Bu tezde beyaz kumaşların yıkama sırasında beyazlatılması/parlatılması amacıyla deterjan formülasyonlarına eklenen çeşitli bileşenlerin, yıkanmış tekstil yüzeylerini beyazlatma/parlatma etkisi incelenmiştir. Bu amaçla piyasada en çok kullanılan, farklı tekstil liflerinden (pamuk, pamuk-poliester, poliester, poliamid) oluşan yıkama yükü ve özel olarak hazırlanan deterjan formülleri ile tekrarlı yıkama işlemleri yapılmıştır. Yıkama işlemi sırasında tekstil materyalini beyazlatma/parlatma amacıyla, deterjan bileşimi içerisine ağartma sistemi, floresan beyazlatıcı maddeler ve nüanslama boyaları eklenmektedir. Deterjan formülasyonunda, farklı oranlarda nüanslama boyaları ve floresan beyazlatıcı maddeler kullanılarak, beyazlıktan ödün vermeden formülasyonda bulunan ağartıcı sistemin azaltılması veya tamamen kaldırılması için optimum koşullar elde edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Yıkanmış kumaşların beyazlık derecesi (WI CIE), ASTM E313'e göre, en büyük kuvvet altında boyca uzama tayini TS EN ISO 13934-1'e göre, patlama mukavemeti TS 393 EN ISO 13938-1 standardına göre ölçülmüştür. BS EN ISO 105-B02 standardına göre ışık haslığı testi yapılmıştır. Tekrarlı yıkamalar sonrası etkiler, SEM, XPS ve FTIR ile değerlendirilmiştir. Yapılan çalışma sonucunda, beyazlatma/parlatma performansından ödün vermeden, ekonomik deterjan formülünde ağartıcı sistem tamamen deterjan formülünden çıkarılmış, premium deterjan formülünde ise ağartıcı sistem %10' a düşürülmüştür., In this thesis, the effect of whitening / brightening over the washed textile surfaces of various components added to the detergent formulations for bleaching / brightening the white fabrics during washing has been investigated. For this purpose, the washing load which consist of the most widely used textile materials (cotton, cotton-polyester, polyester, polyamide fabrics) were washed repeated wash processes with specially prepared detergent formulas. Bleaching system, fluorescent whitening agents and shading dyes are added in the detergent composition for bleaching / brightening the textile material during the washing process, By using shading dyes and fluorescent whitening agents at different ratios in detergent formulations have been made to obtain optimum conditions for reducing or eliminating the bleach system present in the formulation without compromising whiteness. The whiteness degree of washed fabrics (WI CIE) is measured according to ASTM E313 standard, the maximum elongation under maximum force is measured according to TS EN ISO 13934-1 standard. Bursting strength is measured according to TS 393 EN ISO 13938-1: 2002 (Part 1). Light fastness test according to BS EN ISO 105 - B02: 2014 standard. Post-multiple wash effects were evaluated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). As a result of the work, the bleach system was completely removed from the economic detergent formula and the bleach system was reduced to 10% in the premium detergent formulation, without compromising whitening / brightening performance.

This work is focused on the design and development of hybrid solid-state energy storage devices with high capacitive performance. In particular, the work includes, the preparation of carbon composite electrodes based on a carbon nanofibers (CNF) supported on a cotton fabric. The coating of CNF to the cotton cloth is obtained by the dip and dry method. On these so-obtained composite substrates, further layers of activated carbon (Norit A Supra Eur) and manganese oxide (MnO2) material have been subsequenlty deposited to enhance the electrochemical performances of negative and positive electrodes, respectively. The preparation of carbon-based active layers comprises the spreading on the negative CNF-substrate of a slurry containing the activated carbon (AC) material, graphite fibres and polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) in N,N dimethylacetamide (DMA). Whereas the positive electrode is prepared by spreading a slurry of MnO2, carbon black, graphite fibers, PVDF in DMA. A 1M Na2SO4 solution impregnated in the porous paper separator (Nippon Kodoshi Corportion, Japan) and a polymer electrolyte membrane (Nafion 115) have been employed as electrolytes. The different supercapacitors were electrochemically characterized by cyclic voltammetry (CV), galvanostatic charge/discharge (G-CD), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and long-term cycling stability tests. The hybrid carbon-based textile supercapacitors exhibited capacitance performance of 137 and 120 F/g with the porous separator and Nafion 115 membrane, respectively. Specially, the solid-state (Nafion membrane) hybrid device demonstrated very long stability in cycling (10000 cycles) and voltage holding conditions at 1.6 V (more than 100 h). Besides, these textile-based capacitors also showed slow self-discharge. Tekstil sektörü Türkiye'nin hemen her yerine yayılmış olması ve istihdama katkısı bakımından ülkemizin en önemli iş kollarının başında gelmektedir. Bu faydalarının yanında sektörde meydana gelen iş kazası ve meslek hastalığı verileri, bu sektörü çok riskli sektörlerin içine dahil etmektedir. Bu tez çalışmasında genel hatlarıyla iş güvenliği kavramlarından bahsedilmiş sonrasında ise tekstil sektörünün Türkiye deki gelişimi ve aşamaları anlatılmıştır.Tekstil sektörü; gerek üretimde kullanılan yöntemler ve buna bağlı ürün çeşitliliğinin çokluğu, gerekse üründe istenen farklı özellikler nedeniyle kullanılan girdiler açısından kimyasal çeşitliliğinin en fazla bulunduğu sektördür. Bu yüzden çalışmanın sonraki kısmında tekstil sektöründeki kimyasal riskler üzerinde durulmuştur.Tez çalışması kapsamında bir kot fabrikasındaki tüm üretim aşamaları incelenmiş ve bu fabrikadaki kimyasal tehlikeler her bölüm için ayrıntılı olarak yapılan risk analizi ile değerlendirilmiş ve alınabilecek önlemlerden bahsedilmiştir.Tekstil sektöründe teknolojinin gelişimine bağlı olarak üretimde ve buna bağlı olarak ta üründe istenen özelliklerin her geçen gün artması sonucunda kullanılacak kimyasal çeşitliliğinde de artışlar meydana gelmiştir. Bu nedenle sektörde ürün talebine bağlı olarak kullanılacak kimyasal maddeler gruplanarak incelenmiş, bu maddelerin meydana getirebileceği olası tehlikelere detaylı olarak yer verilmiştir.Çalışmanın sonuç kısmında ise son 5 yılda Türkiye de meydana gelen kaza ve meslek hastalıkları; iş yeri ve çalışan sayıları da dikkate alınarak incelenmiş, bu veriler Türkiye de yapılan denetimler ve bu denetimlerde ulaşılan işçi sayısı ile kıyaslanmıştır. Yapılan bu kıyaslama sonucu elde edilen bulgularda; denetimlerde ulaşılan işyeri ve çalışan sayısı oranının yükseltilmesinin faydalı olabileceği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Textile sector is one of the most important industrial branches of our country; both due to the employment opportunities it provides and its prevalence. Besides the benefits it provides, the data about the occupational illnesses it causes and industrial accidents puts it on the top of the list of most risky sectors. In this thesis, job security concepts has been mentioned in a general manner and the progress of it as a sector of our economy and its phases have been analzyed.Textile sector is the sector with the highest variety of chemical compounds. The reason behind this is the high variety of methods that are being used, high variety of terminal products and high variety of additional properties of the products that is being desired. Because of that, chemical risk have been analyzed in following parts of the thesis.All phases of the production cycle of a textile factory and the chemical dangers for every division have been analyzed with detailed risk analysis, evaluated and possible precautions have been argued under the thesis study.Furthermore, an increase came to existence in number of different chemical compounds to be used in textile industry have been seen as a result of the rise in desired variety of properties in everyday products. Therefore groups of chemical compounds that must be used based on product demand of the sector have been analyzed and the hazards that they cause have been included.At the result section of the study, industrial accidents and occupational illnesses that occured in our country in past 5 years have been analyzed taking number of employees and number of workplaces into account and the data acquired has been compared to number of hazard controls and the number of employees reached via these controls. As a result of these comparisons; we came to a conclusion that both the number of employees and workplaces that have been reached with hazard control specialists must be increased. Another conclusion that we came to is that the medical records about occupational illnesses being insufficient and disinformative mainly due to lack of diagnosis and report that must be made by the authorities. 102

Toplumların sanayileşmesi ile birlikte mühendislik, meslek tercihleri yapılırken en çok tercih edilen alanlardan biri haline gelmiştir. Günümüzde teknolojinin çok hızlı bir biçimde ilerlemesi, teknolojinin uygulayıcıları olarak mühendislere ve mühendislik mesleğine duyulan ilgiyi daha da artırmaktadır. Ülkemiz, tekstil sanayi konusunda dünyada önde gelen ülkelerden biridir. Bu doğrultuda her yıl üniversitelerimizden yüzlerce tekstil mühendisi mezun olmaktadır. Tekstil mühendisi; tekstil ve konfeksiyon sanayinin kullandığı tekstil hammaddelerinin işlenmesi aşamalarında, teknik ve idari olarak gerekli düzenlemeleri yapan, yeni yöntem ve tekniklerin geliştirilmesi için çalışmalar yürüten, yeni ürünlerin tasarımını ve üretimini planlayan, üretimin ekonomik bir şekilde yürütülmesini sağlayan kişidir. Tekstil mühendisleri özel sektörde, devlette veya akademik camiada çalışmak üzere iş hayatına atılmaktadırlar. Ancak bir çok tekstil mühendisi kendi mesleğini yapmak istememektedir. Bunun birçok nedeni bulunmaktadır. Çalışmamızda bu nedenlerden yola çıkarak tekstil mühendislerinin çalışma koşulları ve iş imkanları üzerinde bir araştırma yapılmıştır. Engineering with the industrialization of society, while occupational choices has become one of the most preferred areas. Today, very quickly advancement of technology, technology practitioners is increasing as more of interest to engineers and engineering professions. Our country in world is one of the leading countries in the textile industry. In this direction, our universities are graduated hundreds of textile engineers every year. Textile engineers; textile and processing stages of garment textiles used in industrial raw materials, making technical and necessary adjustments in administration, conducting studies for the development of new methods and techniques, planning the design and production of new products is one which allows an economical manner in the production. Textile engineers are into business to work in government and private sector, or academia. However, many textile engineer wants to not make his own profession. There are many reasons for it. In our study, a survey was conducted on working conditions and employment opportunities in this direction, starting from a textile engineer. 84

In this study, titanium dioxide (TiO2) was used as coating compound to add self-cleaning and antibacterial functionality properties to the cotton fabric. TiO2-consisting coating compounds were prepared at four different processing temperatures (20, 40, 60, and 80A degrees C) in order to examine the influence of process temperature on average particle size. Among the prepared solutions, the one prepared at 80A degrees C process temperature was selected for the dip coating application of the 100% cotton fabric, which formed a transparent nanosized TiO2 film on the fibrous structure of fabric. Dip coating trials were done at five coating temperatures of 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100A degrees C. TiO2-coated and uncoated fabric samples were then tested to evaluate their self-cleaning and antibacterial activities. A self-cleaning activity test was conducted using uncoated and TiO2-coated fabric samples which were stained with hot tea solution via dipping method. Stained fabric samples were illuminated under a solar simulator for the color changes to measure photocatalytic degradation of stain colors. Antibacterial performance of TiO2-coated and uncoated fabric samples was determined against pure cultures of Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 and Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 29213.
