An effort to maintain roads still in condition in Mataram City required maintenance even reconstruction. Related matter that, necessary information fast about condition surface road. This is important so can make decisions in handling the road. Information in the form of a map showing the condition and location of road damage is very helpful in speed of handling. Making maps relies heavily on data readiness to calculate road damage. Using application Mobile Mapping System (MMS) for damage data collection through photo tagging and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), can speed up making maps. The method used in the analysis of damaged roads is method Surface Distress Index (SDI). Based on the application This obtained the type of damaged road and at the same time position with synchronization location using GPS. The result of is novelty study is a map condition of surface roads in the city of Mataram spread out over 6 sub-sub-districts It is in condition good until damaged heavily. Based on the total length of Mataram City roads (312,529 km), the conditions and handling patterns provided are: (1) Good (85%): Routine maintenance (light green); (2) Medium (9%): Light rehabilitation (green); (3) Minor damage (3%): Heavy rehabilitation (yellow); and (4) Heavy damaged (3%): Reconstruction (red). This research and development project aimed to create learning materials in the form of an Internet of Things (IoT) trainer kit specifically designed for the Digital Circuit course. The goal was to enhance student motivation and learning outcomes by facilitating a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter. The research methodology employed was research and development (R&D) utilizing the Instructional Development Institute (IDI) development model, which consists of define, develop, and evaluate stages. Primary data were gathered from experts in instrumentation, media, and materials, as well as feedback from lecturers and students. The findings revealed a high level of validity for the IoT trainer kit learning media. Media experts assigned a validity value of 0.93, while material experts provided a validity value of 0.86. The practicality of the media was confirmed by favorable responses from lecturers, indicating a practicality score of 87.31%. Additionally, students' responses after the trial reflected a high practicality rating of 83.25%. Regarding effectiveness, the IoT trainer kit learning media demonstrated success in improving student learning outcomes, with a gain score of 77.25%, affirming its effectiveness. In conclusion, the IoT trainer kit Learning Media is considered valid, practical, and effective for teaching digital circuits within the Electrical Engineering Study Program at Muhammadiyah University of West Sumatra. Indonesia currently complies with the Aircraft Classification Number – Pavement Classification Number (ACN-PCN) system for airport pavement rating. The outdated ACN-PCN system is known to be inconsistent with modern airport pavement design methods. To resolve this issue, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) introduced a new Aircraft Classification Rating – Pavement Classification Rating (ACRPCR) system. The transition to ACR-PCR resulted in substantial expenses for the industry. The lack of an organized record of airport pavement construction posed a challenge in implementing the new system without a comprehensive yet costly pavement investigation. The objective of this study is to propose simplified and rational methods for the characterization of airport flexible pavement material that is compatible with the newly published ACR-PCR system. Implementation of the proposed method is demonstrated through an example case. This study compares the pavement rating between material characteristics proposed by the method and values obtained from the field non-destructive pavement deflection test. The proposed method integrates the Asphalt Concrete (AC) modulus prediction model based on pavement temperature observation. Analysis was performed using FAARFIELD and ICAO-ACR computer programs. The results show that the proposed method would exhibit a more conservative rating for the pavement. This method is expected to provide a practical and cost-effective solution for airports, particularly those with limited funding, in transitioning to the ICAO ACR-PCR system. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Multidrug resistance is a global health problem that is closely related to microbial resistance. Klebsiella pneumonia and Proteus mirabilis are opportunistic bacteria that cause urinary tract infections, especially in the use of catheters in hospitals in inpatient care. Handling it using commercial antibiotics can increase the effect of antibacterial resistance if the use is irrational and neglected. Avocado leaves have been reported to have antibacterial, antidiabetic and antioxidant activity. The purpose of this study was to observe into the antibacterial activity of avocado leaves ethanol extract against K. pneumoniae and P. mirabilis. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) was determined using the Kirby-Bauer method, the minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) was determined using the streaking method of the inhibition zone formed, and the mechanism of bacterial membrane leakage cell was measured using UVVIS spectrophotometry at wavelengths of 260 and 280 nm. The MIC value was found to be 3.125 mg/mL in both bacteria, with an inhibition zone of 6.43 ± 0.06 mm (K. pneumoniae) and 6.73 ± 0.15 mm (P. mirabilis). The MBC value at 200 mg/mL with a percent reduction of 98.35 % (K. pneumoniae) and at 100 mg/mL with a percent reduction of 98.06 % (P. mirabilis). The supernatant of a membrane leakage cell (DNA and protein) was absorbed at wavelengths of 260 and 280 nm. It can be concluded that the ethanolic extract of avocado leaves has antibacterial potential against clinical isolates of K. pneumoniae and P. mirabilis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Wedang uwuh is a functional beverage prepared by boiling a combination of spices, namely sappan wood, ginger, nutmeg leaves, cinnamon leaves, cloves, and clove leaves. It is reported to have antioxidant, antibacterial, and immune-enhancing properties due to its active compounds. This traditional beverage shows potential in reducing infections caused by Escherichia coli, highlighting the importance of proper preparation methods. The objective of this study was to evaluate the antibacterial activity of wedang uwuh prepared by different boiling duration (5, 10, 15, and 20 min) to determine the optimal time for maximum effectiveness. Phytochemical changes, as indicated by color alterations, were assessed by a descriptive approach while a disc diffusion method was used as an antibacterial assay to measure the inhibition zone diameter against E. coli. Compounds in each treatment were analyzed using GC-MS. Phytochemical screening confirmed the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, triterpenoids, and tannins in all variations. Antibacterial testing revealed that boiling for 15 min exhibited the highest activity, with an inhibition zone diameter of 10.43±1.33 mm, reflecting strong antibacterial efficacy. This result significantly differed from the 5 and 10 min treatments. The 5 min boiling treatment demonstrated a smaller inhibition zone with an average diameter of 5.71±1.67 mm, indicating moderate antibacterial activity, but it did not differ significantly from the 10 min treatment. A chemical analysis by GC-MS for the 15 min boiling sample successfully identified 23 compounds, and among these chemicals, hexadecanoic acid was found as the predominant component. The Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG) is widely regarded as the current state of the art in mechanistic-empirical pavement analysis and design. The guide offers a comprehensive set of procedures for determining overlay thickness, a crucial aspect of pavement design. The objective of this study is to investigate the differences that arise when designing overlay thickness using two distinct methods: the Asphalt Institute's mechanistic-empirical and the MEPDG. This study utilized KENLAYER software, which enables stress and strain analysis by modeling the nonlinear elastic pavement structure. Accordingly, the Asphalt Institute method solely relies on alligator cracking and rut depth as its failure indicators, while the MEPDG encompasses several additional criteria that serve as determinants for evaluating the performance of pavement structure. The subject of this study is flexible pavement situated on a road located in West Java, Indonesia. Following this, a falling weight deflectometer (FWD) test was conducted to obtain the deflection characteristics of the road. This paper provides a detailed explanation of overlay thickness calculation processes employed in both the Asphalt Institute's mechanistic-empirical and the MEPDG method. The Asphalt Institute Method resulted in a slightly thicker overlay of 30 cm, while the MEPDG method produced a thickness of 25 cm. To adapt and apply MEPDG effectively in Indonesia, adaptations such as employing Weigh-In-Motion data for load spectra and conducting local calibration are necessary. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
