PURPOSE: A deep learning artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm has been demonstrated to outperform embryologists in identifying euploid embryos destined to implant with an accuracy of 75.3% (1). Our aim was to evaluate the performance of highly trained embryologists in selecting top quality day 5 euploid blastocysts with and without the aid of a deep learning algorithm. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A non-overlapping series of 200 sets of day 5 euploid embryo images with known implantation outcomes was distributed to 17 highly trained embryologists. One embryo in each set was known to have implanted and one failed implantation. They were asked to select which embryo to transfer from each set. The same 200 sets of embryos, with indication of which embryo in each set had been identified by the algorithm as more likely to implant was then distributed. Chi-squared, t-test, and receiver operating curves were performed to compare the embryologist performeance with and without AI. RESULTS: Fourteen embryologists completed both assessments. Embryologists provided with AI results selected successfully implanted embryos in 73.6% of cases compared to 65.5% for those selected using visual assessments alone (p

Physics ,QC1-999 - Abstract
We present a measurement of the cross sections for the associated production of a W boson with at least one heavy quark jet, b or c, in proton–antiproton collisions. Data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 8.7 fb−1 recorded with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron pp¯ Collider at s=1.96 TeV are used to measure the cross sections differentially as a function of the jet transverse momenta in the range 20 to 150 GeV. These results are compared to calculations of perturbative QCD theory as well as predictions from Monte Carlo generators.

The experience of mental illness can be painful and isolating for those suffering in silence. Early symptoms frequently are confusing and disorienting for individuals and families, and stigma towards mental illness in societies across the globe contributes to further isolation from sources of support during the healing process. The evocative personal stories from a variety of cultures in this symposium provide a window into universal elements of the experience of mental illness, with the accompanying fear, shame, and stigma. The stories effectively illustrate the tension between personal autonomy and reliance on others, and the importance of trust in self and others in forming and maintaining a core identity. The stories also sensitively highlight the importance of resilience and persistence in the healing process, along with the essential role of social relationships and support from family, friends, and healers in building a stable identity and hope for the future.

184. Cross-Cultural Psychiatric Residency Training: The Oregon Experience
- Author
-
Boehnlein, James K., Leung, Paul K., and Kinzie, John David
- Abstract
Objective: The purpose of this article is to describe the goals and structure of cross-cultural psychiatric training at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU). This training in core knowledge, skills, and attitudes of cultural psychiatry over the past three decades has included medical students, residents, and fellows, along with allied mental health personnel. The curriculum includes both didactic sessions devoted to core topics in the field and varied clinical experiences in community settings and the Intercultural Psychiatric Program under the supervision of experienced academic faculty. Methods: The authors review the central elements of the training experiences and include a detailed description of the core clinical settings and experiences. Results: At the conclusion of their clinical experiences, trainees have specialized cross-cultural psychiatric knowledge and skills, including treatment of refugees and immigrants, sociocultural variables that influence the assessment and treatment of a wide range of psychiatric conditions, and comfort with cultural dynamics that influence both the doctor/patient relationship and collaboration with a wide range of mental health professionals. Conclusion: Because of rapid demographic changes in the U.S. population, providing cross-cultural training for students, residents, and fellows is an essential foundation for the education of the next generation of clinicians and health care leaders. OHSU has provided a long-term model for this training in a busy clinical and academic setting that places an emphasis on multidisciplinary and multicultural collaboration.

nondestructive evaluation (NDE) is an analysis technique used to evaluate the properties of a material, component, structure or system without causing damage. In this paper, we introduce a novel mixed reality system for NDE training. In particular, we model and simulate the inspected object and the inspection probe. The operator trainees with the wearable headsets are able to move and zoom the inspected object in a mixed environment, i.e., reality with virtual objects overlaid. In addition, the trainees use their gaze, gesture, and voice to control and interact with the virtual objects within the NDE training session. They can also access the help manual in order to follow the training instruction. The system is successfully operated on HoloLens, the state-of-the-art mixed reality headset. Evaluational results demonstrate that the use of mixed reality training provides significant benefit for the potential technician trainees.

Background Certolizumab pegol (CZP) is an Fc-free, PEGylated anti-tumour necrosis factor biologic. Objectives To report the 3-year efficacy of CZP in plaque psoriasis, pooled from the CIMPASI-1 (NCT02326298) and CIMPASI-2 (NCT02326272) phase III trials. Methods Adults with moderate-to-severe psoriasis for ≥ 6 months were randomized 2 : 2 : 1 to CZP 200 mg, CZP 400 mg or placebo, every 2 weeks (Q2W) for up to 48 weeks. Patients entering the open-label period (weeks 48-144) from double-blinded CZP initially received CZP 200 mg Q2W. Patients not achieving ≥ 50% improvement in Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI 50) at week 16 entered an open-label CZP 400 mg Q2W escape arm (weeks 16-144). Dose adjustments based on PASI response were permitted during open-label treatment. Outcomes included PASI 75, PASI 90 and Physician's Global Assessment (PGA) 0/1 responder rates, based on a logistic regression model (missing data imputed using Markov Chain Monte Carlo methodology). Results In total, 186 patients were randomized to CZP 200 mg Q2W and 175 to CZP 400 mg Q2W. At week 48, PASI 75/90 was achieved by 72·7%/51·3% of patients randomized to CZP 200 mg and 84·4%/62·7% randomized to CZP 400 mg. Patients entering the open-label period at week 48, from blinded treatment, received CZP 200 mg Q2W. At week 144, PASI 75/90 was achieved by 70·6%/48·7% patients randomized to CZP 200 mg and 72·9%/42·7% randomized to CZP 400 mg. At week 16, 72 placebo-randomized patients entered the CZP 400 mg Q2W escape arm; 75.7%/58.5% achieved PASI 75/90 at week 144. Conclusions Both CZP 200 mg and 400 mg Q2W demonstrated sustained, durable efficacy, with numerically higher responses for some outcomes with 400 mg Q2W.

Stalking cases have long presented challenges for the criminal justice system. The end result has been low conviction rates for stalking offenses and frustration for stalking victims. To date, little is known regarding the perspectives of criminal justice and community advocacy agencies in working with stalking perpetrators and victims and how these could inform practice and future research. We conducted interviews with individuals in the different agencies involved in the Cuyahoga County, Ohio criminal justice system and well as the victim service organizations that work with stalking victims in the county. We collected information about their perceptions of stalking victims, what obstacles exist to addressing their needs, what changes are needed to increase the charging and prosecution rates for stalking cases, and how different system players draw distinctions between stalking and domestic violence offenders. Key findings include the significant discrepancy perceived between the public’s view of stalking and actual stalking behavior, the varied views of what constitutes a typical stalking victim, the wide range of needs of stalking victims, the challenges to charging and prosecuting stalking cases, and the burden placed on victims in these cases. We conclude by discussing obstacles that exist for victims seeking help from the criminal justice system for stalking behavior and provide suggestions for education and training that could lead to more effective stalking policy and practice. The study concludes with recommendations for future research on stalking.
