A1 Introduction to the 8th Annual Conference on the Science of Dissemination and Implementation: Optimizing Personal and Population Health David Chambers1, Lisa Simpson2 1Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences, National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, Rockville, MD, 20850, USA; 2AcademyHealth, Washington, DC, 20036, USA For the second year in a row, we are pleased to be able to share the proceedings of the Annual Conference on the Science of Dissemination and Implementation in Health, a large meeting reflecting the expanding and evolving research field that seeks to optimize the use of evidence, interventions, and tools from health research within the myriad of settings where people receive health care, make health-related decisions, and increase knowledge of influences on the health of the population. We once again benefitted from a strong partnership, co-led by AcademyHealth and the National Institutes of Health (NIH), with co-sponsorship from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and the WT Grant Foundation. In addition, we benefitted from the collaboration of staff from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). NIH and AcademyHealth again co-led the program planning committee, which focused on the development of the plenary sessions, and convened a scientific advisory panel to suggest speakers and advise on the overall conference development. The planning committee identified four key areas around which to focus the plenary panels and keynote address. Dr. America Bracho, M.D., M.P.H., Executive Director of Latino Health Access in Orange County, California, spoke about the opportunities for implementation science to inform efforts to improve community health and engage underserved populations. The three plenary panels each focused on a significant future direction for dissemination and implementation (D & I) research: the interface between D&I science and population health, emerging opportunities for global implementation science, and the challenges around implementation of precision medicine. The plenary sessions were complemented by facilitated lunchtime discussions on the same three topics, which offered participants an opportunity to identify key research questions for each and brainstorm next steps. Synopses of the lunchtime discussions are included in this supplement. Given the overwhelming success of the 2014 conference and the large number of abstracts received in 2014 (660), the program planning committee identified eight program tracks for abstract submitters to respond to, and through which the concurrent sessions of the conference would be organized. These tracks—Behavioral Health, Big Data and Technology for Dissemination and Implementation Research, Clinical Care Settings, Global Dissemination and Implementation, Promoting Health Equity and Eliminating Disparities, Health Policy Dissemination and Implementation, Prevention and Public Health, and Models, Measures and Methods— were designed to enable conference participants to follow a consistent theme across the multiple sessions of the conference and form the structure of this supplement. The call for abstracts, including individual paper presentations, individual posters and panel presentations, resulted in 515 submissions, spread across the eight thematic tracks. Over one hundred reviewers devoted their time to ensuring a comprehensive and expert review, and reviews were conducted within each track and coordinated by the track leads. For the final program, 64 oral presentations, 12 panels, and 263 posters were presented over the two-day meeting. Slides for the oral presentations and panels (with the agreement of the authors) were posted on the conference website (http://diconference.academyhealth.org/archives/2015archives) and all abstracts were included on the conference webapp (https://academyhealth.confex.com/academyhealth/2015di/meetingapp.cgi). This supplement has compiled the abstracts for presented papers, panel sessions, and lunchtime discussions from the 8th Annual Meeting on the Science of Dissemination and Implementation in Health: Optimizing Personal and Population Health. We are pleased to have the abstracts from the conference together in one volume once again, and look forward to the 9th Annual meeting, scheduled for December in Washington, D.C.

International audience; We review the mechanisms responsible for long-range Josephson transport in ballistic hybrid superconductor/ferromagnet/superconductor (SFS) structures with the exchange field modulated in eigher coordinate or momentum space. these mechanisms are based on the suppression of the destructive interference of electron and hole waves in a ferromagnet caused by the exchange field. The interference suppression results in a slow decay of the singlet component of the pair correlation function in a ferromagnet and an increase in the Josephson current in SFS structures.

The method of field weakening, which provides constant power at a constant current, is examined. This method is based on maintaining constant steady-state values for projections of stator current on the longitudinal and transverse axes of a synchronous motor. The projection of stator voltage on the longitudinal axis remains unchanged, but the projection of stator voltage on the transverse axis depends on speed. To assess the effectiveness of this method, a mathematical model of the electric drive was developed with vector control and a field-weakening module. From this model of the working of the electric drive, the mechanical characteristics and dependence of efficiency on the speed of the motor were established using the program Simulink.

This work was supported by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research, project no. 10-03-96043-r_Urals_a. Temperature dependencies of density (by the gamma-penetrating method), electrical resistivity (by the contact-less method in rotating magnetic field), and magnetic susceptibility (by the Faraday method) of Sn-Bi alloys with near-eutectic compositions are investigated. The alloy with eutectic composition, Sn -58% (mass) Bi, is shown to differ significantly in the electron structure from hypo- and hypereutectic ones. The melt overheating above the given temperature provides the hysteresis of the properties sensitive to electron structure.

We present the results of lidar measurements of the vertical distribution of optical parameters of anomalous aerosol formations in the atmosphere and the polarization state of backscattered sounding radiation, obtained in Tomsk (56.48°N; 85.05°E) and Surgut (61.25°N; 73.43°E) in April–May 2010. Data from measurements using back trajectory analysis of atmospheric air-mass transport according to the NOAA HYSPLIT MODEL showed that the observed anomalous aerosol formations were due to transport of the products of the Eyjafjallajokull volcano eruption in Iceland (April 14, 2010). First traces of the volcanic eruption were recorded in the troposphere over Tomsk on April 19. The volcanic aerosol persisted in the troposphere for about 10 days in total; it penetrated into the stratosphere insignificantly and could not have noticeable long-term radiation and thermal effects.

Experimental and theoretical studies of ferromagnet-superconductor hybrid systems consisting of a Josephson junction placed in the nonuniform field of submicron ferromagnetic particles are reviewed.

A 35-year-old single woman with no history of mental disorders presents to a family physician with concerns about her alcohol use and emotional problems. She was referred from the emergency department. She drinks one to two bottles of wine almost every night and notices that she has to drink

Unrecorded alcohol consumption in Russia: toxic denaturants and disinfectants pose additional risksIn 2005, 30% of all alcohol consumption in Russia was unrecorded. This paper describes the chemical composition of unrecorded and low cost alcohol, including a toxicological evaluation. Alcohol products (n=22) from both recorded and unrecorded sources were obtained from three Russian cities (Saratov, Lipetsk and Irkutsk) and were chemically analyzed. Unrecorded alcohols included homemade samogons, medicinal alcohols and surrogate alcohols. Analysis included alcoholic strength, levels of volatile compounds (methanol, acetaldehyde, higher alcohols), ethyl carbamate, diethyl phthalate (DEP) and polyhexamethyleneguanidine hydrochloride (PHMG). Single samples showed contamination with DEP (275-1269 mg/l) and PHMG (515 mg/l) above levels of toxicological concern. Our detailed chemical analysis of Russian alcohols showed that the composition of vodka, samogon and medicinal alcohols generally did not raise major public health concerns other than for ethanol. It was shown, however, that concentration levels of DEP and PHMG in some surrogate alcohols make these samples unfit for human consumption as even moderate drinking would exceed acceptable daily intakes.

In course of the search for the optical identifications associated with ROSAT X-ray sources we have found a highly variable object with the very unusual long-term behavior, color indices and high X-ray-to-optical flux ratio. We report the archival photometric light curve from the Catalina Sky Survey, optical spectroscopy from RTT150 and time-resolved photometry from Astrotel-Caucasus telescope. The object appears to be the magnetic cataclysmic variable (polar) with orbital period of P=3.20 hr., 8 pages, 5 figures. Submitted to Astronomy Letters

Using PCR and nested PCR methods, 382 blood samples from adult small mammals of 14 species were examined for Babesia microti. The mammals were trapped in the southern taiga of the Middle Urals (Chusovskoi district, Perm Region). The DNA of human babesiosis agent was detected in the blood of 172 small mammals (45.0% of the samples examined) of 11 rodent and insectivore species (Chlethrionomys glareolus, C. rutilus, C. rufocanus, Microtus oeconomus, M. agrestis, Myopus schisticolor, Apodemus uralensis, Sorex araneus, S. caecutiens, S. isodon, S. tundrensis). Especially high infection rates were characteristic of C. glareolus and S. araneus (47.1 and 38.2 %, respectively), the most abundant small mammal species in the study area. The results confirm the high frequency of contact of small mammals with B. microti in forest ecosystems of the Middle Urals and indicate that they probably maintain circulation of this pathogen.

Background: Alcohol use disorders (AUD), i.e., alcohol dependence and abuse, are major contributors to burden of disease. A large part of this burden is because of disability. However, there is still controversy about the best disability weighting for AUD. The objective of this study was to provide an overview of alcohol-related disabilities. Methods: Systematic literature review and expert interviews. Results: There is heterogeneity in experts’ descriptions of disabilities related to AUD. The major core attributes of disability related to AUD are changes of emotional state, social relationships, memory and thinking. The most important supplementary attributes are anxiety, impairments of speech and hearing. Conclusions: This review identified the main patterns of disability associated with AUD. However, there was considerable variability, and data on less prominent patterns were fragmented. Further and systematic research is required for increasing the knowledge on disability related to AUD and for application of interventions for reducing the associated burden.

Problems concerning the interpretation of the results of crystal cloud investigations by laser sensing are considered. The parameters characterizing the orientation of cloud particles are determined using backscattering matrix elements. It is shown how these parameters are related to the probability density of the particle distribution over the spatial orientation angles. The trends in the change of the backscattering matrices at variations of the zenith angle of a sensing path inclination are shown by the example of a monodisperse ensemble of ice particles.

Aims As part of a larger study to estimate the global burden of disease and injury attributable to alcohol: to evaluate the evidence for a causal impact of average volume of alcohol consumption and pattern of drinking on diseases and injuries; to quantify relationships identified as causal based on published meta-analyses; to separate the impact on mortality versus morbidity where possible; and to assess the impact of the quality of alcohol on burden of disease. Methods Systematic literature reviews were used to identify alcohol-related diseases, birth complications and injuries using standard epidemiological criteria to determine causality. The extent of the risk relations was taken from meta-analyses. Results Evidence of a causal impact of average volume of alcohol consumption was found for the following major diseases: tuberculosis, mouth, nasopharynx, other pharynx and oropharynx cancer, oesophageal cancer, colon and rectum cancer, liver cancer, female breast cancer, diabetes mellitus, alcohol use disorders, unipolar depressive disorders, epilepsy, hypertensive heart disease, ischaemic heart disease (IHD), ischaemic and haemorrhagic stroke, conduction disorders and other dysrhythmias, lower respiratory infections (pneumonia), cirrhosis of the liver, preterm birth complications and fetal alcohol syndrome. Dose-response relationships could be quantified for all disease categories except for depressive disorders, with the relative risk increasing with increased level of alcohol consumption for most diseases. Both average volume and drinking pattern were linked causally to IHD, fetal alcohol syndrome and unintentional and intentional injuries. For IHD, ischaemic stroke and diabetes mellitus beneficial effects were observed for patterns of light to moderate drinking without heavy drinking occasions (as defined by 60+ g pure alcohol per day). For several disease and injury categories, the effects were stronger on mortality compared to morbidity. There was insufficient evidence to establish whether quality of alcohol had a major impact on disease burden. Conclusions Overall, these findings indicate that alcohol impacts many disease outcomes causally, both chronic and acute, and injuries. In addition, a pattern of heavy episodic drinking increases risk for some disease and all injury outcomes. Future studies need to address a number of methodological issues, especially the differential role of average volume versus drinking pattern, in order to obtain more accurate risk estimates and to understand more clearly the nature of alcohol-disease relationships.

SUMMARYThe aim of this study was to quantify the association between alcohol consumption and incidence of pneumonia and to examine possible pathways. This was done by a systematic review and meta-analyses on the dose–response relationship between alcohol consumption or alcohol-use disorders and the incidence of community-acquired pneumonia (CAP). The relative risk (RR) of CAP increased monotonically with increasing alcohol consumption. Individuals consuming 24, 60, and 120 g of pure alcohol daily demonstrated RRs for incident CAP of 1·12 (95% CI 1·02–1·23), 1·33 (95% CI 1·06–1·67) and 1·76 (95% CI 1·13–2·77), respectively, relative to non-drinkers. Clinically defined alcohol-use disorders were associated with an eightfold increased risk of CAP (RR 8·22, 95% CI 4·85–13·95). In conclusion, alcohol was found to be a risk factor for pneumonia with a clear statistical association, and a monotonic dose–response relationship.

Purpose: The purpose of this research was to analyze andquantify the association between alcohol consumptionand epilepsy as an independent disease, in part operation-alized by the occurrence of unprovoked seizures, as wellastoexaminecausality.Methods: Systematicreview,meta-analysis.Results: A strong and consistent association betweenalcohol consumption and epilepsy/unprovoked seizureswas found with an overall relative risk (RR) of 2.19 [95%%confidence interval (CI) 1.83–2.63]. There was a dose–responserelationshipbetweentheamountofalcoholcon-sumed daily and the probability of the onset of epilepsy.Individuals consuming an average of four, six, and eightdrinks daily had RRs of 1.81 (95%% CI 1.59–2.07), 2.44 (95%%CI 2.00–2.97), and 3.27 (95%% CI 2.52–4.26), respectively,compared to nondrinkers. Several pathogenic mecha-nisms for the development of epilepsy in alcohol userswere identified. Most of the relevant studies found that ahigh percentage of alcohol users with epilepsy would qual-ify for the criteria of alcohol dependence. Data wereinconclusive regarding a threshold for the effect of alco-hol, but moststudiessuggestthat theeffectmay onlyholdforheavydrinking(fourandmoredrinksdaily).Discussion: The relationship between alcohol consump-tion and epilepsy and unprovoked seizures was quantifiedand several pathogenic mechanisms were suggested,although none of them has been proven to be the uniquecausative pathway for epilepsy. Certain limitations under-lying this study require further research to clarify the out-standing statistical issues and pathogenesis of epilepsy inheavydrinkers.KEY WORDS: Alcohol, Heavy drinking, Alcohol depen-dence,Epilepsy,Unprovokedseizures.

In 2005, approximately half of all alcohol consumption in Ukraine was unrecorded. This paper investigates the chemical composition of unrecorded and low-cost alcohol, including a toxicological evaluation. A sample of alcohol products (n=78) from both recorded and unrecorded sources was obtained mainly from eastern Ukraine, and chemically analyzed. Analysis entailed alcoholic strength, levels of volatile compounds (methanol, acetaldehyde, higher alcohols), ethyl carbamate, anions, and inorganic elements. The majority of unrecorded alcohol was homemade samohon with alcoholic strength averaging close to 40% vol. A limited number of samples, advertised for medicinal purposes, were identified with high alcoholic strengths (above 60% vol.). Single samples showed contamination with acetaldehyde and ethyl carbamate above the levels of toxicological concern. Metal contamination was frequent, with copper levels above 2mg/l in 33 samples, and zinc above 5mg/l in 10 samples. Overall, however, the composition of unrecorded samples did not raise major public health concerns other those for ethanol. The priority of alcohol policy in Ukraine should be the general reduction of alcohol consumption with a specific focus on that from small-scale home production. Further research is needed on potential mitigative measures and the origin of the metal contamination in particular alcoholic beverages.

The results of theoretical and experimental investigations of the peculiarities of the nucleation of superconductivity in the presence of a nonuniform magnetic field induced by ferromagnetic films or dots with out-of-plane magnetic anisotropy are reviewed. It is shown that the phase transition line of superconductor-ferromagnet hybrids in the H-T plane (H is an external magnetic field and T is temperature) is determined significantly by the spatial distribution of nonuniform magnetic field. It allows to control the thermodynamic and transport properties of superconductor-ferromagnet hybrids by tuning the magnetic state of the ferromagnet.

Interpretation of data of atmospheric laser sensing is based on the lidar equation valid for single scattering. However, investigations of dense aerosol formations call for consideration of multiple scattering. In the present paper, a method of correcting the light backscattering phase matrix (BSPM) measured in cloud depth, where the lidar signal is formed not only by single scattering but also by multiple scattering, is discussed. A data correction algorithm is based on the property of BSPM symmetry, double scattering approximation for lidar return description, and simplified polarized radiation transfer equations for anisotropic scattering media used to calculate the depolarization profile of lidar response from cloud depth. Results of calculating the polarization degree of double scattering lidar returns from homogeneous clouds are presented. The possibility of reconstructing the microstructure parameters for water-drop and crystal clouds from the polarization degree of double scattering lidar return by means of changing the polarization state of sensing radiation is demonstrated.

Randomized clinical trials have established the efficacy of naltrexone for reducing quantity of alcohol consumption and incidence of relapse to heavy drinking. To evaluate putative treatment mechanisms, human laboratory studies have examined naltrexone's effects on alcohol responses and self-administration during short-term medication protocols. Results from these studies are inconsistent and have yet to be examined in aggregate. This meta-analysis aimed to quantify naltrexone's effects on alcohol self-administration and craving in the context of placebo-controlled human laboratory trials. Potential moderators of medication effects were also examined. Meta-analyses of alcohol self-administration (k = 9, N = 490) and craving (k = 16, N = 748) confirmed that, under controlled experimental conditions, naltrexone reduces the quantity of consumption (Hedges' g = -.277, SE = .074, 95 percent CI = -.421, -.133, p .001) and magnitude of self-reported craving (g = -.286, SE = .066, 95 percent CI = -.416, -.156, p .001) relative to placebo. Subgroup and moderation analyses found no evidence that effect sizes differed by study population (dependent versus non-dependent drinkers), laboratory paradigm or duration of medication exposure. These results substantiate prior evidence for reductions in event-level craving and consumption as potential treatment mediators, also establishing effect sizes to inform future human laboratory trials. From a clinical perspective, these results may provide additional evidence regarding naltrexone's efficacy in the context of acute or subacute dosing regimens.

A technique for determining the microstructure parameters of high-level clouds on the basis of joint analysis of experimental and theoretical data is described. Results of the experiments on atmosphere laser sensing and theoretical calculations of light scattering by spatially oriented ice crystals are shown.

Different versions of linearized problems of the elastic wave propagation in prestressed bodies are considered. The influence of the version of the linearized elasticity theory chosen for calculating the magnitude of the acoustoelastic effect on the result of calculation is analyzed for longitudinal and shear waves and for Rayleigh surface waves. The results of theoretical calculations are compared with the experiment. Experimental data on the effect of bending stresses on the propagation velocity of Rayleigh waves are presented. These results extend the range of problems that can be solved by using the acoustoelastic effect.

Commensurability effects have been theoretically studied in a hybrid system consisting of a Josephson junction located in a nonuniform field induced by an array of magnetic particles. A periodic phase-difference distribution in the junction that is caused by the formation of a regular lattice of Abrikosov vortices generated by the magnetic field of the particles in superconducting electrodes is calculated. The dependence of the critical current through the junction I c on the applied magnetic field H is shown to differ strongly from the conventional Fraunhofer diffraction pattern because of the periodic modulation of the Josephson phase difference created by the vortices. More specifically, the I c(H) pattern contains additional resonance peaks, whose positions and heights depend on the parameters and magnetic state of the particles in the array. These specific features of the I c(H) dependence are observed when the period of the Josephson current modulation by the field of the magnetic particles and the characteristic scale of the change in the phase difference by the applied magnetic field are commensurable. The conditions that determine the positions of the commensurability peaks are obtained, and they are found to agree well with experimental results.

Methodology for determination of the optical and geometric characteristics of clouds is described. Problems of processing data obtained in experiments on polarization laser sensing of the atmosphere are discussed. Technique for reduction of the phase matrices of cirrus obtained with the high-altitude polarization lidar developed at National Research Tomsk State University to the symmetry plane affixed to the preferred orientation of ice crystals in cirrus is described. The experimental data are compared with the data of numerical modeling of phase matrices in the physical optics approximation and meteorological conditions over the lidar at cirrus altitudes. © (2015) COPYRIGHT Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE). The St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University «LETI» is one of the leading technical higher education institutions in Russia. The present article takes it as an example of a technical school to review problems faced by technical higher education institutions which train personnel and carry out researches in the fields of Electric Power and Electric Engineering, Control in Engineering Systems, Mechatronics and Robotics. The article presents a classification of enterprises which are potential partners of the higher education institution. It also presents suggestions how to overcome the situation.

We study the thermodynamics of the diffusive SFS trilayer composed of thin superconductor (S) and ferromagnet (F) layers. On the basis the self-consistent solutions of nonlinear Usadel equations in the F and S layers we obtain the Ginzburg--Landau expansion and compute the condensation free energy and entropy of the $0$ (even) and $\pi$ (odd) order parameter configurations. The first order $0-\pi$ transition as a function of temperature $T$ occurs, which is responsible for a jump of the averaged magnetic field penetration depth $\lambda(T)$ recently observed on experiments [N.Pompeo, et. al., Phys. Rev. B 90, 064510 (2014)]. The generalized Ginzburg-Landau functional was proposed to describe SFS trilayer for arbitrary phase difference between the superconducting order parameters in the S layers. The temperature dependence of the SFS Josephson junction critical current demonstrates the strong anharmonicity of the corresponding current--phase relation in the vicinity of the $0-\pi$ transition. Integrated care pathways (ICPs) provide an approach for delivering evidence-based treatment in a hospital setting. This column describes the development and pilot implementation in a clinical setting of an ICP for patients with concurrent major depressive disorder and alcohol dependence at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), an academic tertiary care hospital, in Toronto, Canada. The ICP methodology includes evidence reviews, knowledge translation, process reengineering, and change management. Pilot results indicate high patient satisfaction, evidence of symptom improvement, and excellent retention.

In this paper we present results of investigation of the main optical properties of East Asian clouds with a ground-based polarization lidar placed in Daejeon, Republic of Korea. Asian dust is located in elevated layers of the atmosphere in spring, travels long distances, and causes significant damage to ecology. We present backscattering matrices of clouds obtained from polarimetric remote measurements which comprise information on the scattering and absorption properties of cloud particles, their morphology, and spatial orientation. Theory of our applied lidar polarization experiment is presented in terms of the instrumental vectors of a transmitter and a receiver. Methods of solving linear and nonlinear systems of equations comprising echo signals are considered. Some numerical and measurement results are presented to illustrate the efficiency and versatility of the method of estimating the cloud parameters.

Modeling of numerical differentiation of position sensor signals is carried out. Formulas with variable number of terms of series are compared. Accuracy ranking for each equation is done.

Currently in use numerical differentiation of position sensor signals method consisting in derivative calculations by logarithmic differentiation is considered. The new speeded up derivative calculation method compared with the previous one is brought forward. Generalized mathematical operations quantity-counting formulas for either method with variable number of series terms are obtained. The numerical differentiation calculation time estimation for a microcontroller is given.

The article is devoted to creation of clarified mathematical model of stepper motor in Simulink. The main advantage of this model is opportunity for further development to taking into account the steps missing and torque drops which could not be accounted for the hybrid stepper motor library block.

The effect of an array of ferromagnetic nanoparticles on the field-dependent critical current of the short overlap Josephson junction is experimentally studied. Large reversible variations of the maximum critical current are observed depending on the magnetic state of the particles. The pronounced commensurability effects are detected which are proved by the additional peaks of magnetic field induced diffraction pattern.

The local magnetism at europium in platinum and in cerium was studied using perturbed angular correlation (PAC) spectroscopy. In platinum, europium shows the electronic properties of the trivalent status, which has a non-magnetic ground state ( J = 0 ). As a consequence, the Van Vleck contributions from the complete multiplet-level system predominantly determine the magnetic behaviour. In cerium, the measured data are close to the predictions for divalent europium. Here, only the electronic ground state, the pure spin state ( J = 5 / 2 ), has to be taken into account. The measurements were done utilising the isomeric 11/2− nuclear levels in 147Eu and 149Eu at 625 and 496 keV, respectively, after the precursors had been produced at the ion beam laboratory ISL Berlin or the on-line mass separator ISOLDE in Geneva.

Results of field tests of ultrasonic checking systems for the stress-strained state of pipelines on a hydrostand are considered. Biaxial mechanical stresses induced by a combined load, i.e., internal pressure and bending, are determined. Results of testing a microcrack locator that uses nonlinear acoustic effects are presented.

The hyperfine interactions of six different PAC (perturbed angular correlations) probes in the ferromagnetic spinel semiconductor HgCr2Se4 have been investigated. Thereby the site occupation of the probes was determined and opposed to that in other comparable substances. All of the three lattice sites could be tested. Theoretically calculated hyperfine fields (WIEN97) were compared with the experimental values.

The magnetic response of europium in g-cerium and in platinum was studied by applying the perturbed angular correlation spectroscopy. The probe nuclei were 147Eu(11/2−) and 149Eu(11/2−). The response in γ-Ce was determined by the electronic S = J = 7/2 ground state of divalent Eu. In Pt, on the other hand, Eu is trivalent (J = 0 ground state). Here the magnetic contributions originate from Van Vleck terms of the whole multiplet system.

PAC measurements on 111In(111Cd) implanted and thermally treated α-Fe have shown an indication for a cubic defect with the 111Cd probe in the centre of it. The measured room temperature (R. T.) magnetic hyperfine fields are B hf1 = −38.4(8) T for substitution and B hf2 = +11.5(3) T for the cubic defect. Additionally, probes with pure quadrupole frequency distributions were observed, which are incorporated in surface contaminations.

Theoretical and experimental substantiation of the possibility of using Rayleigh surface waves to monitor bending stress has been carried out; this makes it possible to expand the scope of problems that can be solved using the acoustoelasticity effect.

The maximal supercurrent Im of a short Josephson junction formed by an edge contact of two superconducting films is calculated for the case where the junction is placed in a periodic field produced by a chain of magnetic nanoparticles. The commensurability effects occurring when the magnetic flux of a homogeneous external field H0 through an elementary cell is equal to an integral number of magnetic flux quanta Φ0 are considered. The effects give rise to additional maxima in the Im(H0) dependence.

The semiconducting ferromagnetic spinel compounds CdCr 2 Se 4 , CdCr 2 S 4 , HgCr 2 Se 4 and CuCr 2 Se 4 (metallic) were investigated by the perturbed angular correlations (PAC) method with the radioactive probes 111 In, 111m Cd, 111 Ag, 117 Cd, 199m Hg and 77 Br. The probes were implanted at the ISOLDE on-line separator (CERN-Geneva) into single crystals. From the time dependence of the PAC spectra and the measured hyperfine interaction parameters: electric field gradient and magnetic hyperfine field, the probe positions and the thermal behavior of the probes could be determined. Cd, Ag and Hg are substituted at the A-site, In at the A- and B-site in the semiconducting compounds and Br at the anion position. Electric and magnetic hyperfine fields were used as test quantities for theoretical charge and spin density distributions of LAPW calculations (WIEN97).

In this paper present an example of joint analysis of the data of high-level cloud sensing with a ground based polarization lidar of Tomsk State University and satellite radiometer MODIS.

In the paper comparative evaluation of the photon mean free path in the system of metal nanoparticles and dielectric matrix is performed by means of numerical simulations. As a material of nanoparticles both metals (Ag, Cu) in which the frequency of plasmon resonance falls in the range under study and metals (Al, Ni) in which the plasmon resonance frequency is far from the investigated range have been used. The research has shown that for the studied metals the media based on Al nanoparticles satisfy best the Ioffe-Regel criterion for photons of visible wavelength range.

A comparative analysis of errors of two methods for the determination of phase matrices of high-level clouds with a ground-based lidar is performed.

The radioactive isotope 111mCd was implanted into BaTiO3 in order to measure electric field gradients (EFGs) with Perturbed Angular Correlation spectroscopy (PAC). It is possible to anneal the implantation induced lattice damage to a certain extent. Then, 111mCd probes are positioned at two sites with distinct axially symmetric EFGs characterized by the quadrupole coupling constants of 33.9(9) and 69.8(9) MHz. These EFGs can be assigned to 111mCd at the Ti- and the Ba-sites

Results of experimental research of low-temperature multicomponent mixed-refrigerant throttling refrigerator are given. Appliance of refrigerator in new domestic-made ultralow-temperature freezer for cryoconservation and long-term storage of medical and biological objects at temperature minus 150°C is described. Within experimental research, test bench with development prototype of ultralow-temperature medical freezer is made. Experimental and theoretical studies are compared. Availability and amount of local composition shift is defined. Ways to improve simulation model and increase energy efficiency of cryostatting systems are determined.

BackgroundBoth major depressive disorder (MDD) and alcohol use disorder are highly prevalent, often comorbid and cause significant socioeconomic burden. At CAMH, we have developed and integrated care pathway (ICP) to treat these disorders and evaluated its effectiveness in comparison to treatment as usual (TAU)MethodsChart review; descriptive statistics, c2 and t-tests, linear mixed effects models, Kaplan–Meier and log-rank analyses.ResultsOverall, 81 patients were enrolled into ICP. Comparisons of treatment retention rates between ICP patients and matched historical controls (n = 81) showed significantly lower dropout rate in ICP cohort (18.5% vs. 69.1%, P < 0.001, Fig. 1). The ICP patients demonstrated significant reduction in depressive symptoms severity (QIDS: 14.6 vs. 10.0, P < 0.001; BDI 26.3 vs. 16.2, P < 0.001), reduction in the amount of alcohol consumed weekly from 44.6 standard drinks at baseline to 12.6 (P < 0.001) by the end of treatment, which was significantly better compared to controls (56.9 vs. 25.2, P < 0.001), P = 0.014 (Fig. 2).ConclusionsThe ICP is a feasible approach to treatment of concurrent AUD and MDD with significantly higher retention rates than TAU. A differential optical absorption spectroscopy (DOAS) gas-analyzer was successfully tested. A high pressure 150-W Xe arc lamp was employed as a light source This system consisted of a coaxial telescope, a spectrometer, an analyzer and retroreflector. In order to record the spectra, a monochrometer with a grating and photodiode array was adopted. Gas analyzer spectral data bank includes more than 30 moleculas absorbed in UV spectral region. The measured absorption spectra were evaluated by using a least-squares fit to determine the average mixing ratio of each species in the atmosphere. A number of air pollutants concentrations: SO2, NO2, O3, etc were trace measured. Minimally detected concentration on pathlength 400 m is the unit of ppb at the time of accumulation of 2 min. The results of the field test measurements of pollutants in Tomsk are presented.

According to the model of the effective medium and G. Mie theory, attenuation cross-sections, cross-sections for scattering and absorption for metal nanoparticles nanosized aggregates have been assessed depending on the aggregate’s size , level of the aggregate’s filling with nanoparticles and physical properties of the nanoparticles material.

Experimental data on the variability of vertical and temporal aerosol structure obtained with a lidar complex comprising the TSU high-altitude lidar and the IAO SB RAS station of high-altitude lidar sensing of the atmosphere in 2011-2013 are presented in the work. The special feature of this observation period was practical absence of volcanic activity with emissions into the stratosphere, as well as in 2010. Therefore, the possibility arose of studying the monthly behavior of the vertical structure of the background aerosol in the stratosphere at nights during a three-year period.
