This study aims to investigate the association between spiritual coping and quality of life in infertile couples. The researchers used a cross-sectional survey research design for carrying out this study. Data was collected from 58 infertile couples visiting Lahore Institute of Fertility and Endocrinology (LIFE), Hameed Latif Hospital for infertility diagnosis or treatment. A self-structured questionnaire was used to collect data about socio-demographics, spiritual coping and quality of life. The researchers used SPSS IBM Version 21.0 to analyze quantitative data. The results showed a significant relationship between spiritual coping and quality of life in infertile couples. It was furthermore found that spiritual coping and quality of life in infertile couples varied across their gender, age, education, area of residence, family system and income level. On the basis of these findings, the researchers suggest that infertility counsounctility centelife during the traetment . elling should be imparted at fertility centers involving spiritual coping that may help infertile couples in improving their quality of life, especially during the treatment process.

Introduction: Nursing education has a major responsibility in preparing nurses for clinical practice. In Pakistan, most of the nurses are diploma qualified. Post Registered Nurse Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Post-RN BScN) program plays a substantial role in the transition from diploma to degree. Therefore, it is necessary to explore the experiences of graduates of Post-RN BScN for the successful implementation and quality improvement of the program. Objectives: This study explored the strengths and weaknesses of the Post-RN BScN through experiences of the nurses who completed the BSc N program in 2015 in nursing education institutions in Karachi, Pakistan. Methodology: The qualitative descriptive exploratory study was designed to explore the experiences of the nurses who completed the Post-RN BScN in 2015. Purposive sampling was used for data collection through semi-structured interviews. Data was analyzed through the content analysis method, through which sub-themes and themes emerged. Results: The study participants from a public sector highlighted the strengths of program, such as integration of theoretical knowledge into clinical practice, having graduate qualified faculty, and having appropriate technological and education resources. Whereas, majority of the participants were concerned about the lack of integration of theoretical knowledge into clinical practice, under qualified faculty with unsatisfactory teaching competencies, inaccessibility to and unavailability of resources. Conclusion: The study provided recommendations for stakeholders for improvement in the quality of nursing education by addressing major areas such as integration of theory into practice, competencies and shortage of the faculty members, and provision of technological and educational resources.

Background: A new series of malonic acid-based hydrazide derivatives (BPMPDH, 2HPMPDH, 3HPMPDH, 4HPMPDH, DMPDH) are successfully synthesized by the reaction of malonic ester hydrazide with various substituted aldehydes like salicylaldehyde, benzaldehyde, 4-hydroxy benzaldehyde, 3-hydroxy benzaldehyde and formaldehyde) Methods: metal complexes of prepared hydrazide derivatives were prepared using metals like Cu+2, Zn+2 and Ni+2 via a mild, efficient and convenient method. Newly synthesized compounds were characterized by IR, NMR (1H & 13C), UV/VIS and mass spectrometry. The presence of –C=N- peak at 1600-1700 cm-1 with the absence of NH2 peak at 3500 cm-1 in FTIR spectra. In 1HNMR peak at, 11.00-13.00 ppm for –OH protons and 7.00-9.50 ppm for –NH verified the synthesis of new hydrazide derivatives. The presence of a C-OH sharp peak at 180-190 ppm, a C=O peak at 160-170 ppm and a C=N peak at 140-150 ppm confirmed synthesis. In mass spectra, the molecular ion peaks at 308 m/z, 340 m/z and 156 m/z confirmed synthesis. Synthesized compounds have also been analyzed for their antioxidant, antibacterial, antifungal, chymotrypsin and tyrosinase inhibition activities Result and Conclusion: The results revealed that the 2HPMPDH, 3HPMPDH, 4HPMPDH and their Cu+2 and Zn+2 metal complexes showed more successful inhibition against standard drugs, based on structure activity relationship.

High purity ultrathin Ag-assisted titania (TiO2) nanowires with controlled aspect ratio were prepared by a facile solvothermal approach. The dimensions of as-prepared nanowire structures such as length and diameter can be easily tuned from 100 nm to 3 nm and from few millimeters to several hundred nanometers respectively by optimizing concentration of precursors and octadecylamine (ODA) as surfactant. The as-prepared samples were studied and characterized by several analytical techniques like transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES), surface area measurement through Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and diffused reflectance spectroscopy (DRS). The main focus of present research work is the size-controlled synthesis of Ag assisted TiO2 nanowires and enhancement of their methylene blue (MB) degradation efficiency. A 98% photodegradation efficiency for methylene blue was achieved by utilizing 3nm thick annealed TiO2 nanowires within 20min. Recyclability of photocatalyst was also studied, with the material being found to be stable up to four runs.

This study's primary goal was to examine how social media mistrust affected online commerce in relation to the use of social media.Distrust in social media was tested as mediator to identify how customers were inclined from trust to distrust after experiencing e-purchasing. Through online survey, data was collected from more than 300 students belonging to ten different departments situated at the main campus of the University of Loralai. The current study used a convenience sampling technique. SPSS was used for descriptive data analysis. The hypothesised model was examined using partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM), which fully supported the current study's hypotheses. The results revealed that social media usage has a significant impact on distrust in social media leading to influence the consumers’ intention for online shopping in a negative spectrum. Whereas, distrust in social media negatively mediates the link between social media usage and online shopping. The findings of the present study have some practical suggestions for companies that deal in online businesses, organizational researchers, and practitioners on how to diagnose and prevent factors that influence the level of trust leading toward distrust.

Background: Neonatal encephalopathy is a diverse and clinically well-known syndrome. The objectives of this study were to determine the prevalence and determinants of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) in perinatal asphyxia population of District Mardan, Pakistan. Materials & Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in Department of Pediatrics, Bacha Khan Medical College, Mardan, Pakistan from 1st January 2017 to 30th June 2017. 160 term neonates with perinatal asphyxia were included. Sex, age groups, gestational age, mode of delivery, weight groups and presence of HIE were variables. Presence of HIE was dependent while five demographic variables were independent variables respectively for five chi-square tests of association. Results: Mean age of sample of 160 infants was 2.537±1.26 (1-7, range 6) days, mean gestational age was 38.681±1.24 weeks and mean weight 3.275±0.36 kg. Out of 160 infants with perinatal asphyxia, 16 (8.16%, 95%CI 7.35-13.46) had HIE (HIE). These positive 16 cases included 11 (6.88%) boys & 5 (3.12%) girls, 15 (9.38%) of 1-3 & one (0.62%) of 4-7 days, 14 (8.75%) of gestational age 37-39 & two (1.25%) of >39 weeks, 15 (9.38%) with vaginal delivery & one (0.62%) with C-section and 14 (8.75%) of ≤3 & two (1.25%) of >3 kg weight groups. There was association between presence of HIE and weight groups, but not with sex, age groups, gestational age and mode of delivery. Conclusion: We found 10% prevalence of HIE in perinatal asphyxia population of District Mardan, Pakistan. The prevalence was higher in boys than girls, in age group 1-3 days than 4-7 days, in gestational age ≤37-39 than >39 weeks, in vaginal than C-section delivery and in weight group ≤3 kg than >3 kg group. There was association between presence of HIE and weight groups, but not with sex, age groups, gestational age and mode of delivery.
