Das Konzept der Ökosystemleistungen hat großes Potenzial, Natur- und Artenschutz in der breiten gesellschaftlichen Debatte stärker zu verankern. Es verdeutlicht als Bewertungsrahmen den Nutzen von Naturleistungen im weitesten Sinne und wird bezüglich seiner Reichweite und seiner notwendigen Operationalisierung für die räumliche Planung intensiv diskutiert. Im Sinne einer Integration in die gesellschaftliche Debatte um einen nachhaltigen Umgang mit natürlichen Ressourcen ist das Konzept daher in den Kanon der Bildungsangebote einzubeziehen - über die 'klassischen' Angebote und Themen der Umweltbildung hinaus. Der vorliegende Beitrag zeigt exemplarisch auf, wie das Konzept in der schulischen Bildung (am Beispiel des Freistaates Sachsen), der Hochschulbildung in ausgewählten Fachbereichen in Deutschland und in der Fortbildungslandschaft für Planungspraktiker (in Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz) vermittelt wird und wo Ansätze und Defizite für eine künftige zielführende Operationalisierung des Konzeptes liegen. Der Fokus liegt explizit auf der Umweltbildung und der Bereitstellung von Bildungsangeboten für Akteure der räumlichen Planung und spiegelt die aktuelle Angebotslandschaft in den genannten Bereichen. The concept of ecosystem services has great potential to anchor nature conservation and species protection more firmly in a broader social debate. As an assessment framework, it illustrates the benefits of natural services in the broadest sense and is the subject of intense debate with regard to its scope and the operationalization required for spatial planning. In the sense of an integration into the social debate about the sustainable use of natural resources, the concept should be included in the canon of educational offers - beyond the "classical" offers and topics of environmental education. This paper exemplifies how the concept is taught in school education (using the example of the Federal State of Saxony, Germany), and in higher education in selected subject areas in Germany as well as in the further education landscape for planning practitioners (in Germany, Austria and Switzerland). The paper shows approaches and deficits for a future goal-oriented operationalization of the concept. The focus is explicitly on environmental education and the provision of educational offers for actors in spatial planning, and reflects the current landscape of educational offers in the mentioned fields.

This study takes Tianjin as an example to analyze how to build the manufacturing industry chain ecosystem. Based on the ecosystem theory, the related literature of manufacturing industry chain and value chain, and combined with various action plans for the development of manufacturing industry in Tianjin, the structure chart and construction roadmap of industrial chain ecosystem were drawn. Based on the input–output data of 42 sectors in Tianjin, this study calculated and analyzed the changes in embedment degree of various manufacturing industries in Global Value Chain (GVC) and National Value Chain (NVC) in Tianjin from 2010 to 2017. It is found that the industrial chain ecosystem is mainly composed of four elements: the enterprises on the industrial chain, the information flowing among enterprises, the goods circulating among enterprises, and the external environment of enterprises. The connection of supply and demand chains, enterprise chains, space chains and value chains forms an industrial chain, and the value chain is a crucial relationship chain in the connection mechanism. In addition, 2015 is a turning point for Tianjin manufacturing industry to embed in GVC and NVC, mainly due to the industrial economic adjustment in Tianjin, the global economic turmoil, and the establishment of the manufacturing industrial park. In terms of R&D intensity, high and medium high-tech manufacturing industries tend to be embedded in GVC, but are easily affected by enterprises and environmental factors. However, low and medium low-tech manufacturing industries still have ample space to integrate into GVC, information and products are important factors to determine the upgrading of its industrial chain. Therefore, in order to better construct the industrial chain ecosystem of manufacturing industry and enhance the industrial competitiveness of Tianjin’s manufacturing industry, it is necessary to give priority to the development of high-tech manufacturing industry, expand the international openness of low-tech manufacturing industry, support regional advantageous industries, and carry out dynamic regulation of industrial ecology.

Seit November 2022 werden durch das Institut für Kriminologie an der Universität Hamburg (UHH) und das German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA) alle zwei Monate in Deutschland geschichtete Stichproben von etwa 2500 Erwachsenen online befragt. Ziel dieser Studie "Menschen in Deutschland International" (MiDInt) ist es, Meinungen der Bevölkerung zu international bedeutsamen Geschehnissen zu erfassen und deren Einflüsse auf politische Einstellungen der Menschen in Deutschland zu untersuchen. In der ersten Welle von MiDInt wurden im November 2022 insgesamt N=2 429 Personen erreicht. Bei diesen wurden u.a. Einstellungen zum Klimawandel erhoben und Meinungen zur 27. Weltklimakonferenz thematisiert, die vom 6. bis 20. November 2022 in Scharm El-Sheikh (Ägypten) stattfand. Im Ergebnis zeigte sich eine große Besorgnis der Menschen in Deutschland wegen der Klimakrise. Die weit überwiegende Mehrheit befürwortete die mit der 27. Weltklimakonferenz 2022 verfolgten Ziele. Bei etwa einem Fünftel der Befragten war allerdings eine Leugnung des Klimawandels sowie eine deutliche Skepsis bezüglich der wissenschaftlichen Befunde zur Klimakrise festzustellen.

In Zusammenarbeit mit dem Leibniz-Institut für Globale und Regionale Studien (GIGA) führt das Institut für Kriminologie (Fakultät für Rechtswissenschaft der UHH) seit November 2022 unter der Bezeichnung "Menschen in Deutschland: International" (MiDInt) im Abstand von zwei bis drei Monaten Umfragen bei nach Alter, Geschlecht, Bildung und regionaler Herkunft geschichteten, repräsentativen Stichproben von jeweils etwa 2500 erwachsenen Personen durch (vgl. https://doi.org/10.25592/uhhfdm.11564). Thema der ersten Welle von MiDInt im November 2022 waren unter anderem Sorgen der Befragten mit Blick auf den Klimawandel und Meinungen zu der damals stattfindenden Weltklimakonferenz (vgl. dazu MOTRA-Spotlight 01/23: https://doi.org/10.57671/motra-2023001). In der zweiten Welle, im Februar 2023, wurden neben Besorgnissen wegen des Klimawandels auch Ansichten zu spezifischen Maßnahmen zum Klimaschutz erhoben (für Erhebungsinstrument und Stichprobe vgl. https://doi.org/10.25592/uhhfdm.11836 ).

Collective monograph contains the results of scientific research devoted to the search for effective scientific and applied solutions for the operation of logistics systems. The problems posed are considered through the prism of technological and economic views, which contributes to the formation of the practical significance of the results of systematic research, which are highlighted in the monograph. Section 1 examines which multimodal logistics solutions in emergency situations and transport security threats have proven effective during the war in Ukraine. The given transport and logistics solutions can be considered promising from the point of view of integrative capabilities at a new level of transport competitiveness and defense capability. In Section 2, practical measures are proposed to improve logistics solutions in transport and customs services in international traffic to ensure the efficiency and reliability of the national economy. In Section 3, the impact of information provision of truck crews performing transport tasks on road traffic is investigated, and an effective scheme for information support of cargo delivery conditions is developed. In Section 4, solutions are proposed for evaluating the effectiveness of the ecological system project using the "discounted payback period" criterion, which takes into account transformational changes in its life cycle model. In Section 5, solutions are proposed that allow for a reasonable selection of the composition of consumers and partners for each enterprise, taking into account their characteristics and strategies of information interaction, ensuring an increase in the efficiency of the "consumer - enterprise - partner" system based on the criterion of profit maximization. The monograph is intended for practitioners who are engaged in the search and implementation of effective technological solutions in the field of logistics, in particular according to economic criteria, and scientists who investigate applied problems of the functioning of logistics systems.The monograph can also be useful to postgraduate and master's students of universities in the relevant educational and scientific profile.

The issue of evaluating the effectiveness of the ecological system project using the "discoun­ted payback period" criterion, which takes into account transformational changes in its life cycle model, is considered. The specific peculiarities of the life cycle of the ecological system project were studied, in which it is proposed to include, in addition to the generally accepted pre-investment, investment and ope­rational phases, ecologically oriented phases. Regenerative and revitalization phases are conside­red to be ecologically oriented, that is, during which actions aimed at reducing the eco-destructive impact of the ecological system on the environment are performed. In the regenerative phase, an ecological product is created, which includes a complex of logistics services for the promotion of reverse recycling-utilization and related flows. The revitalization phase should end with the revival of the ecosystem damaged as a result of the creation and functioning of the ecological system. The phases of the life cycle are divided into stages, between which serial and parallel connections are established. The life cycle of the project is divided into time intervals during which from one to three stages of different phases of the project can proceed in parallel. A model of the life cycle of the ecological system project was developed, which shows the relationships between time intervals and cash flows corresponding to the phases of the project life cycle. A mathematical formula for calculating the discounted life of the project is proposed, which takes into account the specific features of the formation of cash flows of individual phases of the life cycle of the ecological system project. The application of the formula is possible when the assumption of constancy of cash flows of the stages of operational and regenerative phases is fulfilled, which corresponds to the impossibility of their exact forecast at the beginning of the project. Functional dependencies between the discounted payback period and cash flows during the phases of the project's life cycle were studied. Depending on the phase of the life cycle, the dependence is expressed as a linear, polynomial or power function. The detection of functional dependencies allows to study the dynamics of changes in the discounted payback period in response to changes in the project's cash flows, which can be used to predict the effectiveness of the ecological system project. In order to take into account the uncertainty of the conditions for the implementation of the ecological system project, an approach based on the use of the tools of fuzzy set theory is proposed.

The levels of physicochemical properties of Mini Whuo Stream in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria was evaluated. The physicochemical parameters were analyzed using standard conventional procedures. The average values recorded for the physicochemical parameters during the months of investigation were in the range; temperature; 30.00±0.42-30.26±0.83oC, with all-round mean of 30.14±0.47oC, pH; 6.22±0.33-6.42±0.25 (6.29±0.29), electrical conductivity; 146.01±74.04-147.26±75.13µS/cm (146.58±74.69 µS/cm), total alkalinity; 61.63±6.37-62.20±6.41mg/L (61.91±6.41 mg/L), sulphates; 109.67±51.34-110.67±51.88mg/L (110.22±51.81 mg/L), nitrates; 12.20±2.38-12.60±2.86mg/L (12.31±2.65 mg/L), turbidity; 49.32±1.49-50.18±2.02 NTU(49.83±1.55 NTU), TDS; 74.20±36.43-75.61±37.50 mg/L (75.00±36.81 mg/L), TSS; 27.14±2.12-28.37±0.78mg/L (27.64±1.89 mg/L), chlorides; 15.17±2.90-15.66±2.70mg/L (15.34±2.65 mg/L) and salinity; 24.36±4.83-24.82±4.97mg/L (24.66±4.78 mg/L). The evaluation of the physicochemical parameters showed that the Mini Whuo Stream has been contaminated due to human activities within the stream and therefore adequate measures should be taken to forestall the present situation of the stream in order to mitigate any possible increase in deterioration of the studied physicochemical parameters in the stream beyond acceptable limit.

O presente trabalho estuda como a rápida, extensa e densa expansão urbana de Beirute no século XX, tendo como base as grandes infraestruturas rodoviárias e a densificação dos espaços, levou à falta de espaços abertos e verdes na cidade. Neste processo e forma de urbanização, em que expansão e densificação tinham como principal objectivo a maximização dos lucros, a zona costeira do porto e o rio, que constituem as áreas ecológicas mais aptas a serem espaços verdes essenciais, foram edificadas e transformados em corredores rodoviários. Assim, rio e o porto, que na história de Beirute sempre foram espaços geográficos de identidade local e motores de desenvolvimento nacional e local, foram progressivamente sendo constituídos como espaços abandonados, poluídos, vazios de habitantes. A proposta de projeto considera o enorme potencial destes espaços na estrutura ecológica da cidade e afirma a sua reabilitação como essencial no desenho de uma estrutura verde ao nível metropolitano. Devido à escala territorial do porto e rio e à matriz dos tecidos que abrange, a conceção projetual parte de uma leitura transversal entre as disciplinas da paisagem e urbanismo e o desenho do mesmo cruza elementos de cariz natural, rural e urbano. A rede hidrológica do rio é a “força” que serve o projeto como estrutura organizadora do conjunto dos tecidos de matriz natural, rural e urbana. Só ela permite a criação de um programa para uma rede de espaço verdes abertos num continuum ecológico com a cidade. The present work seeks to understand the fast urban expansion of Beirut in the twentieth century. This urban environment is compounded by extensive infrastructure, high construction density and a lack of city park s. In this process of urbanization the objective was to maximize profits of the real estate market and ignore the ecological potential of the river and the coast, spaces occupied by highways and infrastructure buildings instead of city parks or squares. In the past, Beirut’s river and coast have always been local of national identity and space of economic progress, but slowly these urban environments became abandoned, polluted and without inhabitants. The project tries to explore the enormous potential of this ecological system in Beirut and proposes its rehabilitation as essential and as part of the metropolitan structure. The territory scale and the multiple city layers guided the project methodology to the relationship between landscaping and urbanism, rural and urban, local and global issues, past and future issues. Beirut’s watershed (hydrographic network) is the main guide and organizes the different types of urban, rural and natural forms. This process allows the creation of a system network of open spaces and city parks in harmony with the ecological system.
