Objective To provide a clinical reference by evaluating the precision of virtual surgical planning in two-jaw orthognathic surgery.Methods Thirty consecutive patients who required two-jaw orthognathic surgery were included. A composite skull model was reconstructed using data from spiral computed tomography scan and surface scanning of the dental arch. LeFort I osteotomy of the maxilla and bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomy of the mandible were simulated using Dolphin Imaging 11.7 Premium. Genioplasty was performed if indicated. Virtual plan was then transferred to operation room using 3D-printed surgical templates. Frankfort horizontal plane (FHP), midfacial plane (perpendicular to the FHP through the nasion), and coronal plane (perpendicular to the FHP through the sella point) were the selected three symmetry planes.Midpoint of the contact of the maxillary and mandibular central incisors (UI, LI), and the mesio-buccal cusp of the first maxillary and mandibular molars (U6-R,U6-L, L6-R, L6-L) were the six chosen volumetric landmarks. To calculate the linear difference and overall mean linear difference (mean difference of the distance between UI, LI, U6-R, U6-L, L6-R, L6-L to FHP, midfacial and coronal plane) between simulated and postoperative models, the distance between selected landmarks and symmetry planes was measured. To calculate the angular difference and overall mean angular difference, values of the angles constructed by the occlusal, palatal, and mandibular plane to FHP and midfacial plane respectively were determined on simulated and postoperative models.Results The virtual surgical planning was successfully transferred to actual surgery with the help of 3D-printed surgical templates. All patients were satisfied with the postoperative facial profile and occlusion. The overall mean linear difference was 0.81 mm (0.71 mm for maxilla and 0.91 mm for mandible); and the overall mean angular difference was 0.95° (the mean angular difference relative to FHP was 1.10°, and that relative to midfacial plane was 0.83°).Conclusion Virtual surgical planning facilitated the diagnosis, treatment planning, and precise bony segments repositioning in two-jaw orthognathic surgery.

Wilms' tumor is a malignant renal cancer that arises within the pediatric urinary system. This study intended to investigate how a novel long non-coding RNA LINC01339 functions in the pathogenesis of Wilms' tumor. An elevated miR-135b-3p expression as well as reduced levels of LINC01339 and ADH1C were observed in Wilms' tumor. LINC01339 mediated ADH1C expression by directly binding to miR-135b-3p. The enforced LINC01339 or ADH1C markedly hindered cell growth and migration in Wilms' tumor. The LINC01339 overexpression also repressed the growth of Wilms' tumors in vivo, whereas miR-135b-3p overexpression exerted the opposite effects on Wilms' tumor cells in vitro. Additionally, upregulating miR-135b-3p reversed LINC01339's effects on the cellular processes of Wilms' tumor cells, whereas ADH1C overexpression offset the cancer-promoting influence of miR-135b-3p upregulation on Wilms' tumor progression. Therefore, LINC01339 prevents Wilms' tumor progression by modulating the miR-135b-3p/ADH1C axis. Our findings substantiate that the LINC01339/miR-135 b-3p/ADH1C regulatory axis has potential to be a target for the treatment of Wilms' tumor. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background and Aims: The prevalence of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) continues to increase, and the phenomenon of women giving birth at an older age is becoming more common worldwide. Less is known abouts the impact of GDM combined with advanced maternal age (AMA) on pregnancy outcomes. To explore the impact of AMA complicated with GDM on pregnancy outcomes. Methods: This study included 34,602 pregnancies between 2018 and 2020 in Hangzhou, China. The pregnant women were divided into four groups according to advanced age (≥35 years) and GDM as follows: AMA women without GDM (non‐AGDM) group (n = 2614), young pregnant women with GDM (YGDM) group (n = 4016), AMA women with GDM (AGDM) group (n = 850), and young pregnant women without GDM (non‐YGDM) group (n = 27,122). Univariate analysis was carried out by Mann–Whitney U test or Pearson's χ2 test. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to investigate the effect of AMA and GDM on pregnancy outcomes. Results: Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that in the comparison against non‐YGDM garoup, the ORs of fetal chromosome abnormality, parity, urgent cesarean section, gravidity, scheduled cesarean section, body mass index (BMI) ≥30 kg/m2, pre‐eclampsia, thrombocytopenia, hyperlipidemia, BMI 25–29.9 kg/m2, blood urea nitrogen, fasting blood glucose, and creatinine in AGDM group were 16.044, 4.284, 3.530, 3.284, 3.257, 2.049, 1.935, 1.898, 1.690, 1.471, 1.304, 1.216, and 1.026 (all p < 0.05). Conclusions: The prevalence of pregnant women with AGDM was 2.46% in Hang Zhou, China. The increasing gravidity of AMA women was related to a greater risk of GDM. The AGDM group associated with a greater risks of chromosomal abnormality in offspring and cesarean section, especially urgent cesarean section. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Mullite-type AMn2O5 materials represent a group of promising candidates to substitute noble metal catalysts for the catalytic removal of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). When applied to catalytic oxidation of aromatic hydrocarbons such as toluene, AMn2O5 exhibits undesirable performance due to its poor intrinsic activity of oxygen species, leading to a light-off temperature above 250 °C. In this work, we have developed a synthesis route combining a two-step calcination and cation-exchange process to prepare a nanoporous CeO2-decorated Cu-SmMn2O5 composite mullite oxide catalyst applied in toluene oxidation. The best performing sample reached 90% toluene conversion at 190 °C, surpassing other transition metal oxide catalysts. Comprehensive characterizations reveal that Cu ion doping into the crystal lattice of the mullite phase is achieved via the cation-exchange process. In this catalyst design, surface CeO2 decoration and Cu doping promote the reduction ability and improve oxygen species activity to accelerate toluene oxidation. Overall, this work provides a strategy to prepare composite mullite oxide catalysts with high performance in the removal of VOCs, broadening the industrial application prospects of mullite-type materials.
