- Abstract
A major goal of the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) is to make accurate images with resolutions of tens of milliarcseconds, which at submillimeter (submm) wavelengths requires baselines up to similar to 15 km. To develop and test this capability, a Long Baseline Campaign (LBC) was carried out from 2014 September to late November, culminating in end-to-end observations, calibrations, and imaging of selected Science Verification (SV) targets. This paper presents an overview of the campaign and its main results, including an investigation of the short-term coherence properties and systematic phase errors over the long baselines at the ALMA site, a summary of the SV targets and observations, and recommendations for science observing strategies at long baselines. Deep ALMA images of the quasar 3C 138 at 97 and 241 GHz are also compared to VLA 43 GHz results, demonstrating an agreement at a level of a few percent. As a result of the extensive program of LBC testing, the highly successful SV imaging at long baselines achieved angular resolutions as fine as 19 mas at similar to 350 GHz. Observing with ALMA on baselines of up to 15 km is now possible, and opens up new parameter space for submm astronomy.

The mining and metallurgical activity has a centuries-old tradition in Serbia. Copper, iron and gold are the basic metals in the ore of Eastern Serbia. Lead, zinc, iron and silver ore are present in central Serbia, while antimony and lead ore are predominant at the location of western Serbia. The strength of Nemanjic's Serbia was mostly based on the development of this activity. With the arrival of the Turks, the mining and metallurgical activity weakened, and at the beginning of the 18th century it completely become extincted. Almost all current mines of polymetallic ores in Serbia appeared on the locations of medieval mines.

Introduction. Kidney failure in multiple myeloma is some-times initial symptomatology and a very serious complication with an unfavorable effect on the course and prognosis of the disease. Multiple myeloma is a disease characterized by the proliferation of plasmocytes in the bone marrow, and in rare cases, it can be extramedullary in various organs and systems. Pulmonary plasmacytoma localization is a rare extramedullary localization, especially when it represents one of the initial manifestations of multiple myeloma. Case report. We present a patient with progressive acute kidney failure who has started hemodialysis treatment. On chest radiography, a homogeneous shadow was observed along the left chest wall, and the multislice computed tomography (MSCT) pointed to the tumor formation in the pulmonary parenchyma in the projection of the left upper pulmonary lobe with signs of pleural infiltration, intercostal muscles, and V rib destruction. Laboratory examination indicated the presence of Bence-Jones proteinuria in the urine sample in addition to anemia syndrome and azotemia with hyperuricemia. After bronchoscopy and needle biopsy, diffuse infiltration of mature plasma cells was demonstrated in the cytological and histopathological findings of the lungs. The histopathological finding of bone marrow biopsy indicated multiple myeloma of Lambda type with infiltration of plasma cells – about 70%. The hematologist determined a diagnosis of multiple myeloma BJ lambda III BCS, with extramedullary lung infiltration and acute kidney failure. Further treatment was continued according to the hematological protocol while performing intermittent hemodialysis. Conclusion. Sometimes, extremely rarely, and in completely asymptomatic patients with massive pulmonary infiltration observed initially, the differential diagnosis may also represent an extramedullary presentation of multiple myeloma, which should be considered.

Serbia has plenty of rich sites and active excavation mines of polymetallic ores of lead and zinc and centuries-old practice of their exploitation. In Serbia, the metallurgical processing of zinc concentrate started in 1955 at Zorka company in Šabac, while in the town of Kosovska Mitrovica, it began in 1967 at the Trepča combine. Several factors, including the fall o Yugoslaviam general societal circumstances and ownership transition, lead to a significant decline in production since 1992. It developed to the final halt of zinc's metallurgical production in 1999 at Trepča and in 2002 at Zorka. During the work-life o both production sites, since they opened till they closed, there were several reconstructions and capacity expansions, and all the while, the normalization and renewal of zinc production in Serbia hasn't been realized till 2021.

Introduction. Schwannoma or neurilemmoma is a benign tumor of the nerve sheath originating from the Schwann cells. Localization in abdominal wall is rare. Schwannomas usually manifest themselves as slow-growing asymptomatic tumors. Symptomatology depends on the location, the involved nerve and the size of the tumor. Case report. We present a 43-year-old female patient with a schwannoma localized in the right hypochondriac region. Diagnostic procedures included ultra-sound with color Doppler (US), high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and histopathological examinations (HP). US showed a solid, well-circumscribed mass, with a whorled, echogenic internal architecture in the anterior abdominal wall. MRI revealed an oval, well-circumscribed, heterogeneous, 3 × 2.5 × 2.5 centimeters large fusiform mass. T1- weighted imaging presented low signal intensity, while T2- weighted image showed heterogeneously high signal intensity. The lesion was completely removed. After pathohistological analysis with standard and immunohistochemical methods of coloring, the diagnosis of the schwannoma was confirmed. Conclusion. Schwannoma as a slow-growing tumor, which is often without clinical manifestations, may cause a delay in diagnosis and treatment. Clinical presentation of a schwannoma is indolent and non-specific. Diagnosis of this tumor requires a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approach. MR is a useful and highly specific method for the verification of peripheral nerve sheath tumors. A HP analysis confirmed definitive diagnosis of the lesion.

Application of three combinations of lactic acid bacteria (Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus rhamnosus), phototrophic bacteria (Rhodopseudomonas palustris) and yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) with sugar cane molasses, marked as: EM1, EM5 and EM AGRO, against the phytopathogenic fungi of tomato and pepper: Fusarium oxysporum, Alternaria alternata, Botrytis cinerea, Colletotrichum sp., Verticilium dahliae and Pythium aphanidermatum was evaluated in vitro and in vivo. A combination of bacteria and yeast named EM5 showed the highest mycelium growth inhibition against B. cinerea (38.4%) in a double agar diffusion test. In a microdilution test, the combination EM1 showed the highest inhibitory effect on B. cinerea (MIC 1x10-3 ml/ml), while EM5 showed a similar inhibitory effect towards F. oxysporum, A. alternata and Colletotrichum sp. (MIC 10 ml/ml). The use of EM1 (in concentrations 10 and 100 µl/ml) and EM AGRO (10 µl/ml) is recommended for tomato seedling protection. EM1 (100 µl/ml), EM5 and EM AGRO (10 µl/ml) are recommended for pepper seedling protection.

The objective of this study was to develop a single quality index of chemical characteristics of Pleurotus ostreatus extracts on 7th and 14th day of its shelf life, derived from the mushroom fruiting bodies. P. ostreatus was cultivated on four substrates containing different ratio of wine industry waste-grape pomace (P) and wheat straw (S): 100P, 80P20S, 50P50S, 20P80S. Four quality parameters of P. ostreatus mushroom extracts, i.e. antioxidative parameters: ABTS+ and DPPH• free radical scavenging capability, total phenolic compounds (TPC) and total polysaccharides (TPS) were used to define the final extract quality index. Analysis indicated 100P and 80P20S as the samples cultivated on the substrate with higher percent of grape pomace, as the best quality at the 7th day of its shelf life. On the other hand, final quality score indicated 50P50S and 20P80S, cultivated on a substrate with a lower percent of grape pomace, as the best quality samples at the 14th day of its shelf life. According to the results, samples cultivated on a higher pomace content substrate are of better quality in a shorter storage time period.

The variability of volatiles isolated from twigs by the static headspace (HS) method in seven natural populations of Picea omorika from Serbia was investigated for the first time. In the overall chemical profile, monoterpenes strongly dominated hydrocarbons as the most volatile compounds (95.7%). The dominant compounds were α-pinene (29.5 %), β-pinene (25.7%) and myrcene (13.0%), totaling 68.2% of the volatiles on average. The following nine volatiles were found to be present in medium-to-high amounts (0.5-10%): tricyclene, camphene, α-phellandrene, δ-3-carene, p-cymene, β-phellandrene, terpinolene, (E)-caryophyllene, and germacrene D. Out of the 78 volatiles detected, the six most abundant (α-pinene, β-pinene, myrcene, δ-3-carene, β-phellandrene and camphene) were selected for principle component analysis (PCA) and cluster analyses (CA). PCA revealed a high degree of similarity between populations, while CA showed a degree of separation of two populations from the others. The presented results are in agreement with previous phytochemical and molecular analyses of this species that confirm high variability in both specialized metabolites and genetic markers.

Background/Aim. Antimicrobial drug-nutrition interactions can compromise the efficacy and safety of therapeutic regimen, as well as the nutritional status of a patient. In order to prevent them, health professionals consult the reference information sources. Summary of Product Characteristics (SmPC) is the basis for reliable and objective informing, and in the case of generic products, the content of documents should be consistent. The aim of the study was to compare information on antimicrobial drug-nutrition interactions for generic products, and to consider the influence of relevant factors (the time of the first authorization and the number of generic products) on the outcome of evaluation. Methods. SmPCs for all generic antimicrobial products for systemic use were retrieved from the Medicines and Medical Devices Agency of Serbia website, and statements of interest were extracted from different sections and were compared. The comparison was based on classification of statements on interaction into one of five classes: “effect of nutrition status on drug action”, “effect of food in general on drug action”, “effect of specific nutrient on drug action”, “effect of drug on nutrient and metabolic status”, or “effect of drug on nutrition status”. Results. A total of 160 SmPCs were evaluated for 30 antimicrobial drugs corresponding to 46 dosage forms [mean number 3.48, standard deviation (SD) = 1.68; median 3.00, interquartile range (IQR) = 2; range: 2-9]. Nine (30%) antimicrobials (azithromycin, clarithromycin, cefazolin, cefepime, pipemidic acid, ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin, moxifloxacin and gentamicin) had inconsistent information. The inconsistency was related to different classes of interactions, and in some cases it could have clinically important implications (gentamicin, fluoroquinolones). The existence of a larger number of generic products was related to identified differences (p = 0.003). Conclusion. One third of generic antimicrobial products had inconsistent drug-nutrition interaction statements. Given the potential clinical implications, strategies for further harmonization of this information should be considered.

Background/Aim. After having established an indication for surgery, some patients experience sense of fear, unpleasantness and embarrassment due to the expectance of adverse consequences of surgical intervention. Recently an instrument for measuring fear of surgery – the Surgical Fear Questionnaire (SFQ) – was developed and validated on a sample of Dutch patients awaiting surgery. The objective of this study was to translate the SFQ to Serbian language, make cultural adaptation of the translation and test its reliability and validity in a sample of outpatients in Serbia. Methods. The SFQ was translated and adapted according to the accepted international standards (double forward translation, harmonization, backward translation, and piloting). The study was multicentric, involving patients from 7 cities in 3 countries: Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Hercegovina. It was conducted at state-owned health facilities. The sample was of consecutive nature and consisted of 330 outpatients who visited specialists of either internal medicine or general surgery. Results. Translated SFQ showed excellent reliability, both when rated by the investigators (Cronbach’s alpha 0.915), and by the patients themselves (Cronbach’s alpha 0.917). It is temporally stable, and both divergent and convergent validity tests had good results. Factorial analysis revealed one domain on the whole study sample and two domains like in original on the subsample of patients without experience with surgery in general anesthesia. Conclusion. Identification of patients with high level of fear of surgery by this questionnaire should help clinicians to administer measures which may decrease fear and prevent avoidance of absolutely necessary surgery by such patients.

Introduction. Anesthetic management of a patient with spinal muscular atrophy type II, who underwent elective cesarean section with neuraxial anesthesia is presented in this case report. Case report. A 33-year old woman with first pregnancy and no previous birth, at 39 weeks gestational age was scheduled for a cesarean section due to placenta previa. She had a history of spinal muscular atrophy type II, that confined her to a wheelchair, and a surgical history that included corrective surgery for kyphoscoliosis. The patient had predictors for a difficult intubation (limited mouth opening and reduced neck extension) so the decision was made to attempt the needle-through-needle combined spinal-epidural technique for surgical anesthesia. Harrington rods and scar tissue complicated placement of the combined spinal-epidural anesthesia, however successful placement was achieved. Conclusion. Spinal muscular atrophy in pregnancy is rare and represents big challenge for an anesthesiologist due to respiratory dysfunction, anticipated difficult intubation, severe kyphoscoliosis and limitations of the use neuromuscular blocking agents. The potential risks need to be considered when administering anesthesia in patients with spinal muscular atrophy undergoing a cesarean section.

- Abstract
We report new cm-wave measurements at five frequencies between 15 and 18 GHz of thecontinuum emission from the reportedly anomalous ‘region 4’ of the nearby galaxyNGC6946.We find that the emission in this frequency range is significantly in excess of that measuredat 8.5 GHz, but has a spectrum from 15 to 18 GHz consistent with optically thin free–freeemission from an ultracompact HII region. In combination with previously published data,we fit four emission models containing different continuum components using the Bayesianspectrum analysis package RADIOSPEC. These fits show that, in combination with data at otherfrequencies, a model with a spinning dust component is slightly preferred to those that possessbetter-established emission mechanisms.

- Abstract
The changes in capacitive behavior of C/H(x)RuO(y) composite material prepared by impregnating the Vulcan (R) XC 72R carbon black with oxide sols of different particle size are investigated as the electrolyte penetrates through the thin layer of the Nafion (R)-covered composite. The techniques of cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy are used. Results of the investigation reveal the influence of potential cycling and the exposure time to the electrolyte on registered capacitive characteristics of composite. The cycling in a wide potential range causes the decrease in energy storage ability which depends on oxide particle size. Impedance measurements, however, show that the ability initially decreases and subsequently increases during exposure to the electrolyte as the consequence of the presence of Nafion (R) top-layer. Due to wettability and resistance issues, Nafion (R) top-layer can affect the pseudo-capacitive characteristics, and the energy storage ability of the composite consequently decreases.

- Abstract
Symmetry based calculations of the polarized optical absorption in single-wall MoS2 nanotubes are presented. Optical conductivity tensor for the individual tubes, using line group symmetry implemented POLSym code and DFTB-calculated Slater type orbital functions and Hamiltonian/overlap matrix elements as input data is numerically evaluated. This minimal, full symmetry implementing algorithm enabled calculations of the optical response functions very efficiently and addressing the large diameter tubes and highly chiral tubes (which have huge number of atoms within a unit cell) as well. The absorption spectra dependence on the diameter and chiral angle of the nanotubes is investigated. The results obtained are related to the previously reported measured spectra.

- Abstract
The morphology and the capacitive properties of carbon supported hydrous ruthenium oxide (RuOxHy/C), prepared by impregnation of low-surface area carbon black Vulcano (R) XC-72 R with solid phase of RuOxHy sol, were investigated by scanning electron microscopy, cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The oxide sols of different ageing times, prepared by forced hydrolysis of RuCl3, were used for composite preparation. The prepared composites show considerably higher capacitance values in acid electrolyte if compared to carbon black support. Microscopic investigations show that the extent of impregnation and the composite surface appearance depend on ageing time. The composite capacitance increases with ageing time of oxide sol. A gradual decrease in capacitance of thermally untreated composite with charging/discharging cycles was registered, which appears to be related to the extent of impregnation, too. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements indicate an in-depth capacitance distribution through the composite layer. It was found that Nafion (R) layer, used to ensure the adhesion of the composite layer to the current collector, influenced the composite impedance behavior, especially on the oxide-rich parts of the composite surface.

- Abstract
The effect of galaxy interactions on star formation has been investigated using Data Release 1 of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS). Both the imaging and spectroscopy data products have been used to construct a catalogue of nearest companions to a volume limited (0.03 < z < 0.1) sample of galaxies drawn from the main galaxy sample of SDSS. Of the 13973 galaxies in the volume limited sample, we have identified 12492 systems with companions at projected separations less than 300 kpc. Star-formation rates for the volume-limited sample have been calculated from extinction and aperture corrected H-alpha luminosities and, where available, IRAS data. Specific star formation rates were calculated by estimating galaxy masses from z-band luminosities, and r-band concentration indices were used as an indicator of morphological class. The mean specific star-formation rate is found to be strongly enhanced for projected separations of less than 30 kpc. For late-type galaxies the correlation extends out to projected separations of 300 kpc and is most pronounced in actively star-forming systems. The specific star-formation rate is observed to decrease with increasing recessional velocity difference, but the magnitude of this effect is small compared to that associated with the projected separation. We also observe a tight relationship between the concentration index and pair separation; the mean concentration index is largest for pairs with separations of approximately 75 kpc and declines rapidly for separations smaller than this. This is interpreted as being due to the presence of tidally-triggered nuclear starbursts in close pairs. Further, we find no dependence of star formation enhancement on the morphological type or mass of the companion galaxy, Comment: 13 pages, 13 figures, accepted by MNRAS, available with non bit-mapped figures at http://www.mrao.cam.ac.uk/~bn204/publications/sloan-interacting-gals-P1-v2.pd f
