Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) patients are exposed to a 7.5 times higher risk of hypoglycemia while fasting during Ramadan. Relevant diabetes guidelines prioritize the use of SGLT2 inhibitors over other classes. There is a great need to enrich data on their safe and effective use by fasting patients at greater risk of hypoglycemia. Therefore, this study aims to assess the safety and tolerability of Empagliflozin in T2DM Muslim patients during Ramadan. A prospective cohort study was conducted for adult Muslim T2DM patients. Patients who met the inclusion criteria were categorized into two sub-cohorts based on Empagliflozin use during Ramadan (Control versus Empagliflozin). The primary outcomes were the incidence of hypoglycemia symptoms and confirmed hypoglycemia. Other outcomes were secondary. All patients were followed up to eight weeks post-Ramadan. A propensity score (PS) matching and Risk Ratio (RR) were used to report the outcomes. Among 1104 patients with T2DM who were screened, 220 patients were included, and Empagliflozin was given to 89 patients as an add-on to OHDs. After matching with PS (1:1 ratio), the two groups were comparable. The use of other OHDs, such as sulfonylurea, DPP4 inhibitors, and Biguanides, was not statistically different between the two groups. The risk of hypoglycemia symptoms during Ramadan was lower in patients who received Empagliflozin than in the control group (RR 0.48 CI 0.26, 0.89; p-value = 0.02). Additionally, the risk of confirmed hypoglycemia was not statistically significant between the two groups (RR 1.09 CI 0.37, 3.22; p-value = 0.89). Empagliflozin use during Ramadan fasting was associated with a lower risk of hypoglycemia symptoms and higher tolerability. Further randomized control trials are required to confirm these findings. The healthcare field has experienced a significant increase in data generation due to the emergence of modern applications and the internet. Consequently, understanding and extracting meaningful information from these extensive datasets has become a critical factor in the success of any application in this sector. Digital analytics and classification tools can assist in handling the challenges of processing large datasets to produce highly consistent, logical, and information-rich summaries. This paper presents several analytics methodologies based on literature that can be used as pre-processing steps to determine dataset characteristics. The study conducted a comparative analysis of twelve classification algorithms using two international datasets to measure their efficiency accurately. The outcome of the analysis step will assist researchers in selecting the most suitable algorithm for each dataset's characteristics, resulting in more organized and thorough results. The study revealed that four algorithms, namely Logitboost, Random Forest, XGBoost, and Multilayer Perceptron, achieved the best accuracy. The XGBoost algorithm, which produced the highest accuracy, was used to classify new CBC datasets collected from various hospitals in Iraq for Hematology studies and statistics. Future research should investigate combining algorithms to leverage their benefits while overcoming their limitations. Overall, using digital analytics tools and algorithms in healthcare can provide critical insights into large datasets, leading to improved disease diagnosis outcomes and the advancement of medical knowledge. Background: Diagnostic laparoscopy is the standard procedure performed as the final test in the infertility work up before progressing to infertility treatment, but it was found that laparoscopy may increase the risk of pelvic infection which is one of the causes of infertility either in men or women. Objectives: To assess the cervix microbiologically in patients who were planned to have diagnostic laparoscopy as part of infertility investigations. Patients and methods: A cross sectional study done at department of obstetrics & gynecology, Baghdad teaching hospital, Medical city, Baghdad, Iraq in 2013, over a period of 7 months, cervical swabs were taken from 30 women complaining of infertility, just before diagnostic laparoscopy was done for them. For these swabs; gram stain, culture for bacteria, PCR (polymerase chain reaction) technique for detection of Chlamydial infection, and direct microscopical examination for Trichomonal infection were done. Results: We noticed higher percentage of cervical infections in patients who had past history of cervical cauterization, dilatation and curettage and / or hysterosalpingography. Conclusion: Cervical swab for bacteriology before any uterine instrumentation should be done as a routine investigation.

A simple, sensitive, accurate and economic spectrophotometric method has been developed for the determination of sulfacetamide (SFA) in pure form, synthetic sample and urine. The method is based on diazotization of primary amine group of sulfacetamide with sodium nitrite and hydrochloric acid followed by coupling with chromotropic acid in alkaline medium to obtain a stable orange colored chromogen which exhibit a maximum absorption (λmax) at 511.5 nm. Different variables affecting the completion of reaction have been carefully optimized following the classical univariate sequence and modified simplex method (MSM). Under optimized conditions, Beer’s law obeyed in the concentration range of (0.5- 20.0 µg.ml-1) with molar absorptivity of 3.2186*104 L.mol-1.cm-1. The limit of detection was 0.054 µg.mL-1 and Sandell’s sensitivity value 7.8989 µg.cm-2. The proposed method was successfully applied to the determination of (SFA) in synthetic sample and urine.

A simple, accurate and precise spectrophotometric method has been proposed for the determination of Mefenamic acid(MA) in dosage forms. Proposed method based on the reaction of cited drug with 1,2-Naphthoquinone-4-Sulfonic sodium (NQS). The optimum experimental condition have been studied. Beer's Law is obeyed in the concentration range 0.5-10.0 µg/mL at 450nm with detection limit of 0.189µg/mL. Effect of pH, reaction time, and volume of NQS on the determination of Mefenamic acid, have been examined. The proposed method has been successfully applied for the determination of Mefenamic acid in pharmaceutical preparations.

Twosimple, sensitive,accurate, and precise spectrophotometric methods have been developed for the determination of chlorpromazine – HCl in pure form and pharmaceutical formulation. The first method involved treatment of cited drug with a measured excess of permanganate in acid medium and the unreacted oxidant was measured at 525 nm. The second method involves the reaction of the drug with potassium permanganate in the presence of sodium hydroxide to produce a bluish – green colored manganite which is measurable at 610nm. All the experimental variables affecting the development of the manganite ions were investigatedand conditions were optimized. Working linearity ranges were 5-45 µg.mL-1and 1-20 µg.mL-1 by two methods respectively. The apparent molarabsorptivities are 4.015  103and 18.717 103L.mol-1.cm-1 respectively, with corresponding Sandell’s sensitivityvalues of0.0885and 0.01798µg.cm-2 respectively. The methods have successfully been applied to the determinationof drug in dosage forms.

A simple, sensitive, accurate and low cost effective spectrophotometric method has been developed for the determination of Tetracycline and Doxycycline in pure and pharmaceutical formulations. The method is based on the reaction of methyldopa with 4-aminoantipyren (4-AAP) in presence of potassium ferriecyanide (PFC) in an alkaline medium. Two optimization methods were applied to determine the optimum conditions of oxidizing coupling reaction variables; univariate and design of experiment (DOE) method. The conditions effecting the reaction; pH, buffer Volume, reagent concentration, oxidant concentration, type of buffer, order of addition, time of reaction and stability were optimized . Under univariate and design of experiment (DOE) method; the Tetracycline colored product having (λmax) at 531nm 535nm. Beer’s law was obeyed in concentration range of [two scale (1-18 µg.mL-1) and (15-70µg.mL-1)] with correlation coefficient of 0.9997 and 0.9942 respectively and for second method [two scale (1-30 µg.mL-1) and (40-100µg.mL-1)] with correlation coefficient of 1 and 0.9913. The assay limits of detection quantification were 0.1732, 0.3123µg.mL-1 respectively. Under univariate the Doxycycline colored product having (λmax) at 515nm. Beer’s law was obeyed in concentration range (10-90 µg.mL-1) with correlation coefficient of 0.9995. The assay limits of detection quantification were 1.0724µg.mL-1. The method was successfully applied to the analysis of the drug tablets formulation.

Charge transfer complex formation method has been applied for the spectrophotometric determination of cimetidine, in bulk sample and dosage form. The method was accurate, simple, rapid, inexpensive and sensitive depending on the formed charge- transfer complex between cited drug and, 2,3-Dichloro-5,6-dicyano-p- benzoquinone (DDQ) as a chromogenic reagent. The formed complex shows absorbance maxima at 587 nm against reagent blank. The calibration graph is linear in the ranges of (5.0 - 50.0) µg.mL-1 with detection limit of 0.268µg.mL-1. The results show the absence of interferences from the excipients on the determination of the drug. Therefore the proposed method has been successfully applied for the determination of cimetidine in pharmaceutical preparations.

Sulfamethoxazole (SMX) was added to P-N,N-dimethyl amino benzaldehyde (PDAB) by condensation reaction in acidic medium to form, a yellow colored dye compound which exhibits maximum absorption (λmax) at 450.5 nm. The concentration of (SMX) was determined spectrophotometrically. The optimum reaction conditions and other analytical parameters were evaluated. In addition to classical univariate optimization, design of experiment method has been applied in optimization of the variables affecting the color producing reaction. Beer’s law obeyed in the concentration range of 0.1-10 μg.mL-1 with molar absorptivity of 5.7950×104 L.mol-1.cm-1. The limit of detection and Sandell's sensitivity value were 0.078 μg.mL-1 was 4.3706 μg.cm-2 respectivily. The proposed method could be successfully applied to the determination of (SMX) in synthetic sample and urine.

Amoxicillin is commercially available in the form of capsules and tablets containing 250mg or 500mg for oral administration. It is also available in the form of suspension containing "25mg/ml†. Amoxicillin is presently used as the most common antibiotics .Ten healthy Human volunteers were characterized respected to their pharmacokinetic and bioavailability of two formulations of Amoxicillin from two sources of industrial companies after a single dose administration was given orally. A procedure is described for determination the concentration levels of Amoxicillin in human plasma of healthy volunteers using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with reversed-phase isocratic column at low wave length of UV-visible detection "230nm". An efficient drug extraction procedure was used for the separation of Amoxicillin after simple extraction with cold methanol using ODS-C18-DB column. The pharmacokinetic 500mg of Amoxicillin capsule orally administrated treatment through 10 hours has been examined. The Amoxicillin was eluted for "10.0 minutes" at flow Rate "1.5ml/min." and Temperature equal to 298 K .The retention time of Amoxicillin was observed at 7.0 minutes. The mean absolute recovery of Amoxicillin in blood plasma of all healthy volunteers were 94.1% at 1.0ppm, 102% at 5.0ppm, 103% at 10.0ppm 102% at 20ppm, 99.3% at 40ppm and 104% at 50ppm respectively. The assay showed excellent relationships between area under the curve ratios and drug concentration levels (P>0.002) .Oral Amoxicillin administration in ten healthy volunteers gave maximum concentration peak plasma at two hours and decline through ten hours. Treatment with Iraqi formulation Amoxicillin produced higher area under the curve “AUC†and maximum concentration “C (max)†of Amoxicillin than Indian formulation. This study is conducted to establish the profile of some serum biochemicals which included creatinine, urea, glucose, total protein and albumin concentrations in 104 clinically normal donkeys (65 males and 39 females) aged 2-4 years. Animals were classified on the basis of age and sex, in Baghdad city/ Iraq. The Results showed that the, mean values ± standard error (SE) of serum creatinine and urea concentrations were as follows: Creatinine 65.55±2.01 µmol/L and urea 6.79±0.20 mmol/L, while serum concentrations of glucose, total protein and albumin were 54.7±3.09 g/dl, 123±14.3 and 3.4±0.08 mmol/L, respectively. Creatinine values showed a significant difference between 4 years and more than 4 years old subgroups. However, there were no differences in serum urea concentration between male and female and compared with biochemical ranges obtaining for another donkey breeds. This suggested that most biochemical values determined in this study serve as reference ranges for Iraqi donkey and could be used in health control and diagnosis of diseases. In conclusion a significant increase in serum creatinine was recorded at age 4 and more than 4 years as compares with serum urea and no differences in serum glucose, total protein and albumin.

Objectives: To evaluate the quantity and quality of published vascular surgery research articles from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries so as to identify areas for improvement. Design: Descriptive study. Materials: Published MEDLINE articles on vascular surgery from the GCC countries (1960–2010). Methods: Critical analysis of the articles. Results: A total of 146 articles were studied, majority of which were case series/case reports (55.5%); 33% of the articles were prospective. The first author was from a university in 67.1% of the articles. Only one randomized controlled trial was found. The median (range) impact factor of the journals was 1.16 (0.16–12.64). Kuwait had the highest number of publications/country, standardized/100,000 inhabitants. There were 11 experimental studies, which were all from Kuwait. Torsion is resisted well by closed form reinforcement, due to the circulatory nature of the torsion inducing shear flow stresses in a beam. Therefore, it will be more efficient to have strengthening schemes, which are wrapped in closed form around the cross section. An experimental work was carried out and used superplasticizer with mix 1:1.5 to improve the mechanical properties of mortar. 12 rectangular beams (50x120)mm and 1m length are cast, strengthened and tested under pure torsion. The Variables considered in the test program include: effect number of wire mesh layers ( unit ), this unit consists of two layers of wire mesh with skeletal steel, (2, 3, 4) units and effect spacing of CFRP strips, (100,160,200) mm c/c. Test results are discussed based on torque – rotation behavior and influence of parameters on ultimate torque and failure modes. Generally, using optimum dosage of super plasticizer (1.4 % of weight of cement) gave compressive strength 65.65 MPa. Increasing the number of units from 2 to 4(reinforcement near the surface of beam section) led to increased ultimate torque by (13.44 %) and from 2 to 3(uniformly distributed reinforcement) led to increases the ultimate torque by only (3.24 %). When the beams are strengthened with CFRP strips, the lowest and highest increase in torque is at 112 % (4-units,@200 spacing) and 312 % (4-units,@100 spacing), respectively. The ultimate torque of beams with CFRP strips @ 100 mm and 160 mm spacing is greater than beams with CFRP strips @ 200 mm spacing by ( 94.34,45.28) %, respectively for the group having 4-units.

This Study is aimed to present a simplified approach enable to construction of a new design charts for hollow section reinforced concrete columns subjected to an axial compressive load and uniaxial bending. These design charts can be used directly in the analysis and design of hollow section columns. These charts can be used in design to determine the required amount of steel reinforcing in addition to the required column dimensions, while in the analysis by using these charts; the column load capacity can be estimated. Two design examples are given to explain the use of the new design charts. It has been shown by these examples that the new proposed charts are very simple to use in structural design applications.

In this paper, artificial search algorithm(breath algorithm ) are used to design a symmetric key cryptography system based on DES algorithm,the LFSRs and breath algorithm are applied to generate a pseudo-random numbers sequence (PNS) which is used during the encryption process. The quality of PNSs highly depends on the set of LFSRs rule by selected the polynomial equation cells . This paper introduces a new method to enhance the performance of the Data Encryption Standard (DES) Algorithm. This is done by building a new structure for the 16 rounds in the original algorithm. This structure makes use of multiple secrete keys and the length of key is256-bits to process one block 256-bits of plain text.

Two field experiments were conducted at the Experiment and Research Center, Fac. Agric., Moshtohor, Benha Univ., Qalubia Governorate, Egypt, in the summer seasons 2021 and 2022 to study the performance of seven genotypes of rice under three levels of nano-N spraying on growth, yield and its attributes. The most important results obtained from this study can be summarized as follows: The results of the study revealed that the maximum highest No. tillers plant-1 (23.26 tiller), No. spikes plant-1 (19.98 panicle), panicle length (25.41 cm), panicle weight (4.39 g), 1000-grain weight (29.11 g) and grain yield plant-1 (59.48 g) obtained by spraying with 800 ml fed-1 concentration treatment, while, spraying with zero and 400 ml fed-1 concentration treatments were decreased No. days to 50% flowering in the combined analyses. Rice genotypes were highly significant affected on all of the studied characters. G2 genotype was the earliest in No. days to 50% flowering compared with other rice genotypes, whereas, G1 genotype gave the highest values of No. tillers plant-1, No. spikes plant-1, panicle weight, 1000-grain weight and grain yield plant-1, while, G5 genotype gave the highest value of panicle length in the combined analyses. Effect of the interaction between nano-N spraying treatments and rice genotypes were showed highly significant for No. tillers plant-1, No. spikes plant-1, panicle length, panicle weight, 1000-grain weight and grain yield plant-1. Generally, spraying with 800 ml fed-1 concentration treatment under G1 genotype recorded the highest values for these traits except panicle length in combined data. It could be complemented that under the conditions of the experiment, planting G1 genotype with spraying with 800 ml fed-1 concentration is recommended. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
