Dry UMCA(Ultrasonic Mechanical Coating and Armouring)is a deposition coating technology that only needs to be carried out under normal temperature and pressure, and its principle is similar to mechanical alloying.Although the UMCA process is still in the preliminary exploration stage in the world, it has shown great potential in coating preparation due to its unique advantages.The experiment method of UMCA was introduced and the influence laws of process parameters on coating quality was summarized.It was found that the influence laws of different material combinations had both similarities and differences.And the reasons for the difference were mainly analyzed from the perspective of energy.Besides, the possible formation mechanism of the coating was analyzed in a broad sense.Finally, the problems to be solved urgently and the development direction of UMCA process were put forward.

Reconstruction‐engineered electrocatalysts with enriched high active Ni species for urea oxidation reaction (UOR) have recently become promising candidates for energy conversion. However, to inhibit the over‐oxidation of urea brought by the high valence state of Ni, tremendous efforts are devoted to obtaining low‐value products of nitrogen gas to avoid toxic nitrite formation, undesirably causing inefficient utilization of the nitrogen cycle. Herein, we proposed a mediation engineering strategy to significantly boost high‐value nitrite formation to help close a loop for the employment of a nitrogen economy. Specifically, platinum‐loaded nickel phosphides (Pt‐Ni2P) catalysts exhibit a promising nitrite production rate (0.82 mol kWh−1 cm−2), high stability over 66 h of Zn‐urea‐air battery operation, and 135 h of co‐production of nitrite and hydrogen under 200 mA cm−2 in a zero‐gap membrane electrode assembly (MEA) system. The in situ spectroscopic characterizations and computational calculations demonstrated that the urea oxidation kinetics is facilitated by enriched dynamic Ni3+ active sites, thus augmenting the "cyanate" UOR pathway. Long non‐coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play an important role in the progression of gastric cancer (GC), but its specific regulatory mechanism remains to be further studied. We previously identified that lncRNA B3GALT5‐AS1 was upregulated in GC serum. Here, we investigated the functions and molecular mechanisms of B3GALT5‐AS1 in GC tumorigenesis. qRT‐PCR was used to detect B3GALT5‐AS1 expression in GC. EdU, CCK‐8, and colony assays were utilized to assess the proliferation ability of B3GAL5‐AS1, and transwell, tube formation assay were used to assess the invasion and metastasis ability. Mechanically, FISH and nuclear plasmolysis PCR identified the subcellular localization of B3GALT5‐AS1. RIP and CHIP assays were used to analyse the regulation of B3GALT5‐AS1 and B3GALT5. We observed that B3GALT5‐AS1 was highly expressed in GC, and silencing B3GALT5‐AS1 could inhibit the proliferation, invasion, and migratory capacities of GC. Additionally, B3GALT5‐AS1 was bound to WDR5 and modulated the expression of B3GALT5 via regulating the ZEB1/β‐catenin pathway. High‐expressed B3AGLT5‐AS1 promoted GC tumorigenesis and regulated B3GALT5 expression via recruiting WDR5. Our study is expected to provide a new idea for clinical diagnosis and treatment. AbstractAs an energy-efficient transportation innovation, hybrid vehicles (HVs) have the potential to minimize carbon emissions and address environmental issues. The study is novel as it presents significant theoretical contributions within the theory of planned behavior (TPB) framework. Firstly, it integrates the perceived seriousness of environmental problems as a predictor, enhancing understanding of individual responses to environmental concerns. Secondly, it expands the TPB model by introducing willingness to pay for HVs as a moderator, acknowledging the economic aspect of adopting environmentally friendly technologies. These additions enrich the TPB framework, offering insights into the interplay between psychological determinants and economic considerations in behavior change. The study therefore aims to extend the TPB by incorporating two key elements: perceived seriousness of environmental issues and willingness to pay for HVs. We find that perceived seriousness of problems in the environmental has positive impact on attitude toward adoption of HVs, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, intentions to adopt and actual use of HVs. TPB constructs have positive impact on intentions to adopt and actually use HVs. Moreover, intentions to adopt HVs also positively influence the actual use of HVs. Moreover, the results show that the serial mediations are also in play, whereby perceived seriousness of environmental issues influences TPB constructs, which influence intentions to adopt HV which in turn influence the actual use of HVs. Introduction: The elderly population experiences more postoperative complications. A comprehensive geriatric assessment, which is multidimensional and coordinated, could help reduce these unfavorable outcomes. However, its effectiveness is still uncertain. Methods: We searched multiple online databases, including Medline, PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Embase, CINAL, ProQuest, and Wiley, for relevant literature from their inception to October 2023. We included randomized trials of individuals aged 65 and older undergoing surgery. These trials compared comprehensive geriatric assessment with usual surgical care and reported on postoperative outcomes. Two researchers independently screened the literature, extracted data, and assessed the certainty of evidence from the identified articles. We conducted a meta-analysis using RevMan 5.3 to calculate the Odds Ratio (OR) and Mean Difference (MD) of the pooled data. Results: The study included 1325 individuals from seven randomized trials. Comprehensive geriatric assessment reduced the rate of postoperative delirium (28.5% vs. 37.0%; OR: 0.63; CI: 0.47–0.85; I2: 54%; P = 0.003) based on pooled data. However, it did not significantly improve other parameters such as length of stay (MD: -0.36; 95% CI: -0.376, 3.05; I2: 96%; P = 0.84), readmission rate (18.6% vs. 15.4%; OR: 1.26; CI: 0.86–1.84; I2: 0%; P = 0.24), and ADL function (MD: -0.24; 95% CI: -1.27, 0.19; I2: 0%; P = 0.64). Conclusions: Apart from reducing delirium, it is still unclear whether comprehensive geriatric assessment improves other postoperative outcomes. Hierarchical porous structures and well-modulated interfacial interactions are essential for the performance of electrode materials. The energy storage performance can be promoted by regulating the diffusion behavior of the electrolyte and constructing a coupled interaction at heterogeneous interfaces. Herein, we have synthesized ultrathin NiO nanosheets anchored to nitrogen-doped hierarchical porous carbon (NiO/N-HPC) and applied it to construct aqueous potassium ion hybrid capacitors (APIHCs). The abundant and interconnected porous architecture promotes electrolyte penetration/diffusion and shortens the ion transport path, thereby accelerating storage reaction kinetics. The nitrogen-doped carbon support can achieve optimized metal oxides–carbon interaction and enhance the adsorption ability for the electrolyte ions, leading to earning higher storage capacity. Consequently, the prepared NiO/N-HPC exhibits a superior capacitance of 126.4 F g−1 at a current density of 0.5 A g−1, and the as-fabricated NiO/N-HPC//N-HPC APIHC achieves an ultra-high capacitance retention of 91.6% over 8000 cycles at a current density of 2 A g−1. Introduction: Artemisia argyi Folium (AAF) is a traditional medicinal herb and edible plant. Analyzing the differential metabolites that affect the efficacy of AAF with different aging years is necessary. Objective: The aim of the study was to investigate the changing trend and differential markers of volatile and nonvolatile metabolites of AAF from different aging years, which are necessary for application in clinical medicine. Methodology: Metabolites were analyzed using a widely targeted metabolomic approach based on ultrahigh‐performance liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC‐MS/MS) and gas chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (GC‐MS). Results: A total of 153 volatile metabolites and 159 nonvolatile metabolites were identified. Principal component analysis (PCA) and orthogonal partial least squares discriminant analysis (OPLS‐DA) could clearly distinguish AAF aged for 1 year (AF‐1), 3 years (AF‐3), and 5 years (AF‐5). Seven flavonoids and nine terpenoids were identified as biomarkers for tracking the aging years. Conclusions: The metabolomic method provided an effective strategy for tracking and identifying biomarkers of AAF from different aging years. This study laid the foundation for analysis of the biological activity of Artemisia argyi with different aging years. The effect of ozone treatment on the degradation of two Alternaria mycotoxins, alternariol (AOH) and alternariol monomethyl ether (AME), in both aqueous solution and orange juice was investigated. In addition, the quality of orange juice after ozone treatment was evaluated. The results demonstrated that ozone treatment effectively eliminated AOH and AME. In an aqueous solution, AOH exhibited a reduction of 57.95%, while AME decreased by 40.24% after 5 s treatment. And the two toxins could be almost completely degraded within 40 s. Moreover, an alkaline condition with a pH value of 10 facilitated complete degradation within just 15 s of treatment. Furthermore, higher temperatures may enhance the degradation percentage. Regarding orange juice, the degradation percentages of AOH and AME after ozone treatment for 600 s were recorded as 51.86% and 49.04%, respectively, which were comparatively lower than those observed in aqueous solution. The toxin degradation increased with longer treatment times and higher flow rates, but decreased with the initial concentration of mycotoxins. Meanwhile, the results of the quality evaluation showed that the color and browning index (BI) of orange juice did not change significantly, while the pH value was reduced. Additionally, the clarification, antioxidant properties, and stability of orange juice were significantly improved after ozone treatment. In conclusion, ozone treatment is an effective approach for degrading Alternaria mycotoxins while also improving certain quality parameters within a given treatment time frame. Therefore, it can be considered a promising non‐thermal alternative technology for removing Alternaria mycotoxins from food systems. Practical applications: The Alternaria fungus has the capacity to infect a wide range of crops, with infections occurring during various stages such as planting, transportation, and processing. Ozone technology has been extensively utilized in drinking water treatment, wheat flour treatment, wastewater treatment, aquaculture, and medical industries. However, current methods for controlling mycotoxins fail to meet industry demands for high removal rates, environmental friendliness, efficiency, and convenience as well as low‐cost maintenance required to preserve the sensory quality and nutritional value of food products. Therefore, there is an urgent need to explore novel approaches that can effectively address these challenges in practical production settings. Furthermore, the parameter optimization of specific technologies within the food sector remains underdeveloped and requires further research. In this context, ozone technology holds promise for controlling Alternaria mycotoxins degradation in orange juice while offering valuable insights into toxin degradation within the beverage industry. Abstract Background AK098656 may be an adverse factor for coronary heart disease (CHD), especially in patients with hypertension. This study aimed to analyze the effect of AK098656 on CHD and CHD with various complications. Methods A total of 117 CHD patients and 27 healthy control subjects were enrolled in the study. Plasma AK098656 expression was determined using the quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. Student’s t-test was used to compare AK098656 expression levels in different groups. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve and area under the curve (AUC) were used to quantify the discrimination ability between CHD patients and health controls and between CHD and CHD + complications patients. The relationship between AK098656 and coronary stenosis was analyzed using Spearman’s correlation. Results AK098656 expression was remarkably higher in CHD patients than in healthy controls (P = 0.03). The ROC curve revealed an effective predictive AK098656 expression value for CHD risk, with an AUC of 0.656 (95% CI 0.501–0.809). Moreover, AK098656 expression was increased in CHD + complications patients compared to CHD patients alone (P = 0.005), especially in patients with hypertension (CHD + hHTN, P = 0.030). The ROC curve revealed a predictive AK098656 prognostic value for discriminating between CHD and CHD + hHTN patients, with an AUC of 0.666 (95% CI 0.528–0.805). There was no significant difference in AK098656 expression in CHD patients with diabetes mellitus compared to CHD patients alone. In addition, AK098656 expression in CHD patients was positively correlated with stenosis severity (R = 0.261, P = 0.006). Conclusion AK098656 expression was significantly increased in patients with CHD, especially those with hypertension, and its expression level was positively correlated with the degree of coronary stenosis. This implied that AK098656 may be a risk factor for CHD and can potentially be applied in clinical diagnosis or provide a novel target for treatment.

Abstract Background Evidence suggests gut microbiome is associated with diabetes. However, it’s unclear whether the association remains in non-diabetic participants. A Chinese monozygotic twin study, in which the participants are without diabetes, and are not taking any medications, was conducted to explore the potential association. Methods Nine pairs of adult monozygotic twins were enrolled and divided into two twin-pair groups (a and b). Clinical and laboratory measurements were conducted. Visceral adipose tissue (VAT) was assessed. Fecal samples were collected to analyze the microbiome composition by 16S rDNA gene amplicon sequencing. Liquid chromatography mass spectrometry was performed to detect the metabolites. Results The participants aged 53 years old averagely, with 8 (88.9%) pairs were women. All the participants were obese with VAT higher than 100 cm2 (152.2 ± 31.6). There was no significant difference of VAT between the twin groups (153.6 ± 30.4 cm2 vs. 150.8 ± 29.5 cm2, p = 0.54). Other clinical measurements, including BMI, lipid profiles, fasting insulin and blood glucose, were also not significantly different between groups (p ≥ 0.056), whereas HbA1c level of group a is significantly higher than group b (5.8 ± 0.3% vs. 5.6 ± 0.2%, p = 0.008). The number and richness of OTUs are relatively higher in group a, and 13 metabolites were significantly different between two groups. Furthermore, several of the 13 metabolites could be significantly linked to special taxons. The potential pathway involved drug metabolism-other enzymes, Tryptophan metabolism and Citrate cycle. Conclusions Gut microbiome composition and their metabolites may modulate glucose metabolism in obese adults without diabetes, through Tryptophan metabolism, Citrate cycle and other pathways.

The tumor suppressor TP53 is the most frequently mutated gene in human cancers. Mutant p53 (mutp53) proteins often accumulate to very high levels in human cancers to promote cancer progression through the gain-of-function (GOF) mechanism. Currently, the mechanism underlying mutp53 accumulation and GOF is incompletely understood. Here, we identified TRIM21 as a critical E3 ubiquitin ligase of mutp53 by screening for specific mutp53- interacting proteins. TRIM21 directly interacted with mutp53 but not WT p53, resulting in ubiquitination and degradation of mutp53 to suppress mutp53 GOF in tumorigenesis. TRIM21 deficiency in cancer cells promoted mutp53 accumulation and GOF in tumorigenesis. Compared with [p53.sup.R172H] knockin mice, which displayed mutp53 accumulation specifically in tumors but not normal tissues, TRIM21 deletion in [p53.sup.R172H] knockin mice resulted in mutp53 accumulation in normal tissues, an earlier tumor onset, and a shortened life span of mice. Furthermore, TRIM21 was frequently downregulated in some human cancers, including colorectal and breast cancers, and low TRIM21 expression was associated with poor prognosis in patients with cancers carrying mutp53. Pulsed signal trains comprising clicks, buzzes, and burst-pulses play important roles in the life activities of odontocetes, but they have not been distinguished in Indo-Pacific humpback dolphins. Underwater vocalizations of this species were recorded from 27 September to 2 October 2019 in the Beibu Gulf, South China Sea. Pulsed signal trains were detected with variations in the pulsed signal number (range of 6–76), mean inter-pulse interval (IPIs_m: 0.1–315 ms), and mean duration (D ranged from tens to thousands of milliseconds). Principal component analysis and hierarchical cluster analysis based on six acoustic parameters in the pulsed signal trains identified three categories of trains designated as clicks, burst-pulses, and buzzes. Buzzes and burst-pulses (different from those described in previous research) were detected for the first time in Indo-Pacific humpback dolphins in China. The results indicated that the IPIs_m was longest for clicks but shortest for buzzes, and the D values were longer for both clicks and burst-pulses than buzzes. The three train types could be identified based on the IPIs_m, with threshold values of 4.9 and 15.5 ms. The significant variations in the three vocalization types were related to surface behaviors, and buzzes could have a special function in foraging by this species, thereby requiring further research. These findings may facilitate future quantitative evaluations of the echolocation performance in wild Indo-Pacific humpback dolphins and provide important guidance regarding acoustic observations and the identification of this species.

The impact of the annual solar eclipse, starting on 21st June 2020, attributable to surface ozone concentration (O3) has been investigated in this study. To estimate the influence of the solar eclipse on O3 better, the variations of one reaction precursor of ozone production [nitrogen dioxide (NO2)], coupled with the meteorological factors (including Total Solar Irradiance (TSI), Temperature (T), and Relative Humidity (RH)), were analyzed in Yunnan Province, China. The results show observed O3 decreases from the beginning of the eclipse, reaching its minimum value when the eclipse left Yunnan province. During the period of the solar eclipse, the O3 decrease lasted for 20 h with a reduction of more than 40%. The reduction of TSI lasted for 5 h with a maximum at -90%. Simultaneously, the temperature decreased but the relative humidity increased during the reduction in solar radiation. O3 exhibits a significantly positive correlation with temperature and a negative correlation with relative humidity. However, NO2 did not show a clear response with changes lasting for 4 h. O3 and NO2 show a negative correlation. The influence of CO on O3 is minor except for Kunming. Thus, O3 in seriously polluted cities is more sensitive to NO2 and CO during the eclipse, such as in Kunming.

The class III phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K) Vps34 (also known as PIK3C3 in mammals) produces phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate [PI(3)P] on both early and late endosome membranes to control membrane dynamics. We used Vps34-deficient cells to delineate whether Vps34 has additional roles in endocytic trafficking. In Vps34-/- mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs), transferrin recycling and EEA1 membrane localization were unaffected despite elevated Rab5-GTP levels. Strikingly, a large increase in Rab7-GTP levels, an accumulation of enlarged late endosomes, and decreased EGFR degradation were observed in Vps34-deficient cells. The hyperactivation of Rab7 in Vps34-deficient cells stemmed from the failure to recruit the Rab7 GTPase-activating protein (GAP) Armus (also known as TBC1D2), which binds to PI(3)P, to late endosomes. Protein-lipid overlay and liposome-binding assays reveal that the putative pleckstrin homology (PH) domain in Armus can directly bind to PI(3)P. Elevated Rab7-GTP led to the failure of intraluminal vesicle (ILV) formation and lysosomal maturation. Rab7 silencing and Armus overexpression alleviated the vacuolization seen in Vps34-deficient cells. Taken together, these results demonstrate that Vps34 has a previously unknown role in regulating Rab7 activity and late endosomal trafficking.

The possibility of accomplishing sustainable objectives is largely connected to the management and flourishing of an organizational system which keeps human capital engaged and committed. Our study investigated the association of inspirational leadership and innovative communication with employee engagement and commitment under the lens of leader member exchange theory. Specifically, we emphasized the mediating role of mutual trust in connection to social sustainability facets. A survey of data from employees in the manufacturing sector of Yunnan, China was utilized to test the hypothesized model. The study findings reported a significant association and came to the conclusion that a leader’s inspirational behavior coupled with innovative communication is a significant predictor of engagement and commitment in socially sustainable organizations. Moreover, mutual trust significantly mediated the relationship of innovative communication and inspirational leadership with employee engagement and commitment reaching the social perspective of sustainability. The current study added to the literature of sustainable organization by pointing out the social dimensions of sustainability.

The objective of this study was to apply a machine learning method to evaluate the risk factors associated with serious adverse events (SAEs) and predict the occurrence of SAEs in cancer inpatients using antineoplastic drugs. A retrospective review of the medical records of 499 patients diagnosed with cancer admitted between January 1 and December 31, 2017, was performed. First, the Global Trigger Tool (GTT) was used to actively monitor adverse drug events (ADEs) and SAEs caused by antineoplastic drugs and take the number of positive triggers as an intermediate variable. Subsequently, risk factors with statistical significance were selected by univariate analysis and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) analysis. Finally, using the risk factors after the LASSO analysis as covariates, a nomogram based on a logistic model, extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost), categorical boosting (CatBoost), adaptive boosting (AdaBoost), light-gradient-boosting machine (LightGBM), random forest (RF), gradient-boosting decision tree (GBDT), decision tree (DT), and ensemble model based on seven algorithms were used to establish the prediction models. A series of indicators such as the area under the ROC curve (AUROC) and the area under the PR curve (AUPR) was used to evaluate the model performance. A total of 94 SAE patients were identified in our samples. Risk factors of SAEs were the number of triggers, length of stay, age, number of combined drugs, ADEs occurred in previous chemotherapy, and sex. In the test cohort, a nomogram based on the logistic model owns the AUROC of 0.799 and owns the AUPR of 0.527. The GBDT has the best predicting abilities (AUROC = 0.832 and AUPR = 0.557) among the eight machine learning models and was better than the nomogram and was chosen to establish the prediction webpage. This study provides a novel method to accurately predict SAE occurrence in cancer inpatients.

Due to rapid development of high-throughput sequencing and biotechnology, it has brought new opportunities and challenges in developing efficient computational methods for exploring personalized genomics data of cancer patients. Because of the high-dimension and small sample size characteristics of these personalized genomics data, it is difficult for excavating effective information by using traditional statistical methods. In the past few years, network control methods have been proposed to solve networked system with high-dimension and small sample size. Researchers have made progress in the design and optimization of network control principles. However, there are few studies comprehensively surveying network control methods to analyze the biomolecular network data of individual patients. To address this problem, here we comprehensively surveyed complex network control methods on personalized omics data for understanding tumor heterogeneity in precision medicine of individual patients with cancer.
