This Activities is based on the previous analyzes about the performance of teachers in understanding geometry concepts. These results reveal facts about the difficulty of teachers in understanding and teaching geometry conceptually. Based on these findings, the aims of these activities were of deepening understanding of concepts and training teachers to teach geometry conceptually. This activity is focused on five sub-activities, namely: a) refreshment of geometrical concepts; b) repaired teacher’s misconceptions about geometry; c) reinforcement of teachers' understanding of the concept of geometry; d) enrichment; and e) the making and practice of using instructional media to overcome the difficulties of teachers in teaching conceptual geometry to their students conceptually. This activity went well, seen from the presence of the teachers to participate in activities that exceeded the initial target and based on the questionnaire distributed, 88.5% of participants stated that they were satisfied with this activity.

The study analyzed information utilization among cowpea marketers in Jalingo Local Government Area of Taraba State, Nigeria. A purposive sampling technique was used to select Five (5) out of 10 wards in the study area. A sample size of 64 marketers was randomly selected in the selected wards. Primary data were collected through the use of structured questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage and mean) and inferential statistics (Cobb Douglas regression). The result obtained showed that 68.75% of the cowpea marketers were males, while 48.44% were between the ages of 36 and 45 years. It also reveals that 46.87% had non-formal education while 40.63% had household size of between 6 and 10 persons, 77.69% were married and 54.69% and had income ranges from N101,000 – N150,000. The result obtained showed that the sources of information from friends constitute 50% (mean of 2.56) of the respondents while for the extent of information utilization among the respondents the findings reveal that the information highly utilized by cowpea marketers include price (x = 2.63), available market (2.56) and transportation (x = 2.53). Lastly, all the variables were significant at P≤0.05 level except household size (X4). It was recommended that, adequate relevant market information should be provided to enable them increase their production so as to earn more profit. Government and the marketers should collaborate together to ensure availability of transportation network so as to improve marketing efficiency.

The study analyzed the price fluctuation of cereals in Maiduguri Metropolis of Borno State, Nigeria. The data were collected through the use of questionnaire administered to 120 respondents. Frequency distribution and percentages were used to analyze the data. The results of the study showed that 70.8% of the cereal marketers were male while 29.2% were female. The percentage of the marketers that were married was 6.6%, while 35% were single. The family size analysis revealed that 50% of the marketers had family size above 10 persons and 16.7% less than five. Findings on the source of initial capital outlay showed that 50% got their initial capital from friends and 20.8% from personal saving. The result also showed that 75% of the marketers were retailers and 25% were wholesaler. On the analysis of causes of price variation, the result revealed that annual variability in production and speculative activities of middlemen were indicated by 58.3% each of the respondents, while poor storage of cereal had 16.7%. It indicated that sorghum had degree of price fluctuation of 9.8% while millet had 8.6%. Analysis of the effect of price fluctuation showed that inflation was indicated by 62.5% of the respondent, while high cost of labour had 16.7%. About 54% of the marketers had their commodities for future sale at the time of harvest in order to cope with price fluctuation, while 20.8% used contract sale to processors and manufacturers as their coping strategies against price fluctuation. It was recommended that women should be supported financially by the government and private organizations through the administration of soft loans and other credit facilities. Also, farmers and marketers should be educated through the extension agents to adopt new methods of cereal production in order to increase the supply of cereal to meet up with the demand.

Interactants pass across different messages to each other during social interactions – some of which may be intentional while some may be inadvertent. However, when interlocutors of different cultural background, different social status and unequal power relations are conversing especially with a sort of veiled hostility between them, then, it is not unlikely that they will show contempt for each other using both verbal and non-verbal means of communication. It is on the basis of the above assertion that the paper examines various ways through which characters express contempt for each other when interacting using Osofisan's play – Tegonni as the source of our data. The paper makes use of insight from Conversation Analysis in analyzing the data. Among others, the authors discovered that interactants can exhibit contempt for each other in discourse through deliberate using of inappropriate lexical items to refer to each other; refusal to answer questions at the first instance, refusal to apologize for something being accused of and through non-verbal means which have been explained in the work.

Tannases are enzymes that catalyze the production of gallic acid which is a versatile precursor of various chemicals used in food and pharmaceutical industries. This work is aimed at isolation and production of tannase from soil fungi. Moulds were isolated from soil samples that were collected from different sites in Ibadan Metropolis. Isolated fungi were screened on plate for tannase production. The best sets of fungi were selected to produce tannases under solid state fermentation using various substrates. Twenty (20) out of forty-two (42) isolated fungi were able to produce tannase. Isolates FR6, IAR15 and BG4 recorded highest zone of hydrolysis (20, 17 and 16 mm) on Tannic acid agar and were identified as Aspergillus japonicus, Aspergillus tamarii and Neosartorya fumigata respectively using their macroscopic and microscopic properties. Among different used substrates, highest production of tannase was observed when wheat bran (8.72 U/mL) was used as substrate which was followed by Moringa seed (7.90 U/mL). There was higher production of tannase by selected isolates when grown in used substrate (Wheat and Moringa seed) alone than when supplemented with tannic acid. Of all used carbon sources, Fructose and Maltose supported best production of tannase by the three fungi. NaNO3 was the best nitrogen source among all the nitrogen sources used with the yield of 15.88 U/mL by Aspergillus japonicus. Optimum production of tannase was either recorded at pH 6.0 or 6.5 with selected isolates. Aspergillus japonicus had a considerable higher production than other two selected fungi. Best production of tannase is achieved with 1% of fructose as carbon source, 1% of NaNO3 as nitrogen and Wheat bran as substrate at pH of 6.5.

Antimicrobial activity of different herbal extracts in different regions of the worlds has been established as a panacea to the advancement of effective chemotherapy against resistant bacteria. Seed extracts of turmeric as one of the antibacterial agents has been examined to this effect. Turmeric (Curcuma Longa, Linn), is one of the most useful herbal medicinal plants owing to its biological active component Curcuminoids, which are natural phenols. Turmeric has shown to be effective as anti- inflammatory, anti-oxidant, antifungal, antiulcer, and anticancer, thus has a potential against various malignant diseases such as, diabetes, allergies, arthritis, Alzheimer’s disease and other chronic diseases. This study examined the antibacterial activity of turmeric seed againstStreptococcus speciesandEscherichia coliisolated from urine samples of patients. The antibacterial activities of aqueous and ethanolic extracts of dried and fresh turmeric seed was tested on the organisms using standard bacteriological technique. The zone of inhibition was more significant on the ethanolic extract of the fresh seeds and at a higher concentration (15g – 80ml and 20g – 100ml) on both organisms. Also, on both organisms, the result obtained revealed resistance of isolates to the aqueous extracts of the dried seed with heavy and moderate growth. In conclusion, the results obtained from the turmeric extracts shown considerable antimicrobial activity againstStreptococcusspecies andEscherichia coliand can be used as a broad spectrum natural antimicrobial alternative for treating Urinary Tracts infections.

Background Trans-esophageal aortic blood flow occlusion (TEABO) is an emerging technology undergoing laboratory research that offers a strategy for temporary hemorrhage control. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the anatomical relationship between the esophagus and descending thoracic aorta in two breeds of swine to support a porcine model for future TEABO investigations. Methods Thoracoabdominal CT scans were compared in Hanford miniature swine and Yorkshire swine. Measurements were taken at the five vertebral levels proximal to the gastroesophageal junction. Data collected included the distance between the center of the esophagus and the center of the descending aorta, the angle between the vertebral column, descending aorta, and esophagus, and the length the thoracic esophagus travels anteriorly to the descending aorta. Results Ten Hanford swine and ten Yorkshire swine were compared. In Hanford swine, the distal thoracic esophagus travels anteriorly to the descending aorta for a mean distance of 11.5 ± 2.3 cm. In Yorkshire swine, the thoracic esophagus travels to the right of the descending aorta. Among the major modules in digital building blocks system, multiplier is the most complex one and main source of power dissipation. Approximate Computing to multiplier design plays major role in electronic applications, like multimedia by providing fastest result even though it possesses low reliability. In this paper, a design approach of 16 bit Wallace Tree approximate multiplier with 15-4 compressor is considered to provide more reliability. The 16×16 Wallace tree multiplier is synthesized and simulated using Xilinx ISE14.5 software. The multiplier occupies about 15% of total coverage area. The dissipated power and delay of the multiplier are 0.042μw, 3.125ns respectively.

In view of wireless communications, the perception of evolving technologies and opportunities in the Internet of Things (IoT) is basically wireless connectivity. The double hull of the oil tanker is more critical on the fender load because the wing tank was void at the full load condition. The strength evaluation of the side hull oil tanker based on fender load using two variables. Scenario A shows that the hull structure was safe based on the fender load. Scenario B shows that the side plate and longitudinal structure were damaged. PIANC needs to review the allowable strength of the pressure of the fender load on the ship with the tank.

The effects of Buchholzia coriacea seed on the nutrient utilization and biochemical parameters in alloxan-induced diabetic rat were evaluated. Buchholzia coriacea (BC) seed was washed, sliced, dried, pulverized and mixed with standard ration at 2.5%, 5%, 10% and 20%. The proximate nutrient composition of the standard and prepared rations was determined. The Buchholzia coriacea incorporated rations and standard ration were fed to alloxan-induced diabetic rats for 70 consecutive days. The nutrient utilization and biochemical parameters as well as the histopathology of pancreas of the treated rats were evaluated. The Buchholzia coriacea at 2.5% inclusion rate significantly (p < 0.05) improved the nutrient utilization and biochemical parameters that were compromised in diabetic rats fed with standard ration alone. The B. coriacea also reversed the pancreatic islet damage induced by alloxan. Buchholzia coriacea have potent antidiabetic and hypolipidemic activities and should not be incorporation in excess of 5% in the diet.

Indonesia mulai memantapkan diri untuk menerapkan prinsip-prinsip demokrasi konstitusional modern. Setiap undang-undang yang dinilai melanggar Undang Undang Dasar 1945 pasca amandemen dapat dibawa ke Mahkamah Konstitusi untuk diuji konstitusionalitasnya (constitutional review) oleh hakim konsitusi. Pelem- bagaan mekanisme pengujian undang-undang (judicial review) yang dilakukan oleh Mahkamah Konstitusi merupakan salah satu wujud dari adanya pemurnian atau purifikasi sistem pemerintahan presidensial di Indonesia setelah dilakukannya empat kali (1999-2002) perubahan Undang-Undang Dasar 1945. Mahkamah Konstitusi tiga kewenangannya, yaitu memutus pengujian undang-undang atas Undang-Undang Dasar 1945, sengketa kewenangan lembaga negara, dan perselisihan hasil pemilihan umum dan kemudian termasuk pula perselisihan pemilihan kepala daerah menyusul diberikannya kewenangan memutus sengketa pemilihan kepala daerah kepada Mahkamah Kons- titusi. Keberadaan Mahkamah Konstitusi dengan kewenangannya menguji konstitusionalitas un- dang-undang telah memberi akses bagi warga negara Indonesia untuk memperjuang-kan hak-hak konstitusional mereka.
