This essay examines the concept of the gaze and its relation to the political. Through the analysis of the filial relation between father and son in Emili Teixidor's novel and the film of Agustí Villaronga, Pa negre (2003 and 2010, respectively), the essay studies the question of heritage and legacy in the context of the inoperativity of the contemporary politics of memory. The essay grounds its critical perspective in the thought of cultural theorists in regard to aesthetics, the politics of the gaze, and the symptom. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper is aimed at studying the psychological demand in the primary health care centers of La Plata city hall and their relationship with the therapeutic strategies. Some questions about the introducing way of the symptom in this contemporary time have emerged and led us to review the discussion on the so-called "new symptoms" within the psychoanalytic field. Thus, a problem arises from an empirical finding: a notorious increase of the psychological demand in the public sphere both in the municipality health centers and the psychopathology and mental health offices of the hospitals. From the bibliographical exegesis and the case-histories analysis some issues on the care provision are pointed out as they involve unselected and diverse consultations. In this sense, some of the answers the psychoanalysis has offered to its social practice will be studied and thereby make us wonder on the necessary twists to set a device that regards the institution policies but keeping the ethics and theoretical-clinical grounds of the psychoanalysis itself. We can only situate the singularity that the psychoanalytic practice demands if we inquire on and displace the generalizations. A practice that should regard the history-case as unique. Fue un error de Freud considerar que la religión desaparecería con el desarrollo del saber científico, sin embargo, sus propios descubrimientos, la pulsión y el inconsciente, suponen que un proceso de objetivación no se puede fundar a sí mismo. La religión forma parte de los oscuros anhelos irreductibles del sujeto de la alteración pulsional, es decir, de la angustia. El problema de la religión no es, pues, un problema gnoseológico sino ético. El intento kantiano de ligar la ley moral a la unidad de los fines fue, quizás, un intento delirante de fundar la religión, aunque estableció como principio irreversible que la ley moral es la que funda la religión y no al revés. Eso mismo puede permitir pensar al sujeto afectado por la angustia como sujeto del síntoma y, así, la religión pasaría a ser, desde esta perspectiva, un modo sintomático de sentir la culpa y la responsabilidad. La experiencia religiosa sería en suma una experiencia de tipo ético, no una teología dogmática ni una ideología teocrática. Nacería del fondo pulsional de la insatisfacción y de la angustia.

This is the experience of an art therapy workshop conducted in a Day Care Center for Children of Aldeas Infantiles SOS Granada. The title, play with trick, tries to refer to the conclusion of one of the participants in the workshop, which spontaneously arrived to the conclusion of the "trick" of art therapy: which is the result of the personal reflection that has to be discovered by themselfs with implicit learning.

Resumen: Este artículo se acerca a la experiencia de malestar que se elabora en la obra de Chantal Maillard y que podríamos reconocer (tal es nuestra propuesta) como una “experiencia del vacío”. A través del análisis de sus obras (poéticas, diarios, ensayos, etc.), y del apoyo en textos de teoría psicoanalítica y filosofía política, llegamos a la conclusión de que solo a partir de la elaboración de dicha experiencia (en la que el vacío no es taponado ni colmado) esta puede ser leída como una experiencia de “cualquiera” y, por tanto, de algún modo, como una experiencia “común”. Abstract: This paper approaches the experience of unease in Chantal Maillard’s work, which we could identify as an “experience of emptiness”. Through the analysis of her works (poems, diaries, essays, etc.), and also through a theoretical frame based on a psychoanalytic and a philosophical approach, we will conclude that it is only through the working out of this experience (in which emptiness cannot be blocked or even fullfilled), that it can be understood as an “anyone’s experience”, and therefore as a “common” experience. Origins and destinations of the superego in the work of Freud: the first topicResumen El presente texto hace parte de una revisión que abarca la extensión de la obra freudiana y que tiene como objetivo establecer las condiciones de aparición del concepto de superyó. La presente investigación forma parte de una investigación de mayores proporciones en la que se diseña un modelo sistémico aplicado principalmente en los trastornos de pánico. La “ecuación de resistencia al cambio” (ERC) es la sinergia entre cuatro factores: el grado de intensidad de los síntomas o problemas, la frecuencia de aparición, la cantidad de síntomas o problemas satélites que los conforman y por último, el tiempo de aparición. La ERC tiene como objetivo pronosticar el grado de resistencia al cambio del paciente desde la primera entrevista, como también explicar el efecto recaída y la compulsión a la repetición y, de esta manera, adecuar las estrategias y las intervenciones de manera más efectiva. Se desarrollará el aval teórico de la ecuación sobre el pivote de cuatro variables: cognitivas, interaccionales, emocionales y neurofi siológicas, y como ejemplo de su aplicación se mostrará sobre 30 casos en especifi cidad de trastornos de ansiedad en pánico con y sin agorafobia y fobias sociales. En este sentido, la propuesta es aplicar la ecuación a los problemas humanos en general.

Starting of a retrospective look about the Venezuela's drift toward totalitarism as political system, the author starts asking himself about the psycosocial characteristics, which define it. For the convenience angle of psychoanalysis he questions if autoritarism it is a symptom or a structure. If it is a symptom it is a trade between desires with anguish balance or a structure, a discursive conjunct relatively hard to change. By using others countries examples he proposes that psychoanalysis only can be practise in the framework of Democracy and Human Rights respect. However, in those countries were totalitarism insists as a form of government there are some consequences in the practice, training and ways of association between analysts which are remarkable. From the beginning of Psychoanalysis, Freud was in charge of organizing the field of his clinic considering the form of presentation of the symptom and its relation with that which determines it. However, at present the field of Psychopathology includes the so-called "new symptoms", those that in close relation with specific aspects of the contemporary culture, would frequently present with epidemic character. Historical-cultural conditioning and its impact on the changes in the formal envelope of the symptom will be addressed, as well as the importance of presenting the so-called "new symptoms" that for some authors are presented as epidemic and for Stevens (2001) To be considered naked by the absence of formal envelopment and the predominance of manifestations of pure enjoyment. We refer to disturbances as anorexia, bulimia, self-mutilations, etc. In this way, there are terms that try to establish a truth that seeks satisfaction for the subject. So we ask ourselves about the dress that the symptom acquires in the contemporary age, that is to say, these demands would be inserted in the presentations of the so-called "new symptoms"?, and if this is the case with new forms of symptoms, what would contribute as a novelty to the field of the clinic? Introduction: Acute stress disorder (ASD) encompasses a set of symptoms that can arise in individuals after exposure to a traumatic event. This study assessed the defense mechanisms used by victims of physical trauma who developed ASD. Method: This was a controlled cross-sectional study of 146 patients who suffered physical trauma and required hospitalization. A structured questionnaire was used to evaluate ASD symptoms based on DSM-5 diagnostic criteria, in addition to the Defense Style Questionnaire (DSQ). Results: Ten participants (6.85%) received a positive diagnosis of ASD, and 136, (93.15%) a negative diagnosis. The majority of the sample consisted of men with median age ranging from 33.50 to 35.50. The most prevalent defense mechanisms among the 10 patients with ASD were cancellation and devaluation, which belong to the neurotic and immature factors, respectively. Positive associations between the presence of symptoms from criterion B of the DSM-5 and defense mechanisms from the DSQ were found. These included the mechanisms of undoing, projection, passive aggression, acting out, autistic fantasy, displacement, and somatization. Conclusion: Patients with ASD employed different defense mechanisms such as undoing and devaluation when compared to patients not diagnosed with ASD. These results mark the importance of early detection of ASD symptoms at a preventative level, thereby creating new possibilities for avoiding exacerbations related to the trauma, which represents an important advance in terms of public health. This article provides a construction of the case of James Joyce as a clinical case by making a review of the guidelines that Lacan emphasized in 1975-1976. Methodologically it's based on the autobiographical work about childhood and adolescence and offers a reading of the original constellation of birth, the foundational position of the subjective orientation, the effects of rejection and the singular pathos that afflicted him: the words imposed or experience of parasite language. This study aims to identify confluences between psychoanalysis and studies on language presented in Austrian philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein's work. In order to do so, one starts from the construction of the notion of symptom, its definition in the medical and psychiatric fields, until its demarcation in the psychoanalytical field, where the symptom is only defined by its relation to the discursive practices of the subject. When introducing the concept of language-game, Wittgenstein emphasizes the pragmatic aspect of language: the rules of use established in a particular context give meaning to a linguistic expression. If, to psychoanalysis, the symptom implies a symbolic articulation, it is in the relationship between signifiers, proper to the language game, that possibilities of signification of the subject himself are established. Cet article présente une réflexion sur l'étiologie et le traitement de la douleur chronique dans le cadre théorique de la psychanalyse et discute de la réduction de la douleur chronique à une manifestation contemporaine de l'hystérie. Considérant que le symptôme est un singulier mode de jouissance et un moyen pour l'inscription du sujet dans le lien social, ce texte met en évidence la fonction de la douleur, en conformité avec les particularités de chaque cas.

Os manuais de classificação e diagnóstico são bastante objetivos ao descreverem a etiologia, o diagnóstico diferencial e o tratamento para todos aqueles que padecem dos chamados transtornos alimentares. Todavia, se a Medicina, como área do saber científico, deve generalizar, a psicanálise tem como campo de pesquisa o inconsciente, o sujeito como efeito de linguagem. Com isso, a partir de observações sobre as entrevistas preliminares de um caso, no qual se evidenciava o sintoma bulímico, o presente artigo coloca em relevo algumas questões: as especificidades do sintoma para a psicanálise, a diferença radical entre instinto e pulsão e a particularidade da produção de saber em psicanálise.

From the celestial to the cyberspatial sphere and from imaginary beings to self-constructed online personas, symptom constellations are representing our ‘way of being’. Using this as a vaulting point, Angeliki Malakasioti is taking symptom representation a step further, towards the reasons of manifestation, towards observation and refection on the phenomena of digital experience. Her research is a diagnostic experiment and at the same time a theoretical as well as an artistic body of work that comments on the mental qualities of the cyborg when inhabiting cyberspace. Aspects of the digital self are discussed and its symptoms are interpreted into spatial qualities; into imaginary semi-living beings and intimate non-spaces.

Esta pesquisa analisa o olhar de dez alunos do último ano do curso de psicologia da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo sobre um filme publicitário de uma marca de analgésico e a experiência particular de cada um referente à automedicação. Percebe-se que há uma reflexão sobre a automedicação no contexto social, porém quando se referem ao próprio uso do remédio, não demonstram buscar uma compreensão psicológica da dor. Pode-se constatar que, embora sejam formandos em Psicologia, eles tratam a própria dor como um desconforto orgânico e não como um sintoma de ordem psíquica.

As noções de sintoma e fenômeno ocupam um lugar central na tradição da psicopatologia fenomenológica. Este artigo tem como objetivo discutir estas noções no pensamento de Arthur Tatossian. Elas contribuem para a construção de um modelo de psicopatologia e de clínica fenomenológica que prioriza a experiência. A liberdade do sujeito é considerada em uma dialética entre autonomia e heteronomia. Modos de assistência regidos sobre a noção heideggeriana de cuidado são desenvolvidos.

O tratamento de crianças foi possível quando o infantil começou a galgar seu espaço na clínica psicanalítica. Freud inaugurou essa possibilidade, seguido por Anna Freud e Melanie Klein, que clivaram o sintoma em duas compreensões distintas. Assim, revisam-se as concepções históricas do sintoma entrelaçado à questão contemporânea deste como uma desordem, noção que sustenta o paradigma da medicalização e produz, cada vez mais cedo, números altíssimos de crianças utilizando psicofármacos. Problematizamos, assim, as contribuições da psicanálise para essa compreensão hodierna que implica amordaçamento e exílio do sujeito de seu próprio adoecimento.

Este escrito trata de ser un aporte más a los estudios que han tratado la relación entre Heidegger y Freud. Apoyándose en otras lecturas ―J. Derrida, J. Alemán y S. Larriera― sondearemos algunos momentos de convocación mutua que, quizás, por un exceso de cercanía, no se pudieron percibir como tales. Del mismo modo trataremos de mostrar como Freud se inserta en la Modernidad a través de su peculiar concepción de síntoma como Kompromißbildung, un abordaje del fenómeno patológico que no puede desligarse de la temporalidad y el sentido en su génesis. De este modo también Freud concibe al sujeto ―sin abordarlo temáticamente― en una unión inextricable de tres factores: la afectividad, la comprensión y el lenguaje.

A doctoral research activity approached the problem of the relationship between work and mental health from ergological notions of use of oneself and symptom of psychoanalysis. In this thesis I present a reading of the symptom as use of oneself seeking recognize both the social causes of symptoms (the use of oneself by others) as the action strategy on this same determination (in the use of oneself by oneself their ever-present). What I advocate in this thesis is that a clinical course of the relationship between work and mental health at the same psychoanalytic and ergological time, can happen by listening to the use that each individual makes of himself with his symptom, what is at stake in every activity (work). The embarrassment I seek worked in this essay is, in this view takes in some way, the historical chain of activities in my life? As these activities have led me to this research question and why paths sought the answers? This is what I will try to explain not questioning the neutrality of the research object and how it fits on a specific personal journey. ___ Numa atividade de pesquisa do doutorado, abordei o problema da relação entre trabalho e saúde mental a partir das noções ergológica de “uso de si” e psicanalítica de “sintoma”. Na tese, apresentei uma leitura do sintoma como uso de si buscando reconhecer tanto a determinação social dos sintomas (o uso de si pelos outros) quanto a estratégia de ação sobre essa mesma determinação (no uso de si por si, sempre presente). O que defendo na tese é que uma condução clínica da relação entre trabalho e saúde mental, ao mesmo tempo psicanalítica e ergológica, pode se dar pela escuta do uso que cada sujeito faz de si com seu sintoma, o que está em jogo em toda atividade (trabalho). O embaraço que busco, trabalhado neste ensaio, é: no que essa tese retoma, de alguma forma, o encadeamento histórico das atividades realizadas durante minha vida? Como essas atividades me levaram a tal questão de pesquisa e por que caminhos busquei as respostas? É o que tentarei explicitar problematizando a não neutralidade do objeto da pesquisa e o modo como ele se inscreve em um percurso pessoal específico.

O artigo apresenta elementos de uma pesquisa sobre as incidências da depressão em crianças, elegendo como eixos de investigação os conceitos psicanalíticos de sintoma e inibição. A pergunta que orienta o trabalho é: há uma relação entre a posição depressiva e a inibição proveniente do período de latência? Se há, em que termos essa relação pode ser pensada e quais as consequências paraa direção do tratamento? A partir de uma pesquisa bibliográfica ancorada no referencial psicanalítico, trabalharemos fundamentalmente a partir das formulações de Freud e Lacan, seguindo, no que tange especificamente à depressão, as elaborações de Mauro Mendes Dias, Irene Kuperwajs, Maria Rita Kehl e Astréa da Gama e Silva. Os resultados apontam que os conceitos de sintoma e inibição ampliam o saber acerca da posição depressiva, permitindo reflexões sobre o manejo e a direção do tratamento em tais casos. À guisa de conclusão, evidencia-se a relevância da distinção entre sintoma, inibição e angústia, na medida em que inibição e angústia dizem respeito ao processo de constituição psíquica, podendo ser tomados como testemunhos de uma mudança de posição subjetiva.

This article analyzes the various discursive positions found in the phenomenon of addiction. The relations these discursive positions establish with the discourses of the master, the hysteric, the university and the capitalist are discussed. By analyzing material from clinical listening at a public outpatient drug and alcohol rehab center, it was seen that addiction can be described in different discourses. This article shows that the shift of focus from the symptom to the discursive position of the subject is an indicator for the clinical treatment of addiction.

Neste artigo discute-se a avaliação diagnóstica de crianças com Transtorno de Déficit de Atenção e Hiperatividade. O discurso médico aponta a etiologia desse quadro como endógena e orgânica e, para efeito de diagnóstico, utiliza os critérios descritivos do DSM IV. A partir de um Estudo de Caso e, mediante a apresentação de fundamentos teóricos da psicanálise, o texto aqui apresentado propõe que o TDA/H é uma problemática nas funções da atenção, linguagem e motricidade, as quais estão articuladas e dependem da posição subjetiva do sujeito. Nessa visão, o TDA/H pode ser pensado como um sintoma que se endereça, como uma mensagem, ao Outro.

Este artigo aborda o sintoma fóbico segundo a psicanálise. Busca-se circunscrever como a sexualidade opera na formação do sintoma fóbico, entre os efeitos imaginários do amor e os campos do gozo e do desejo. Com a premissa de que o falo simboliza uma falta irredutível, a fobia é considerada uma resposta do sujeito entrincheirado entre o amor em fuga e o encontro com o gozo. O caso Hans permitirá situar a fobia como resposta à dissimetria amorosa e ao acossamento pulsional.

Pretendo, neste artigo, abordar um caso de Binswanger privilegiado por Merleau-Ponty. Nesse caso, o filósofo desenvolve a questão do estatuto do sintoma como uma forma de elaboração de vida, mas chega num impasse: como pensar essa elaboração sem que isso nos leve a negar que o sujeito se reestrutura totalmente diante de um impasse? Além do que, o que significa dizer que o sujeito elabora uma nova forma de vida? Veremos como a análise merleau-pontyana da psicanálise é peculiar, levando-o a negar um conceito chave da metapsicologia freudiana: o inconsciente.

Frente às novas técnicas de manipulação dos corpos propiciadas pelo desenvolvimento da ciência e da tecnologia na contemporaneidade, este artigo discute as relações entre corpo, sexualidade e sintoma, a partir das contribuições da psicanálise. Discute-se, em especial, o fenômeno do transexualismo tal como vem sendo abordado atualmente, em virtude da adoção de procedimentos na área da saúde pública que visam atender à demanda de mudança de sexo por meio de técnicas hormonocirúrgicas.

El desorden que se ha ido produciendo a través del tiempo, en la nomenclatura y la clasificación de las enfermedades es considerado, a nivel internacional, un problema crónico que debería resolverse. De otro lado, diagnosticar no consiste solamente en dar un nombre convencional a la enfermedad que afecta a un paciente, y tampoco solamente en diferenciarla de otras similares. En este artículo, se presenta una propuesta para mejorar la nomenclatura, la clasificación y el diagnóstico de las enfermedades, teniendo en cuenta sus síntomas y signos, síndromes, y factores determinantes.(Rev Med Hered 2011; 22: 89-92).

Los objetivos de este trabajo fueron, determinar la prevalencia de bruxismo en niños preescolares de colegios privados de AsunciónParaguay utilizando un cuestionario de autocumplimiento aplicado a los padres, en una muestra de 432 niños. Con un estudio de casos y controles se estableció la asociación entre el bruxismo y las características Psicomotoras antes y durante el sueño. Con la inspección clínica se determinó la presencia y el grado de asociación de los dolores de cabeza, dolores musculares (Maseteros –Temporales) y desgastes dentarios. La prevalencia fue de 41% siendo el bruxismo nocturno el más prevalente 38%, siendo altamente significativo los resultados con respecto a “movimiento durante el sueño” p< 0,000001, “sueño interrumpido” p= 0,0001,”dificultad para iniciar el sueño”p= 0,001. El signo con mayor asociación fue el desgaste dentario de grado 1 y 2 en dientes anteriores y posteriores, siendo el más significativo el de grado 2 en el sector anterior, p

El objetivo de este trabajo es establecer la particular construcción de la significación en las psicosis y sus diferencias con la significación en las neurosis. Se toman como referencia algunas de las elaboraciones freudianas acerca de la represión y la proyección. Modalidades actuales del diagnóstico diferencial neurosis/psicosis desatienden el anudamiento preciso de la significación en los síntomas.This paper aims to ground the peculiar process of signification in psychosis and to make a distinction between this and the signification in neurosis. The reference is the elaboration of S. Freud about the different mechanisms of repression and projection. Some present ways to carry out a differential diagnosis between psychosis and neurosis don't pay attention to the tight articulation of signification in symptoms.

O tema em questão é a violência em sua face de excesso no contexto contemporâneo. O objetivo deste artigo é investigar a relação entre violência e sintoma na atualidade com o aporte da psicanálise de orientação lacaniana. Nosso estudo nos permitiu aproximar a violência dos chamados novos sintomas. Procuramos mostrar como o excesso implicado nos imperativos de gozo é característico do discurso capitalista em sua relação com o discurso da ciência; assim, verificamos como tais discursos podem produzir violência. Nossa conclusão é de que a psicanálise pode levar um sujeito a questionar a violência e construir um saber sobre o que o causa.
