Abstract

In recent years, companies have been striving for increased visibility and transparency of activities performed in supply chains. Supply chain tracking systems can provide visibility, traceability, and associated information across different stages of a supply chain, which enables competitive advantages. The efficiency and effectiveness of a tracking system are mainly supported by identification, communication, and information technologies in the supply chain. A better understanding of the various tracking technologies is important due to the fact that there is no single technology that completely covers the entire spectrum of needs and operations in the supply chain. However, there are various relevant technologies available in the market for information registration, capturing, and exchange; and in addition, some technologies have different standards to fit into specific industry sector and operation environments. These technologies complement each other in many ways; for example, some are suitable for outer environments while others work seamlessly inside facilities; and some identify objects while others capture information. It is the intent of this article to understand the main characteristics of different technologies, which play a key role in implementing the tracking system in an effective way. We introduce concepts of tracking system architecture and review most relevant identification, communication, and information technologies. Ultimately, we want to provide an overview of tracking technologies in order to assist decision makers in the processes of evaluation and selection of adequate technology for a design of a tracking system. 199. Effects of Low Temperature Stress on Seedling Growth of Plateau Japonica Rice.

Abstract

[Objective] The study aimed to screen rational seedling raising date and seedling raising mode for plateau japonica rice, in order to reduce the effect of low temperature on seedlings. [Method] The seedlings of conventional japonica rice Hexi 22-2 and giant embryo No. 1 japonica rice were treated at day temperature 12°C/ night temperature 8°C and day temperature 14 °C/ night temperature 10 °C , and the indicators including chlorophyll content, soluble sugar content, soluble protein content, survival rate, plant height, number of ≥ 1 cm roots, leaf wilting degree and aboveground dry matter weight were determined after treated for 0, 3 and 6 d, respectively. [Result] Chlorophyll content of seedlings decreased when treated by low temperature for a certain period; with the prolongation of treatment time, contents of soluble sugar and soluble protein in some low temperature treatments increased, while plant height, number of ≥ 1 cm roots and aboveground dry matter weight increased slowly, but the growth rate was significandy lower than that at room temperature; with the decrease of temperature and the prolongation of treatment time, leaf wilting degree increased. The comprehensive experimental results showed that with the increasing duration of low temperature, when two japonica rice varieties grew under the same low temperature, seedlings grew more and more slowly, probably because the lower the treatment temperature, the greater the damage on plants. Giant Embryo No. 1 had weaker cold tolerance than Hexi 22-2. [Conclusion] The study provides a theoretical basis for formulation of seedling raising technique of plateau japonica rice. 200. Association between transforming growth factor β1 and atrial fibrillation in essential hypertensive patients.

Abstract

Background: Transforming growth factor β1 (TGFβ1) was one of the main factors for accelerating atrial fibrosis and has been reported with significantly higher level in plasma of the patients with essential hypertension (EH), especially in those with target organ damage. The contribution of TGFβ1 in the pathogenesis of atrial fibrillation (AF) in EH patients remains unknown. Methods: 75 EH patients with documented AF were divided into the paroxysmal AF group (EH+pAF, n = 44) or the chronic AF group (EH+cAF, n = 31), and 37 EH patients with sinus rhythm (SR) were assigned into the EH+SR group. All data including EH duration, blood pressure, lipids, glucose and left atrial diameter (LAD) measured by ultrasonic cardiogram were recorded. The serum levels of TGFβ1 and connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) were detected, and compared with normal controls (NC group, n = 36). Results: The serum levels of TGFβ1 and CTGF in all EH groups were significantly higher than those in the NC group ( p < 0 .001, respectively). Among the EH groups, TGFβ1 and CTGF levels were highest in the cAF group, followed by the pAF and the SR groups ( p < 0.005). However, no significant difference was observed in TGFβ1 and CTGF levels between the cAF group and the pAF group. The serum TGFβ1 in AF patients was independently correlated with LAD, the presence of AF, aldosterone, CTGF and age. Conclusion: The serum TGFβ1 promotes CTGF synthesis and causes left atrial enlargement and remodeling, which is possibly involved in the pathogenesis of AF in EH patients. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
