Search

Making a breakthrough in the energy industry is a particularly laborious cross-disciplinary challenge due to the extreme complexity of production systems and the necessity to ensure the compatibility of a huge number of technologies and industrial and managerial systems of various nature. This makes it highly relevant to provide knowledge-intensive support for teams that implement projects aimed at breakthrough transformations. This article describes a specialized science and education platform that is being rolled out by the authors at a number of major energy companies in Russia and at Ural Federal University. The platform has features of a communications platform that brings together science, education, and energy companies, and of a digital ecosystem that serves as a framework for customized services for stakeholders. The platform uses an operation mechanism that is designed to ensure the reproduction of knowledge that is in line with corresponding trends and changes emerging in the global, national, and industrial contexts, and promptly converts it into learning content and a project agenda for breakthrough teams. An original methodology for the training of breakthrough teams and arguments for the appropriateness of using a platform-based approach in order to increase intellectual capital in the energy industry constitute the scientific novelty of the article. This article has a practical value to it as it demonstrates the scaling capability of the elements of the conceptual model, of its operation mechanism, and the best practices of using a science and education platform as the organizational basis for breakthrough projects in the energy sector. Dam construction and streamflow regulation are increasing throughout the world, with impacts in impounded aquatic ecosystems. Hydropower dams, some of them causing a phenomenon called “hydropeaking” during their operation, are known for having a variety of impacts on downstream aquatic biota, particularly fish, and respective habitat. This can result in significant changes, from the community (e.g., fish assemblage structure) to the individual level (e.g., physiological and behavioural adjustments). Researchers and managers involved in the assessment of hydropeaking impacts must be resourceful and use methods that allow their precise evaluation, from large to fine-scale habitat and biological responses. In the last decades, technological advances allowed for the development of techniques and instrumentations that are increasingly being used in hydropeaking impact and mitigation assessments. This paper aims to provide a review, to researchers and managers interested in this field, of some of the most innovative methods and techniques, involving technology, that are available to study hydropeaking effects on downstream ecosystem, particularly from a fish perspective. We discuss the fundamentals behind such techniques, their advantages, and disadvantages, while also providing practical examples of their application and of the type of results that can be obtained. We finish by discussing some of the shortcomings of these methods and how related technology can evolve to solve current limitations.

Peruvian aquaculture is booming, so it deserves to be technified from a sustainable and competitive perspective. The objective of the review was to identify the current panorama of Peruvian aquaculture and the factors that limit its development, as well as to analyze the benefits of the use of technological tools in aquaculture. To this end, a review methodology was applied based on three phases: i) development of the research question; ii) document search; and ii) review and selection of studies. The search engine used was Google Scholar, Scopus, ScienceDirect, Web of Science (WOS), Scielo and Redalyc databases. The review showed that aquaculture in Peru is developed in few regions and with few species. According to PNIPA, the factors limiting its development are related to noncompliance with current sanitary regulations, vessels that are not registered in public registries, and the absence of accreditation controls for artisanal fishermen. Technification of the feeding process reduces operating costs. Sensors make it possible to visualize the variation of parameters in real time, reducing the fish mortality rate. Automatic counting and classification reduces fish stress and avoids economic damage to production. The conclusion is that, in order to achieve aquaculture technification, the government and producers must work together, implementing policies and strategies that guarantee greater profitability and sustainability over time., La acuicultura peruana está en auge, por lo que amerita tecnificarla abordando una perspectiva sostenible y competitiva. El objetivo de la revisión fue identificar el panorama actual de la acuicultura peruana y los factores que limitan su desarrollo; así mismo, analizar los beneficios del uso de herramientas tecnológicas en la acuicultura. Para ello, se aplicó una metodología de revisión basado en tres fases: i) elaboración de la pregunta de investigación; ii) búsqueda de documentos; y ii) revisión y selección de estudios. Se utilizó motor de búsqueda google académico, bases de datos Scopus, ScienceDirect, Web of Science (WOS), Scielo y Redalyc. La revisión permitió afirmar que, la acuicultura en Perú es desarrollada en pocas regiones y con escasas especies. Según PNIPA, los factores que limitan su desarrollo están relacionados al incumplimiento de normas sanitarias vigentes, embarcaciones no inscritas en Registros Públicos y la ausencia de controles de acreditación para pescadores artesanales. La tecnificación en el proceso de alimentación permite reducir costos operativos. Los sensores permiten visualizar la variación de los parámetros en tiempo real reduciendo el índice de mortalidad en los peces. El conteo y clasificación automática reduce el estrés del pez y evita el perjuicio económico de la producción. Se concluye que, para lograr la tecnificación acuícola, se deben realizar trabajos articulados entre gobierno y productores, implantando políticas y estrategias que garanticen mayor rentabilidad y sostenibilidad en el tiempo.

В этом количественном исследовании рассматривается влияние технологических достижений, включая искусственный интеллект, автоматизацию и анализ данных, на эффективность управления предприятием. В исследовании собираются данные из различных организаций и используется статистический анализ для измерения взаимосвязи между внедрением технологий и ключевыми показателями управления. The study collects data from diverse organizations and employs statistical analysis to measure the relationship between technology adoption and key management indicators. The findings reveal that technology integration positively influences productivity, cost reduction, decision-making quality, and strategic advantages. [ES] Actualmente vivimos en una sociedad marcada por los grandes avances tecnológicos que se pueden observar cada vez con más brevedad de tiempo. Es extraño no presenciar cada año mediante los medios de comunicación o redes sociales, la noticia de un nuevo instrumento tecnológico ya sea para el campo de la medicina, la educación o el mismo turismo. Pues bien, el turismo, como uno de los sectores más importantes del mundo debido a la cantidad de dinero que genera no podía quedarse atrás en el aspecto tecnológico, ya que no solo es necesario para el desarrollo de las empresas que pertenecen al sector si no porque los mismos usuarios y turistas lo demandan. Demandan esas tecnologías que se nos han hecho tan y tan normal utilizar en nuestro día a día, demandan un nuevo tipo de experiencias, rapidez y disponibilidad inmediata de la información que desean tener al momento. It is strange not to witness every year through the media or social networks, the news of a new technological tool either for the field of medicine, education or tourism itself. Well, tourism, as one of the most important sectors in the world due to the amount of money it generates, could not be left behind in the technological aspect, since it is not only necessary for the development of the companies that belong to the sector, but also because the users and tourists themselves demand it. They demand those technologies that we have become so normal to use in our daily lives, they demand a new type of experience, speed and immediate availability of the information they want to have at the moment. In short, convenience, which is what new technologies offer at first glance. Therefore, the tourism sector is currently in a transition phase, as are the companies that make it up, which in recent years have undergone a process of reorganization and change in the way they operate. In this sense, our objective is to analyze the impact of new technologies in tourism in the Valencian community, in order to know what advantages and benefits they bring to them.

This article synthesizes recent findings on antecedents of healthy eating. We discuss consumer-related and environment-related forces that influence consumers' healthy food choices and emphasize the duality of these forces so that they can facilitate but also prevent healthy eating. Specifically, our review documents how consumer lay beliefs, goals, and habits shape eating patterns. We further document the impact of environment-related forces on healthy consumption-focusing on intervention strategies and environmental changes (i.e., the trend towards online retail channels). Finally, we discuss three salient tensions (i.e., an innate craving for unhealthy food, a focus on single decisions, and a selective focus on self-control dilemmas) that emerge when taking a holistic view on existing research.

In recent years, with the intensification of the globalization process and the advancement of new technologies, there have been transformations in dynamics and production chains, allowing some authors to affirm the change from an industrial society to a knowledge society (CASTELLS, 1999). It is in this context that the search for the advancement of technology began to foster the capitalist market, causing the competitiveness of companies between different geographical scales (local, regional, national and global). It is in this perspective that technological parks emerge, with the objective of fostering the creation of innovative environments, aiming at the production and dissemination of innovation, whether technologically based, with new products and processes, or marketing and organizational, among others. In Brazil, with programs to encourage innovation and create technology parks, there are currently 103 initiatives (MCTI, 2019), with its concentration in the state of São Paulo. This article aims to understand the spatialization of technological parks in the state of São Paulo, highlighting the role of technical networks, as general production conditions favorable to their implementation, the methodology used in this study was based on bibliographic, documentary research, with data collection at IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) and MCTI (Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovations). En los últimos años, con la intensificación del proceso de globalización y el avance de las nuevas tecnologías, se han producido transformaciones en las dinámicas y cadenas productivas, lo que ha permitido a algunos autores afirmar el cambio de una sociedad industrial a una sociedad del conocimiento (CASTELLS, 1999). Es en este contexto que la búsqueda del avance de la tecnología comenzó a fomentar el mercado capitalista, provocando la competitividad de las empresas entre diferentes escalas geográficas (local, regional, nacional y global). Es en esta perspectiva que surgen los parques tecnológicos, con el objetivo de fomentar la creación de entornos innovadores, orientados a la producción y difusión de la innovación, ya sea de base tecnológica, con nuevos productos y procesos, o de marketing y organización, entre otros. En Brasil, con programas para fomentar la innovación y crear parques tecnológicos, actualmente hay 103 iniciativas (MCTI, 2019), con su concentración en el estado de São Paulo. Este artículo tiene como objetivo comprender la espacialización de los parques tecnológicos en el estado de São Paulo, destacando el papel de las redes técnicas, como condiciones generales de producción favorables para su implementación, la metodología utilizada en este estudio se basó en la investigación bibliográfica, documental, con recolección de datos en IBGE (Instituto Brasileño de Geografía y Estadística) y MCTI (Ministerio de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovaciones). Nos últimos anos, com a intensificação do processo de globalização e o avanço de novas tecnologias, ocorreram transformações nas dinâmicas e cadeias produtivas, permitindo que alguns autores afirmassem a mudança de uma sociedade industrial para sociedade do conhecimento (CASTELLS, 1999). Neste contexto, que a busca pelo avanço da tecnologia passou a fomentar o mercado capitalista, ocasionando na competitividade de empresas entre diferentes escalas geográficas (local, regional, nacional e global). É nesta perspectiva que surgem os parques tecnológicos, com o objetivo de fomentar a criação de ambientes inovadores, visando à produção e difusão da inovação, seja ela de base tecnológica, com novos produtos e processos, ou de marketing e organizacional, entre outras. Objetivo: Este trabalho visa a investigar qual a percepção dos gestores de unidades descentralizadas dos órgãos jurídicos da União acerca dos efeitos decorrentes do deslocamento de suas competências técnicas e organizacionais para os escalões superiores, advindos do processo de desterritorialização, em especial se a medida é adequada para aumentar a eficiência e atingir melhores resultados operacionais. Metodologia: Metodologicamente, trata-se de uma pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa, a partir da realização de oito entrevistas semiestruturadas. Os dados obtidos foram estudados a partir da análise temática da narrativa, destacando-se pontos de interesse da fala, os quais foram reunidos por similitude em sete categorias. Delimitações: O estudo é delimitado aos fenômenos que têm sido verificados na ProcuradoriaGeral da Fazenda Nacional (PGFN), órgão integrante da Advocacia-Geral da União (AGU), com recorte geográfico no Estado do Paraná, onde implementadas medidas pioneiras de desterritorialização e já completada a integração de suas unidades seccionais com a unidade estadual ou integração de algumas atividades com a Procuradoria Regional da 4ª Região (PRFN4). Limitações: Como limitações, ressalta-se o número de participantes, haja vista que os sujeitos se restringiram a procuradores que exercem, ou exerceram, no passado recente, função de chefia de unidades seccionais da PGFN no Estado do Paraná, o que pode não representar o quadro geral dos órgãos jurídicos da União, ou mesmo da PGFN. Resultados: Como resultados, foram identificadas algumas discordâncias e muitas concordâncias sobre o processo de desterritorialização, destacando-se a unanimidade quanto à necessidade da mudança e expectativa de ganho de eficiência do órgão, ainda que as reestruturações operacionalizadas comportem pontos positivos e negativos. Contribuições práticas: A PGFN pode se beneficiar das discussões mobilizadas na investigação, de forma a aprimorar o processo de desterritorialização em curso em diversos estados, a partir das contribuições dos gestores locais. Contribuições para a sociedade: O estudo é importante para a sociedade na medida em que busca subsídios para verificar se processos de reorganização administrativa em curso na Administração Pública, proporcionados pelos avanços tecnológicos, têm impactado positivamente na eficiência da prestação de serviços públicos de interesse difuso. Originalidade: As reflexões realizadas na pesquisa têm caráter de originalidade, haja vista que não foram encontrados estudos que tenham ouvido o entendimento dos gestores de unidades descentralizadas que têm passado por processos de desterritorialização. Trata-se de um fenômeno que tem ocorrido em diversos órgãos da administração federal, de forma abrupta, sob a justificativa de buscar maior eficiência e economicidade. Purpose: This paper aims to investigate the perception of managers of decentralized legal offices of the Union about the effects resulting from the displacement of their technical and organizational competences to the higher echelons, due to the process of deterritorialization, especially if the measure is adequate to increase efficiency and achieve better operating results. Methodology: Methodologically, it is a research with a qualitative approach, based on eight semi-structured interviews. The data obtained were studied from the thematic analysis of the narrative, highlighting points of interest in the speech, which were gathered by similarity into seven categories. Research Delimitations: The study is delimited to the phenomena that have been verified at the Procuradoria Geral da Fazenda Nacional (PGFN), a public agency that is part of the Advocacia Geral da União (AGU), with a geographical cut in the State of Paraná, where pioneering measures of deterritorialization have been implemented, having finished the completed integration of its sectional units with the state or regional units. Research Limitations: The number of participants is a limitation of the study, given that the subject was restricted to heads or former heads of sectional units of the PGFN in the State of Paraná, which may not represent the situation of all legal offices in the country, or even the ones of the PGFN. Findings: The result of the investigation pointed some disagreements and many agreements on the deterritorialization process among the interviewed bosses, highlighting the unanimity regarding the need for change and the expectation of gain in efficiency of the agency, even though the operationalized restructuring has positive and negative sides. Practical Implications: The PGFN can benefit from the discussions mobilized in the investigation, in order to improve the deterritorialization process underway in several states, based on the contributions of local managers. Social Implications: The study is important for society as it seeks subsidies to verify whether administrative reorganization processes underway in the Public Administration, provided by technological advances, have had a positive impact on the efficiency of the provision of public services of diffuse interests. Originality: The reflections carried out in the research have a character of originality, given that no studies were found that have heard the understanding of managers of decentralized units that have gone through processes of deterritorialization. It is a phenomenon that has occurred in several agencies of the Brazilian federal administration, abruptly, under the justification of seeking greater efficiency and economy.

Population growth, even if coupled to economic growth, and resources, were already on a collision course, especially in Africa. The 2019 United Nations World Water Development Report provided a dramatic status of world water, however without questioning the main drivers of an imminent water crisis, that were unbounded, unequal, economic, and population growth, within the context of reducing resources in a finite world. Despite the report was a small step forward in awareness, still, it was not proposing satisfactory remedies. With business-as-usual, without acting on the drivers of water scarcity, regional water crises were inevitable in the next 3 decades, starting from Africa. Constrained by political, financial, and energy burdens, the technological improvements that have helped humanity to deal with the increased demand for water, food, and energy over the last 70 years, were likely not enough to avoid the water crisis. On top of forecast is the Covid19 pandemic. Coronavirus cases are (August 4, 2020) 18,446,065 and fatalities are 697,202 worldwide, and still growing. The containment measures enforced for Covid19 infection following the examples in the United Kingdom have already produced significant damage to the world economy. This will limit social expenditures in general, and the expenditures for the water issue in particular. The water crisis will consequently become worse in the next months, with consequences still difficult to predict. This will be true especially for Africa, where the main problem has always been poverty. There is the opportunity of significant health, food, and water crisis, especially in Africa. While the concepts of washing hands and social distancing that are difficult to apply haven't produce so far major issues with the Covid19 outbreak in Africa, borders closure, restrictions on movement, and more poverty will translate in a lack of food and water potentially much more worrying than the virus spreading.

La presente investigación propone investigar acerca el comportamiento del consumidor de publicidad en redes sociales en específico Instagram para así lograr identificar su percepción, se enfocará en su comportamiento de compra y que tanto influye la publicidad mostrada en esta red social, este trabajo nos permitirá mostrar las acciones que los consumidores suelen tomar a la hora de realizar una compra dado a que gracias al constante cambio a nivel tecnológico podemos evidenciar las tendencias a las cuales estamos expuestos los usuarios, el auge en redes sociales está despertando mayor interés en los usuarios con el pasar del tiempo, la evolución tecnológica, nos lleva a dar respuestas a las necesidades del mercado, por medio de la publicidad las marcas logran llegar a su segmento de clientes, es por ello que es deber de ellas entender el mercado y en específico el hallar la comunicación adecuada y el medio de esta. 1. Purpose of Review Deep brain stimulation (DBS) is an established treatment in several movement disorders, including Parkinson's disease, dystonia, tremor, and Tourette syndrome. In this review, we will review and discuss the most recent findings including but not limited to clinical evidence. Recent Findings New DBS technologies include novel hardware design (electrodes, cables, implanted pulse generators) enabling new stimulation patterns and adaptive DBS which delivers potential stimulation tailored to moment-to-moment changes in the patient's condition. Better understanding of movement disorders pathophysiology and functional anatomy has been pivotal for studying the effects of DBS on the mesencephalic locomotor region, the nucleus basalis of Meynert, the substantia nigra, and the spinal cord. Eventually, neurosurgical practice has improved with more accurate target visualization or combined targeting. A rising research domain emphasizes bridging neuromodulation and neuroprotection. Recent advances in DBS therapy bring more possibilities to effectively treat people with movement disorders. Future research would focus on improving adaptive DBS, leading more clinical trials on novel targets, and exploring neuromodulation effects on neuroprotection.

La seguridad y el uso de tecnologías es fundamental para mejorar los procesos de gestión que hacen parte de la seguridad nacional y de civiles, razón por la cual hoy en dia es fundamental estar a la vanguardia especialmente cuando se trata de salvaguardar la integridad física por el uso de explosivos. De acuerdo con lo anterior el objetivo del presente ensayo se enfoca en un análisis de revisión documental acerca del uso del escáner manual para detección de explosivos en autos. Se concluye que el uso de dispositivos electrónicos de punta todavía no se usa de forma efectiva en Colombia por lo que deben utilizarse para mejorar los procesos de seguridad incluyendo la innovación en esta área de trabajo.
