Die US-Amerikanerin Kathy Acker gilt als wegweisende Autorin für die radikal dekonstruktivistische Literatur. Besonders ihr 1984 publizierter Roman 'Blood and Guts in High School' wird vielfach als feministisches Manifest gefeiert. In dem Roman stellt Acker die gewaltsame Unterdrückung von Frauen auf radikalste Weise dar und bespricht Themen wie Vergewaltigung, sexuellen Missbrauch und soziale Ungleichheit. Unser Beitrag untersucht die literarischen Mittel, derer sich Acker in dem Roman bedient, um eine tiefgreifende Kritik an gesellschaftlichen Strukturen zu entwerfen, insbesondere im Hinblick auf das patriarchale Sprachsystem und den literarischen Kanon. Die Analyse des Textes zieht die Frage nach sich, inwiefern drastische Darstellungsformen und eine avantgardistische Ästhetik Gefahr laufen, den potenziell subversiven Inhalt des Romans als Gewaltexzess erscheinen zu lassen, wie zum Beispiel das Verbot des Romans in der BRD 1985 belegt., The American author Kathy Acker is considered to have pioneered radical deconstructive literature. Her novel 'Blood and Guts in High School', published in 1984, is celebrated by many as a feminist manifesto. Acker depicts the violent suppression of women in the most radical way and addresses issues such as rape, sexual abuse and social inequality in the novel. This article examines the literary devices Acker uses to delineate a profound critique of social structures, in particular regarding the patriarchal language system and the literary canon. Our analysis investigates to what extent the drastic forms of representation and the avant-garde aesthetics in this novel run the risk of turning its potentially subversive content into violent excesses, as is evidenced in, for example, the novel being banned in West Germany in 1985.

In der vorliegenden Querschnittstudie (N = 696) wurden Unterschiede in posttraumatischem Wachstum und wahrgenommenem Stress zwischen der COVID-19-Risiko- und Nicht- Risikogruppe, bereits Infizierten und Nicht-Infizierten, Männern und Frauen sowie unterschiedlichen Altersgruppen untersucht. Für die Erhebung wurden der Post Traumatic Growth Inventory (PTGI) sowie die etablierte Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) verwendet. Die postulierten Hypothesen (1.1 - 1.4), dass die COVID-19-Risikogruppe und die Infektionsgruppe im Vergleich zur Nicht-Risikogruppe und Nicht-Infizierten über erhöhte Werte auf beiden Skalen verfügen, werden nicht bestätigt. Für die Annahme, Frauen verfügen über höheres posttraumatisches Wachstum und wahrgenommenen Stress als Männer (2.1 & 2.2), zeigt sich ein signifikanter Gruppenunterschied. Auch die letzten beiden Hypothesen, jüngere Personen weisen ein gesteigertes Maß an posttraumatischem Wachstum und wahrgenommenem Stress auf (2.3 & 2.4), können bestätigt werden. Insgesamt bekräftigen die Ergebnisse die bisherige Forschung zu Geschlechts- und Altersunterschieden in Bezug auf die untersuchten Konstrukte. Gleichzeitig zeigen sich keine Unterschiede bei Risiko- und Infektionsgruppen. Deren Ausdifferenzierung stellt jedoch einen möglichen Ansatz für zukünftige Forschungsarbeiten dar., The present cross-sectional study (N = 696) examined differences in posttraumatic growth and perceived stress between the COVID-19 risk and non-risk groups, previously infected and non-infected, men and women, and age groups. The Post Traumatic Growth Inventory (PTGI) and the established Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) were used. The postulated hypotheses (1.1 - 1.4) that the COVID-19 risk-group and already infected participants have elevated scores on both scales compared to the non-risk- and non-infected group are not confirmed. Referring to the hypothesis that women have higher posttraumatic growth and perceived stress than men (2.1 & 2.2), a significant group difference is revealed. The final hypotheses, younger individuals have higher levels of posttraumatic growth and perceived stress (2.3 & 2.4), can also be confirmed. The results support previous research on gender and age differences in relation to the investigated psychological factors. Der Schwerpunkt der vorliegenden Arbeit war die Synthese von 3d-, 4d- und 5d-Übergangsmetallnitriden in flüssigem Ammoniak und deren Charakterisierung. Es wurden nanopartikuläres und phasenreines Titannitrid, Zirconiumnitrid und Hafniumnitrid synthetisiert. Dabei wurden die Einflüsse verschiedener Reaktionsparameter wie Reduktionsmittel oder Lösungsmittel auf die Reaktionen in flüssigem Ammoniak untersucht. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt war die erstmalige Synthese von Mischnitriden im System Ti-Zr-N, Ti-Zr-Hf-N und sogenannten Hoch-Entropie-Nitriden (Ti-Zr-Hf-Nb-Ta-N) in flüssigem Ammoniak. Zur Synthese wurden Übergangsmetallsalze mit einem Reduktionsmittel (Natrium, Calcium) in flüssigem Ammoniak umgesetzt und die amorphen Produkte im Vakuum bei Temperaturen von über 600 °C behandelt. Die Produkte wurden mittels Röntgenpulverdiffraktometrie, (Raster-) Transmissionselektronenmikroskopie, energiedispersiver Röntgenspektroskopie, Gasadsorption und Elementaranalyse untersucht. Zusätzlich wurden die hergestellten Titannitrid-Nanopartikel mittels feldaktivierten Sinterns verdichtet und mit verdichtetem Volumenmaterial verglichen. Dabei wurden das Partikelwachstum, die Härte und das Elastizitätsmodul mittels Rasterelektronenmikroskopie und Nanoindentation untersucht und ein Zusammenhang nach dem Hall-Petch-Effekt näher betrachtet. Des Weiteren folgten erste Anwendungsversuche der verschiedenen Nitride als Katalysatoren für die Ammoniaksynthese in einer termperaturprogrammierten Oberflächenreaktion.

Background There is little peer-reviewed information about the strategic use of Facebook in companion animal veterinary settings, including for research recruitment. This study evaluates the implementation and execution of a Facebook strategy in a University Teaching and Research Hospital setting and the use of Facebook as a veterinary communication and recruitment tool. Methods All posts published on the hospital's Facebook page, messages sent via Messenger, and Facebook insight data from April 2017 to November 2019 (31 months) were reviewed and categorized. Facebook as a recruitment tool was evaluated through a survey among the faculty. Results A total of 113 posts were published, the Facebook page had 3485 followers and altogether 590,877 users were reached. The use of a Facebook strategy supported consistent management of the Facebook page. The content was well aligned with the strategy. The survey showed that the faculty experienced a facilitation effect by their recruitment posts, although the actual recruitment varied and ranged from none to the vast majority of all recruited subjects. Conclusions This case-based, descriptive study gives insight and generates awareness about the possibilities and limitations of communication and research recruitment via Facebook. Renal tubular cells frequently lose differentiation markers and physiological properties when propagated in conventional cell culture conditions. Embedding cells in 3D microenvironments or controlling their 3D assembly by bioprinting can enhance their physiological properties, which is beneficial for modeling diseases in vitro. A potential cellular source for modeling renal tubular physiology and kidney diseases in vitro are directly reprogrammed induced renal tubular epithelial cells (iRECs). iRECs were cultured in various biomaterials and as bioprinted tubular structures. They showed high compatibility with the embedding substrates and dispensing methods. The morphology of multicellular aggregates was substantially influenced by the 3D microenvironment. Transcriptomic analyses revealed signatures of differentially expressed genes specific to each of the selected biomaterials. Using a new cellular model for autosomal-dominant polycystic kidney disease, Pkd1$^{-/-}$ iRECs showed disrupted morphology in bioprinted tubules and a marked upregulation of the Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1a1 (Aldh1a1). In conclusion, 3D microenvironments strongly influence the morphology and expression profiles of iRECs, help to unmask disease phenotypes, and can be adapted to experimental demands. Combining a direct reprogramming approach with appropriate biomaterials will facilitate construction of biomimetic kidney tubules and disease models at the microscale.
