The calculations by this method, however, sometimes diverge for wings of low aspect ratio. In this paper, this method is modified to be able to apply to the wings of low aspect ratio. Problem of CFD Workshop on transonic flow analysis of ONERA M5 full configuration is described in short. M5 analysis was revisited in ANSS2001. The first workshop was held in SACAD92 and 93. The object is to evaluate the progress of CFD in the past ten years. Description of 3D Problem is given. It consists of Problem A,B and C, concerning flow analysis around ONERA M5 configuration. Problem A is to compute the flow at free stream conditions of Mach number, 0.84, Reynolds number, 1 x 10(exp 6) and angle of attack, a = -1 deg, with free transition condition. Problem B is to compute the flow at free stream conditions of Mach number, 0.84, Reynolds number, 6 x 10(exp 7) and angle of attack a = -1 deg with full turbulence condition. Problem C is to compute the aerodynamic characteristics of the model at free stream conditions of Mach number, 0.84, Reynolds number, 2 x 10(exp 6) and angles of attack a = -3 deg, -2 deg and -1 deg and to make plots of C(sub L)-a, C(sub L)-C(sub D) and C(sub L)-C(sub M) curves. There were four applicant teams for the present workshop. Because of time span between the announcement and the workshop was short to conduct full computation for three-D aircraft configuration even now, only one applicant presented the complete set of cases. The remaining teams presented some of the problems or trial case. After the workshop they are working on to complete analysis and will present their results in near future which will be put on the CFD on Web. In this compendium, because of this, a general survey look on the applicants analyses is presented. The Problem A is to compute a shock-less flow of Garabedian-Korn 75-06-12 Airfoil at design condition of Mach number, 0.75, C(sub 1), 0.63, Reynolds number, 6 and 20 x 10(exp 6). The Problem B is to obtain the aerodynamic characteristics of Mach number sweep and angle of attack sweep. The reference point is the same condition in Problem A. The output data format is described. The results are compared with experimental data to investigate the subject for the simulation of the flow fields at high angle of attack. 航空宇宙技術研究所 7-9 Jun. 2000 東京 日本, National Aerospace Laboratory 7-9 Jun. 2000 Tokyo Japan, 「CFD(計算流体力学)は翼型失速角を予測できるか?」と題する2次元翼型失速予測に関するCFDワークショップが行われ、11グループの応募があった。10グループが発表を行い、8グループが計算結果のデータを提出した。後縁剥離型(A1)、前縁剥離型(A2)、薄翼剥離型(A3)の3種の失速特性をもつ実験結果をシミュレーションの結果と比較した。各結果については各グループの論文にまとめた。時間の制約のため、これらをすべて比較検討することができなかったが、今後、ウェブサイトにて公開予定だ。各グループは種々の方程式、解析法、乱流モデルを使用した。完全乱流を仮定した解析が多く、自然遷移を取り入れたものは良い結果を得られなかった。厚翼A1では、どの結果も後縁剥離を出し、失速角も15度から17度とほぼ一致した。これは、実際の流れが前縁近くで遷移しているためだった。A2翼型では、グループにより前縁失速と後縁失速の違いがあった。A3薄翼も同様にさまざまな結果がでた。今後の課題としては、(1)遷移判定を含む境界層を計算する、(2)定量的なレイノルズ数効果を出せるようにする、(3)大規模剥離領域での乱流モデルの適正な評価法を確立するトピックスを研究すべきだ。, CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) workshop on 2D (two dimensional) airfoil stall prediction: 'Can CFD predict airfoil stall angle?' was held and 11 teams applied to it. Ten teams presented their results and eight teams submitted computed data. Three experimental results of stall characteristics of trailing edge separation (A1), leading edge separation (A2), and thin air foil separation (A3) were compared with simulation results, which are given in the respective team's paper. Due to short time of preparation, full comparison was not made and left for later presentation on the web. Each team used various equations, analytical methods, or turbulent models. Many teams assumed full turbulence. Those which used natural transition could not obtain good results. As for thick airfoil A1, all teams obtained results of the trailing edge separation and their stall angles were almost the same, 15 to 17 deg. This is due to the transition of real fluid near the leading edge. As for A2 airfoil type, they obtained diverse results, namely leading edge stall or trailing edge stall. As for A3 thin airfoil, they also obtained various results. In the future, the following topics should be investigated: (1) to calculate the boundary layer containing transition; (2) to obtain quantitative Reynolds number effect; and (3) to establish the appropriate evaluation method of turbulent models in the large scale separation region., 資料番号: AA0028635032, レポート番号: NAL SP-46

A brief review of CFD development efforts in the past and present are described and various issues which are important in further development of CFD are given. They are development of superpowered parallel processor for CFD, more accurate models for turbulence in compressible flows and chemical reactions in combustion burner and hypersonic flow, scheme for vortical flows, grid generation techniques, and CFD code validation. 航空宇宙技術研究所 10-11 Jun. 1993 東京 日本, National Aerospace Laboratory 10-11 Jun. 1993 Tokyo Japan, 航技研(NAL)特別資料SP-20に述べられた「2次元部門課題:Garabedian-Korn翼型」に対する結果報告の要約を与えた。SP-20では、提出された全ての計算結果を相互の差が分るように図にプロットした。「課題A:設計点での計算」について特に論じた。圧力分布はかなりよく一致するものの、翼弦方向の乱流境界層の特性、速度プロフィール、境界層および伴流における渦粘性係数はかなりばらつくことが判明した。そのような結果になる要因および今後に改良すべき点を論じた。本報告では結論のみを示した。, A summary of the Compendium of results of two dimensional problem: Garabedian-Korn Airfoil reported in NAL SP-20 is given. In NAL SP-20 all of the submitted computation results were plotted on the respective figures to see the differences. Problem A: Design point computation was discussed significantly. Although pressure distribution gives fairly good agreement, turbulent boundary layer characteristics along chord, velocity profiles and eddy viscosity coefficient distributions in the boundary layer and wake disclosed scattered variation.
