In this work we investigate the $J/\psi$ production in proton-proton collisions at the center-of-mass energy ($\sqrt{s}$) equal to 2.76, 5.02, 7, 8 and 13 TeV with a parton and hadron cascade model PACIAE 2.2a. It is based on PYTHIA but extended considering the partonic and hadronic rescatterings before and after hadronization, respectively. In the PYTHIA sector the $J/\psi$ production quantum chromodynamics processes are selected specially and a bias factor is proposed correspondingly. The calculated total cross sections, the differential cross sections as a function of the transverse momentum and the rapidity of $J/\psi$ in the forward rapidity region reproduce the corresponding experimental measurements reasonably well. In the mid-rapidity region, the double differential cross sections at $\sqrt{s}=$ 5.02, 7 and 13 TeV are also in a good agreement with the experimental data. Moreover, we interpolate the double differential cross section as well as the total cross section of $J/\psi$ in the mid-rapidity region at $\sqrt{s}=$ 8 TeV, which could be validated if the experimental data is available., Comment: 6 pages, 8 figures, 3 tables, accepted by Phys. Here, using unique in-situ liquid secondary ion mass spectroscopy on isotope-labelled solid-electrolyte-interphase (SEI), assisted by cryogenic transmission electron microscopy and constrained ab initio molecular dynamics simulation, for the first time we answer the question regarding Li+ transport mechanism across SEI, and quantitatively determine the Li+-mobility therein. We unequivocally unveil that Li+ transport in SEI follows a mechanism of successive displacement, rather than "direct-hopping". We further reveal, in accordance with spatial-dependence of SEI structure across the thickness, the apparent Li+ self-diffusivity varies from 6.7*10-19 m2/s to 1.0*10-20 m2/s, setting a quantitative gauging of ionic transport behavior of SEI layer against the underlining electrode as well as the rate limiting step of battery operation. This direct study on Li+ kinetics in SEI fills part of the decade-long knowledge gap about the most important component in advanced batteries and provides more precise guidelines to the tailoring of interphasial chemistries for future battery chemistries., Comment: 25 pages, 4 figures

Discrimination of entangled states is an important element of quantum enhanced metrology. This typically requires low-noise detection technology. Such a challenge can be circumvented by introducing nonlinear readout process. Traditionally, this is realized by reversing the very dynamics that generates the entangled state, which requires a full control over the system evolution. In this work, we present nonlinear readout of highly entangled states by employing reinforcement learning (RL) to manipulate the spin-mixing dynamics in a spin-1 atomic condensate. The RL found results in driving the system towards an unstable fixed point, whereby the (to be sensed) phase perturbation is amplified by the subsequent spin-mixing dynamics. Working with a condensate of 10900 {87}^Rb atoms, we achieve a metrological gain of 6.97 dB beyond the classical precision limit. Our work would open up new possibilities in unlocking the full potential of entanglement caused quantum enhancement in experiments.

Energy spectroscopy is a powerful tool with diverse applications across various disciplines. The advent of programmable digital quantum simulators opens new possibilities for conducting spectroscopy on various models using a single device. Variational quantum-classical algorithms have emerged as a promising approach for achieving such tasks on near-term quantum simulators, despite facing significant quantum and classical resource overheads. Here, we experimentally demonstrate multi-level variational spectroscopy for fundamental many-body Hamiltonians using a superconducting programmable digital quantum simulator. By exploiting symmetries, we effectively reduce circuit depth and optimization parameters allowing us to go beyond the ground state. Combined with the subspace search method, we achieve full spectroscopy for a 4-qubit Heisenberg spin chain, yielding an average deviation of 0.13 between experimental and theoretical energies, assuming unity coupling strength. Our method, when extended to 8-qubit Heisenberg and transverse-field Ising Hamiltonians, successfully determines the three lowest energy levels. In achieving the above, we introduce a circuit-agnostic waveform compilation method that enhances the robustness of our simulator against signal crosstalk. Our study highlights symmetry-assisted resource efficiency in variational quantum algorithms and lays the foundation for practical spectroscopy on near-term quantum simulators, with potential applications in quantum chemistry and condensed matter physics.

Critical phenomena of quantum systems are useful for enhancement of quantum sensing. However, experimental realizations of criticality enhancement have been confined to very few systems, owing to the stringent requirements, including the thermodynamical or scaling limit, and fine control of interacting quantum susystems or particles. We here propose a simple critical quantum sensing scheme that requires neither of these conditions. The critical system is realized with a single parametrically-driven bosonic mode involving many non-interacting bosons. We calculate the quantum Fisher information, and perform a simulation, which confirms the criticality-enabled enhancement. We further detail the response of one of the quadratures to the variation of the control parameter. The numerical results reveal that its inverted variance exhibits a diverging behavior at the critical point. Based on the presently available control techniques of parametric driving, we expect our scheme can be realized in different systems, e.g., ion traps and superconducting circuits., Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures

Non-Abelian gauge field (NAGF) plays a central role in understanding the geometrical and topological phenomena in physics. Here we experimentally induce a NAGF in the degenerate eigen subspace of a double-$\Lambda$ four-level atomic system. The non-Abelian nature of the gauge field is detected through the measurement of the non-commutativity of two successive evolution loops. Then we theoretically propose and experimentally demonstrate a novel scheme to measure the NAGF through multi-loop evolution and robust holonomic quantum gates. The demonstrated scheme offers the advantage of detecting the NAGF with amplification through multi-loop evolution. Pseudo-labeling has emerged as a popular and effective approach for utilizing unlabeled data. However, in the context of semi-supervised multi-label learning (SSMLL), conventional pseudo-labeling methods encounter difficulties when dealing with instances associated with multiple labels and an unknown label count. These limitations often result in the introduction of false positive labels or the neglect of true positive ones. To overcome these challenges, this paper proposes a novel solution called Class-Aware Pseudo-Labeling (CAP) that performs pseudo-labeling in a class-aware manner. The proposed approach introduces a regularized learning framework incorporating class-aware thresholds, which effectively control the assignment of positive and negative pseudo-labels for each class. Notably, even with a small proportion of labeled examples, our observations demonstrate that the estimated class distribution serves as a reliable approximation. Motivated by this finding, we develop a class-distribution-aware thresholding strategy to ensure the alignment of pseudo-label distribution with the true distribution. The correctness of the estimated class distribution is theoretically verified, and a generalization error bound is provided for our proposed method. Extensive experiments on multiple benchmark datasets confirm the efficacy of CAP in addressing the challenges of SSMLL problems.

Medical internet of things leads to revolutionary improvements in medical services, also known as smart healthcare. With the big healthcare data, data mining and machine learning can assist wellness management and intelligent diagnosis, and achieve the P4-medicine. However, healthcare data has high sparsity and heterogeneity. In this paper, we propose a Heterogeneous Transferring Prediction System (HTPS). Feature engineering mechanism transforms the dataset into sparse and dense feature matrices, and autoencoders in the embedding networks not only embed features but also transfer knowledge from heterogeneous datasets. Experimental results show that the proposed HTPS outperforms the benchmark systems on various prediction tasks and datasets, and ablation studies present the effectiveness of each designed mechanism. Experimental results demonstrate the negative impact of heterogeneous data on benchmark systems and the high transferability of the proposed HTPS.

A regression model of predictor trade-offs is described. Each regression parameter equals the expected change in Y obtained by trading 1 point from one predictor to a second predictor. The model applies to predictor variables that sum to a constant T for all observations; for example, proportions summing to T=1.0 or percentages summing to T=100 for each observation. If predictor variables sum to a constant T for all observations and if a least squares solution exists, the predicted values for the criterion variable Y will be uniquely determined, but there will be an infinite set of linear regression weights and the familiar interpretation of regression weights does not apply. However, the regression weights are determined up to an additive constant and thus differences in regression weights [beta][subscript v] - [beta][subscript v]* are uniquely determined, readily estimable, and interpretable [beta][subscript v] - [beta][subscript v]* is the expected increase in Y given a transfer of 1 point from variable v* to variable v. The model is applied to multiple-choice test items that have four response categories, one correct and three incorrect. Results indicate that the expected outcome depends, not just on the student's number of correct answers, but also on how the student's incorrect responses are distributed over the three incorrect response types. We present exotic quantum phases in a quantum Rabi hexagonal ring, which is derived by an analytical solution. We find that an artificial magnetic field applied in the ring induces an effect magnetic flux in the even and odd subring. It gives rise to two chiral quantum phases besides a ferro-superradiant and an antiferro-superradiant phases. With analogy to the magnetic system, two chiral phases are distinguished by the magnetization orientation in the $xy$ plane in two subrings, which correspond to skyrmion structures with different vorticity. In such chiral phases, photons in the subrings triangle flow in the same or opposite directions by comparing to the current in the hexagonal ring, which depend on the signs of the induced magnetic flux in the subrings. Interestingly, the critical exponents of the excitation energy in two chiral phases are the same as that of the subring triangle, exhibiting subring-size dependent critical exponents. Our analysis can be straightforwardly extended to a larger lattice size with subrings of a triangular or hexagonal structure, predicting a novel universality class of superradiant phase transitions. We report the experimental observation of the spin-wave moir\'e edge and cavity modes using Brillouin light scattering spectro-microscopy in a nanostructured magnetic moir\'e lattice consisting of two twisted triangle antidot lattices based on an yttrium iron garnet thin film. Spin-wave moir\'e edge modes are detected at an optimal twist angle and with a selective excitation frequency. At a given twist angle, the magnetic field acts as an additional degree of freedom for tuning the chiral behavior of the magnon edge modes. Micromagnetic simulations indicate that the edge modes emerge within the original magnonic band gap and at the intersection between a mini-flatband and a propagation magnon branch. Our theoretical estimate for the Berry curvature of the magnon-magnon coupling suggests a non-trivial topology for the chiral edge modes and confirms the key role played by the dipolar interaction. Our findings shed light on the topological nature of the magnon edge mode for emergent moir\'e magnonics.

In the absence of time-reversal invariance, metals without inversion symmetry may exhibit nonreciprocal charge transport -- a magnetochiral anisotropy that manifests as unequal electrical resistance for opposite current flow directions. If superconductivity also sets in, the charge transmission may become dissipationless in one direction while remaining dissipative in the opposite, thereby realizing a superconducting diode. Through both direct-current and alternating-current measurements, we study the nonreciprocal effects in thin films of the noncentrosymmetric superconductor T$_d$-MoTe\textsubscript{2} with disorders. We observe nonreciprocal superconducting critical currents with a diode efficiency close to 20\%~, and a large magnetochiral anisotropy coefficient up to $\SI{5.9e8}{\per\tesla\per\ampere}$, under weak out-of-plane magnetic field in the millitesla range. The great enhancement of rectification efficiency under out-of-plane magnetic field is likely abscribed to the vortex ratchet effect, which naturally appears in the noncentrosymmetric superconductor with disorders. Intriguingly, unlike the finding in Rashba systems, the strongest in-plane nonreciprocal effect does not occur when the field is perpendicular to the current flow direction. We develop a phenomenological theory to demonstrate that this peculiar behavior can be attributed to the asymmetric structure of spin-orbit coupling in T$_d$-MoTe\textsubscript{2}. Quantum systems that undergo quantum phase transitions exhibit divergent susceptibility and can be exploited as probes to estimate physical parameters. We generalize the dynamic framework for criticality-enhanced quantum sensing by the quantum Rabi model (QRM) to its anisotropic counterpart and derive the correspondingly analytical expressions for the quantum Fisher information (QFI). We find that the contributions of the rotating-wave and counterrotating-wave interaction terms are symmetric at the limit of the infinite ratio of qubit frequency to field frequency, with the QFI reaching a maximum for the isotropic quantum Rabi model. At finite frequency scaling, we analytically derive the inverted variance of higher-order correction and find that it is more affected by the rotating-wave coupling than by the counterrotating-wave coupling.

Scaling is now a key challenge in superconducting quantum computing. One solution is to build modular systems in which smaller-scale quantum modules are individually constructed and calibrated, and then assembled into a larger architecture. This, however, requires the development of suitable interconnects. Here, we report low-loss interconnects based on pure aluminium coaxial cables and on-chip impedance transformers featuring quality factors up to $8.1 \times 10^5$, which is comparable to the performance of our transmon qubits fabricated on single-crystal sapphire substrate. We use these interconnects to link five quantum modules with inter-module quantum state transfer and Bell state fidelities up to 99\%. To benchmark the overall performance of the processor, we create maximally-entangled, multi-qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) states. The generated inter-module four-qubit GHZ state exhibits 92.0\% fidelity. We also entangle up to 12 qubits in a GHZ state with $55.8 \pm 1.8\%$ fidelity, which is above the genuine multipartite entanglement threshold of 1/2. These results represent a viable modular approach for large-scale superconducting quantum processors.

Lithium metal batteries suffer from low cycle life. During discharge, parts of the lithium are not stripped reversibly and remain isolated from the current collector. This isolated lithium is trapped in the insulating remaining solid-electrolyte interphase (SEI) shell and contributes to the capacity loss. However, a fundamental understanding of why isolated lithium forms and how it can be mitigated is lacking. In this article, we perform a combined theoretical and experimental study to understand isolated lithium formation during stripping. We derive a thermodynamic consistent model of lithium dissolution and find that the interaction between lithium and SEI leads to locally preferred stripping and isolated lithium formation. Based on a cryogenic transmission electron microscopy (TEM) setup, we reveal that these local effects are particularly pronounced at kinks of lithium whiskers. We find that lithium stripping can be heterogeneous both on a nanoscale and on a larger scale. Cryo TEM observations confirm our theoretical prediction that isolated lithium occurs less at higher stripping current densities. The origin of isolated lithium lies in local effects, such as heterogeneous SEI, stress fields, or the geometric shape of the deposits. Quantum sensing improves the accuracy of measurements of relevant parameters by exploiting the unique properties of quantum systems. The divergent susceptibility of physical systems near a critical point for quantum phase transition enables criticality-enhanced quantum sensing. The quantum Rabi model (QRM), composed of a single qubit coupled to a single bosonic field, represents a good candidate for realizing such critical enhancement for its simplicity, but it is experimentally challenging to achieve the ultrastrong qubit-field coupling required to realize the critical phenomena. In this work, we explore an alternative to construct the analog of the QRM for the sensing, exploiting the criticality appearing in the Jaynes-Cummings (JC) model whose bosonic field is parametrically driven, not necessitating the ultrastrong coupling condition thus to some extent relaxing the requirement for the practical implementation., Comment: 8 pages, 4 figures

Non-invasive brain-computer interfaces help the subjects to control external devices by brain intentions. The multi-class classification of upper limb movements can provide external devices with more control commands. The onsets of the upper limb movements are located by the external limb trajectory to eliminate the delay and bias among the trials. However, the trajectories are not recorded due to the limitation of experiments. The delay cannot be avoided in the analysis of signals. The delay negatively influences the classification performance, which limits the further application of upper limb movements in the brain-computer interface. This work focuses on multi-channel brain signals analysis in the temporal-frequency approach. It proposes the two-stage-training temporal-spectral neural network (TTSNet) to decode patterns from brain signals. The TTSNet first divides the signals into various filter banks. In each filter bank, task-related component analysis is used to reduce the dimension and reject the noise of the brain. A convolutional neural network (CNN) is then used to optimize the temporal characteristic of signals and extract class-related features. Finally, these class-related features from all filter banks are fused by concatenation and classified by the fully connected layer of the CNN. The proposed method is evaluated in two public datasets. The results show that TTSNet has an improved accuracy of 0.7456$\pm$0.1205 compared to the EEGNet of 0.6506$\pm$0.1275 ($p<0.05$) and FBTRCA of 0.6787$\pm$0.1260 ($p<0.1$) in the movement detection task, which classifies the movement state and the resting state. The proposed method is expected to help detect limb movements and assist in the rehabilitation of stroke patients.

Quantum entanglement can provide enhanced precision beyond standard quantum limit (SQL), the highest precision achievable with classical means. It remains challenging, however, to observe large enhancement limited by the experimental abilities to prepare, maintain, manipulate and detect entanglement. Here, we present nonlinear interferometry protocols based on echoing spin-nematic squeezing to achieve record high enhancement factors in atomic Bose-Einstein condensate. The echo is realized by a state-flip of the spin-nematic squeezed vacuum, which serves as the probe state and is refocused back to the vicinity of the unsqueezed initial state while carrying out near noiseless amplification of a signal encoded. A sensitivity of $21.6\pm0.5$ decibels (dB) for a small-angle Rabi rotation beyond the two-mode SQL of 26400 atoms as well as $16.6\pm1.3$ dB for phase sensing in a Ramsey interferometer are observed. The absolute phase sensitivity for the latter extrapolates to $103~\rm{pT/\sqrt{Hz}}$ at a probe volume of $18~\mu\rm{m}^3$ for near-resonant microwave field sensing. Our work highlights the excellent many-body coherence of spin-nematic squeezing and suggests its possible quantum metrological applications in atomic magnetometer, atomic optical clock, and fundamental testing of Lorentz symmetry violation, etc.

A transfer reaction and cluster-decay experiment, $^{12}$C($^{16}$O,$^{24}$Mg$\rightarrow$$\alpha$+$^{20}$Ne)$\alpha$, was performed at a beam energy of 96 MeV. Both recoil and decay $\alpha$ particles were detected in coincidence, allowing us to deduce the energy-momentum of a $^{20}$Ne fragment. A number of resonant states of $^{24}$Mg were reconstructed up to an excitation energy of approximately 30 MeV. Owing to the experimentally achieved excellent resolutions of the $Q$-value and excitation-energy spectra, the relative decay widths for each resonant state in $^{24}$Mg to various final states of $^{20}$Ne were extracted, alone with the total decay width. The obtained results provide good testing ground for theoretical descriptions of the multiple clustering configurations in $^{24}$Mg.

We report on coherent propagation of antiferromagnetic (AFM) spin waves over a long distance ($\sim$10 $\mu$m) at room temperature in a canted AFM $\alpha$-Fe$_2$O$_3$ with the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction (DMI). Unprecedented high group velocities (up to 22.5 km/s) are characterized by microwave transmission using all-electrical spin wave spectroscopy. We derive analytically AFM spin-wave dispersion in the presence of the DMI which accounts for our experimental results. The AFM spin waves excited by nanometric coplanar waveguides with large wavevectors enter the exchange regime and follow a quasi-linear dispersion relation. Fitting of experimental data with our theoretical model yields an AFM exchange stiffness length of 1.7 angstrom. Our results provide key insights on AFM spin dynamics and demonstrate high-speed functionality for AFM magnonics.

Anderson acceleration (AA) as an efficient technique for speeding up the convergence of fixed-point iterations may be designed for accelerating an optimization method. We propose a novel optimization algorithm by adapting Anderson acceleration to the energy adaptive gradient method (AEGD) [arXiv:2010.05109]. The feasibility of our algorithm is examined in light of convergence results for AEGD, though it is not a fixed-point iteration. We also quantify the accelerated convergence rate of AA for gradient descent by a factor of the gain at each implementation of the Anderson mixing. Our experimental results show that the proposed algorithm requires little tuning of hyperparameters and exhibits superior fast convergence., Comment: 18 pages, 4 figures
