A study was conducted to characterize the intracellular brain protein from the human transferrin (TF) gene and examine its role in the expression of human apolipoprotein E alleles in transgenic mice. Engineered plasmids identified the protein as chloramphenicol acetyltransferase (CAT) while southern blot analysis was used to identify the TF-CAT gene in transgenic mouse. The results of the study are discussed.

The science of economics can be seen as a universal discipline where a basic set of principles may be applied to any given situation, regardless of the boundaries of time and space. However, economics can also be inclusive since some of its propositions regarding organizational alternatives can be understood only within the context of specific historical and cultural environments.

Constitutionality is said to provide the ideal environment for economic prosperity and progress. A government's activities should be constitutionally constrained for a country to achieve favorable economic results. A socialism-influenced parliamentary majority elected via the democratic process could be detrimental to a market economy's potential value. The effects may approximate or even surpass that of an authoritarian rule.

Social norms impose constraints on behaviour and choices, with reciprocity being one such norm, and these constraints mean that opportunistic behavior is not universal. The problems of the Soviet Union illustrate the difficulty of developing norms for market economies to work, in a short space of time.
