160. Threshold identity authentication signature: Impersonation prevention in social network services.

Abstract

Summary: While the social network services (SNS) have dominate the ways that people communicate with each other on the Internet, identity impersonation remains to be a serious issue that needs to be solved due to the anonymity in the cyber network. Currently, the potential solution to the problem relies heavily on the administration from the central server, which requires intensive workload of the identity management. In this article, we propose a threshold identity authentication signature scheme to solve the impersonation problem from the protocol layer rather than software design in the traditional upper level. In our scheme, with the help of some authenticated accounts, trusted relationship can be shared in a group to other unauthenticated accounts, which largely decrease the workload of authenticating all the accounts. Users are given the ability to verify other accounts' identity information by their signatures. Then, we establish three security goals to prevent the malicious adversary to launch the impersonation attack on a group. We claim that our scheme is suitable for the SNS scenario since the procedure of generating a signature to prove the identity requires little computation cost, it is user‐friendly especially on the lightweight devices such as mobile devices and so on. Abstract

As the representative of the third industrial revolution, the Internet of Things technology has become a huge driving force behind the changes in human production and lifestyle after the Internet. With its unique features and advantages, IoT technology has extensive and in-depth applications in smart cities, intelligent transportation, and industrial production. With the rapid development of 5G networks, the characteristics of 5G networks with fast speed, low latency, and large access volume will provide a broader platform for the development of Internet of Things technology. At the same time, the arrival of the 5G era will bring great challenges to the security of the Internet of Things. As the entrance and business cornerstone of the IoT network, identity authentication will play an important role in responding to IoT security threats. At present, the efficient and reliable IoT identity authentication method has been the subject of constant exploration and research in the academic world, especially the Internet of Things identity authentication method in the 5G network environment. This paper first analyzes the development and existing problems of 5G technology and Internet of Things technology. On this basis, it summarizes the theoretical basis, technical approach, and advantages and disadvantages of current identity authentication. Finally, this paper discusses the application of blockchain technology to 5G. A new trend in the development of the Internet of Things identity authentication in the network environment.

Abstract

In order to support the development of renewable energy, countries around the world have adopted certain renewable energy incentive mechanisms, including feed-in tariff (FIT) and renewable portfolio standard (RPS). Based on the official report concerning renewable energy consumption issued by the Chinese government in 2018, FIT is no longer an ideal renewable incentive mechanism for China. The increasing financial burden of renewable subsidies on the government has prompted a transition from FIT to a more market-based RPS mechanism. However, the abrupt transformation from FIT to RPS without any transitions might potentially cause problems, including a lack of incentives for market participants and a high market risk. Feed-in premium (FIP), which is a transformation based on FIT, can increase the flexibility of the mechanism and play an important role in the transitional period. However, to date, there has only been limited research work that has explored the effect of implementing FIP-RPS in the development of renewable energy in China. It is still not clear how this transition could be carried out smoothly. Therefore, this research was aimed to devise a joint FIP-RPS mechanism and further develop the optimal combination ratio of the two, so as to obtain a socially optimal mechanism design. The simulation results showed that, at different stages of renewable energy development, FIP and RPS should be implemented according to their distinct characteristics, and the joint FIP-RPS mechanism should be combined with different ratios. It could be indicated that the proposed joint FIP-RPS mechanism not only excels at promoting renewable energy, but is also capable of maintaining desirable market prices and social welfare in this transitional period, as compared to FIP and RPS implemented alone. In the future, a certain degree of FIP-RPS implementations to this type of energy transition would be one of the preferred methods that could be implemented to have a considerable influence on China&rsquo, s national energy plan. This is because the combination of the two mechanisms not only reduces the financial burden of the government, but also plays an active role in the renewable energy market.

174. Flexible Thermoelectric Double-Layer Inorganic/Organic Composites Synthesized by Additive Manufacturing

Abstract

This study shows an approach to combine a high electrical conductivity of one composite layer with a high Seebeck coefficient of another composite layer in a double-layer composite, resulting in high thermoelectric power factor. Flexible double-layer-composites, made from Bi2Te3-based-alloy/polylactic acid (BTBA/PLA) composites and Ag/PLA composites, are synthesized by solution additive manufacturing. With the increase in Ag volume-ratio from 26.3% to 41.7% in Ag/PLA layers, the conductivity of the double-layer composites increases from 12 S cm(-1)to 1170 S cm(-1), while the Seebeck coefficient remains approximate to 80 mu V K(-1)at 300 K. With further increase in volume ratio of Ag until 45.6% in Ag/PLA composite layer, the electrical conductivity of the double-layer composites increases to 1710 S cm(-1), however, with a slight decrease of the Seebeck coefficient to 64 mu V K-1. The electrical conductivity and Seebeck coefficient vary only to a limited extent with the temperature. The high Seebeck coefficient is due to scattering of low energy charge carriers across compositionally graded interfaces. A power factor of 875 mu W m(-1) K(-2)is achieved at 360 K for 41.7 vol.% Ag in the Ag/PLA layers. Abstract

Summary: Secure proxy technique has a wide range of applications especially in the area of VPN to protect the private communication from being surveilled. However, the adversaries may also take advantage of the VPN services for other purposes. Thus, knowing the characteristics of the corresponding security protocols will benefit the administration to narrow down the targets. Also, given the various VPN services on the market, we also want to know whether there exists some security flaws from the cryptographic protocol's point of view, so that can be used to improve analyzing the protocol. In this paper, we first target several widely used open source secure proxy protocols and provide their weaknesses through the static analysis. Then we apply the deep learning technique to train all the related network traffic, and our results showed that all the secure proxy traffics can be successfully distinguished with high accuracy. Abstract

Flexible n-type tungsten carbide/polylactic acid (WC/PLA) composites were fabricated by additive manufacturing and their thermoelectric properties were investigated. The preparation of an n-type polymer-based thermoelectric composite with good stability in air atmosphere via additive manufacturing holds promise for application in flexible thermoelectric devices. For WC/PLA volume ratios varying from similar to 33% to 60%, the electrical conductivity of the composites increased from 10.6 to 42.2 S/cm, while the Seebeck coefficients were in the range -11 to -12.3 V/K.
