A novel flower like 3D nickel/manganese dioxide (Ni/MnO2) nanocomposite was synthesized by a kind of simple electrochemical method and the formation mechanism of flower like structure was also researched. In addition, morphology and composition of the nanocomposite were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Then the Ni/MnO2 nanocomposites were applied to fabricate electrochemical non-enzymatic glucose sensor. The electrochemical investigation for the sensor indicated that it possessed an excellent electrocatalytic property for glucose, and could applied to the quantification of glucose with a linear range from 2.5×10−7 to 3.5×10−3 M, a sensitivity of 1.04 mA mM−1 cm−2, and a detection limit of 1×10−7 M ( S/N=3). The proposed sensor also presented attractive features such as interference-free, and long-term stability. The present study provided a general platform for the one-step synthesis of nanomaterials with novel structure and can be extended to other optical, electronic and magnetic nanocompounds. A functional Ag-Fe3O4-grapheme oxide magnetic nanocomposite was synthesized and used to prepare a nitrite sensor. Morphology and composition of the nanocomposites were characterized by a transmission electron microscope, UV-VIS spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and Fourier transform infrared spectra. Electrochemical investigation indicated that the nanocomposites possess excellent electrochemical oxidation ability towards nitrites. The sensor exhibited two linear ranges: one from 0.5 μM to 0.72 mM with a correlation coefficient of 0.996 and sensitivity of 1996 μA mM−1 cm−2; the other from 0.72 mM to 8.15 mM with a correlation coefficient of 0.998 and sensitivity of 426 μA mM−1 cm−2. The limit of detection of this sensing system was 0.17 μM at the signalto- noise ratio of 3. Additionally, the sensor exhibited long-term stability, good reproducibility, and anti-interference. ABSTRACT Polyimide (PI) as a typical glassy polymer material was investigated by molecular simulation to reveal the relationship between polymer molecular structure and its gas separation properties. The influences of van der waals volume ( Vw) on CO2 permselectivity of PI polymers (with four kinds of backbone substitute groups and a series of side substitute groups from small to large volume) and Vw was proposed as an intermediate to establish the relationship between the substitute group and permselectivity. The results show that the CO2 permeability ( P) simply increases and CO2/N2 selectivity ( S) decreases with the increasing Vw of side substitute groups. The linear fitline of P-Vw is much suitable to describe and predict the effect of the increasing Vw of side substitute group on improving permeability by analyzing the experimental and calculated CO2 permeability. The increasing Vw of backbone substitute group can slow down the increasing of CO2 permeability, but result in the decreasing first and then recovering to the original level. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The China-ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA) has been recognized as a significant progress in regional economic integration for member countries. While the existing literature has widely studied the trade effects of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), it remains unclear how it affects environment-related input use. This paper examines the impacts of agricultural trade liberalization on the domestic fertilizer use following the CAFTA. Using a combined dataset consisting of country- and product-level fertilizer use and predictors over the period 1995–2015, this paper empirically examines the impact of CAFTA on the domestic fertilizer use for the exported fresh fruits and vegetables (FFV) from China to ASEAN members. We use the synthesis control method to identify the aggregate impacts of CAFTA on the domestic fertilizer use, followed by the propensity score matching difference-in-difference (PSM-DID) method to examine the mechanism through which fertilizer use is increased. We find that the total volumes of the domestic fertilizer use for Chinese exported FFV increased significantly following the implementation of the Early Harvest Program under CAFTA in 2004. This impact is more evident for exports to the initial ASEAN members compared to the new members. The PSM-DID results suggest that CAFTA increased the degree of export concentration on ASEAN members. The evidence is consistent with the export diversion effect of a customs union instead of the export creation effect due to trade liberalization. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

ABSTRACT Tanshinol borneol ester (DBZ), a chemical combination of danshensu and borneol, is an experimental drug that exhibits efficacious anti-ischemic activity in animal models. In this work, an ultrasensitive chemiluminescence (CL) method for the determination of DBZ was established based on the inhibitory effect of DBZ on the CL signal produced from the reaction between potassium permanganate and luminol in alkaline solution. The CL intensity responded linearly to the concentration of DBZ in the range 2.0 × 10-10 to 4.0 × 10-8 g/mL with a detection limit of 7 × 10−11 g/mL. The relative standard deviation (RSD) was 3.8% for 4.0 × 10−9 g DBZ ( n = 11). The proposed method showed characteristics of high sensitivity, simple device and quick. In addition, this proposed method had been applied satisfactorily to the analysis of DBZ in blood. The pharmacokinetics of DBZ in rat has also been studied using the CL method. Achieving low-cost and high-efficiency oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalysts by interfacial engineering has attracted numerous attentions. Herein, the combination of selenization of Ni foam (NF) and successive electrodeposition growth of CoFe LDH was proposed to synthesize the three-dimensional heterostructure of NiSe nanowires and CoFe LDH nanosheets on NF (NiSe@CoFe LDH/NF) which can enable more accessible active sites, enhanced structural stability, and eliminate contact resistance for OER process. The optimal NiSe@CoFe LDH/NF possesses superior OER performance with ultralow overpotential of 203 and 236 mV to achieve 10 and 100 mA cm−2, low Tafel slope of 90.3 mV dec−1 and robust stability in 1.0 M KOH electrolyte. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations unveil that the interfacial synergism on NiSe@CoFe LDH can induce electrons redistribution by charge transfer from CoFe LDH to NiSe, and reduce the energy barrier of deprotonation of OH to O as the rate-limiting step by the stronger chemical bond of Fe-O in OER, and thus significantly increase the intrinsic OER activity. Moreover, the two-electrode configuration based on NiSe@CoFe LDH/NF||Pt/C/NF couple for driving water splitting can achieve a current density of 300 mA cm−2 at an ultralow voltage of 1.69 V with super stability (100 h). This work provides deep insights into the roles of interfacial electronic modulation by fabrication the three-dimensional heterostructure to design high-efficiency electrocatalysts for OER. Molecular Room-temperature phosphorescent (RTP) materials with ultralong-lived excited states have attracted extensive attention in both academia and industry. However, the soft and flexible RTP materials with facile processability are still very limited. In this work, we report the first example of supramolecular adhesives (SAs) with tunable ultralong RTP lifetime as high as 638.9 ms, based on the self-assembly of low-molecular-weight sodium m-carboxyphenylborate and solvent molecules. Interestingly, the fabricated SAs show strong adhesion performance to various substrates, especially for glass and tile. Both experimental and theoretical studies indicate that multiple intermolecular interactions (such as hydrogen-bonding, π - π interaction, and electrostatic force) efficiently promote the formation of cross-linked network structure, which helps to construct a rigid microenvironment to boost the RTP emission. Moreover, multifunctional applications including product labeling, positioning adhesion, encryption, and decoration are well-demonstrated by integrating the strong adhesion and long-afterglow properties. Therefore, this work provides an effective strategy to design and synthesize novel SAs with ultralong RTP by combining low-molecular-weight phosphors and readily available solvents, which have great practical application prospects in information safety and anti-counterfeiting fields. The Sanakham gold deposit is a newly discovered gold deposit in the Luang Prabang (Laos)–Loei (Thailand) metallogenic belt. It consists of a series of auriferous quartz-sulfide veins, which is distinguished from the regional known porphyry-related skarn and epithermal gold deposits. There are four mineralization stages identified in Sanakham, with native gold grains mainly occurring in stages II and III. Evolution of ore-forming fluids and gold deposition mechanisms in Sanakham are discussed based on fluid inclusion petrography, microthermometry, and Laser Raman spectroscopy. The original ore-forming fluids belong to a medium-high temperature (>345 °C) CH4-rich CH4–CO2–NaCl–H2O system. In stages II and III, the ore fluids evolve into a NaCl–H2O–CO2 ± CH4 system characterized by medium temperature (~300 °C), medium salinity (~10 wt% NaCl eq.), and CO2-rich (~10% mol). They might finally evolve into a NaCl–H2O system with temperature decreasing and salinity increasing in stage IV. Two fluid immiscibility processes occurred in stages II and III, which created high-CH4 & low-CO2 and low-CH4 & high-CO2 end-members, and CO2-poor and CO2-rich endmembers, respectively. Gold-deposition events are suggested to be associated with the fluid immiscibility processes, with P–T conditions and depth of 236–65 MPa, 337–272 °C, and 8.7–6.5 km, respectively. Abstract: In this paper, we utilized two different test systems to compare the haemolysis of tentacle-only extract (TOE) devoid of nematocysts from jellyfish Cyanea capillata, the 1% whole blood and 0.45% erythrocyte suspension approximately with the same erythrocyte concentration from the blood samples of sheep, rabbit, mouse, rat and human, respectively. Without exception, the haemolytic activity of TOE was dose-dependent in both test systems from all the five kinds of blood samples, while it was generally stronger in erythrocyte suspension than that in diluted whole blood at the relatively high concentration of TOE. When various aliquots of plasma were added into the erythrocyte suspension test system, the haemolytic activity of TOE was declined with the plasma quantity increasing, and dropped to about 20% at the presence of two aliquots of plasma. If serum albumin of 0.5mg/ml, approximately the same albumin content in 1% whole blood, was added into the erythrocyte suspension test system instead, the haemolysis of TOE was similarly inhibited. The effects of GSH, ascorbic acid and protease inhibitor on the haemolytic activity of TOE were detected in the erythrocyte suspension and diluted whole blood simultaneously, and the test results were coincident between the two systems. These results suggested that the inconsistency of TOE haemolysis between the erythrocyte suspension and diluted whole blood is a universal occurrence in the mammals, and blood plasma plays a dose-dependent protective role against haemolysis which may be due to serum albumin. Abstract: A soluble Mn (IV)-formaldehyde-indomethacin chemiluminescence system was found. Using a synthesized indomethacin MIP as recognition material and soluble Mn (IV)-formaldehyde-indomethacin as detection system, a new molecule imprinted-chemiluminesence method of determination of indomethacin was established. The response range of this method was between 1.0×10−7 and 1.0×10−5 g/mL with a linear correlation coefficient of 0.994. The detection limit was 4×10−8 g/mL. An ultrasensitive sandwich electrochemiluminescence (ECL) biosensor was designed for determination of concanavalin A (ConA) through the specific carbohydrate-ConA interactions. Three-dimensional porous metal-organic framework (Zn-MOF) was synthesized, which loaded a large amount of luminescent reagents as luminol by encapsulating into its pores to form Zn-MOF@luminol complex. Interestingly, Zn-MOF also acted as the coreactant accelerator in the luminol-H2O2 ECL system. This Zn-MOF@luminol complex was used as the signal probe to achieve a super strong and stable ECL signal. In addition, three-dimensional hierarchical molybdenum disulfide nanoflower and multiwalled carbon nanotubes complex (MoS2NF@MWCNTs) with peroxidase-mimicking enzyme property were used as a substrate to modify the glassy carbon electrode to further enhance the ECL signal of luminol by promoting decomposition of H2O2 into reactive oxygen species (ROSs). In addition to the horseradish peroxidase (HRP) catalysis effect on the luminol ECL signal, a triple amplified ConA sandwich ECL sensor with high sensitivity sensor was constructed. The linear range for ConA detection was from 0.5 pg/mL to 100 ng/mL with a detection limit of 0.3 pg/mL (S/N = 3). Due to the lack of corresponding magmatic records, the timing of the opening of the Yarlung–Tsangpo Neo‐Tethyan Ocean remains controversial. The Middle Permian Luerma igneous complex, which is situated in the western Gangdese magmatic belt of the southern Lhasa subterrane, western Tibet, can be divided into four or more rock types, including foid gabbro, amphibole gabbro, monzogabbro, and pyroxene‐bearing monzodiorite. Through zircon U–Pb dating using laser ablation–inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometry, the age of the Luerma igneous complex is determined to be ~261 Ma. The complex is rich in titanium, iron, magnesium, and total alkalis, with medium to high levels of calcium, potassium and aluminium, as well as low levels of silicon. Therefore, it is classified as a shoshonite–latite rock series. The complex is relatively enriched in light rare earth elements and high‐field‐strength elements, without obvious Eu and Ce anomalies. These rocks exhibit relatively low (87Sr/86Sr)i values, high εNd(t) values, and high εHf(t) values. The geochemical and isotopic characteristics indicate that the magmas are derived from partial melting of the upper mantle in an intraplate tectonic environment. The new data presented here provide supplementary evidence for the initial rifting of the Lhasa terrane from the northern margin of Gondwana during the Middle Permian. These data also confirm that the opening of the Yarlung–Tsangpo Neo‐Tethyan Ocean occurred in the Middle Permian. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

New zircon reference materials for in situ zircon radiogenic Hf isotope and stable Zr isotopic determinations made by laser ablation multi‐collector inductively coupled plasma‐mass spectrometry (LA‐MC‐ICP‐MS) are required due to high data productivity and consequently high reference material consumption rate. This study examines a new natural zircon for Zr isotope ratios by double spike thermal ionisation mass spectrometry (TIMS), and for Hf isotopes by bulk solution nebuliser (SN)‐MC‐ICP‐MS with both Zr and Hf determined by LA‐MC‐ICP‐MS. A total of five zirconium isotope measurements from drilled zircons, determined by TIMS, yield a mean δ94/90ZrIPGP‐Zr value of ‐0.09 ± 0.06‰ (2s). Five and eight hafnium isotope measurements for powders from the drilled zircons and Ban‐1‐4 by SN‐MC‐ICP‐MS, yield mean 176Hf/177Hf ratios of 0.282985 ± 0.000011 (2s) and 0.282982 ± 0.000007 (2s), respectively. The mean δ94/90ZrIPGP‐Zr value and 176Hf/177Hf ratio determined by LA‐MC‐ICP‐MS analyses are ‐0.06 ± 0.09‰ (2s, n = 504) and 0.282985 ± 0.000035 (2s, n = 327), respectively. The isotopic homogeneities suggest that the Ban‐1 zircon is a suitable reference material for microbeam Zr and Hf isotopic measurements. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
