The article reports that Preparation, Engagement and Perpetuation (P.E.P.) are three training tips for volunteers related to management of recreational programs. The author says that many recreation departments are finding it necessary to establish a structured volunteer management program that assists in the promotion, recruitment, training, supervision and recognition of volunteers in an organized and efficient manner. The author describes P.E.P. as a volunteer management tool used by many volunteer managers in their respective field. It emphasizes on designing attractive marketing brochures, utilizing print media, Web site, television and radio coverage for the success of program.
