This study aimed to compare the efficacy and risk of adverse events of sildenafil plus vitamin D3 versus sildenafil alone in improving erectile dysfunction (ED) in ED patients with low serum 25-hydroxy vitamin D3 (25-(OH)D3). The clinical data of ED patients with low serum 25-(OH)D3 treated at our center from December 2015 to December 2020 were retrieved, and the patients (n = 157) were randomly divided into an experimental group (n = 80) or a control group (n = 77). The experimental group was treated with 1 capsule of vitamin D3 (400u) daily for a month and advised to use 100 mg sildenafil (po) within 1 hour before sexual intercourse, while the control group was only given 100 mg sildenafil (po) 1 hour before sexual intercourse. The indexes of international erectile function (IIEF-5), serum 25-(OH)D3 level, testosterone (T) level and adverse events between the two groups were compared before and after treatment. The results showed that the IIEF-5 values of the two groups were significantly higher after treatment than before treatment (p < 0.05). However, the serum levels of 25-(OH)D3 and T in the experimental group were significantly higher than before treatment (p < 0.05), while no significant differences were observed in the same markers in the control group before and after treatment (p > 0.05). The overall effective rate, serum 25-(OH)D3 level and T level in the experimental group were significantly higher than the control group (p < 0.05). During the treatment, no significant difference in adverse events was observed between the two groups (p > 0.05), which mostly comprised mild and tolerable headache, dyspepsia, back pain and muscle soreness, not requiring any medical intervention. Although both methods could effectively treat ED patients with low 25-(OH)D3, the efficacy of sildenafil plus vitamin D3 was significantly superior to sildenafil alone, and the adverse reactions are mild and tolerable, which is worthy of clinical application.

In the era of inclusive education, students with attention deficits are integrated into the general classroom. To ensure a seamless transition of students’ focus towards the teacher’s instruction throughout the course and to align with the teaching pace, this paper proposes a continuous recognition algorithm for capturing teachers’ dynamic gesture signals. This algorithm aims to offer instructional attention cues for students with attention deficits. According to the body landmarks of the teacher’s skeleton by using vision and machine learning-based MediaPipe BlazePose, the proposed method uses simple rules to detect the teacher’s hand signals dynamically and provides three kinds of attention cues (Pointing to left, Pointing to right, and Non-pointing) during the class. Experimental results show the average accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, precision, and F1 score achieved 88.31%, 91.03%, 93.99%, 86.32%, and 88.03%, respectively. By analyzing non-verbal behavior, our method of competent performance can replace verbal reminders from the teacher and be helpful for students with attention deficits in inclusive education.

The first two years of dental school are commonly known to be the most stressful in a student's academic career. However, few studies consider both the pressures of dental school and their possible causes. In order to understand the relationship between the curriculum and its stressful effects on first (D1) and second-year (D2) dental students, a cross-sectional study was performed at the University of New England College of Dental Medicine (UNE-CDM) during the fall and spring semesters of the 2015-2016 academic year. Sixty-four D1 and sixty-three D2 dental students were asked to voluntarily complete an anonymous 27-question survey regarding demographic characteristics and possible curriculum-related stressors. Researchers utilized the modified Dental Environment Scale (DES) to rate the stress levels. This study revealed D2 students experienced more stress than D1 students overall. D2 students experienced more anxiety in their spring semester of their second year. In general, students who lived with their immediate family felt less stress. Students twenty-five and over experienced less stress than their younger classmates. The study provided valuable information regarding the current structure of the curriculum at a newly established dental school. This study could provide insight into curriculum-related stress among pre-clinical dental students, which could guide dental schools in making curricular changes to help alleviate stressors during particularly stressful semesters. Furthermore, the outcomes of this project could provide dental schools the information necessary to develop student support programs to help balance students' lives and intense course loads.

The construction of long-span bridge bearing platforms in deep and thick silt interlayers presents challenges such as difficult pit excavation, high risk of foundation pit base uplift, ensuring the secure embedment of the foundation pit cofferdam, and the susceptibility of large-volume concrete to cracking. This paper examines the construction of the main pier bearing platform for the new Yue-Dong Bridge. It compares and selects the optimal cofferdam scheme, ultimately employing a combined cofferdam structure that integrates underwater high-pressure rotary piling for base reinforcement and steel sheet piles. An underwater high-pressure rotary piling fast reinforcement construction process was developed and implemented, alongside the “four-stage dry bottom sealing” strategy to mitigate uplift risks. To address the cracking induced by the heat of hydration in large-volume concrete, a temperature control strategy for large-volume concrete construction was proposed. Real-time monitoring of the cofferdam was conducted to ensure construction safety. Additionally, to verify the effectiveness of the temperature control measures and ensure compliance with temperature control standards, real-time temperature monitoring was also performed during the construction of the large-volume concrete bearing platform. To ensure construction safety, cofferdam displacements and stresses are monitored in real time. The practice has demonstrated that the construction scheme, strategies, and corresponding measures are effective, leading to the successful construction of the long-span bridge bearing platforms for the Yue-Dong Bridge in deep and thick silt interlayers. The key technologies developed and applied in this paper offer significant and valuable insights for the construction of similar bearing platforms.

Objectives: The prevalence of G6PD deficiency has not been reported in Yangjiang, a western city in Guangdong province. This study aims to investigate the molecular characteristics of G6PD deficiency in this region.Methods: Blood samples were collected from adults at a local hospital to screen for G6PD deficiency. The deficient samples were subjected to further analysis using PCR and reverse dot blot to determine the specific G6PD variants.Results: Among the 3314 male subjects, 250 cases of G6PD deficiency were found using the G6PD enzyme quantitative assay, resulting in a prevalence of 7.54% (250/3314) in the Yangjiang region. The prevalence of G6PD deficiency in females was 3.42% (176/5145). Out of the 268 cases of G6PD deficiency tested for G6PD mutations, reverse dot blot identified 20 different G6PD variants. The most common G6PD variant was c.1388G>A (81/268), followed by c.1376G>T (48/268), c.95A>G (32/268), c.1024C>T (9/268), c.392G>T (7/268), and c.871G>A/c.1311C>T (6/268). It was observed that c.871G>A was always linked to the polymorphism of c.1311C>T in this population.Conclusion: This investigation into G6PD deficiency in this area is expected to significantly improve our understanding of the prevalence and molecular characterization of this condition.

BackgroundSleep problems in preschoolers are becoming increasingly prominent, and the association between sleep status and anxiety symptoms has attracted growing attention. However, studies investigating the relationship between bedtime and nighttime sleep duration in preschoolers and their anxiety symptoms remain scant. We used the large sample data from the Longhua Cohort Study of Children in Shenzhen, China (LCCS) to analyze the association between bedtime and sleep in preschoolers and their anxiety symptoms.MethodsA cross-sectional study of 69,138 preschoolers in Longhua District, Shenzhen, China was conducted in 2022. Data on sociodemographic characteristics of families, bedtime, nighttime sleep duration of preschoolers, and their anxiety symptoms (measured by the Spence Preschool Children Anxiety Scale) were collected through a structured questionnaire completed by the parents. Using binary logistic regression models, the relationship between bedtime, nighttime sleep duration, and childhood anxiety symptoms was examined.ResultsThe bedtimes of preschoolers were concentrated between 21:01–22:00 (52.41%). Among the preschoolers, 38.70% had bedtimes later than 22:00, and 75.49% had insufficient nighttime sleep duration. The positive screening rate for anxiety symptoms among preschoolers was 3.50%. After adjusting for confounding factors using binary logistic regression models, compared with preschoolers with bedtime ≤21:00, The OR (95%CI) values of anxiety in preschoolers with bedtime ≥23:01, 22:01–23:00 and 21:01–22:00 were 2.86 (2.21–3.69), 1.51 (1.27–1.79) and 1.48 (1.26–1.76), respectively. Compared with those with sufficient nighttime sleep duration, the OR (95%CI) of children with nighttime sleep duration less than 9 h was 1.36 (1.23–1.51).ConclusionAn association exists between bedtime and nighttime sleep duration in preschoolers and their anxiety symptoms. Preschoolers with 21:00 for bedtime and a nighttime sleep duration of 10 h may have lower anxiety symptoms. These findings support the importance of adequate sleep for preventing anxiety symptoms in children.

Background: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a leading cause of disability globally, affecting over 500 million individuals worldwide. However, accurate and early diagnosis of OA is challenging to achieve. Immune-related genes play an essential role in OA development. Therefore, the objective of this study was to develop a diagnostic model for OA based on immune-related genes identified in synovial membrane. Methods: The gene expression profile of OA were downloaded based on four datasets. The significantly differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between OA and control groups were selected. The differential immune cells were analyzed, followed by immune-related DEGs screening. WGCNA was used to screen module genes and these genes were further selected through optimization algorithm. Then, nomogram model was constructed. Chemical drug small molecule related to OA was predicted. Finally, expression levels of several key genes were validated by qRT-PCR through construction of OA rat models. Results: The total 656 DEGs were obtained. Eight immune cells were significantly differential between two groups, and 317 immune-related DEGs were obtained. WGCNA identified three modules. The genes in modules were significantly involved in 15 pathways, involving in 65 genes. Then 12 DEGs were screened as the final optimal combination of DEGs, such as CEBPB, CXCL1, JUND, GABARAPL2 and PDGFC. The Nomogram model was also constructed. Furthermore, the chemical small molecules, such as acetaminophen, aspirin, and caffeine were predicted. The expression levels of CEBPB, CXCL1, GABARAPL2 and PDGFC were validated in OA rat models. Conclusion: A diagnostic model based on twelve immune related genes was constructed. These model genes, such as CEBPB, CXCL1, GABARAPL2, and PDGFC, may serve as diagnostic biomarkers and immunotherapeutic targets.

Background: Autism is a severe neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by social interaction deficits, impairments in communication, and restricted and repetitive stereotyped behavior and activities. Family and twin studies suggested an essential role of genetic factors in the etiology of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Also, other studies found SORCS3 and GSDME (DFNA5) might be involved in brain development and susceptible to ASD. Methods: In this study, 17 genome-wide significant SNPs reported in previous ASD genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and 7 SNPs in strong linkage disequilibrium with known ASD GWAS hits were selected to investigate the association between these SNPs and autism in the Han Chinese population. Then, 10 tagSNPs in SORCS3 and 11 tagSNPs in GSDME were selected to analyze the association between these SNPs and autism. The selected 24 SNPs and tagSNPs were genotyped using the Agena MassARRAY SNP genotyping assay in 757 Han Chinese autism trios. In recent years, the demand for high capacity, long cycle life, fast charging, and increased safety lithium-ion batteries has become increasingly urgent, especially in the electric vehicle industry. The specific capacity of Li-ion batteries is growing steadily under the great efforts of researchers. However, fast charging, as one of the key technologies of lithium-ion batteries, is still not fully and efficiently resolved. Electric vehicles now have a sufficient driving range, but they take too long to refill compared to traditional vehicles. Here, we aligned polycrystalline NMC 811 microparticles by functionalized graphitic flakes (conductive graphite KS6) under a rotating magnetic field by 2 steps in the cathode fabrication process and constructed an effective and fast conducting three-dimensional conductive network for both electron and ion transport in the cathode system of a high-rate performance Li-ion battery. We successfully regulate and control the tortuosity and porosity of the NMC811 cathode on the electrode level. The new electrode structure has higher ionic conductivity and higher specific capacity. The specific capacity of the electrode with the new electrode structure is about four times and five times the reference electrode at 5 C and at 10 C, respectively. And, the half-cell of the electrode can be fed with 70 % SOC in a 6-min charge at 5 C.

With the continuous development of the Internet of Things (IoT) and the needs of the times, the number of IoT edge devices is rapidly increasing, and to be able to provide users with more reliable information services and decision-making, this paper constructs an IoT system based on cloud-edge collaboration. Based on cloud-edge collaboration, data mining technology is used to categorize data, and regression models and branch neural networks are combined to further improve the IoT system based on cloud-edge collaboration. Finally, the particle swarm algorithm is used to optimize reinforcement learning, and the framework of an IoT system built on cloud-edge partnership is established. Through the data processing experiments on IoT edge computing, the data mining performance of the IoT edge computing-based data mining method is improved by 0.0295, 0.1870, and 0.2059 on the large datasets of Dataset4 and Dataset5, respectively. the average turnaround time is lower than 6.5 for different edge computing power levels. The system rewards are gradually improved from 5.3 to 8.2, and the number of packet loss of the algorithm is less than 5. The feasibility and effectiveness of the IoT data mining method and system based on cloud-edge collaboration are confirmed by this study, and a feasible method for data mining can be applied to IoT systems under cloud-edge collaboration.

We explore the coupling between the accretion flow and the jet in black hole X-ray binary MAXI J1348-630 by analyzing the X-ray and radio observations during its 2019 outburst. We measure the time delay between the radio and Comptonization fluxes with the interpolated cross-correlation function. For the first time, we find that the radio emission lags behind the X-ray Comptonization emission by about 3 days during the rising phase covering the rising hard state and the following soft state. Such a long radio delay indicates that the Comptonization emission most likely originates from the advection-dominated accretion flow rather than the jet in this source. The Comptonization luminosity L _C in 0.1–100 keV and the radio luminosity L _R at 5.5 GHz, after considering the radio delay of ∼3 days, follow the correlation with a slope β = 3.04 ± 0.93, which is much steeper than the previously reported β = 0.6 or 1.40 using the total luminosity in the limited band (e.g., 1–10 keV) in the literature. This highlights the necessity of considering (1) the time delay, (2) the spectral decomposition, and (3) the broad energy band, in the radio–X-ray correlation analysis. As the jet reappears during the decaying phase (covering the soft state and the following decaying hard state) and the mini-outburst, the Componization and the radio emission appear to be almost simultaneous. And, the radio-Compton correlation during the mini-outburst becomes shallow with the correlation slope β = 1.11 ± 0.15. These indicate an intrinsic difference in the accretion–jet coupling physics between the main outburst and the mini-outburst.

Accurate and timely classification of crop rotations is essential to confront the issues of agricultural management and food crisis. Crop growth conditions generally exhibit a strong spatial heterogeneity pattern, resulting in crop growth characteristics varying with locations, limiting the classification accuracy of crop rotation. To overcome this limitation, an improved method named random forest based on rotation zoning strategy (RF_RZS) that classifies crop rotations under the consideration of spatial heterogeneity is proposed. In RF_RZS, the regionalization with dynamically constrained agglomerative clustering and partitioning method is used to adaptively mine the spatial homogeneous subzones of soil organic carbon (SOC), which represent the spatial heterogeneity pattern of crop rotation given the highly correlated relationship between crop rotation and SOC. The Boruta algorithm is employed to select the optimal feature subset within each subzone. A random forest classification method is applied to categorize crop rotations within the subzones. Two integrated indexes, OA_OZ and Kc_OZ, are proposed to evaluate the comprehensive performance of RF_RZS. Furthermore, a series of traditional methods is employed for comparison and evaluation. Results demonstrate that the OA_OZ and Kc_OZ of the RF_RZS method are 0.90 and 0.88, respectively, which are increased by 3–23% and 3–27%, respectively, compared with those of traditional classification methods. This research involves mixed cropping pattern of multiple rotational crops, and the proposed methodology can provide an effective guide for the classification of rotational crops with a fragmented distribution and a complex cropping structure.

Vitiligo is a skin pigmentation disorder caused by melanocyte damage or abnormal function. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) can cause oxidative stress damage to melanocytes, which in turn induces vitiligo. Traditional treatments such as phototherapy, drugs, and other methods of treatment are long and result in frequent recurrences. Currently, mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are widely used in the research of various disease treatments due to their excellent paracrine effects, making them a promising immunoregulatory and tissue repair strategy. Furthermore, an increasing body of evidence suggests that utilizing the paracrine functions of MSCs can downregulate oxidative stress in the testes, liver, kidneys, and other affected organs in animal models of certain diseases. Additionally, MSCs can help create a microenvironment that promotes tissue repair and regeneration in areas with oxidative stress damage, improving the disordered state of the injured site. In this article, we review the pathogenesis of oxidative stress in vitiligo and promising strategies for its treatment.

Abstract Phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase alpha (PI3Kα) inhibitors are currently evaluated for the therapy of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). It is of great importance to identify potential biomarkers to predict or monitor the efficacy of PI3Kα inhibitors in an aim to improve the clinical responsive rate in ESCC. Here, ESCC PDXs with CCND1 amplification were found to be more sensitive to CYH33, a novel PI3Kα-selective inhibitor currently in clinical trials for the treatment of advanced solid tumors including ESCC. Elevated level of cyclin D1, p21 and Rb was found in CYH33-sensitive ESCC cells compared to those in resistant cells. CYH33 significantly arrested sensitive cells but not resistant cells at G1 phase, which was associated with accumulation of p21 and suppression of Rb phosphorylation by CDK4/6 and CDK2. Hypo-phosphorylation of Rb attenuated the transcriptional activation of SKP2 by E2F1, which in turn hindered SKP2-mediated degradation of p21 and reinforced accumulation of p21. Moreover, CDK4/6 inhibitors sensitized resistant ESCC cells and PDXs to CYH33. These findings provided mechanistic rationale to evaluate PI3Kα inhibitors in ESCC patients harboring amplified CCND1 and the combined regimen with CDK4/6 inhibitors in ESCC with proficient Rb.

Abstract Chronic kidney disease (CKD) results mainly from diabetes, hypertension, and glomerulonephritis, which can develop into end‐stage renal disease and CKD‐related complications, thereby causing high morbidity and mortality. This progression is correlated with pathogenic alterations in the gut microbiota that generate uremic toxins, mainly including indoxyl sulfate, p‐cresol sulfate, and trimethylamine‐N‐oxide. The uremic toxins directly or indirectly induce CKD through oxidative stress, inflammatory response, and subsequently renal fibrosis. However, ongoing developments in CKD therapy still lack nutritional guidelines and new pharmacotherapies with significant effects. In this review, we discuss the modulatory effects of plant‐derived bioactive ingredients, such as dietary fiber (oligosaccharides and polysaccharides), polyphenols (e.g., curcumin, anthocyanins, catechins, and resveratrol), and peptides, on gut microbiota and CKD particularly from the view of the gut–kidney axis. We believe that a comprehensive understanding of the underlying mechanisms of CKD is necessary to develop new targeted therapy strategies that will benefit the prevention and treatment of CKD.

Abstract Reactive oxygen species (ROS) can induce oxidative injury and are generally regarded as toxic byproducts, although they are increasingly recognized for their signaling functions. Increased ROS often accompanies liver regeneration (LR) after liver injuries, however, their role in LR and the underlying mechanism remains unclear. Here, by employing a mouse LR model of partial hepatectomy (PHx), we found that PHx induced rapid increases of mitochondrial hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and intracellular H2O2 at an early stage, using a mitochondria-specific probe. Scavenging mitochondrial H2O2 in mice with liver-specific overexpression of mitochondria-targeted catalase (mCAT) decreased intracellular H2O2 and compromised LR, while NADPH oxidases (NOXs) inhibition did not affect intracellular H2O2 or LR, indicating that mitochondria-derived H2O2 played an essential role in LR after PHx. Furthermore, pharmacological activation of FoxO3a impaired the H2O2-triggered LR, while liver-specific knockdown of FoxO3a by CRISPR-Cas9 technology almost abolished the inhibition of LR by overexpression of mCAT, demonstrating that FoxO3a signaling pathway mediated mitochondria-derived H2O2 triggered LR after PHx. Our findings uncover the beneficial roles of mitochondrial H2O2 and the redox-regulated underlying mechanisms during LR, which shed light on potential therapeutic interventions for LR-related liver injury. Importantly, these findings also indicate that improper antioxidative intervention might impair LR and delay the recovery of LR-related diseases in clinics.

Abstract Objective Oculopharyngeal muscular dystrophy (OPMD) is a late‐onset inherited neuromuscular disorder, with progressive ptosis and dysphagia as common manifestations. To date, OPMD has rarely been reported among East Asians. The present study summarizes the phenotypic and genotypic features of Chinese patients with OPMD. Methods Twenty‐one patients with molecularly confirmed OPMD from 9 unrelated families were identified by direct sequencing of the polyadenlyate binding protein nuclear‐1 (PABPN1) gene. Immunofluorescence staining of muscle biopsies was conducted to identify the components of protein degradation pathways involved in OPMD. Results In our cohort, the genetically confirmed OPMD group had a mean age at onset of 50.6 ± 4.2 years (range 45–60 years). Ptosis (42.9%) was the most common initial symptom; patients with ptosis as the first symptom subsequently developed dysphagia within a median time of 5.5 years (range 1–19 years). Evidence of external ophthalmoplegia was found in 38.1% of patients. A total of 33.3% of the patients developed muscle weakness at a median age at onset of 66 years (range 50–70 years), with neck flexor involvement in all patients. Five genotypes were observed in our cohort, including classical (GCG)9–11 repeats in 7 families and non‐GCG elongations with additional GCA expansions in 2 families. OPMD muscle biopsies revealed rimmed vacuoles and intranuclear filamentous inclusions. The PABPN1 protein showed substantial accumulation in the nuclei of muscle fiber aggregates and closely colocalized with p62, LC3B and FK2. Interpretation Our findings indicate wide genetic heterogeneity in OPMD in the Chinese population and demonstrate abnormalities in protein degradation pathways in this disease.

Purpose: Oncology studies employing digital dissection methodologies have provided some insight on the biological features of tumor microenvironment of Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), but molecular diagnostics rarely have therapeutic impact. We aimed to identify a novel prognostic biomarker to investigate immune characteristics of TNBC using transcriptomic features.Patients and Methods: We extracted whole transcriptome from breast cancer tissue of 30 TNBC patients and then used bioinformatics approaches to characterize the different immune cell contents in tumor tissue and para-cancerous tissue. We extract 2 indicators to describe the major differences in immune infiltration in the microenvironment between tumor tissue and para-cancerous tissue. We then combined the 2 indicators that represent the levels of increased and decreased infiltration in each sample to obtain the Immune Infiltration Score (IIS). Then we compared the tumor-infiltrating immune cell contents and immune infiltrating status in TNBC samples with CIBERSORT and ESTIMATE score to validate the IIS. Finally, 132 TNBC patients from the Cancer Genome Atlas program (TCGA) dataset was used to validate the predictive power of IIS.Results: 4 types of upregulated and 4 types of downregulated immune cells were identified in the tumor tissue samples of the TNBC patients. Then we developed a novel biomarker, IIS. Results showed that IIS score can clearly separate cancer and para-cancerous tissue. Using the same cutoff value of 0 in the TNBC-TCGA cohort, we show that those patients with a higher IIS had significantly higher PD-L1 expression and shorter progression-free survival time than those with a lower IIS value, indicating IIS score can be generalized to other TNBC datasets.Conclusion: we explored the immune infiltration landscape in 30 TNBC patients and provided IIS as a novel and reliable biomarker to evaluate the progression-free survival and prognosis of the TNBC patients.

Abstract Background Acute renal injury (AKI) secondary to ischemia reperfusion (IR) injury continues to be a significant perioperative problem and there is no effective treatment. Mindin belongs to the mindin/F-spondin family and involves in inflammation, proliferation, and cell apoptosis. Previous studies have explored the biological functions of mindin in liver and brain ischemic injury, but its role in AKI is unknown. Method To investigate whether mindin has a pathogenic role, mindin knockout (KO) and wild-type (WT) mice were used to establish renal IR model. After 30 min of ischemia and 24 h of reperfusion, renal histology, serum creatinine, and inflammatory response were examined to assess kidney injury. In vitro, proinflammatory factors and inflammatory signaling pathways were measured in mindin overexpression or knockdown and vector cells after hypoxia/reoxygenation (HR). Results Following IR, the kidney mindin level was increased in WT mice and deletion of mindin provided significant protection for mice against IR-induced renal injury as manifested by attenuated the elevation of serum creatinine and blood urea nitrogen along with less severity for histological alterations. Mindin deficiency significantly suppressed inflammatory cell infiltration, TNF-α and MCP-1 production following renal IR injury. Mechanistic studies revealed that mindin deficiency inhibits TLR4/JNK/NF-κB signaling activation. In vitro, the expression levels of TNF-α and MCP-1 were increased in mindin overexpression cells compared with vector cells following HR. Moreover, TLR4/JNK/NF-κB signaling activation was elevated in the mindin overexpression cells in response to HR stimulation while mindin knockdown inhibited the activation of TLR4/JNK/ NF-κB signaling after HR in vitro. Further study showed that mindin protein interacted directly with TLR4 protein. And more, mindin protein was confirmed to be expressed massively in renal tubule tissues of human hydronephrosis patients. Conclusion These data demonstrate that mindin is a critical modulator of renal IR injury through regulating inflammatory responses. TLR4/JNK/NF-κB signaling most likely mediates the biological function of mindin in this model of renal ischemia.

Abstract Accurate and effective power system load forecasting is an important prerequisite for the safe and stable operation of the power grid and the normal production and operation of society. In recent years, convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have been widely used in time series prediction due to their parallel computing and other characteristics, but it is difficult for CNNs to capture the relationship of sequence context and meanwhile, it easily leads to information leakage. To avoid the drawbacks of CNNs, we adopt a temporal convolutional network (TCN), specially designed for time series. TCN combines causal convolution, dilated convolution, and residual connection, and fully considers the causal correlation between historical data and future data. Considering that the power load data has strong periodicity and is greatly influenced by seasons and holidays, we adopt the Prophet model to decompose the load data and fit the trend component, season component, and holiday component. We use TCN and Prophet to forecast the power load data respectively, and then use the least square method to fuse the two models, and make use of their respective advantages to improve the forecasting accuracy. Experiments show that the proposed TCN-Prophet model has a higher prediction accuracy than the classic ARIMA, RNN, LSTM, GRU, and some ensemble models, and can provide more effective decision-making references for power grid departments.

The genus Mastax Fischer von Waldheim 1827 belongs to the family Carabidae. Specimens of adult Mastax latefasciata Liebke, were collected from Yājì Hill, Huáihuà City, Húnán Province, China. The complete mitochondrial genome (GenBank accession number ON674050.1) of M. latefasciata was sequenced, annotated, and characterized. The results showed that it was a circular DNA molecule of 16,735 bp with 81.07% AT content and comprised 13 protein-coding genes (PCG), 22 tRNA genes, 2 rRNA genes, and 1 control region. The PCGs were initiated using typical ATN (Met) and TTG (Met) start codons and terminated using typical TAN stop codons. The phylogenetic position of Mastax within the Carabidae was first evaluated using complete mitogenomes, and the results showed that it was close to Cicindela anchoralis and Manticora tibialis.
