Abstract

The article provides a post-hoc analysis in respect to the work of the regional vascular center (RVC) of the City Clinical Hospital named after M. P. Konchalovsky, which operates within the framework of the Regional program on specialized medical care in cases of acute coronary syndrome (ACS). The hospital has created a multidisciplinary team of doctors on the basis of RVC. The organizational measures helped to reduce the time interval from the moment of patients admission with ACS to the Hospital ER to the start of mechanical recanalization and stenting of the infarct-related artery. In addition it helped to increase operational activity and reduce the average bed-day of the patient's stay at hospital. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

The Russian Federation is one of many countries that have signed the Montreal Protocol and Pan-European Forest Process. These initiatives are aimed at harmonizing national forest inventory systems with criteria and indicators for sustainable forest management. In Russia, the classification of forest type is at the heart of national forest inventory systems. For various historical reasons, Russian scientific advancements in the field of forest typology remain little known in the rest of the world. This paper is aimed at addressing this deficiency. Here, we provide an overview of the main trends in the field of forest typology studies in the previous political states of the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union, and the Russian Federation from the end of the nineteenth century to the beginning of the twenty-first century. We detail the principles that formed the basis of the most significant forest type classifications. We also perform similarity and differences analyses comparing approaches used by members of different scientific schools in the field of forest typology. The historical relationship between ecological, phytocoenotic, genetic, and dynamic forest type classifications are discussed as well as the reasons for the prevalence of certain forest type classifications in different regions of Russia. © 2017, Canadian Science Publishing. 167. Interstitial pulmonary fibrosis: The role of angiogenic factors, the inhibitory pathways of progression

Abstract

AIM. To assess the role of angiogenic factors (vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and endothelin-1 (ET-1) in interstitial lung diseases (ILD), such as fibrosing alveolitis, sarcoidosis. MATERIALS AND METHODS. The blood levels of endothelial dysfunction and neoangiogenesis markers (ET-1 and VEGF) were investigated in 96 patients with different clinical forms of ILD at it different stages; the found changes were compared with the clinical and morphological manifestations of the disease. RESULTS. It has been ascertained that regardless of the clinical type of ILD, there is a correlation between the blood levels of VEGF and ET-1 and the intensity of lung neoangiogenesis, the expression of VEGF by the endothelium of newly formed blood vessels, the production of angiogenic factors, the degree of endothelial dysfunction, the extent of pulmonary fibrosis, the degree of pulmonary vascular remodeling, and the severity of pulmonary hypertension. The findings suggest that the markers of neoangiogenesis play an important role in the mechanisms of ILD progression. CONCLUSION. The study of these parameters in the blood may be used to clarify the activity and prognosis of ILD.
