Background: Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) is the gold standard therapy for treating obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) disorder. However, patients’ adherence to its regular use is poor. The present study aimed to determine the adherence rate to CPAP therapy by identifying factors affecting its regular use and its associated problems and discomforts among a sample population in Mashhad (Iran). Methods: The study was conducted from October 2017 to March 2018 in Mashhad (Iran) using both quantitative and qualitative methods. The quantitative study was carried out using a retrospective cross-sectional data collection from five sleep clinics and one CPAP sales office. The patients were classified into an adherent and a non-adherent group to determine the factors affecting CPAP adherence. Quantitative data were analyzed using SPSS software (version 22.0). Additionally, a prospective qualitative study was performed through a series of telephone interviews using the content analysis method. Qualitative data were analyzed using MAXQDA 10 software.Results: In the quantitative study, the medical records of 159 patients were used, out of which 79 (49.6%) were non-adherent to CPAP therapy. The mean age of all patients was 56.9±9.8 years. The mean body mass index, apnea-hypopnea index, and Epworth sleepiness scale (ESS) scores were 30.9±6.6 kg/m2, 37.2±28.1 events/hour, and 10.4±5.5, respectively. At baseline, the adherent group had a significantly higher age (P=0.006), higher oxygen desaturation index (P=0.006), and lower ESS (P=0.023) compared to the non-adherent group. In the qualitative study, a total of 29 telephone interviews were held with patients from the non-adherent group (8 women and 21 men). Analysis of the interviews resulted in three main categories (level of knowledge, discomfort, and costs) and nine sub-categories. Conclusion: A high percentage of OSA patients had poor adherence to CPAP therapy. Device-related issues could be adequately resolved by providing complementary information during follow-up visits. Moreover, efforts to reduce costs through comprehensive insurance coverage or with government subsidy would improve patients’ adherence to CPAP therapy.

Exploring information or new knowledge from existing data sets is an important point of the data mining process, such as a collection of course value data that has been stored, but its potential has not been raised to find new benefits. While on the other hand there is the problem of how to find the concentration of studies that are in accordance with the competencies of the students themselves. This study was conducted to find the concentration selection pattern, based on some of the best value data from the courses that have been taken using the Apriori Algorithma, where the rules in this method will be used to find the pattern in question. Using a minimum support value of 70% produces rules with 5 item sets, namely courses in logic and algorithms, system analysis, system design, web programming and software engineering. The pattern / rule produced can be a guide for students in choosing concentration.

Introduction: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a highly prevalent sleep-disordered breathing (SDB). Case Report: Two 53- and 51-year-old male cases with daytime sleepiness and opium abuse and severe sleep apnea and long respiratory events duration (200 and 275 seconds respectively) noted in polysomnography were reported at Ebn-e-Sina and Razavi hospitals, in Mashhad, Iran. After positive airway pressure (PAP) therapy respiratory events resolved and patients’ daytime alertness improved. Conclusion: The long duration of sleep apnea could be the result of opium abuse. Therefore, drug history should be carefully considered in the evaluation of SDB patients. The PAP device was effective in the management of sleep respiratory events and the improvement of patient’s complications

As a form of implementing Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in educational institutions, an appropriate learning model is needed, which also accommodates aspects of spirituality. Before developing a model, baseline data is needed, so a broad-scale or national needs analysis is needed. This research aims to determine the profile of spirituality-based action competence for sustainability (ACS) among prospective biology teacher students throughout Indonesia. This research is a cross-sectional survey. The target respondents are students of LPTK biology education study programs in Indonesia. The target population size is 650 people, so based on the Krejcie and Morgan table, the minimum sample size with a confidence level of 95% and a margin of error of 5% is 620 students. The data collection instrument used in this research is the action competence for sustainability instrument based on spirituality (ACSIS). Data on respondent characteristics were analyzed using frequencies and percentages. The mean and standard deviation of scores were calculated for each item. Comparisons of two groups of students were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U Test, while comparisons of more than two groups used the Kruskal-Wallis H Test. We discuss interesting findings in this research, including the aspects of spirituality in ACS among prospective biology teacher in Indonesia.

Learning must be able to develop knowledge, skills, and mindsets so that the graduates produced have attitudes, abilities and knowledge that are integrated and skilled in life. One way to achieve learning can be done through habits of mind because the success of learning is strongly influenced by habits of mind. The purpose of this study is to as certain how habits of mind and cognitive learning outcomes in biology are affected by learning process oriented guided inquiry learning with blended learning support. A pretest-postest design wih a non-equivalent control group was employed in this study. The trial ran from February to June 2022. Utilizing the habits of mind questionnaire, pupils' thought patterns were assessed. Essay tests are also used to evaluate the results of cognitive learning. In this study, google form, LMS, and google meet were used for data collection. Statistical Product and Service Solutions software version 23 is used for data analysis and the results of covariance analysis (ANCOVA) showed a p value < 0,005, meaning that POGIL-supported blended learning can empower habits of mind and cognitive learning outcomes in biology learning. There is a substantial difference between the outcomes of the least significant difference and increasing habits of mind and cognitive learning outcomes. As a result, POGIL with moodle support can be used to enhance students' habits of mind and cognitive learning results in biology classes.

The rapid advancement of information technology has significantly facilitated modern human life. However, despite the swift progress in digital technology, there has been limited headway in leveraging technology to support mathematics education, particularly in the domain of problem-solving. Mobile learning (M-learning) platforms offer promising avenues to address this gap, providing accessible and interactive tools that can enhance problem-solving skills in mathematics through engaging activities, real-time feedback, and personalized learning experiences. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the implementation of a combination of M-learning and problem-based learning (M-PBL) teaching activities among mathematics teachers. The MPBL teaching activities were developed based on the M-learning model, Problem-Based Learning model, and Social Constructivism theory, resulting in 17 pertinent activities eligible for execution by mathematics teachers. The evaluation phase was conducted through interviews with three mathematics teachers. Data collection involved interview transcripts and document analysis, with subsequent content analysis based on the TUP Usability Evaluation Model's three facets: technology, usability, and pedagogy. Overall, the participating teachers expressed positive perspectives on the technological, usability, and pedagogical aspects of the M-PBL teaching activities. These activities provide teachers with a valuable resource to creatively teach problem-solving in mathematics using mobile technology, fostering the development of creative and innovative students aligned with the aspirations of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The perceptions of students who study environmental science related to pollution are certainly different because they are influenced by various circumstances. These circumstances, among others, depend on what they observe around them and their prior knowledge. This study aimed to determine the concept of pollution according to the cognitive structure of prospective biology teachers. The research was designed as a case study and the selected participants were 29 first-year biology education students who took environmental science courses. Data were collected by giving word association tests, open-ended questions, and drawings. The results showed that students' thinking process and prior knowledge influenced their ability to express ideas or answers. Cognitive perceptions of prospective biology teachers from the word association test brought up 30 words related to the pollution which were grouped into four categories, namely types of pollution, causes of pollution, consequences of pollution, and solutions to overcome pollution. Cognitive perceptions of prospective teachers based on open-ended questions, most of them wrote the definition of pollution as stated in the environmental management law, and cognitive perceptions of prospective teachers outlined in the form of drawing related to efforts to overcome pollution are throwing garbage in its place, doing reforestation, and go green action. Background: Early Childhood Education Institutions (ECEIs) require a model for the cultivation of religious values from an early age. Religion encompasses fundamental values that strongly instil belief in the existence of God and promote harmonious relationships among individuals. This study examines the role of ECEIs in fostering religious values in early childhood. Aim: This study aims to explore the cultivation of religious values in early childhood, which includes philosophy and models of the cultivation of religious values. Setting: This research was conducted in Palu, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia. Methods: Researchers chose five early childhood educational institutions with 30 participants, teachers, and managers of early childhood educational institutions. The analytical approach used is the "Discovering Cultural Themes" model. Results: The spirit of 'Ing Ngarso Sung Tulodo, Ing Madya Mangun Karso, and Tut Wuri Handayani' serves as the philosophy guiding teachers to act as role models, inspire enthusiasm, and recognise the potential of young children. This philosophy is broken down into four main themes: 'I Love the Earth', 'I Love Indonesia', 'Playing and Cooperating/We Are All Brothers', and 'My Imagination and Creativity'. The cultivation model includes introduction, habituation, and exemplary actions by parents and teachers. Conclusion: Philosophical values are cultivated through recognition, habituation, and example. The acculturation model starts from the identification of religious and cultural values followed by institutionalisation and encouragement by teachers and parents. Contribution: The role of early childhood educational institutions in the acculturation of religious values is a vital characteristic of schools managed by the government and foundations in Indonesia.

The implementation of instructional models in the classroom significantly impacts students' learning abilities and achievements. The adoption of a teacher-centered learning approach might lead to reduced student engagement in the learning process, consequently influencing their ability to acquire life skills. The current study aimed to determine the educational attainment, teaching experience, utilization of learning media and application of learning models by junior and senior high school biology teachers in Ternate, Indonesia. This study employed a qualitative research method that utilized survey questionnaires. The respondents were 25 biology teachers of junior high school and 30 biology teachers of senior high school. The research findings showed that (1) 84% of the junior high school biology teachers have the undergraduate education and 16% of them have the master education; 69.77% of those of the senior high school have the undergraduate education and 30.23% of them have the master education. (2) Both the junior and the senior high school biology teachers have over 15 years of teaching experience. (3) Among the junior high school biology teachers, the use of student worksheet is only 20%, and the use of learning media is 14%; Among the senior high school biology teachers, the use of student worksheet is 36.66% and the use of learning media is 23.33%. (4) The uses of conventional learning and the use of cooperative learnings among junior high school biology teachers are 83% and 17%, respectively; where as among those of senior high school are 73.34% and 26.66%, respectively. In conclusion, the educational qualifications of junior and senior high school biology teachers in Ternate have satisfied the necessary criteria for teaching. However, the teachers have not been able to enhance the quality of education in the city. This highlights the importance of developing innovative learning models to improve the learning abilities and achievements.

Theoretical framework is one of the main parts of the research paper, so that researchers are expected to be able to determine the relevant theory that underlies their research. The purpose of conducting this systematic literature review (SLR) is to review of theoretical framework, compare, and describe various theoretical research frameworks in an investigative manner on the theme of self efficacy in collaborative science learning that underlies publications in Scopus indexed journals in the last ten years. In this regard, we used the phrase "self-efficacy in collaborative science learning" on the disbursement menu in the Scopus database and found 711 articles. There were 63 articles that met the criteria for analysis. The inclusion and exclusion model used is PRISMA. The newly discovered aspects consist of community of practice, professional learning community, and reflection, which are as a result of the development of a theory of change and a theory of instruction constructed from theoretical frameworks in the recent collaborative science learning practices literature. Therefore, the development of this theory can be considered as a theoretical basis for developing the self-efficacy of prospective science teachers in collaborative learning in the future. Given the world's continuous environmental concerns, there is a need for increased participation in nature protection. The ecological crisis of the last decade on Earth has become one of the causes of the rupture of society's relationship with nature. Such relationships can predict diverse attitudes, concerns, intentions, and pro-environmental behavior (PEB). A systematic literature review (SLR) aims to compare, study, and analyze journal articles that relate to issues related to nature as a major factor in pro-environmental behavior. The results of selecting articles indexed by SCOPUS found as many as 1716 publications. The 50 open-access publications of articles were chosen based on specific criteria and further examined to identify eight final articles that align with the Inclusion of Nature in Self (INS) scale. Pro-environmental behavior strengthens human relationships with nature and encourages a sense of ownership and involvement with the environment. Pro-environmental behavior refers to behaviors that are beneficial to the environment, such as supporting conservation policies, recycling, and participating in nature. Research using INS scale, which focuses on connections with nature, still has significant potential and should persist in making contributions to science and humanity.

Plant metabolite compounds have been applied on plant cellular metabolism, produces organic and inorganic compounds, primary and secondary bioactive molecules, such as glucose, amino acids, fat acids, alkaloids, flavonoids, and terpenoids. Undergraduate biology students learn about the plant terpenoid assisted by bioinformatics to store, manage, and interpret the molecular information about these compounds. This research aims to observe the students' understanding of terpenoid through implementing bioinformatics approach. Besides, to investigate how practice the bioinformatics technology in learning terpenoid may impact students' comprehension of plant metabolism domain and their acquisition of bioinformatics inquiry skills. Bioinformatics is a computational database that relies on digital repositories of molecular biology informations. Data analysis was in the form of quantitative and qualitative descriptive using module learning resources based on terpenoid research and assisted by bioinformatics. The results indicate that students' comprehension of learning and understanding terpenoid has improved, identification and analysis processes of article reviews showed that students were able to discuss and interpret research finding in silico bioinformatics using molecular docking procedures. Assessment of bioinformatics skills showed that all undergraduate biology students could follow the direct instructions well, answer the questions, practice the dry-lab experimental, and formulate the conclusion correctly.

This study investigated the degree of practicing soft skills by science teachers using the descriptive approach. To achieve the study's objective, an observation card was developed. It was used to monitor three lessons for each subject (n=60) science teachers, who were distributed into six groups according to work experience and educational qualification, in the Directorate of Education of Bani Kinanah District in Irbid Governorate. The results showed that science teachers practice soft skills such as communication, problem-solving, negotiation, planning and time management, teamwork, leadership, and critical thinking to a high degree, with an explained variance (9.13%), on all dimensions of the observation card. However, the results also indicated statistically significant differences ([alpha] = 0.05) between the arithmetic means of the teaching practices of soft skills among science teachers resulting from the different levels of educational qualification and teaching experience. Thus, teachers with educational qualifications typically practice soft skills to a greater extent with an average level of (14.48%) than their peers without educational degrees. Teachers with advanced experience are more likely to exercise soft skills with an average level of (11.73%) than their counterparts with medium and simple experience. Therefore, the study recommended including soft skills practice as a university course, endorsing it in universities, and continuous training for science teachers on teaching practices for soft skills through training courses and workshops.

Purpose--This study aims to explore the missing learning phenomenon due to school closures during the COVID-19 pandemic in preschool settings from teachers' perspectives in Selangor, Malaysia. Related studies have shown that missing learning phenomena from different settings leads to delayed literacy development and raises the risk of dropping out among children. There is a lack of in-depth documentation on the missing learning phenomenon among preschoolers exploring the socioecology of preschool settings in a local context. Methodology--This research employed a case study approach. In-depth interviews were conducted with six preschool teachers from Selangor, Malaysia, using an inductive approach for a holistic understanding of the missing learning phenomenon during the COVID-19 pandemic. The data were analyzed using Computer Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis Software (CAQDAS), NVivo version 12 software, which mapped the findings to understand further the ecosystem behind the preschoolers' absence of learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Findings--Three major themes were revealed from the data: the missing learning demographic, socioecological factors, and mitigation plans. Several sub-themes (the compensative learning solutions, the demographic of impacted people, the delayed progress, teachers' readiness to facilitate online learning, engagement towards online learning, revised syllabus, personalized learning, and parental involvement) are classified under the respective major themes. Several main categories also emerged from the themes: lack of experiences and technology-pedagogical knowledge, unavailable online modules, low readiness to utilize online learning, unsupportive family climate, and accessibility. Learning intervention and online engagement with pupils during the pandemic are crucial in ensuring a successful continuous education. Significance--There is also a need for comprehensive remote instructional modules that consider socioecological actors -- parents and home climate; in the future and the enhanced instructional technology competency among preschool teachers.

The purpose of this study was to examine gender and discipline-based Differential Item Functioning (DIF) and Differential Distractor Functioning (DDF) on the Islamic Azad University English Proficiency Test (IAUEPT). The study evaluated DIF and DDF across genders and disciplines using the Rasch model. To conduct DIF and DDF analysis, the examinees were divided into two groups: Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) and Non-Humanities and Social Sciences (N-HSS). The results of the DIF analysis showed that four out of 100 items had DIF across gender, and two items had discipline DIF. Additionally, gender DDF analysis identified one item each for Options A, B, and C, and four items for Option D. Similarly, the discipline DDF analysis revealed one item for Option A, three items for Option B, four items for Option C, and three items for Option D. The findings of this study have significant implications for test developers. The identification of potential biases in high-stakes proficiency tests can help ensure fairness and equity for all examinees. Furthermore, identifying gender DIF can shed light on potential gender-based gaps in the curriculum, highlighting areas where male or female learners may be disadvantaged or underrepresented in terms of knowledge or skills.

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between Iranian EFL learners' interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligence and their speaking ability. To achieve this aim, 30 Iranian EFL learners whose level of proficiency was intermediate participated in this study. The participants' general English knowledge was measured via Oxford Quick Placement Test (OQPT). The placement test revealed that all participants were intermediate learners and homogenous. The other instruments of the study were the Multiple Intelligences Inventory and the speaking test. After evaluating the participants' general English knowledge, the speaking test was given to them. After collecting the speaking tests' results, the questionnaire was distributed among the participants, and they were requested to answer all the items in it carefully and honestly. The Pearson correlation coefficient test was used to show the relationship between the participants' interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligence and speaking skill. The findings revealed positive and significant relationships between the participants' interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligence and their speaking. The findings of the study would be useful for teaching and learning speaking skill and researchers in the fields of TEFL and sociolinguistics.

Augmented Reality (AR) can positively impact learning and provide authentic experiences in the form of simulations by increasing enthusiasm for learning and activities in the classroom. This research aims to develop the design and effectiveness of the Augmented Reality Greenhouse Effect (ARGE) Integration Model Physics Independent Learning (MPIL) and explore the results of the product and their application in physics learning. The ARGE application will be implemented in universities located in the central part of Indonesia ARGE presents a simulation of learning tools to train lecturers and students with the implementation of AR technology, which aims to transfer real learning experiences to understand the concept of the Greenhouse Effect. The research method chosen in the ADDIE method was carried out on 127 students and integrated with MPIL. The number of these students participated in research, where they were divided into three student groups: (i) Semester 3 (N= 42), (ii) Semester 5 (N= 42), and (iii) Semester 7 (N= 43). After 12 weeks of lectures, most students stated a significant positive confirmation of ARGE implantation. These results revealed that the application of ARGE MPIL based on testing the effects of the product by students had excellent practicality in teaching in relevance with a percentage of 92.38%. Then the self-confidence aspect obtained a percentage of 94.29%, and the satisfaction aspect received a percentage of 97.14%. The ARGE design is integrated with MPIL developed to properly simulate the Greenhouse Effect concept. ARGE is effectively categorized as an excellent medium for learning the Greenhouse Effect concept.

The objective of this study is to investigate the principals' leadership skills in elementary schools to meet the national educational strategy outcomes based on the teachers' views. A quantitative- descriptive approach was applied. The questionnaire was used to collect data. The validity of the questionnaire was measured and the reliability results using Cronbach alpha were 0.948 for educational leadership skills and 0.859 for educational outcomes. The questionnaire was distributed in both male and female schools. A random sample of 385 teachers was included. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and structural equation modeling to measure the effects of different variables. The findings indicated that the teachers in the sample had five to fifteen years of experience. The teachers showed principals in the elementary schools have moderate educational leadership (3.39). The results showed that the highest trait that existed among the principals was crisis management with a high-weight regression coefficient (0.693), visionary leadership (0.653) and ethical leadership (0.601). The effect of adaptability, communication skills and strategic planning was less. The least common traits among the principals of elementary schools were emotional intelligence and decision-making skills. The research suggested establishing a programme for elementary school principals to develop their leadership skills in order to support the achievement of national educational objectives.

Dens invagination (DI) is a dental anomaly that can cause pulpal and periapical pathoses of the affected tooth. We describe the treatment of a healthy 18-year-old female with a chief complaint of recurrent facial swelling pertaining to a peg-shaped maxillary lateral incisor with DI. Examinations showed necrosis of the involved tooth with symptomatic apical periodontitis. Cone-beam computed tomography corresponded to Oehlers type II DI. Orthograde endodontic treatment was performed. To completely debride the canal and resolve the persistent purulent discharge, various methods and medicaments were used in separate sessions including passive ultrasonic activation of 5.25% sodium hypochlorite solution, calcium hydroxide mixed with 2% chlorhexidine, and double antibiotic paste as intracanal medicament. After resolution of the symptoms, the root canal and the invaginated space were filled by a mineral trioxide aggregate plug and backfilled with thermoplasticized gutta-percha. At the one-year follow-up, complete bone healing was noted in the affected periradicular area.

Background: Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE) occurs when an infant's brain does not receive adequate blood and oxygen supply, resulting in ischemic and hypoxic brain damage during delivery. Currently, supportive care and hypothermia have been the standard treatment for HIE. However, there are still a 20% mortality and most of the survivors are associated with significant neurodevelopmental disability. HIE animal model was first established by Vannucci et al., in 1981, and has been used extensively to explore the mechanisms of brain damage and its potential treatment. The Vannucci model involves the unilateral common carotid artery occlusion followed by 90 min hypoxia (8% oxygen). The purpose of this study is to define and validate a modified HIE model which mimics closely that of the human neonatal HIE. Method: The classic Vannucci HIE model occludes one common carotid artery followed by 90 min hypoxia. In the new model, common carotid arteries were occluded bilaterally followed by breathing 8% oxygen in a hypoxic chamber for 90, 60 and 30 min, followed by the release of the common carotid artery ligatures, mimicking a reperfusion. Result: We studied 110 neonatal rats in detail, following the modified in comparison with the classical Vannucci models. The classical Vannucci model has a consistent surgical mortality of 18% and the new modified models have a 20%–46%. While mortality depended on the duration of hypoxia, fifty-two animals survived for behavioral assessments and standard histology. The modified HIE model with 60 min of transient carotid occlusion is associated with a moderate brain damage, and has a 30% surgical mortality. This modified experimental model is regarded closer to the human situation than the classical Vannucci model.

Introduction: In addition to having auditory effects, sound also has nonauditory effects. Acoustic Annoyance is one of the nonauditory effects of sounds which are construed as psychoacoustic characteristics. The study at hand was undertaken to investigate the psychoacoustic characteristics of absorbents used in common earmuffs. Materials and Methods: In this study, four earmuffs prevalent in industries were used. The psychoacoustic characteristics of loudness and sharpness were measured and analyzed in sound levels of 75, 85, and 95 dB using an impedance tube and Va-Lab 4 software with and without absorbers. The results were analyzed with SPSS-26 software. Results: Results showed that the highest and the lowest increase in loudness were attributed to the EM-101 and the EM-104, respectively. In addition, with the increase in the sound level, the loudness increased. Furthermore, in 85 dB, there was no significant relationship between loudness and earmuff absorber only in the case of the earmuff EM-103. Furthermore, the highest and the lowest increase in sharpness were, respectively, attributed to the EM-101 and the EM-103. Only in the samples of EM-103 and EM-104 earmuffs at the level of 75 dB, there was no significant relationship between sharpness and earmuff absorber. Conclusion: Earmuffs used in industries showed different performances against the loudness and sharpness of the sound. In other words, the quality and the structure of earmuff absorber play noteworthy roles in decreasing the qualitative parameters of sound.

Industrial revolution 4.0 has enabled the advent of new technological advancements, including the introduction of information technology with physical devices. The implementation of information technology in industrial applications has helped streamline industrial processes and make them more cost-efficient. This combination of information technology and physical devices gave birth to smart devices, which opened up a new research area known as the Internet of Things (IoT). This has enabled researchers to help reduce downtime and maintenance costs by applying condition monitoring on electrical machines utilizing machine learning algorithms. Although the industry is trying to move from scheduled maintenance towards predictive maintenance, there is a significant lack of algorithms related to fault prediction of electrical machines. There is quite a lot of research going on in this area, but it is still underdeveloped and needs a lot more work. This paper presents a signal spectrum-based machine learning approach toward the fault prediction of electrical machines. The proposed method is a new approach to the predictive maintenance of electrical machines. This paper presents the details regarding the algorithm and then validates the accuracy against data collected from working electrical machines for both cases. A comparison is also presented at the end of multiple machine learning algorithms used for training based on this approach.

School teachers are susceptible to mental health issues due to the challenging responsibilities the teaching profession entails. While several interventions have demonstrated effectiveness in improving teachers' social emotional competencies and mental health outcomes, little work has examined the potential of dialectical behavior therapy-skills training (DBT-ST) in improving teacher outcomes. This study aimed to assess the effects of a five-session, Malay-translated DBT-ST on psychological symptoms (anxiety, depression, stress, burnout), social-emotional competencies, DBT skills use, and dysfunctional coping in a sample of school teachers in East Malaysia. Fifty-three participants were recruited and assigned into DBT-ST or a control group, consisting of attending a mental health talk. Analyses showed that DBT-ST participants reported greater decreases in student-related burnout and dysfunctional coping, and greater increases in DBT skills use compared to the control group from pre- to post-intervention. There were no between-condition differences on changes in other mental health outcomes, though session attendance was linked positively to improvements in several outcomes in the DBT-ST condition. Analyses of post-intervention feedback indicated that brief DBT-ST was deemed acceptable and feasible among the research participants. In conclusion, DBT-ST holds promise as an intervention to lower student-related burnout and facilitate adaptive coping among school teachers.

Argumentative writing is a fundamental aspect of undergraduate students' academic and scientific writing related to critical thinking and problem-solving skills. However, previous studies have shown that students face various difficulties with argumentative writing, such as unclear and illogical ideas, less-structured arguments, and unbalanced interpretation of issues, data, and evidence. This study aims to improve the argumentative writing skills of undergraduate students by integrating computer-supported argumentative writing tools, such as annotation, conversational agents (CAs), and collaborative concept maps, into an online learning management system. Since the study was conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic, these tools can support meaningful learning activities and investigation in argumentative writing. The researchers divided sixty participants into the experimental group (N = 30) and the control group (N = 30). The results showed that the experimental group's writing achievements outperformed the control group, and the three tools effectively improved the five elements of argumentative writing, including claims, grounds, warrants, backings, and rebuttal. Furthermore, a deep analysis found that the number of annotations, valid CAs' responses, and argument nodes on collaborative concept maps can significantly predict students' argumentative writing development. Moreover, students perceived that the incorporated tools could effectively improve their argumentative writing skills.

Background: Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) in Indonesia is still high, 359 per 100,000 born alive. One of the government's efforts to reduce MMR is by providing Ante Natal Care (ANC) service, and holding pregnancy classes (KIH). KIH is a program to increase maternal knowledge and support the Making Pregnancy Safer (MPS) program policy, which is an Obstetric service approach, that every pregnant woman must be assisted by health workers. Objective: The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between ANC and KIH to the place and birth attendants. Methods: A cross-sectional study, National Health Indicator Survey (SIRKESNAS) 2016, Calculation of samples based on the 2010 Population Census (SP) data. Primary Sampling Unit (PSU) is a sub-district selected as Probability Proportional to Size (PPS), households that have children aged 0-59 months (Eligible households), samples were selected by Simple Random Sampling of Eligible households, as many as 7,313 mothers. Background: Undoubtedly, one of the most important objectives of any organization is to provide high quality and desirable goods and services that depend on the performance of human force of the organization. The performance of physicians and nurses is a very important factor in establishing and enhancing the effectiveness of services. Since nurses are the most fundamental medical staff of the hospital, the present study was performed with the aim of investigating the factors affecting the job performance of nurses working in selected teaching hospitals in Tehran in 2018. Methods: The target group of this study included nurses working in inpatient wards of hospitals, of whom 354 individuals were selected by simple random sampling method. The intraorganizational environment questionnaire (Weisbord), five personality traits (NEO personality inventory), and Paterson’s job performance questionnaire were the three data collection tools. The study was conducted in 2018 and the data were analyzed by SPSS20 software using descriptive statistics and artificial neural networks. Results: In the personality traits questionnaire, neuroticism (40.22 ± 6.66) dimension had the highest and responsibility (23.94 ± 4.91) dimension had the lowest mean scores. Also in the inter-organizational environment questionnaire, communication (14.66 ± 4.52) dimension and rewards (21.33 ± 6.54) dimension had the best and worst status, respectively. Comparison of significance coefficients in neural networks showed that dimensions of agreeability (100 %) and marital status (8 %) had the highest and lowest importance in nurses’ job performance. Conclusion: The results reveal that the dimensions of personality traits and job agreeability dimension have the most effect on the employees’ job performance. Hence, it is possible to improve staff performance by hiring people consistent with their work.

Introduction: Throughout the world, many efforts have been made to provide suitable tools for achieving sustainable urban development and the achievement of a sustainable city. Establishing a Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSE-MS) is one of the tools for achieving sustainable urban development. Measuring the performance of an organization in the HSE area is a precondition for continuous improvement, which is the spirit of the new HSE management systems. Therefore, the main purpose of this research was to provide a practical model for quantitative ranking of different areas of Tehran municipality in terms of HSE performance with using of multi-criteria decision-making method. Material and Methods: In this descriptive-applied study, after determining functional axis and performance evaluation indicators related to each of them (29 functional axis and 154 performance evaluation indicators), through designing a questionnaire and based on the views of the expert group, weight of functional axis and performance indicators were determined using a hierarchical process analysis technique. Results: In this study, the weighted value for functional axis of the process based HSE in comparison to the result based HSE were higher. “Commitment and Leadership” and “HSE Certificate of Occupations” for the process based HSE, “Safety” and “Health” for the result based HSE, and “Economic Sustainability” and “Architecture and Urbanism” for urban management had the higher and lowest weighted values. Conclusion: The results of assessment and validation of selected indicators and functional axis showed that in designing and determining the HSE performance assessment model of municipalities, in addition to the axises and indicators of the HSE domain, factors affecting urban management can have a significant impact on the performance of municipalities in the field of HSE.

Abstract: Background and aims: Performance assessment and also performance indicators have a great importance in all aspects of life. By these indicators appropriate responses to what is happening for make some improvement, could be determined. In the past, the safety and health performance of organizations was measured with using of some indicators from the USA Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) such as the rate of recorded injuries, the rate of lost days, the rate of workerschr('39') complaints, and so on. Determining of this information were done to compare the health and safety status of contractors and industries and ranking them. However, improvement or weakening the safety and health status is cleared by the OSHA indicators, but the ways were not determined by these indicators. The main objective of measuring safety and health performance is to provide the necessary information on the developments and current status of strategies, processes and activities that an organization is conducting to control health and safety risks. Safety performance indicators are divided into two main categories: the leading and the lagging indicators. The leading indicators are the organizationchr('39')s actions for predicting and preventing incidents and accidents before they occur, while the lagging indicators are shown the organizationchr('39')s performance after the occurrence of the accidents to reduce its consequences. Sustainable urban development is a high-profile goal, and its realization in metropolitan areas requires the use of efficient management practices and extensive planning. The extent and complexity of urban issues and the urban ever- increasing development have made urban management a difficult task. In addition to issues such as transportation, urban planning and management is one of the important factors that has a main influence on urban constructive factors. In organizations such as the municipality, and on a wider dimension in societies, various plans and policies such as environmental plans, safety plans, crisis management, educational policies, occupational health plans, as well as some international standards for sustainable urban development were used. The Integrated Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSE-MS), by providing the appropriate structure and model, manages all these policies and plans, and, in addition to creating a specific order in the implementation of these programs helps to centralize costs and improve the economic status of the organization and the achievement of sustainable urban development. Performance measurement is the main issue at all levels of the organization and its improvement needs to be measured, so an organization cannot be conceived without a performance evaluation system. Measuring the performance of an organization in the HSE field is a precondition for continuous improvement. Different organizations and industries need to design performance measurement indicators to assessment and monitor the performance of the HSE management system and determine the effectiveness of themselves performance. Determining the performance assessment indicators of HSE in addition to measuring of the management system performance can lead to systematic identification of improvement points and reduction of HSE related risk factors and ultimately lead to increased organizational productivity. The research shows that the applied, comprehensive and structured model has not yet been designed and implemented to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the HSE management system in different metropolitan areas. Although there are some retrospective and prospective HSE performance assessment indicators in municipalities but these indicators are purely result-oriented and the creation and institutionalization of processes related to the seven components of the health, safety and environmental management system cannot be measured by them. What matters here is to create an appropriate method with sufficient accuracy to determine the effectiveness of the system. This research, while introducing an innovative model for quantitative ranking of different municipality areas of metropolitans according to the HSE performance assessment with using of AHP technique, the final goal is the determine of key indicators of urban HSE performance assessment. Methods: This descriptive-applied study was conducted in four steps. Step 1: Selecting HSE Performance Measurement Indicators and Urban Management: In the first step, a variety of safety and health management systems (HSE-MS, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, etc.), a variety of existing national and international health and safety assessment methods, guidelines, and requirements for safety and health management systems for determining the performance measurement indicators were studied. At this step, through the field visits of the different areas of the municipality and observing work processes, interviewing and organizing various meetings with HSE managers and experts, and studying documentation, the HSE performance assessment indicators in the three areas including process-oriented, result-oriented and urban management were categorized. Step 2: Selecting the components of the performance monitoring system: The findings suggest that the use of a systematic approach in different domains, in addition to integrating activities, has improved efficiency and effectiveness and increased operational efficiency. Accordingly, many organizations have set up various health, safety and environmental management systems as the basis of themselves operations. The use of the main components of an integrated management system to identify weaknesses or strengths of system is one of the effective measures for measuring performance. At this step, after determining the assessment axes, the performance assessment components were identified for each of the performance monitoring axes. Step 3: Development of Urban HSE Performance Assessment Indicators: At this step, the indicators for assessing the performance of the urban HSE management system were determined based on the components of each of the performance monitoring axes. According to the main components, the HSE management system was included 18 components such as commitment and leadership, policy, resources, etc. Also in the urban management part 6 components including economic sustainability, social sustainability, architecture and urbanization, demographics, political, legal, and industrial was considered. Indicators related to the result performance were also developed based on the components of the HSE performance output monitoring system in the six areas including safety, health, environment, education, culture and HSE of citizenship. Step 4: Select Key Performance Indicators: To create an effective HSE-MS performance measurement method, it is necessary to reduce the number of LPIs to fewer or the most important KPIs. This means that among the existing indicators, the best and most important indicators are selected based on the considered criteria. At this step, key performance indicators were selected from the sum of the extracted indicators based on the elements of the HSE management system using the AHP method. All indicators were compared in pairs and each of them was prioritized as a number between 1-9, 1 as lowest priority and 9 as most preferred. Couple comparisons were conducted based on SMART criteria and expert’s opinion. In this study, the paired comparison of axes and performance indicators and determining the weight vector of the indicators was performed using Expert Choice11 software. Results: In addition to examining the HSE management systems deployed in the municipalities, as well as using previous studies, the axes and indicators for assessing the performance of the urban HSE management system were determined. Of the 30 components and 155 indicators of performance assessment, 18 components and 98 indicators were related to monitoring of management system of HSE based on the seven elements and sub elements of the Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSE-MS). Performance output and urban management axes with 40 and 17 indicators, respectively, have a smaller share of the total indicators developed. Between the process-oriented performance axes, the commitment and leadership axes (0.198) and the HSE records of occupations (0.016) have the highest and lowest weight, respectively. The safety components (0.247) and training (0.150) had the highest and lowest weight in the result-oriented performance axes respectively and economic sustainability (0.301) and architecture and urban planning (0.122) had the highest and lowest weight in among the urban management functional axes respectively. After weighting the indicators for measurement of performance, 70 indicators that had the highest weight than other indicators were selected as key performance indicators. Of the 70 indicators, 47, 16 and 7 indicators are related to the HSE process, the result and urban management respectively. Between the functional sub axes of the HSE process, accident management, inspection, and audit each with five key performance indicators, has the highest measurement index compared to other HSE process sub axes. In the functional axis of the HSE result, the sub axes of ecology with 4 key performance indicators and the sub-axes of safety and health, each with 3 indicators, had the highest number of indicators in this axis. In the urban management axis, sub axes including the socio-cultural and architecture and urbanism axes, each with two key performance indicators, had 4 indicators of total 70 selected key performance indicators. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that the determination of HSE performance indicators in addition to the components of the HSE management system should be done based on the type of macro management structure and other influential parameters of the organization. The study of the municipals management structure shows that the extracted indicators based on the components of the HSE management system alone cannot cover the urban HSE performance because of factors such as economic sustainability, socio-cultural, demographic, architectural, urban, and industrial-industrial can significantly affect the performance status of the HSE management system of city. Therefore, it is essential to design and codification of indicators as a tool for measuring the performance of management systems, all aspects of the management system in order to achieve the more accuracy and reliability be considered.

Under compassionate use, chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells have elicited durable remissions in patients with refractory idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIMs). Here, we report on the safety, efficacy, and correlative data of the first subject with the immune-mediated necrotizing myopathy (IMNM) subtype of IIM who received a fully human, 4-1BBz anti-CD19-CAR T cell therapy (CABA-201) in the RESET-Myositis phase I/II trial (NCT06154252). CABA-201 was well-tolerated following infusion. Notably, no evidence of cytokine release syndrome or immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome was observed. Creatine kinase levels decreased, and muscular strength improved post-infusion. Peripheral B cells were depleted rapidly following infusion, and the subject achieved peripheral B cell aplasia by day 15 post-infusion. Peripheral B cells returned at 2 months post-infusion and were almost entirely transitional. Autoantibodies to SRP-9, SRP-72, SRP-54, and Ro-52, decreased relative to baseline, whereas antibodies associated with pathogens and vaccinations remained stable. The infusion product consisted of predominantly CD4+ effector memory T cells and exhibited in vitro cytolytic activity. Post-infusion, CABA-201 expansion peaked at day 15 and was preceded by a serum IFN-γ peak on day 8 with peaks in serum IL-12p40 and IP-10 on day 15. These data detail the safety, efficacy, and pharmacodynamics of CABA-201 in the first IMNM subject.

C1q deficiency is a rare inborn error of immunity characterized by increased susceptibility to infections and autoimmune manifestations mimicking SLE, with an associated morbidity and mortality. Because C1q is synthesized by monocytes, to date, four patients treated with allogeneic HSCT have been reported, with a positive outcome in three. We conducted an international retrospective study to assess the outcome of HSCT in C1q deficiency. Eighteen patients, fourteen previously unreported, from eleven referral centres, were included. Two patients had two HSCTs, thus 20 HSCTs were performed in total, at a median age of 10 years (range 0.9-19). Indications for HSCT were autoimmune manifestations not controlled by ongoing treatment in seventeen, and early development of MALT lymphoma in one patient. Overall survival (OS) was 71% and event-free survival was 59% at two years (considering an event as acute GvHD ≥ grade III, disease recurrence and death). In eleven patients HSCT led to resolution of autoimmune features and discontinuation of immunosuppressive treatments (follow-up time range 3-84 months). Five patients died due to transplant-related complications. Patients with a severe autoimmune phenotype, defined as neurological and/or renal involvement, had the worst OS (40% vs 84%; p = 0.034). Reviewing data of 69 genetically confirmed C1q deficient patients, we found that anti-Ro antibodies are associated with neurologic involvement, and anti-RNP and anti-DNA antibodies with renal involvement. In conclusion, HSCT may be a valid curative option for C1q deficiency, but careful selection of patients, with an accurate assessment of risk and benefit, is mandatory.

Research on action-based timing has shed light on the temporal dynamics of sensorimotor coordination. This study investigates the neural mechanisms underlying action-based timing, particularly during finger-tapping tasks involving synchronized and syncopated patterns. Twelve healthy participants completed a continuation task, alternating between tapping in time with an auditory metronome (pacing) and continuing without it (continuation). Electroencephalography data were collected to explore how neural activity changes across these coordination modes and phases. We applied deep learning methods to classify single-trial electroencephalography data and predict behavioral timing conditions. Results showed significant classification accuracy for distinguishing between pacing and continuation phases, particularly during the presence of auditory cues, emphasizing the role of auditory input in motor timing. However, when auditory components were removed from the electroencephalography data, the differentiation between phases became inconclusive. Mean accuracy asynchrony, a measure of timing error, emerged as a superior predictor of performance variability compared to inter-response interval. These findings highlight the importance of auditory cues in modulating motor timing behaviors and present the challenges of isolating motor activation in the absence of auditory stimuli. Our study offers new insights into the neural dynamics of motor timing and demonstrates the utility of deep learning in analyzing single-trial electroencephalography data.

Polarization, misinformation, declining trust, and wavering support for democratic norms are pressing threats to the US Exposure to verified and balanced news may make citizens more resilient to these threats. This project examines how to enhance users exposure to and engagement with verified and ideologically balanced news in an ecologically valid setting. We rely on a 2-week long field experiment on 28,457 Twitter users. We created 28 bots utilizing GPT-2 that replied to users tweeting about sports, entertainment, or lifestyle with a contextual reply containing a URL to the topic-relevant section of a verified and ideologically balanced news organization and an encouragement to follow its Twitter account. To test differential effects by gender of the bots, the treated users were randomly assigned to receive responses by bots presented as female or male. We examine whether our intervention enhances the following of news media organizations, sharing and liking of news content (determined by our extensive list of news media outlets), tweeting about politics, and liking of political content (determined using our fine-tuned RoBERTa NLP transformer-based model). Although the treated users followed more news accounts and the users in the female bot treatment liked more news content than the control, these results were small in magnitude and confined to the already politically interested users, as indicated by their pretreatment tweeting about politics. In addition, the effects on liking and posting political content were uniformly null. These findings have implications for social media and news organizations and offer directions for pro-social computational interventions on platforms.
