- Abstract
The aim of this study was (a) to investigate which individual and country characteristics explain why adolescents engage in sexting and (b) whether individual predictors vary across countries. On the individual level, we investigated age, gender, sensation seeking, and frequency of internet use. On the country level, we investigated traditionalism, gross domestic product, and broadband penetration. The sample consisted of 14,946 adolescents (49.7% boys) aged 11 to 16 from 20 European countries. Using multilevel modeling, our findings indicate that age, sensation seeking, and frequency of internet use predicted sexting across all countries. The influence of gender varied across countries. Although country characteristics had no direct effect on adolescent sexting, traditionalism significantly predicted gender differences in sexting. In more traditional countries, gender differences were stronger with more boys than girls engaging in this behavior. In less traditional countries, these gender differences were less apparent or even reversed.

This paper reports on several experiments performed by the TanDEM-X constellation that could be potentially implemented as operational modes in future SAR missions. Many of them have been already demonstrated ex-perimentally and could be repeated during a possible next pursuit monostatic phase with TanDEM-X. The new modes include new single-look products as well as interferometric ones, some of which are included in this paper as an example of their potential performance.

- Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate developmental pathways of online sexual risk behavior from early to late adolescence. Moreover, this study examined how these trajectories are related to negative online experiences, such as online sexual solicitation, online harassment, and online rumination. A four-wave longitudinal study with a representative sample of 1,762 Dutch adolescents aged 12 to 17 was conducted. Group-based modeling revealed three distinct developmental pathways. One group of adolescents showed no online sexual risk behavior during adolescence, a second group showed low levels and the third group high levels of online sexual risk behavior. The high online risk group followed the typical adolescence-limited developmental pathway with a peak in risk engagement in mid-adolescence. Further analyses suggested that engagement in online sexual risk behaviors is related to three types of negative online experiences: online sexual solicitation, online harassment, and online rumination.

This study investigated the development and consequences of offline and online peer victimization during adolescence. We examined the number of victimization trajectories, the relationship between trajectories, and their effect on life-satisfaction. A four-wave panel study with 6-month time intervals was conducted among a sample of adolescents aged 12-to-17-years (N = 1,762). Three offline victimization trajectories could be distinguished: a trajectory group of low to no victimization, a group of moderate victimization, and a group of high victimization across adolescence. Two groups in online victimization could be distinguished: a group of low to no and a group of moderate victimization which peaked at age 14. Dual-trajectory analyses revealed a substantial overlap between offline and online victimization. Finally, victimization and life-satisfaction were longitudinally related. The overlap between the offline and online victimization trajectories and their negative consequences on life-satisfaction suggest that prevention of peer victimization should focus on both types of victimization.

Abundant evidence over past decades shows that foods with added plant sterols and plant stanols lower serum LDL cholesterol concentrations. However, despite the overwhelming data, numerous scientific questions still remain. The objective of this paper is to summarize the considerations of 60 academic and industrial experts who participated in the scientific meeting in Maastricht, the Netherlands, on issues related to the health effects of plant sterols and plant stanols. The meeting participants discussed issues including efficacy profiling, heterogeneity in responsiveness, effects beyond LDL-C lowering, and food formulation aspects of plant sterol and stanol consumption. Furthermore, aspects related to the potential atherogenicity of elevated circulatory plant sterol concentrations were discussed. Until the potential atherogenicity of plant sterols is resolved, based on the results >200 clinical trials, the risk to benefit of plant sterol use is favorable. Evidence on these topics in plant sterol and plant stanol research was presented and used to reach consensus where possible. It was concluded that endpoint studies looking at plant sterol and plant stanol efficacy are needed, however, there was no clear opinion on the best marker and best design for such a study. Based on the current scientific evidence, plant sterols and plant stanols are recommended for use as dietary options to lower serum cholesterol. © 2012.

Since November 2006, DLR operates F-SAR - a new airborne SAR sensor beside its experimental airborne SAR sensor E-SAR. F-SAR is a totally new development utilizing most modern hardware. It is presently operated in X-band and has been supplemented recently being fully polarimetric. F-SAR already accomplished several flights and acquired SAR data in different operation modes, amongst others in along-track-interferometric and full polarimetric mode. Several data takes were acquired at the Kaufbeuren calibration site where eleven permanently deployed corner reflectors are used for calibration. The paper describes the X-band subsystem calibration of F-SAR in geometric, radiometric and polarimetric terms and for along-track interferometry.

Differential photoproduction cross sections are measured for events containing D*± mesons. The data were taken with the H1 detector at the ep collider HERA and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 51.1 pb-1. The kinematic region covers small photon virtualities Q2 < 0.01 GeV2 and photon–proton centre-of-mass energies of 171 < Wγ p < 256 GeV. The details of the heavy quark production process are further investigated in events with one or two jets in addition to the D*± meson. Differential cross sections for D*+jet production are determined and the correlations between the D*± meson and the jet(s) are studied. The results are compared with perturbative QCD predictions applying collinear- or kt-factorisation., The European Physical Journal C, 50 (2), ISSN:1434-6044, ISSN:1434-6052

Differential dijet cross sections are measured in photoproduction in the region of photon virtualities Q^2 < 1 GeV^2 with the H1 detector at the HERA ep collider using an integrated luminosity of 66.6 pb^{-1}. Jets are defined with the inclusive k_T algorithm and a minimum transverse momentum of the leading jet of 25 GeV is required. Dijet cross sections are measured in direct and resolved photon enhanced regions separately. Longitudinal proton momentum fractions up to 0.7 are reached. The data compare well with predictions from Monte Carlo event generators based on leading order QCD and parton showers and with next-to-leading order QCD calculations corrected for hadronisation effects., 18 pages, 5 figures, 5 tables

The production of tau leptons in ep collisions is investigated using data recorded by the H1 detector at HERA in the period 1994-2000. Tau leptons are identified by detecting their decay products, using leptonic and hadronic decay modes. The cross section for the production of tau lepton pairs is measured for the first time at HERA. Furthermore, a search for events with an energetic isolated tau lepton and with large missing transverse momentum is performed. The results are found to be in agreement with the Standard Model predictions., Comment: 28 pages, 6 figures, 6 tables

A search for a narrow baryonic resonance decaying to $K^0_s p$ or $K^0_s \bar p$ is carried out in deep inelastic ep scattering with the H1 detector at HERA. Such a resonance could be a strange pentaquark \thplns, evidence for which has been reported by several experiments. The $K^0_s p$ and $K^0_s \bar p$ invariant mass distributions presented here do not show any significant peak in the mass range from threshold up to 1.7 GeV. Mass dependent upper limits on $\sigma(ep \to e \thplf X)\times BR(\thplf \to K^0 p)$ are obtained at the 95% confidence level., Comment: 13 pages, 4 figures

A search for the single production of doubly-charged Higgs bosons H ± ± in ep collisions is presented. The signal is searched for via the Higgs decays into a high mass pair of same charge leptons, one of them being an electron. The analysis uses up to 118 pb -1 of ep data collected by the H1 experiment at HERA. No evidence for doubly-charged Higgs production is observed and mass dependent upper limits are derived on the Yukawa couplings h e l of the Higgs boson to an electron-lepton pair. Assuming that the doubly-charged Higgs only decays into an electron and a muon via a coupling of electromagnetic strength h e μ = sqrt(4 π α em) ≃ 0.3, a lower limit of 141 GeV on the H ± ± mass is obtained at the 95% confidence level. For a doubly-charged Higgs decaying only into an electron and a tau and a coupling h e τ ≃ 0.3, masses below 112 GeV are ruled out. © 2006 Elsevier B.V. Additive manufacturing (AM) has developed into a promising technology allowing the parallel production of several complex parts with high resolution. Especially AM of ceramics shows great potential in the field of medical and dental applications where personalized aesthetic restorations are demanded. Accuracy is therefore a must to meet the high standards of those fields. At TU Wien we developed a special lithography based manufacturing technology where layer-by-layer a photosensitive slurry with ceramic or glass-ceramic filler is cured. To get dense ceramics the so called green body is then debinded and sintered. Two printing systems were evaluated: The first system uses a Digital Light Processing (DLP) approach, where a digital mirror device projects visible light (460 nm) and triggers polymerization. A second system is based on a diode-laser with 405 nm wavelength. In this case a galvanoscanner is used for structuring. The second system enables a feature resolution down to 20 m. The aim of this study is to compare both of this technologies for multiple ceramics such as zirconium oxide, tricalcium phosphate and composites. In order to get the best accuracy, printing parameters such as laser speed, hatching style, exposure time and intensity are varied. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A measurement of the beauty production cross section in ep collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 319 GeV is presented. The data were collected with the H1 detector at the HERA collider in the years 1999-2000. Events are selected by requiring the presence of jets and muons in the final state. Both the long lifetime and the large mass of b-flavoured hadrons are exploited to identify events containing beauty quarks. Differential cross sections are measured in photoproduction, with photon virtualities Q2 < 1 GeV2, and in deep inelastic scattering, where 2 < Q2 < 100 GeV2. The results are compared with perturbative QCD calculations to leading and next-to-leading order. The predictions are found to be somewhat lower than the data., The European Physical Journal C, 41 (4), ISSN:1434-6044, ISSN:1434-6052

Measurements are reported of the production of dijet events with a leading neutron in ep interactions at HERA. Differential cross sections for photoproduction and deep inelastic scattering are presented as a function of several kinematic variables. Leading order QCD simulation programs are compared with the measurements. Models in which the real or virtual photon interacts with a parton of an exchanged pion are able to describe the data. Next-to-leading order perturbative QCD calculations based on pion exchange are found to be in good agreement with the measured cross sections. The fraction of leading neutron dijet events with respect to all dijet events is also determined. The dijet events with a leading neutron have a lower fraction of resolved photon processes than do the inclusive dijet data., The European Physical Journal C, 41 (3), ISSN:1434-6044, ISSN:1434-6052

Results are presented on the photoproduction of isolated prompt photons, inclusively and associated with jets, in the γp center of mass energy range 142 < W < 266 GeV. The cross sections are measured for the transverse momentum range of the photons 5 4.5 GeV. They are measured differentially as a function of EγT,EjetT, the pseudorapidities ηγ and ηjet and estimators of the momentum fractions xγ and x p of the incident photon and proton carried by the constituents participating in the hard process. In order to further investigate the underlying dynamics, the angular correlation between the prompt photon and the jet in the transverse plane is studied. Predictions by perturbative QCD calculations in next to leading order are about 30% below the inclusive prompt photon data after corrections for hadronisation and multiple interactions, but are in reasonable agreement with the results for prompt photons associated with jets. Comparisons with the predictions of the event generators PYTHIA and HERWIG are also presented., The European Physical Journal C, 38 (4), ISSN:1434-6044, ISSN:1434-6052

A measurement of charm and beauty photoproduction at the electron proton collider HERA is presented based on the simultaneous detection of a D*± meson and a muon. The correlation between the D* meson and the muon serves to separate the charm and beauty contributions and the analysis provides comparable sensitivity to both. The total and differential experimental cross sections are compared to LO and NLO QCD calculations. The measured charm cross section is in good agreement with QCD predictions including higher order effects while the beauty cross section is higher., Physics Letters B, 621 (1-2), ISSN:0370-2693, ISSN:0031-9163, ISSN:1873-2445, Physics letters. Measurements are presented of inclusive charm and beauty cross sections in e + p collisions at HERA for values of photon virtuality Q 2 > 150 GeV2 and of inelasticity 0.1 < y < 0.7. The charm and beauty fractions are determined using a method based on the impact parameter, in the transverse plane, of tracks to the primary vertex, as measured by the H1 vertex detector. The data are divided into four regions in Q 2 and Bjorken x, and values for the structure functions Fcc¯2 and Fbb¯2 are obtained. The results are found to be compatible with the predictions of perturbative quantum chromodynamics., The European Physical Journal C, 40 (3), ISSN:1434-6044, ISSN:1434-6052

A search for squarks in R-parity violating supersymmetry is performed in e±p collisions at HERA using the H1 detector. The data were taken at a centre-of-mass energy of 319 GeV and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 64.3 pb-1 for e + p collisions and 13.5 pb-1 for e - p collisions. The resonant production of squarks via a Yukawa coupling λ′ is considered, taking into account direct and indirect R-parity violating decay modes. No evidence for squark production is found in the multi-lepton and multi-jet final state topologies investigated. Mass dependent limits on λ′ are obtained in the framework of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. In addition, the results are interpreted in terms of constraints on the parameters of the minimal Supergravity model. At the 95% confidence level squarks of all flavours with masses up to 275 GeV are excluded in a large part of the parameter space for a Yukawa coupling of electromagnetic strength. For a coupling strength 100 times smaller, masses up to 220 GeV can be ruled out., The European Physical Journal C, 36 (4), ISSN:1434-6044, ISSN:1434-6052

A search for scalar top quarks in R-parity violating supersymmetry is performed in e^+ p collisions at HERA using the H1 detector. The data, taken at sqrt{s}=319 GeV and 301 GeV, correspond to an integrated luminosity of 106 pb^-1. The resonant production of scalar top quarks \tilde{t} in positron quark fusion via an R-parity violating Yukawa coupling lambda' is considered with the subsequent bosonic stop decay \tilde{t} -> \tilde{b} W. The R-parity violating decay of the sbottom quark tilde{b} -> d \bar{nu_e} and leptonic and hadronic W decays are considered. No evidence for stop production is found in the search for bosonic stop decays nor in a search for the direct R-parity violating decay \tilde{t} -> eq. Mass dependent limits on lambda' are obtained in the framework of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. Stop quarks with masses up to 275 GeV can be excluded at the 95% confidence level for a Yukawa coupling of electromagnetic strength., 20 pages, 5 figures and 2 tables
