También resulta de interés a utilizadores o futuros usuarios de impresoras 3D; así como a profesores y alumnos de enseñanza secundaria, de formación profesional y universitarios. Por la actual repercusión social de la fabricación aditiva puede ser de interés para periodistas y personas relacionadas con los medios de comunicación., Dar a conocer la fabricación aditiva como una posibilidad para la reindustrialzaición de territorios de la España con graves problemas de despoblamiento La Fabricación Aditiva (Additive Manufacturing) engloba a un conjunto de procesos y tecnologías que permiten la obtención de piezas mediante procesos de adicción de partículas de material en posiciones predeterminadas, lográndose con ello la forma final de dichas piezas en un proceso único. Frente a los procesos tradicionales de fabricación más utilizados en la industria, presenta ventajas innegables como, entre otros, la desaparición de desperdicios de material, el ahorro energético en el ciclo de vida de las piezas y la ausencia de restricciones en la geometría de las piezas. También produce cambios importantes en el enfoque, estrategias y aspectos sociológico-laborales de los sistemas productivos y favorece la fabricación distribuida, la colaboración de pequeñas empresas y promueve el mantenimiento y generación de empleo. La Fabricación Aditiva se ha convertido en uno de los iconos de la Industrial 4.0.

BackgroundWe aimed to determine whether a 6-day course of intravenous methylprednisolone (MP) improves outcome in patients with SARS CoV-2 infection at risk of developing Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS).MethodsMulticentric, partially randomized, preference, open-label trial, including adults with COVID-19 pneumonia, impaired gas exchange and biochemical evidence of hyper-inflammation. Patients were assigned to standard of care (SOC), or SOC plus intravenous MP [40mg/12h 3 days, then 20mg/12h 3 days]. The primary endpoint was a composite of death, admission to the intensive care unit (ICU) or requirement of non-invasive ventilation (NIV).ResultsWe analyzed 85 patients (34, randomized to MP; 22, assigned to MP by clinician’s preference; 29, control group). Patients’ age (mean 68±12 yr) was related to outcome. The use of MP was associated with a reduced risk of the composite endpoint in the intention-to-treat, age-stratified analysis (combined risk ratio -RR-0.55 [95% CI 0.33-0.91]; p=0.024). In the per-protocol analysis, RR was 0.11 (0.01-0.83) in patients aged 72 yr or less, 0.61 (0.32-1.17) in those over 72 yr, and 0.37 (0.19-0.74, p=0.0037) in the whole group after age-adjustment by stratification. The decrease in C-reactive protein levels was more pronounced in the MP group (p=0.0003). Hyperglycemia was more frequent in the MP group.ConclusionsA short course of MP had a beneficial effect on the clinical outcome of severe COVID-19 pneumonia, decreasing the risk of the composite end point of admission to ICU, NIV or death.

RESUMEN Presentamos caso clínico de puérpera de cesárea de noveno día con cuadro febril en espigas, asintomática, en que se plantea desde su ingreso el diagnóstico de tromboflebitis séptica pelviana y se inicia tratamiento con antibióticos parenterales de amplio espectro y heparina de bajo peso molecular en dosis terapéuticas. La respuesta es a la mejoría al tercer día de tratamiento. Se discuten los métodos diagnósticos, el diagnóstico diferencial y el tratamiento.

The article maintains that Gabriel Boric`s electoral win was due to the sheer moment in which the social trends and public opinion allowed to convince the society that a bunch of deep changes should be launched and carried out in a bid to replace the political and social system. The democratic energy of the process and its more reformist than revolutionary nature made it feasible for Boric to overcome the communist (Daniel Jadue) and a left-wing populist (Pamela Jiles) candidates in the first round and to defeat the far-right candidate in the second round. In spite of the success, the political environment is rife with contradictions. There is a heavy risk that conservative regression could take place because of the very radical dynamics the period incubates. The author comes round to thinking that Boric should chime his idealistic virtues with greater political realism in action in order to avoid gross blunders and gaffes (particularly, the falling into Jacobin temptation) and get down to building of a new, broader and stauncher coalition which could prop up his project of structural reforms.

The prevalence of peanut allergy (PA) has increased, affecting approximately 1.1% of children in Western countries. PA causes life-threatening anaphylaxis and frequently persists for life. There are no standardized curative therapies for PA, and avoidance of peanuts remains the main therapeutic option. A better understanding of the pathogenesis of PA is essential to identify new treatment strategies. Intestinal dendritic cells (DCs) are essential in the induction and maintenance of food tolerance because they present dietary allergens to T cells, thereby directing subsequent immune responses. Areas covered: In this review, we discuss the factors related to the acquisition of oral tolerance to peanut proteins. We focus on intestinal DC-related aspects, including the latest advances in the biology of intestinal DC subtypes, effect of tolerance-inducing factors on DCs, effect of dietary components on oral tolerance, and role of DCs in peanut sensitization. Expert commentary: Given the increasing prevalence of PA, difficulty of avoiding peanut products, and the potentially serious accidental reactions, the development of novel therapies for PA is needed. The ability of DCs to trigger tolerance or immunity makes them an interesting target for new treatment strategies against PA.

El texto resume el contenido de la ponencia presentada en el II Congreso Latinoamericano de Grupos de Investigación en Currículum. Así, describe la revisión de parte de la literatura disponible en Chile sobre la enseñanza de la Historia, se realiza un análisis que permite avanzar en la comprensión de estos procesos como parte de lo que en los estudios curriculares se ha denominado como currículum enseñado. Para esto, se da cuenta de un conjunto de ideas claves en torno a las dimensiones del currículum y en particular en relación al reconocimiento de las expresiones del currículum enseñado en el contexto chileno. En el desarrollo de este ejercicio se levanta una interpretación inicial en torno a las dimensiones del quehacer curricular enseñado y su despliegue dentro del contexto nacional, en particular las dimensiones vivenciales y colectivas de este fenómeno.

Este es un trabajo exploratorio que tiene por finalidad analizar la participación ciudadana como mecanismo de incidencia en la definición de actos administrativos o políticas públicas. Para ello, se estudia el proceso de elaboración de los planes de prevención y/o descontaminación como instrumentos que manifiestan un problema global en un territorio donde resulta indispensable la adopción de medidas y en que la incidencia de la participación debería ser gravitante y efectiva. Con tal finalidad, se expone el marco regulatorio nacional, el proceso de elaboración de los planes y los resultados de la participación, demostrando que no existe consistencia entre lo normativamente pretendido y la implementación de los procedimientos participativos.

The pilot production ecosystem deployed by the EU-project OASIS consists of 12 pilot lines (PLs) for the manufacture of nanomaterials, nano-intermediates and nano-enabled products, intended for the final production of lightweight multifunctional products, based on aluminium and polymer composites, for construction, energy, automotive and aeronautics. OASIS intends to deploy this nanomanufacturing ecosystem under a common umbrella of sustainable production, to ensure a future competitive, quality, safe and environmentally friendly production of nanoproducts, in compliance with the applicable regulation. This paper introduces the new OASIS-Sustainable Nanomanufaturing Framework (OASIS-SNF) and some first results obtained during the initial stages of deployment in the PLs (diagnostic and planning stages). The adoption of the OASIS-SNF among the OASIS PLs is intended to enable them to sustainable manufacturing their nanoproducts, properly manage their sustainability priorities, and continually improve their sustainability performance (management and results). AimsThe aim of this study was to describe the characteristics of the bone marrow infiltration found in a series of clinically defined lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma (LPL)/Waldenström macroglobulinaemia (WM) and IgM-monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) and to perform a targeted next-generation sequencing (NGS) for the identification of additional somatic mutations to MYD88p.L265P in LPL/WM.MethodsWe have reviewed a series of 35 bone marrow biopsies from 28 patients with a clinical diagnosis of LPL/WM (24 cases) or MGUS (4 cases). Bone marrow infiltration characteristics by morphology, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry (FCM), allele-specific real-time PCR for the detection of MYD88p.L265P mutation, targeted exonic amplicon-based NGS of 35 lymphoma-related genes and direct sequencing were analysed.ResultsOur findings show that bone marrow trephine biopsy evaluation is superior to FCM in the identification of significant lymphoid infiltrates. A combined paratrabecular and interstitial infiltration pattern is the most common feature in LPL/WM while a patchy interstitial pattern characterises IgM-MGUS cases. MYD88p.L265P mutation was found by allele-specific-PCR in 92% of the LPL cases (22 out of 24) and 25% of IgM-MGUS cases (1 out of 4 cases). In addition to MYD88p.L265P somatic mutations in CXCR4, KMT2D, PRDM1/Blimp1, MYC and ID3 were found by NGS and direct sequencing in 4 cases.ConclusionsIn conclusion, bone marrow core biopsy evaluation is critical in the identification of unequivocal bone marrow infiltration by LPL/WM. In addition to MYD88p.L265P, somatic mutations in CXCR4, KMT2D, PRDM1/Blimp1, MYC and ID3 can appear in a fraction of LPL/WM.

A pathological fracture is defined as that which occurs through an abnormal bone. Approximately 20,000 benign neoplasms of the musculoskeletal system are diagnosed each year. Often the pain of the fracture is the first symptom of a pathological process in the bone. The site, age and radiographic appearance create a differential diagnosis for pathological fractures that remains broad. The clinical examination evaluates the condition of the skin, palpating any tissue mass and determining if there are local inflammatory signs such as erythema, heat or edema. The biopsy is highly recommended to confirm the diagnosis of a pathological fracture.To determine which benign bone tumors and pseudotumoral lesions produce fractures in childrens bones more frequently in our institution.Cross-sectional retrospective study, review of records of patients with diagnosis of pathological fracture, attended in the period from March 2013 to March 2017, were reviewed. Results: The benign tumors that caused fractures in previously damaged areas were: aneurysmal bone cyst 13, enchondroma 5, osteoid osteoma 3, giant cell tumor 2.At our institution, aneurysmal bone cysts were the benign tumors that most frequently produce pathological fractures in children, with predominance in males.Se define fractura patológica a la que se produce a través de un hueso anormal. Cada año se diagnostican aproximadamente 20,000 neoplasias benignas del sistema musculoesquelético. A menudo, el dolor de la fractura es el primer síntoma de un proceso patológico en el hueso. El sitio, la edad y la apariencia radiográfica crean un diagnóstico diferencial para las fracturas patológicas que sigue siendo amplio. El examen clínico evalúa la condición de la piel, palpar cualquier masa de tejido y determinar si hay signos inflamatorios locales como eritema, calor o edema. La toma de biopsia es muy recomendable para confirmar el diagnóstico de una fractura patológica.Determinar qué tumores óseos benignos y qué lesiones seudotumorales producen fracturas en huesos de niños con mayor frecuencia en nuestro hospital.Estudio retrospectivo transversal, se revisaron expedientes de pacientes con diagnóstico de fractura en terreno patológico, atendidos en el período de Marzo de 2013 a Marzo de 2017.Los tumores benignos que ocasionaron fracturas en terreno previamente dañado fueron: quiste óseo aneurismático 13, encondroma cinco, osteoma osteoide tres, tumor de células gigantes dos.En nuestra institución, los quistes óseos aneurismáticos fueron los tumores benignos que con mayor frecuencia producen fracturas patológicas en niños, con predominio en el sexo masculino.
