At 14:46 local time on March 11, 2011, a magnitude 9.0 earthquake occurred off the coast of northeast Japan. This earthquake caused a tsunami which attacked Japan as well as a wide range of localities around the Pacific Ocean. The degree and extent of damage caused by the earthquake and resulting tsunami were enormous, with most of the damage being caused by the Tsunami. After that, hydrodynamic force of Tsunami acting on bridge studied both numerically and experimentally. However, design codes are not established. In this report, we focus on relationship between Tsunami force and flotsam. At first, the canal for experiment was surveyed by level and vertical measurement. Next, we conducted fluid velocity by experiment using some flotsams, and considered relationship between retreated value and water level.
