleceram na relação oferta-demanda, no que tange ao oferecimento de cursos de licenciatura EaD na Zona da Mata Mineira; e compreender, por meio da análise geográfica, como se deram os usos do território no processo de interiorização da oferta de licenciaturas na modalidade a distância na Zona da Mata Mineira. Para pensar essa relação, partimos das considerações teóricas do geógrafo brasileiro Milton Santos sobre globalização, usos do território e densidade técnica, apoiando-nos em dois argumentos principais: a ideia de que a expansão do acesso ao Ensino Superior, de maneira geral, contribui para o aumento da densidade técnica dos lugares e, pela ação da técnica, o espaço é remodelado; e as condições em que a expansão das licenciaturas EaD se concretizou sugerem que a relação Estadomercado-território se afirmou como condicionante socioespacial da oferta. Utilizamos os dados do Censo Escolar como fonte de informações sobre a demanda, agrupando os professores de acordo com o indicador de Adequação da Formação Docente. As informações do Censo da Educação Superior foram utilizadas como dados sobre a oferta. A análise dos dados confirmou nossas hipóteses, de modo que podemos afirmar que a oferta dos cursos de licenciatura EaD de iniciativa privada e sua distribuição territorial na Zona da Mata Mineira são fruto de uma demanda não suprida pelo Estado. Concluímos, porém, que esse movimento não foi arbitrário. Na Zona da Mata Mineira, a relação Estado-mercado-território se afirmou como condicionante socioespacial da oferta. Isso determinou e indicou a seletividade espacial da expansão e dos usos do território. This thesis aimed to contribute to the discussion regarding the training of teachers for basic education, since our study object was the undergraduate courses offered online, in the region of Zona da Mata Mineira, from 2008 to 2018. The overall objectives of our research were i) to understand how the uses of the territory in the Zona da Mata Mineira occurred throughout the processes of expansion and internalization of distance learning undergraduate courses offer. In a more specific way, we sought to understand the context in which an online higher teacher training policy for basic education was institutionalized; ii) to systematize the data of supply and demand for undergraduate courses in general – and particularly in distance mode – in the region of Zona da Mata Mineira, from 2008 to 2018; iii) to understand the logic of supply-demand relationship regarding the offer of distance education courses in the Zona da Mata Mineira and iv) to understand through geographical analysis how the uses of territory occurred throughout the internalization process of distance learning undergraduate courses offer in the Zona da Mata Mineira. Thus, to think about those relationships, we started from the theoretical considerations of the Brazilian geographer Milton Santos concerning globalization, uses of the territory and technical density, and we relied on two main arguments: i) the idea that the expanding access to higher education usually contributes to an increase in technical density of places, and by the technique action, the space is remodeled and ii) the conditions under which the expansion of distance learning undergraduate courses occurred suggest that the relationship between State, market and territory was a socio-spatial condition for the offer of courses. We used data from the Censo Escolar (School Census) as a source of information on the demand, by grouping teachers according to the teacher training adequacy indexes. The information from the Censo da Educação Superior (Higher Education Census) was used as data about the offer of courses. Data analysis confirmed our hypothesis so that we can say that the expanding range of teacher training distance learning courses of private initiative and its territorial distribution in the region of Zona da Mata Mineira are the result of a demand not attended by the State. However, we concluded that this was not an arbitrary movement. In the region of Zona da Mata Mineira, the relationship between State, market and territory was a socio-spatial condition for the offer of courses. This determined and indicated the spatial selectivity of the expansion and uses of the territory.
