As feminist faculty we assess our use of testimonios by employing testimonio to share our experiences and Chicana feminist pedagogy praxis, which challenge the structure of the traditional canon and offer alternative classroom practices. As Chicana feminist faculty we appraise the use of testimonios as feminist pedagogy to contest the structure of the conventional canon and fashion and provide alternative classroom practices. We explore how we view our courses as a medium through which students’ lives can be transformed, inspiring them to become active thinkers and active citizens, to participate in the life of the university, and most important, to become agents for social change. As faculty from different disciplines and generations, we examine the use of testimonio in our Chicana/o studies classes by centering the voices and stories of girls, women, and immigrants in a variety of fields, in particular psychology and public health. The stories shared challenge their invisibility, invalidation, and marginalization in academia and in an array of fields. Digital health interventions – interventions delivered over digital media to support the health of users – are becoming increasingly prevalent. Utilising an intervention development framework can increase the efficacy of digital interventions for health-related behaviours. This critical review aims to outline and review novel behaviour change frameworks that guide digital health intervention development. Our comprehensive search for preprints and publications used PubMed, PsycINFO, Scopus, Web of Science and the Open Science Framework repository. Articles were included if they: (1) were peer-reviewed; (2) proposed a behaviour change framework to guide digital health intervention development; (3) were written in English; (4) were published between 1/1/19 and 1/8/2021; and (5) were applicable to chronic diseases. Intervention development frameworks considered the user, intervention elements and theoretical foundations. However, the timing and policy of interventions are not consistently addressed across frameworks. First Nations and Eurocentric approaches in the field of psychology and mental health are rooted in different worldviews which creates incongruencies as to what may be deemed as effective standards of practice. This autoethnography describes the experience of a school psychology intern navigating through practice particularly as it pertains to the principle of dual relationships. With a first-person perspective the journey of exploration into this matter brings together the research found in academia and the guidelines formally set as well as the beliefs and values of local community members which were brought forth through a series of interviews and conversations. There are three main themes which arose that are highlighted and they are the embodiment of a spiritual orientation, substantiation of trust and integrity, and obligation to community. These themes explicate the differences in and implications for practice when working with First Nations people, particularly in remote spiritually connected communities. The practice of psychology in and with First Nation people needs to be rooted in their beliefs, values, and customs to be effective, to reflect the experience of Indigenous ways of helping, and to decolonize approaches in the field of psychology. This paper explains Viktor von Weizsäcker's Gestaltkreis model as a reinterpretation of Jakob von Uexküll's Funktionskreis. Also derived from the Funktionskreis is Thure von Uexküll's Situationskreis model. Both Weizsäcker's Gestaltkreis and Thure von Uexküll's Situationskreis have evolved in the context of integrated medicine in Germany throughout the twentieth century. Focusing on the role of language in health and medicine, this paper addresses important concepts associated with the project of integrated medicine in Germany, especially the biographical approach practiced by Viktor von Weizsäcker and developed by Thure von Uexküll through the concept of the biographical organ. While their efforts to reform the practice of medicine and the training of physicians were unsuccessful, recent research in the psychology of language and health and recommendations for more patient-centered communication resonate with the principles underlying Viktor von Weizsäcker's and Thure von Uexküll's integrated medicine. Despite the important role of problem-solving in organizations, our understanding of the fundamental nature of problems is limited. To generate insights and discussion on this topic, we introduce the metaphor of a “virus-like” problem, which is a special kind of problem that often escapes the awareness of organizational leaders. Virus-like problems differ from other problems in organizations because, just like actual viruses, they are hidden, their source is difficult to identify, and they can quickly spread to others. Integrating the public health and organizational psychology fields, we draw lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic and how it was (mis) managed by public officials to offer a new perspective on problems in organizations and offer practical ideas for how leaders can address virus-like problems of their own. Public toilets are a critical public health issue with a significant negative impact on people's lives. Unfortunately, the effect of negative experiences caused by public toilets on people's quality of life and life satisfaction is unknown. In this study, participants (n = 550) were asked to fill in a scale‐based survey about their negative experiences with public toilets, quality of life, and life satisfaction. We found that people with toilet‐dependent illnesses (36% of the sample) reported more negative experiences with public toilets than their counterparts. These negative experiences are also related to lower scores in some areas of participants' quality of life, such as their environmental, psychological, and physical health and life satisfaction, even after controlling for relevant socio‐economic variables. Additionally, toilet‐dependent individuals had particularly negative experiences in terms of life satisfaction and physical health than non‐toilet‐dependent people. We conclude that the impoverishment of quality of life linked to public toilets as an environmental inadequacy is traceable, estimable, and meaningful. This association is not only negative for ordinary people, but it is significantly negative for people with toilet‐dependent illnesses. These results highlight that public toilets are essential to ensure collective well‐being, particularly when considering those affected by their presence or lack thereof. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Whilst research suggests that yoga can positively impact physical and psychological wellbeing, understanding of youth's experiences is limited with no non-clinical studies in the UK. Ten focus groups explored perceptions and experiences of yoga among 35 youth (10–18 years). Inductive thematic analysis revealed that yoga was viewed as a holistic mind-body practice cultivating greater awareness and enhanced physical performance. Youth described yoga as providing tools that developed confidence, stress-management and emotional self-regulation. Social and relational impacts of yoga were highly valued. Despite the perceived biopsychosocial benefits of yoga, gendered and media representations of yoga may serve as a barrier to uptake. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Judo coaches are urged to develop specific competencies and skills for addressing the special needs of older practitioners. Thus, the purpose of this study was to investigate the experts' opinions on judo training in late adulthood to develop sound educational programs for coaches of older judo practitioners. Overall, eighty-eight experts from an international consortium of judo and educational partners participated in national focus groups. During the focus groups, experts discussed five themes and generated statements pertinent to educate coaches to support older judo practitioners (e.g., benefits; necessary knowledge; risks; training groups definition; tools; and tests for monitoring training plans). The initial list of 262 statements was synthesized, validated, analyzed, and organized into a final list of 55 statements and six macro-areas: aging process (n = 10); safety and first aid (n = 6); physiology and fitness (n = 12); psychology and mental health (n = 11); organization and environment (n = 5); adapted judo teaching and training (n = 11). The present international eminence-based study, harmonizing diverse intercultural perspectives, highlighted the specific needs of older judo practitioners. The results of this study will contribute to the structure of a sound educational program for coaches of older judo practitioners to enhance the quality of older adults' sports experiences by linking safety, enjoyment, social interactions, and learning principles. The objective of this study was to identify the meanings that Brazilians attribute to the vaccines against COVID-19. A nonprobabilistic sample of 1,817 Brazilians was used, each of whom answered a sociodemographic questionnaire and then the free word association technique was applied, with the inducing stimulus "vaccine for COVID-19". This data was analyzed using descriptive statistics in the SPSS software and the textual analysis was completed using IRaMuTeQ. The results were organized into classes: (1) "Vaccine - a glimmer of hope", portraying the expectation of healing and freedom; (2) "Vaccine - a scientific response to prevention", showing the role of research; and (3) "Vaccine - fears and political aspects", highlighting obstacles to vaccination. The results also demonstrated differences in responses depending on the region; adhesion to isolation; history of infection and hospitalization for COVID-19; being a frontline health professional; and being from a risk group. It is concluded that understanding the meanings of vaccination is essential for planning more effective interventions in immunization. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Case studies are often used to supplement lecture material to students of psychology. Recent research on the use of online support forums has been shown to be more effective in increasing student attainment of course learning objectives than the use of case studies. Objective: The current research replicated two studies on the use of online support forums and extended this work to chronic pain and compared midterm exam scores from two different semesters when case studies and online support forums were used as a supplementary learning exercise. Method: Following a lecture on chronic pain students were randomly assigned to either the case study or online support forum condition and asked to rate their experience based on four learning objectives. Results: Students who took part in the online support forum learning exercise rated the four learning objectives higher and obtained higher marks on a midterm exam than students in the case study exercise. Conclusion: Reading people's personal accounts of their experience with chronic pain through online support forums is more effective in increasing student understanding of the effects of chronic pain than the traditional case study. Music therapy is a type of approach that is garnering momentum in health psychology and mental health counseling. This review aimed at exploring its intervention management relevance on distressed people. Empirical evidence from three previous researches informed our present discussion. Result of this review shows that music therapy is a clinically relevant approach for cushioning the effect of distress people. In the studies reviewed, significant improvements in the reduction of distress scores were reported among distressed people exposed to music therapy. However, the scope of the study with a randomized control studies are required to generalize the clinical relevance of music therapy among distressed people. The study found that proper management of music therapy can help is effective in the reduction of emotional distress. Individuals should manage their emotions through the use of controlled frequency music in order to calm their nerves. We introduce the Workable Ranges Model (WRM) as a visual map and method for enacting and exploring embodied knowing about stress and emotion regulation. The WRM portrays three core psychophysical states in spatial form. Optimal and flexible regulated states are positioned centrally between two lines representing thresholds of tolerance beyond which are hyperarousal above and hypoarousal below. In developing the WRM as a method of embodied enquiry, we focus on visual techniques of mapping and time-lining. To illustrate the potential of the WRM as a map and method for 'drawing out' embodied knowing in research participants, we describe two phases of research in which the facilitation of first-person enquiry for therapeutic purposes doubled as data generation. We then consider how the WRM might be expanded as a research tool across fields interested in similar phenomena including occupational and health psychology, sports science, and food and nutrition. In so doing, we explore three shared methodological features of our example study: (i) visual presentation of the WRM; (ii) facilitated first-person embodied enquiry; and, (iii) multiple data-collection points. The research methods presented could have wide application to describe and understand trajectories to, and experience of, conditions affected by stress and emotion dysregulation. With the technological development in general, grief support has now gained a foothold on the internet with a huge variety of offers for bereaved individuals. However, researchers disagree whether this is mainly helpful or unhelpful in grief. The aim of this article was to examine how spousally bereaved individuals with dependent children had experienced the use of an online peer support group following bereavement. To the majority of respondents (83%, n = 70) the group had been immensely helpful. Thematic analysis of participant responses to open-ended questions resulted in three different themes: Identification, Good advice, and Changes in group use over time. The study underlines a need for a renewed focus on how we organize the support for parentally bereaved families in Denmark, and in particular, how the access to information and sources of support following a loss are made available across the board. Introduction Health Psychology highlights the complexity of factors that influences the individual decision to adopt one, or more, protective behaviours for avoiding diseases and adverse health outcomes. One of the most relevant theory is the Protection Motivation Theory (Rogers, 1975), which has been adopted for identifying the psychological factors involved in many protection behaviours. Another relevant construct for healthy behaviours is represented by the Time Perspective (Zimbardo & Boyd, 1999). This study analysed the relationships between the Protection Motivation Theory applied on Covid-19 and Time Perspective in Italian young people. Method A group of 130 young people (m. age 26.4; 40 males and 90 females) participated in the study, filling in the Swedish Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory and the Motivation to Protect against Covid-19 Questionnaire. Three single items furthermore explored the prevailingly sources of information for Covid-19 (social media such as Facebook; traditional media such as TV; specialistic magazines such as Le Scienze) used and a single item tested the level of mistrust in Political Institutions and mass-media and its association with protection motivation, beliefs and perceived vulnerability to Covid-19. Results. Perceived vulnerability to Covid-19 and use of protections and perceived efficacy of protections, show positive correlations with Future Positive; beliefs on Covid-19 vaccine resulted as negatively correlated with Present Fatalistic; a positive correlation between mistrust in political institutions and Present Fatalistic has been found. Social media (such as Facebook, Instagram) and traditional mass media (such as TV) as preferred systems of information are both positively correlated with beliefs on Covid-19 vaccine, perceived vulnerability and use of protections, highlighting the role of new forms of circulation of information, but also the relevance of traditional ones for young people. Perceived vulnerability to Covid-19, perceived efficacy of protections give a positive contribution to the intention to get vaccinated; mistrust in political institutions and media on the contrary reduces the intention to take the vaccine. Conclusions. Results are discussed in relations to preventive interventions on the young population for the improvement of self-awareness of persistence of this virus and consequently the necessity of adopting self-protection, with special attention to vaccination. The relevance of time perspective dimensions for protection suggests to include it in the programs devoted to reduce the risk of contagion. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Recognizing the importance of prevention during a highly transmissible disease like COVID-19, this study analyzed the effect of health psychological capital and health appraisals (benefits, barriers, contextual threat, seriousness and susceptibility) on voluntary adoption of preventive behavior. The theoretical framework was based on health belief model. The study also proposed the mediating role of health appraisals between health psychological capital and preventive behavior. Participants from Pakistan (N= 321) and Malaysia (N= 343) completed an online survey. Samples from both countries were compared for measurement model invariance and variance in path coefficient. Partial least squares approach to SEM using SMART-PLS3 software was adopted to analyze the measurement model, structural model, importance-performance analysis, and mediation testing. Our finding showed that the model explained a higher variance in preventive behavior for Pakistani samples compared to Malaysian samples. Countries were found to moderate some of the proposed relationships. Benefits and threats are the two most important predictors of preventive behaviors in both countries. Psychological capital is more predictive of coping and threat appraisals and is, directly and indirectly, related to preventive behavior via benefits, barriers, and threats in Pakistani sample, and only indirectly related to preventive behavior via benefits and threats in the Malaysian sample. Perceived threat also mediates the relationship of susceptibility and seriousness with preventive behavior. Public health messages should focus on enhancing health psychological capital, highlight the potential benefit and emphasize the perils of not adopting the precautionary approach. The article reviews on the paradoxical characteristics of practicing organization development (OD) as internal consultants within a regional healthcare network. It discussed the need for separation and integration, cultivating relationships while maintaining neutrality, balancing expediency and effectiveness, advising as subject matter experts while eliciting client wisdom and expanding services while maintaining capacity.

The aim of this scientific essay is to propose a conceptual approach of a bidirectional progression of psychosocial factors at work. The argument considers: 1) the delimitation of the theoretical framework, on the one hand of the psychology of occupational health and, on the other, the psychosocial at work and organizations; 2) a review and specification regarding the conceptual advance; 3) a critical reflection to propose a progression from risk factors and psychosocial risks to protective factors and psychosocial protectors. In conclusion, the usefulness of this proposal lies in having a spectrum that contextualizes research and guides professional interventions carried out in the workplace to improve the psychosocial health of people at work. This in‐session issue is focused on psychotherapists involved in and performing teamwork practices. Specifically, five teamwork‐based psychotherapy interventions are illustrated as solutions for complex clinical situations drawing from multiple theoretical approaches (narrative, systemic, cognitive behavioral, and integrative) and applied in different health care provision settings, ranging from psychotherapy private office to a multidisciplinary oncological service. The contributions try to cover a diversity of presenting problems: separating couples, gang involvement, schizophrenia, cancer and suicidal ideation, bipolar disorder; and formats of delivery such as couple therapy supervision, family therapy, multidisciplinary team formulation and interprofessional health psychology. Three main shared coordinates underlie the diversity of interventions: (1) Considering that psychotherapy is just a piece of a broader network of interactions and meanings generated around a given problem/solution and, thus, it is part of an ecology of ideas (ecological dimension), (2) Assuming interdependence and collaboration as the best strategies to interact with professionals and significant others involved with a given problem or solution (collaborative dimension), and (3) fostering a strengths‐based case formulation (epistemological dimension). Background and Objectives: Anxiety manifests as feelings of worry, stress, and physical changes, such as rapid heart rate and high blood pressure. According to the coronavirus prevention protocols, home quarantine is necessary to control the disease in society, but doing it causes a feeling of social isolation and, ultimately, different psychological effects, such as mood disorders, depression, anxiety, and mental disorders. This study aims to investigate the relationship between religious attitudes and anxiety caused by COVID-19 in the population of South Khorasan Province, Iran. Methods: Using a web-based descriptive-analytical study, data from 507 people were voluntarily collected using a demographic information questionnaire, religious attitudes of Sirajzadeh (26 questions), and anxiety caused by COVID-19 disease (18 questions). Multivariate linear regression was used to identify the effect of factors affecting anxiety related to the disease. Results: The results of this study showed no significant relationship between religious attitudes and anxiety in two-variable analysis (P>0.05), but in the presence of other variables in multivariate linear regression analysis, a significant relationship is observed between the dimension of the consequence of religious attitudes and physical anxiety (P=0.006). Also, the level of anxiety among women (P<0.001) in the age group 31-40 (P=0.003), married people (P<0.001), the unemployed (P<0.001), and people with a history of chronic diseases (P=0.003) was higher. Conclusion: This study showed a significant relationship between the consequences of religious attitude and physical anxiety, as well as high levels of anxiety among different population groups. Our study revealed high levels of anxiety among different populations among these groups. In this regard, the health care system should reduce the level of anxiety among high-risk groups by using psychological interventions and strengthening the religious basis of the society using religious leaders. Introduction: Questionnaires are designed to measure specific constructs. Occupational Health Psychology (OHP) includes various domains/areas like work place well-being, work related stress, flourishing, resilient coping, coping mechanisms, compassion satisfaction, burnout and secondary traumatic stress. At times, specific questionnaire may not be available and if available, may not be in the language intended to be used by the respondents. A new questionnaire needs to be developed or translation of an available questionnaire into the respondents' language is required in such case. Aim: To detail out the translation process of the study tools (questionnaires/scales) and to assess the validity and reliability of these study tools used in OHP. Materials and Methods: The present cross-sectional, Quasiexperimental study was conducted in the Department of Community Medicine, Pramukhswami Medical college, Anand District, Gujarat, India, from February 2021 to January 2023 using multimethod study design amongst the healthcare professionals. For translation, standard World Health Organisation (WHO) translation guide was followed. Nine scales/questionnaires along with a socio-demographic and a qualitative proforma were finalised to achieve the objectives. The questionnaires availability in public domain was taken into consideration while selecting the questionnaires. Reliability analysis and validity assessment was done. Reliability measure was checked for internal consistency by calculating Cronbach's alpha. Construct validity was assessed by Multitrait-Multimethod Matrix. Translation was done in Hindi and Gujarati languages. Results: Flourishing scale (FS), Brief resilient coping scale, compassion satisfaction and work satisfaction were positively correlated and all these were negatively correlated with all the stress measures, Depression, anxiety measures of Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS), Burn out and secondary traumatic stress. Cronbach's alpha for internal consistency measure was calculated for different sub domains of the nine questionnaires. Construct validity was analysed by calculating correlation coefficients between different identified constructs/sub constructs. Variables measuring similar construct were found to be positively correlated and significant. Conclusion: Variables/questionnaires measuring a similar construct were found to be positively correlated and significant, whie opposite constructs were negatively correlated. The questionnaires need to be translated in the language in which the participants can understand. The better linguistic comprehension will increase the internal validity of the study. The SMART acronym (e.g., Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Timebound) is a highly prominent strategy for setting physical activity goals. While it is intuitive, and its practical value has been recognised, the scientific underpinnings of the SMART acronym are less clear. Therefore, we aimed to narratively review and critically examine the scientific underpinnings of the SMART acronym and its application in physical activity promotion. Specifically, our review suggests that the SMART acronym: is not based on scientific theory; is not consistent with empirical evidence; does not consider what type of goal is set; is not applied consistently; is lacking detailed guidance; has redundancy in its criteria; is not being used as originally intended; and has a risk of potentially harmful effects. These issues are likely leading to sub-optimal outcomes, confusion, and inconsistency. Recommendations are provided to guide the field towards better practice and, ultimately, more effective goal setting interventions to help individuals become physically active. Latent class analysis was used to explore intersections of material circumstances and health care access among 308 adults, and associations between classes with health outcomes. Good fit was found for a four-class model: Resource Stable (Class 1, 62.43%), Unbalanced Meals with Health Care (Class 2, 16.91%), Resource Insecurity with Delayed Health Care (Class 3, 14.75%), and Resource Stability without Access to Health Care (Class 4, 5.91%). Class 1 reported greater well-being and self-rated health than Class 2 and 3. Class 1 reported lower BMI than Class 2. Clinical health psychologists provide adaptive, evidenced-based interventions that incorporate behavioral medicine and behavioral health strategies, with the potential to integrate broadly across the medical system. Veterans Affairs (VA) healthcare strives to meet the needs of an increasingly diverse patient population with complex behavioral health needs. This conceptual paper describes an example of health psychology at one VA healthcare system, with a focus on adaptive and culturally responsive services reaching Black, Indigenous and People of Color/Veterans of Color (BIPOC). The clinical health psychology services and cases described aim to reach Veterans who may not participate in, or benefit as fully from, traditional disease self-management or mental health services. The authors offer recommendations, to secure the value and sustainability of these integrated health psychology services, and hopefully contribute to addressing healthcare inequities. Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) following a traumatic injury is a significant public health concern impacting approximately a third of traumatically injured patients. In 2018, the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Committee on Trauma recommended implementation of PTSD screening and brief intervention in level 1 trauma centers to meet the mental health needs of this underserved population. In March 2022, ACS revised its standards to include a requirement for mental health screening and referral process in level 1 and level 2 trauma centers. However, implementation of these programs has been limited. One barrier to implementation has been the lack of cross-trained trauma and health psychologists to support the development and implementation of trauma-focused programs in acute and critical care settings. This paper is a call to action to bring together experts in the fields of trauma and health psychology to effectively address training gaps in post-injury PTSD and medical traumatic stress. Through development of trauma and health psychology cross-training models, the field of psychology can collaborate to meet the increasing demand for trauma-focused psychologists in acute and critical care settings. Food production accounts for one‐third of greenhouse gas emissions; the Farm to Fork strategy aims to make food systems more sustainable and healthier to curb the rising global surface temperature. It includes several actions targeting consumer behavior, including increasing the availability of sustainable and healthy products and mandatory nutritional labeling. The actions address relevant psychological mechanisms; however, the outlined actions are vague and based on only a small number of behavioral determinants that may limit effectiveness. Introduction: Spinal surgery patients often experience pain as well as stress, anxiety or even depression before surgery, highlighting the need for better mental preparation before undergoing surgery. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and positive psychology have proven effective in coping with chronic pain and providing long-term skills that enhance psychological flexibility and mental wellbeing. The aim of this study is to develop a digital intervention (app) based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and positive psychology in co-creation with all stakeholders, including patients and professionals. The aim of the intervention is to increase psychological flexibility and positive skills of spinal surgery patients to promote long-term resilience. Materials and methods: In this qualitative study, individual, semi-structured interviews were held with healthcare professionals (N = 9) and spinal surgery patients (N = 12) to identify contextual factors and needs for the app. Subsequently, three focus-group sessions were held with healthcare professionals and newly recruited patients to specify relevant values. Also, a first version of the app, named Strength Back, was developed using a participatory design. Results: The interviews confirmed the need for information and digital support to cope with insecurity, anxiety and pain, both before and after surgery. Based on iterative steps in the focus-group sessions, thirteen modules were developed focusing on procedural information, pain education, psychological flexibility and mental well-being. Discussion: The intervention Strength Back, containing information as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and positive psychology exercises, has the potential to increase psychological flexibility, enhance well-being and improve postoperative recovery after spinal surgery. The article emphasizes the importance of movement both for childrenʹs health and also for intellectual development and the competences. The aim of the research is to study not only theoretically but also practically the role of movements as an irreplaceable health and competence resource. The results of a survey with teachers, which concerns the development of motor skills in kindergarten, are also presented. Movements and perceptions are seen as necessary prerequisites for acquiring knowledge about the surrounding world. The importance of movements is also considered withhin salutogenesis. Basic functions of movements are outlined. Various perspectives are presented in the context of immovability. Attention is also focused on the factors influencing the occurrence of motor deficits in children: family, kindergarten, environment. In this study, we apply the Theory of Planned Behavior to understand the factors that explained adherence to health recommendations during the first wave of Covid-19 in Mexico City. To do this, we designed and implemented an online survey on prevention measures (N=2,794). In addition, we generate an empirical model based on the Theory of Planned Behavior to hypothesize about correlations between variables in the survey. In addition, we included four simple experiments in the survey. We found that norms, attitudes and perception of control are correlated with the planning and adoption of preventive actions. In the experiments we observe (1) that corruption reduces the credibility of the government with respect to the health crisis (n=414), (2) doctors are more persuasive about prevention (n=681), and (3) masks generate feelings of security (n=700). We conclude that the Theory of Planned Behavior is useful to make sense of data from surveys like ours. We encourage governments in developing countries to use methods like ours to collect and interpret data, even if provisional, to respond to future health crises. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Open Science practices include some combination of registering and publishing study protocols (including hypotheses, primary and secondary outcome variables, and analysis plans) and making available preprints of manuscripts, study materials, de-identified data sets, and analytic codes. This statement from the Behavioral Medicine Research Council (BMRC) provides an overview of these methods, including preregistration; registered reports; preprints; and open research. We focus on rationales for engaging in Open Science and how to address shortcomings and possible objections. Additional resources for researchers are provided. Research on Open Science largely supports positive consequences for the reproducibility and reliability of empirical science. There is no solution that will encompass all Open Science needs in health psychology and behavioral medicine's diverse research products and outlets, but the BMRC supports increased use of Open Science practices where possible. Art and movement are motivating forces in, through, and beyond education. As populations age, there is an increasing need to support physical and social well‐being. Yet, since the onset of the COVID‐19 pandemic, there has been a reported exponential increase in feelings of loneliness across generations. Complex challenges require trans‐disciplinary solutions, and this paper represents a joint effort within and across disciplines, communities and cultures to find ways to ameliorate this silent epidemic. In this paper, we propose a cross‐disciplinary conceptual framework where Aboriginal Artists and Knowledge Holders, Teacher Educators, and Physical and Occupational Therapists come together to explore theoretical and pedagogical insights that encompass intergenerational art–moving–well‐being practices, reducing feelings of loneliness and improving social connections across generations. There are two main aims of this paper; first, to better understand current studies that report on integrating art–moving–well‐being practices, and the effect this has on health and well‐being of intergenerational participants (under 10‐year‐olds, 20+ year olds and 50+ year olds). Second, based on community needs, the long‐term aim is to propose a flexible art–moving–well‐being conceptual model that is scalable, sustainable and based on social and relational support systems. We propose a model that is flexible and adaptable within and across our local community and beyond. We argue that feelings of loneliness are unique to each individual, and there is a need to connect specific intergenerational programmes with art–moving–well‐being practices that readily engage and integrate varied communities and cultures in sustainable ways and thus, contribute to thriving communities. The purpose of this study is to characterize contemporary Canadian health psychology through an environmental scan by identifying faculty, research productivity and strengths, and collaborator interconnectivity. Profiles at Canadian universities were reviewed for faculty with psychology doctorates and health psychology research programs. Publications were obtained through Google Scholar and PubMed (Jan/18–Mar/21). A total of 284 faculty were identified. Cancer, pain, and sleep were key research topics. The collaborator network analysis revealed that most were linked through a common network, with clusters organized around geography, topic, and trainee relationships. The present study investigated the relationship among personality traits (extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, and openness), self-esteem and self-efficacy between three types of smoking behavior (smokers, non-smokers and experimental smokers). It was hypothesized that there was likely to be a relationship and differences between personality traits, self-esteem, self-efficacy and three types of smoking behavior (smokers, non-smokers and experimental smokers) in male medical students. Correlational (cross-sectional) research design and purposive sampling were used in the present study. The sample was comprised of 452 males, (N=452) including 209 smokers (n=209), 171 non-smokers (n=171) and 72 experimental smokers (n=72) from medical universities of Lahore, with age range of 18-27 years. Smoking Behavior Assessment (SBA; World Health Organization, 1998; Kaplan, Napoles-Springer, stewart, Perez-Stable, 2001), Big Five Inventory (BFI; John & Srivastava, 1999), Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES; Rosenberg, 1965) and General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSE; Schwarzer & Jerusalem, 1995) were used to assess the study variables. The results of Pearson product moment correlation revealed that smokers have significant negative correlation with agreeableness and conscientiousness traits of personality but have a positive correlation with self-esteem and negative correlation with self-efficacy. Experimental smokers have no correlation with any of the personality traits. Whereas, it showed negatively significant correlation with self-esteem while showed a positive association with self-efficacy. One-way ANOVA disclosed that there is a significant difference among three groups. The study has important implications in the field of health psychology and can be used in considering personality traits and improving self-esteem and self-efficacy of male medical students who smoke by taking in consideration of results for devising smoking management programs. A majority of American adults value the role that art plays in education at the K-12 level. However, the potential benefits of arts-based, kinesthetic learning activities have not been well-documented at the college level. Twenty-three undergraduate students participated in passive learning, traditional active learning activities and arts-based kinesthetic learning activities throughout one semester in a 300-level health psychology course. Overall, students reported more positive perceptions, and higher retention, of course material taught using arts-based kinesthetic activities compared to traditional active learning activities or passive learning. Multiple theories, including family systems, epigenetics, attachments, and many others, have proposed mechanisms for trauma transmission from generation to generation. Intergenerational trauma is today one of the most important psychosocial issues affecting Afghans' mental health and psychology, with the potential to affect subsequent generations. A variety of factors have impacted the mental health of the Afghan population over the years, including years of conflict, socioeconomic instability, natural disasters, chronic drought conditions, economic turmoil, and food insecurity, all of which have been exacerbated by recent political turbulence and the The Coronavirus pandemic COVID‐19 pandemic that has further increased the susceptibility to intergenerational trauma among the Afghan population. International bodies must play a role in addressing intergenerational trauma among Afghans. Breaking the chain in future generations will be possible by resolving political issues, providing adequate health facilities, financial support, and eliminating stigmas associated with mental health issues. The article discusses possible inspirations for medical historians resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. The author analyzes the role of the history of medicine in the COVID-19 pandemic. This situation is understood as an opportunity for changes in Polish medical historiography in its non-classical sense. The author also investigates the narrative structures, showing how, in the context of a pandemic, such fundamental metaphors as pathogenesis, salutogenesis or pathocenosis could be used. The attention is also given to public discourse, inspiring the historian of medicine to address such notions as breakthroughs in science, the process of validating new medical knowledge during a pandemic crisis, or anti-science. The concept of pathocenosis as a theoretical framework for the scientific and public ‘COVID-related’ discourse was analyzed as a case study.
