Abstract

Dian Novita, 11410841012, Management of the Carocok Painan Tourism Area by the South Coastal Tourism and Youth Tourism Office in Increasing the Number of Visits, Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Andalas University, Padang, 2019, Supervised by Drs . Yoserizal, M.si. and Dr.Ria Ariany, M.si. This thesis consists of 13 theory books, 7 method books, 1 thesis, 2 theses, 6 articles, 1 journal, 1 Regent Decree, 1 Law, and 3 internet websites. This study describes the management of Carocok Painan tourism area by the Department of Youth and Sports Tourism in the Pesisir Selatan Regency. This research is motivated by a decrease in the number of visits to the area of carerah tourism in 2016 and 2017, after previously in 2014 and 2015 managed to increase the number of visits. This study uses the theory of management functions proposed by G.R Terry. This study uses a qualitative approach to the typedescriptive. Data collection techniques are done by interview,documentation and observation. the data validity technique that researchers use is source triangulation. The selection of informants using purposive sampling technique. The results of research using the management theory of G.R Terry showed that the management of the Carocok Painan tourism area by the Youth and Sports Tourism Office is quite good. this can be seen from the planning that has been outlined in the Strategic Plan, only the obstacles that complicate the management process come from the local community. lack of public awareness in tourism activities is very influential in the process of developing the Carocok Painan tourism area. Abstract

Deaf students are students who have deficiencies in the five senses of hearing, but they can still perform drawing and colouring expressions as one way they express their expression. This research was conducted on the students of SLB Dewi Sartika Geluran two students consisting of 1 student of grade 2 and 1 student of class 5, This research will analyze the meaning of visual Language (shape and colour) which is the result of student's work. The method used is qualitative by using qualitative phennomenology, to test the validity of the data then used trianggulasi technique that is in the form of: observation, interview, documentation and then matched with theory, result obtained is: from 2 resource in this research able mengungkaapkan match between drawing with a form that is expressed in the heart by using a written interview and this is the same, as well as between the mood that the source of the feelings through the color expression contained in the interview and documentation of the image, the findings that researchers get is deaf students are easier to express his feelings through pictures rather than through written language, this is apparent when several times they have to express the words of the interview written into the written interview sheet.

192. Big Book: Attractive Media for Teaching Vocabulary to Lower Class of Young Learners

Abstract

Introducing English to young learners is challenging job. In order to make the students focus, something interesting should be brought inside the classroom. One of the media that can potentially entertain students as well as transfer the language concept is big book. The aim of this study is to find out whether there is significant effect in students’ vocabulary achievement in the first grade at primary school before and after being taught by using big book. In this case, the researcher used quantitative method with quasi experimental design. The subject of this research consisted of 35 students in each group. The main activities conducted in the learning process were try-out, pre-test, treatment and post-test. In analyzing, the researcher used ttest to calculate the data and to test the hypothesis. The result of this research revealed that the use of big book gives significant effect to students’ vocabulary achievement. Further, the result of vocabulary recognition task or VRT in I-B as experimental class showed more satisfying point. This implies that teachers for young learners have to be active and creative to present attractive media so that the learners can be motivated in learning the target language, especially in the context of EFL.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan translation melalui metode bernyanyi dan menggambar untuk memahami kosakata Bahasa Inggris siswa Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) Tunas Cendekia Porong Sidoarjo. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kualitatif fenomenologi, di mana peneliti sebagai instrumen melakukan pengamatan secara langsung di lapangan dalam penggalian data. Adapun uji keabsahan data dilakukan dengan cara Triangulasi Sumber yang terdiri dari guru, wali murid, dan siswa. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diketahui bahwa penerapan translation melalui metode bernyanyi dan menggambar memudahkan siswa dalam memahami kosakata Bahasa Inggris dengan cara yang menyenangkan.
