The article discusses some complex issues of N.A. Nekrasov’s poetry textual criticism, which the author had to solve in the course of preparing a new threevolume edition in the “Poet's Library” series. The status of the so-called “Posthumous edition” (1879) of Nekrasov's poems edited by S.I. Ponomarev, who used the now lost copy with the author's notes and revisions, is discussed. The textual critic is faced with the task of separating copyright editing from Ponomarev's conjectures, which he resorted to. The authoritative Soviet editions of Nekrasov did not take into account the versions of the “Poems” of 1879, which was sometimes erroneous, as is demonstrated in the article on the example of individual readings of such works as “Vlas”, “Philanthropist” and others.

The position weight matrix, also called the position-specific scoring matrix, is the commonly accepted model to quantify the specificity of transcription factor binding to DNA. Position weight matrices are used in thousands of projects and software tools in regulatory genomics, including computational prediction of the regulatory impact of single-nucleotide variants. Yet, recently Yan et al. reported that 'the position weight matrices of most transcription factors lack sufficient predictive power' if applied to the analysis of regulatory variants studied with a newly developed experimental method, SNP-SELEX. Here, we re-analyze the rich experimental dataset obtained by Yan et al. and show that appropriately selected position weight matrices in fact can adequately quantify transcription factor binding to alternative alleles.

The phase formation process of Bi2Cr1/6Mn1/6Fe1/6Co1/6Ni1/6Cu1/6Nb2O9+Δ containing 3d-ions of transition elements in equimolar quantities was studied in a wide temperature range (400–1050 °C). The complex oxide crystallizes in the structural type of pyrochlore (sp. gr. Fd-3m:2, a = 10.4937(2) Å). The investigation of the multi-element pyrochlore phase formation process showed that the synthesis goes through a series of successive stages, during which the transition from Bi-rich to Bi-depleted compounds takes place. The predecessor of the pyrochlore phase is bismuth orthorhombic modification orthoniobate (α-BiNbO4) with an equimolar ratio of Bi(III)/Nb(V) ions. The pyrochlore phase is formed as a result of bismuth orthoniobate doping with transition element ions. The complex oxides Bi14CrO24, Bi25FeO40, BiNbO4, and Bi5Nb3O15 appeared as intermediate phases during the synthesis. The interaction between the initial oxide precursors is fixed at temperatures above 500 °C. The phase transition of α-Bi2O3 into β-Bi2O3 near 500 °C is observed. Varying the heat treatment duration at each synthesis step did not qualitatively change the phase composition of the sample but had an effect on the quantitative phase ratio. Phase-pure pyrochlore of the given composition by solid-phase synthesis method can be obtained at a temperature no lower than 1050 °C. Ceramics are characterized by low-porous dense microstructure with blurred outlines of grain boundaries.

The effect of Zn-doping on the phase composition and optical properties of the Bi2ZnxFe1-xTa2O9.5-Δ (x = 0.3, 0.5, 0.7) was studied. XRD data showed that the samples crystallize in the structural type of pyrochlore (sp. gr.Fd-3m). For all the samples, an admixture of bismuth orthotantalate β-BiTaO4 triclinic modification up to 22.5 wt.% is observed. The content of β-BiTaO4 increases with zinc doping. The unit cell parameter of the pyrochlore phase rises from 10.4878 (x = 0.3) to 10.5154 Å (x = 0.7). The samples are characterized by a porous microstructure with indistinct grain boundaries. Zinc oxide has a sintering effect on ceramics. The charge state of the ions in Bi2ZnxFe1-xTa2O9.5-Δ was investigated by X-ray spectroscopy. NEXAFS and XPS data show that zinc doping does not change the oxidation degree of iron and bismuth ions in pyrochlore. The ions are in the charge states Bi(+3), Fe(+3), Zn(+2). In the Ta4fspectrum, an energy shift of the absorption band towards lower energies by ΔE = 0.5 eV is observed, which is typical for tantalum ions with an effective charge of (+5-δ). With the increase of x(Zn), the Bi 4f7/2 and Bi 4f5/2 bands are observed to shift to lower energies due to the distribution of some Zn(II) ions in the bismuth position.

The formation mechanisms of pyrochlore-type Bi2Co1/2Cr1/2Nb2O9+Δ (space group Fd-3m, a = 10.4838(8) Å), in the temperature range from 400 to 1050 °C were studied by employing X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive spectroscopy. An extensive reaction between the binary metal oxides was found to begin at temperatures above 550 °C, following the transition of monoclinic α-Bi2O3 into a tetragonal β-Bi2O3 polymorph. The synthesis process occurs in several stages when Bi-rich intermediate products (Bi6CrO12, Bi6Cr2O15, and Bi5Nb3O15) transform into bismuth-depleted BiNbO4 and a chromium–cobalt spinel is formed. The formation of a single pyrochlore phase occurs at the final reaction stage at 1050 °C via the doping of bismuth ortho-niobate, BiNbO4, by the transition metal cations. The observed mechanism is essentially similar to the mechanism of tantalate-based phases except for the formation of Bi5Nb3O15 at the intermediate reaction stages.

Microscale residual stress may develop during the manufacturing of Carbon Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) composites and negatively affect apparent macroscale mechanical properties. Accordingly, accurately capturing residual stress may be essential in computational methods used for composite material design. This work presents a new data-driven methodology for the evaluation of microscale residual stress in CFRPs using fiber push-out experiments with in situ scanning electron microscopy (SEM) imaging. SEM images reveal significant through-thickness matrix sink-in deformation in resin-rich areas after nearby fibers are pushed out, which is attributed to the release of microscale process-induced residual stress. The sink-in deformation is measured experimentally, and a Finite Element Model Updating (FEMU) method is used to retrieve the associated residual stress. The finite element (FE) analysis includes simulation of the curing process, test sample machining, and fiber push-out experiment. Significant out-of-plane matrix deformation larger than 1% of the specimen thickness is reported and associated with a high level of residual stress in resin-rich areas. This work emphasizes the importance of in situ data-driven characterization for integrated computational materials engineering (ICME) and material design.

We present a case of cardiomyopathy with a reduced left ventricular ejection fraction of up to 18%, multivessel arterial thrombosis in a patient who had undergone severe COVID-19 3.5 months earlier. The cardiopathy was initially considered as an outcome of SARSCoV2-induced myocarditis, but MRI with delayed gadolinium contrast revealed no fibrosis or evidence of active myocarditis. A detailed collection of the medical history showed that the duration of tachyform atrial fibrillation exceeded the 4 months indicated in the medical records. Oligosymptomatic manifestation of arrhythmia occurred 8 months earlier, the patient did not consult a physician due to epidemic conditions. Coronary angiography revealed subtotal stenosis of the anterior descending artery. Most probably, the cardiopathy was arrhythmogenic and ischemic. After achieving normosystole and coronary stenting, the left ventricular ejection fraction was 25-27%. At the first hospitalization 4 months ago, left atrial auricular thrombus was detected. After COVID-19 the patient received inadequately low dose of apixaban 5 mg per day. Three weeks after COVID-19, the patient was diagnosed with infarction of the right kidney, wall thrombosis in the abdominal aorta, thrombosis of the superficial femoral, deep femoral, popliteal, anterior tibial arteries on the left, right popliteal artery; thrombotic complications could have developed both in situ and as a result of cardioembolism. Administration of dabigatran 300 mg per day and aspirin helped to dissolve the thrombus in the left atrial auricle, improve the course of intermittent claudication, and avoid recurrent thrombotic complications. COVID-19 could contribute to the progression of atherosclerosis, more malignant course of atrial fibrillation, development of thrombosis, but coronavirus infection is not the only cause of severe disease in a patient. СOVID-19 can not only be the cause of direct lesions of the heart and vessels, but also have an indirect negative effect - to delay the detection of cardiac pathology and be the cause of its hypodiagnosis under the mask of “postcovid”.

Rationale. To date, liver transplantation is the most effective method of treating end-stage liver failure, and therefore this treatment has become widespread throughout the world. However, due to the improvement in the quality of transplant care and an increase in the long-term survival of patients, the development of concomitant pathology, which often requires medical treatment, is inevitably associated with a higher life expectancy of liver transplant recipients. Thus, in patients who underwent liver transplantation, there is. a significant increase in the incidence of dyslipidemia. However, a long-term immunosuppressive therapy in organ transplant patients can adversely modify the effect of the prescribed drugs, which requires careful monitoring and consideration of drug interactions.Purpose. Using a clinical example to demonstrate the importance of taking drug interactions into account in the treatment of patients after organ transplantation receiving immunosuppressive drugs.Material and methods. In the presented clinical case, a patient after orthotopic liver transplantation performed in 2005 underwent a staged treatment of cicatricial stricture of choledochal anastomosis in the S.P. Botkin City Clinical Hospital. During the following hospitalization, the patient complained of minor muscle pain when walking. At doctor's visit 3 weeks before hospitalization, a local physician prescribed therapy with atorvastatin 10 mg per day due to an increase in blood plasma cholesterol levels. The patient underwent removal of the self-expanding nitinol stent. During the follow-up examination, the patient had no evidence of an impaired bile outflow, however, muscle pain and weakness progressively increased, the rate of diuresis decreased, and in the biochemical analysis of blood there was an abrupt increase in the concentration of creatinine, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase. Atorvastatin was canceled, a diagnosis of acute non-traumatic rhabdomyolysis was established, treatment with hemodialysis and plasma exchange was started on 03/05/2020. The last session of renal replacement therapy was 03/30/20.Results. With the restoration of the diuresis rate, there was a spontaneous decrease in the level of creatinine to 170 μmol/L. The patient was discharged with satisfactory renal and hepatic function. The pain syndrome completely resolved. Conclusion. Drug interactions between atorvastatin and cyclosporine have resulted in acute rhabdomyolysis with life-threatening consequences. This once again confirms the importance of taking drug interactions into account when managing patients after solid organ transplantation.

Complex mineralogical, geochemical, and geological-structural characteristics of a rare collection stone of violet color, phyolithite, in the southwestern part of the Kola Peninsula. This is a metasomatic rock formed under the conditions of brittle deformations on gabbro-anorthosites of the Paleoproterozoic Kolvitskiy rock mass. As a result of potassium metasomatosis, the plagioclase of the initial rocks was replaced by a fine-grained mica aggregate of muscovite-phengite composition with inclusions of Va-aluminoseladonite (up to 20-30 microns). Ba-aluminoseladonite contains 6.6-10.5 % by weight of BaO. Manganese is the only chromophore that accumulates in the rock during metasomatosis. It is manganese that provides the purple-violet color of pseudomorphs of mica according to anorthite. The phyolithites is depleted by REE and has a positive Eu-anomaly. The phyolithites are confined to the areas of fracturing of the north-eastern strike, located in the zone of dynamic influence of the north-western closure of the Onega-Kandalaksha rift of the Riphean age. Other formations (injection conglomerates and lamproites) are also associated with the formation of this structure, which owe their origin to an intense fluid flow.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are short non-coding RNAs with key roles in cellular regulation. As part of the fifth edition of the Functional Annotation of Mammalian Genome (FANTOM5) project, we created an integrated expression atlas of miRNAs and their promoters by deep-sequencing 492 short RNA (sRNA) libraries, with matching Cap Analysis Gene Expression (CAGE) data, from 396 human and 47 mouse RNA samples. Promoters were identified for 1,357 human and 804 mouse miRNAs and showed strong sequence conservation between species. We also found that primary and mature miRNA expression levels were correlated, allowing us to use the primary miRNA measurements as a proxy for mature miRNA levels in a total of 1,829 human and 1,029 mouse CAGE libraries. We thus provide a broad atlas of miRNA expression and promoters in primary mammalian cells, establishing a foundation for detailed analysis of miRNA expression patterns and transcriptional control regions.

Here the authors present a meta-analysis empowered by a new statistical method covering thousands of ChIP-Seq experiments resulting in the identification of more than 500 thousand allele-specific binding (ASB) events in the human genome.

Objective: to evaluate the effectiveness of vacuum-assisted closure (VAC) therapy in comparison with standard treatments for infected and chronic non-healing wounds after kidney transplantation. Materials and methods. From June 2018 to November 2019, 75 kidney transplants from deceased donors were performed at the Transplantation Ward of Botkin City Clinical Hospital. There were 47 men (62.6%) and 28 women (37.4%). Standard surgical technique was used. Immunosuppressive therapy was carried out according to a three-component scheme with anti-CD25 monoclonal antibody induction (basiliximab) intraoperatively and on day 4. All patients received antibiotic therapy with protected third-generation cephalosporins for 7 days after surgery. Postoperative complications were evaluated according to the Clavien-Dindo classification. Standard methods, including daily dressings using modern dressing materials (group I) and VAC therapy (group II) were used for treating infected and chronic non-healing wounds. Results. 30-day mortality in the postoperative period was zero. Postoperative complications were recorded in 11 patients (14.6%), of which 7 had postoperative wound complications. Group I included 3 patients (1 with a Klebsiella pneumonia-infected wound and 2 with chronic non-healing wounds and no microflora growth). Group 2 had 4 patients (3 with infected wounds (Esherichia coli - 1, Klebsiella pneumonia - 2) and 1 with chronic non-healing wound). Complete cleansing of wound, absence of bacterial growth according to the microbiological examination, and maturation of granulations according to histological examination were considered as the criteria upon which a wound could be sutured in both groups of patients. The average time between the start of treatment and secondary suturing in group 1 patients was 33.11 ± 5.43 (28-37) and 15.01 ± 3.15 (13-17) days in group 1 and group 2 respectively. Conclusion. VAC therapy in patients with wound complications resulting from kidney transplantation, in comparison with standard treatment, can achieve rapid wound cleansing, acute inflammation relief and accelerated maturation of mature granulation tissue, thereby improving treatment outcomes in this category of patients.

This paper is devoted to the study of the structure and thermomechanical properties of PVDF-based ferroelectric polymer film. Transparent electrically conductive ITO coatings are applied to both sides of such a film. In this case, such material acquires additional functional properties due to piezoelectric and pyroelectric effects, forming, in fact, a full-fledged flexible transparent device, which, for example, will emit a sound when an acoustic signal is applied, and under various external influences can generate an electrical signal. The use of such structures is associated with the influence of various external influences on them: thermomechanical loads associated with mechanical deformations and temperature effects during operation, or when applying conductive layers to the film. The article presents structure investigation and its change during high-temperature annealing using IR spectroscopy and comparative results of testing a PVDF film before and after deposition of ITO layers for uniaxial stretching, its dynamic mechanical analysis, DSC, as well as measurements of the transparency and piezoelectric properties of such structure. It is shown that the temperature-time mode of deposition of ITO layers has little effect on the thermal and mechanical properties of PVDF films, taking into account their work in the elastic region, slightly reducing the piezoelectric properties. At the same time, the possibility of chemical interactions at the polymer–ITO interface is shown.

The possibility of high-temperature solid-phase synthesis of Ni-doped bismuth tantalate pyrochlore, not only from the oxide compounds BiTaO4 and NiO but also using nickel chloride NiCl2 as a precursor, was shown for the first time. The concentration range of the formation of nickel pyrochlore Bi2NixTa2O9−δ (0.85 ≤ x ≤ 1.0) at an equal molar ratio of bismuth(III)/tantalum(V) ions was determined. This indicates that the pyrochlore structure may be stable at 20–33% vacant bismuth sublattice. The influence of non-stoichiometric composition relative to bismuth and tantalum, by the example of Bi2±xNiTa2O9−δ and Bi2NiTa2−xO9−δ (x ≤ 0.5) compositions, on the phase composition of ceramics was studied. X-ray powder diffraction phase analysis of Bi2Ni1+yTa1.75−yO9−δ samples made it possible to determine the solubility limit of nickel ions in the tantalum sublattice. It was shown that the molar ratio of metal atoms (Ta, Ni) in the B2O6 (B-Ni(II), Ta(V)) octahedral sublattice of mixed pyrochlores is also limited.

We show that coarse maps between countable metric spaces of bounded geometry induce natural transformations of sufficiently good endofunctors of C^{*}-algebras and prove that this correspondence is invariant with respect to coarse homotopies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Two series of iron-containing solid solutions Bi2Mg1−xFexNb2O9+δ and Bi2MgNb2−2xFe2xO9−δ of pyrochlore structure were obtained by the traditional solid phase synthesis method. The electronic state and character of exchange interactions of iron atoms in solid solutions were investigated by methods of magnetic dilution and NEXAFS-spectroscopy. According to X-ray spectroscopy and magnetic susceptibility data, iron(III) atoms are distributed mainly in octahedral positions of niobium(V) and in a dominant amount are in the charge state of Fe(III) in the form of monomers and exchange-bonded clusters mainly with antiferromagnetic type of exchange. Differences in magnetic behavior of iron-containing solid solutions of both series have been revealed. Antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic exchange can be realized between iron atoms, which, with increasing concentration of paramagnetic atoms and averaging structure distortions, becomes less significant. The parameters of exchange interactions in clusters and distribution of iron paramagnetic atoms depending on the concentration of solid solutions have been calculated.

Relevance. Fixing a cleft alveolar process is one of the most complicated problems in pediatric maxillofacial surgery. The difficulty lies in the fact that bone grafting of the alveolar process directly affects the growth of the upper jaw, the difficulty of performing surgery, as well as trying to form a sufficient amount of bone regenerate, while it is necessary to restore the anatomical integrity of the alveolar process for subsequent orthodontic treatment or dental implantation. Purpose: To review the literature on the use of autografts from various donor areas in patients with congenital cleft upper lip, alveolar process, hard and soft palate. Materials and methods: A literature review of the data was carried out using the electronic databases “Medline”, “Pubmed”, “Kibeleninka”. The key words in the search were: bone plastic, cleft alveolar process. The selection criteria were the articles in English and Russian containing clinical studies on the use of various types of grafts in bone grafting of the alveolar process cleft. Results: The sources of literature on the use of various autografts for bone grafting of the alveolar outgrowth in children with cleft lip and palate were analyzed. Currently, most authors are inclined to use an iliac crest autograft in surgery. Conclusion: Although more than a century has passed since the first alveolar cleft bone graft surgery was performed, the choice of bone material is still unresolved - due to the severity of complications, the impossibility of taking a sufficient amount of bone material, as well as a high percentage of material resorption, because even with the use of iliac crest bone, the volume of transplant resorption can be over 40%.
