Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has shown promise as a modality for the treatment of cervical cancer caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). This review provides a comprehensive examination of the role of PDT in overcoming the challenges presented by conventional treatments for cervical cancer. Beginning with an overview of the relationship between cervical cancer and HPV infection, the review introduces the principles of PDT, its mechanism of action, and its potential as an innovative treatment strategy. The review highlights preclinical studies in animal models that demonstrate the efficacy of PDT in targeting HPV-infected cervical cells and provide mechanistic insights into its cytotoxic effects. We reviewed clinical studies and case reports highlighting the potential of PDT as an alternative or adjunctive treatment option. Challenges and limitations, including depth of light penetration, photosensitizer specificity, and standardization of protocols, will be discussed in the context of potential side effects and comparison with conventional treatments. Future directions include ongoing research, combination therapies with immunotherapy or targeted agents, advances in photosensitizer development, and personalized approaches. The advancement of PDT promises to change the landscape of HPV-associated cervical cancer treatment by providing a targeted, personalized, and minimally invasive approach.

The aim. To establish the norms of fungicides on the skin surface and predicting the risk of occupational skin pathology in agricultural workers to develop measures to prevent diseases caused by dermal exposure to pesticides. Materials and methods. The natural experiment was performed in accordance with modern requirements (European Food Safety Authority (2022), and the risk assessment was carried out according to the Recommendations (Approved by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine No. 324 issued on 13.05.2009) with different methods of spraying techniques: rod, air blast fan spraying, pre-sowing, aviation, knapsack treatment. 17 series of natural experiments were performed, and the air of the working zone area (n =56) and dermal exposure (n =56) were analyzed for each worker with different pesticide application methods. Quantitative determination of pesticide content was carried out by gas-liquid and high-performance liquid chromatography methods. The results were statistically processed using a package of licensed statistical programs MedStat v.5.2 (Copyright © 2003-2019) and Microsoft® Excel® for Microsoft 365 MSO. Results. It was established that there is pesticide contamination, mainly of the gloves of tank filling operators when preparing working solutions. No contamination of the skin surface was detected; only pesticide residues were present on the surface of the workers’ overalls. A comparison of the exposure dose in case of percutaneous exposure during the performance of technological operations with different methods of processing, dermal equivalents of Acceptable Operator Exposure Level of pesticide to workers’ skin (DE AOEL) and the allowable dermal dose for professional contingents (ADderm) and the hazard coefficients by dermal exposure (HCderm) showed that that dermal exposure during individual technological operations with different processing methods had a reliable difference between processing methods, but there is no difference within one application method. Conclusions. During the comparison of the hazard coefficients for dermal exposure, calculated according to different models, no significant difference was found between the risks calculated according to DE AOEL and ADderm for individual technological operations in various treatment methods, except for the operator who performed knapsack treatment and the risk calculated according to ADderm is significantly lower compared to the DE AOEL risk.

In pediatric intensive care practice, a hypertensive crisis (HC) is an acute and urgent condition with a high risk of damage to target organs and organ failure, requiring emergency treatment aimed at decreasing arterial blood pressure (BP) and minimizing the risk of complications. HC is subdivided into uncomplicated (acute), in which no signs of organ damage are present, and complicated (urgent), with acute organ damage (neurological, renal or cardiac dysfunction). The main triggers of HC are concomitant endocrine disorders, renal impairment, and use of certain medications. The clinical signs of HC are diverse and non-specific, and depend on the age of the child and on the type of HC. Intensive care to children with HC is provided in intensive care units and is aimed primarily at gradually decreasing the patient’s BP (by 25% during the first 6–8 hours). In complicated HC, antihypertensive drugs are administered parenterally, whereas patients with uncomplicated HC may receive the drugs in enteral or sublingual form. The main drugs for intensive therapy of HC in children and adolescents are calcium channel blockers, vasodilators, α- and β-blockers, ACE inhibitors, centrally acting agents etc. Each group of antihypertensive drugs has its own peculiarities of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and dose selection, and its own range of adverse effects and contraindications. Timely recognition and competent intensive treatment of children and adolescents with HC will reduce the risk of complications and improve the therapeutic prognosis of this urgent condition.

Snoring is a sound phenomenon that is often a symptom of more serious condition – OSAS (obstructive sleep apnea syndrome). All patients with complaints of nocturnal snoring, daytime sleepiness, breathing stops in sleep, in addition to the standard otorhinolaryngological examination at the initial consultation should be diagnosed using validated questionnaires, scales to determine the presence of risk of OSAS, according to the results of which a decision is made to consult a -somnologist with further additional examination.The objective of this work was to evaluate the clinical manifestations, concomitant pathology, and complications in patients at the initial visit to an otorhinolaryngologist complaining of the presence of the acoustic phenomenon of snoring.Methods and materials. 304 patients with the diagnosis of rhonchopathy were examined. The inclusion criterion was the presence of the acoustic phenomenon of snoring. All patients underwent computed tomography of the maxillofacial region using contrast technique of the soft palate before radiation diagnosis with the followed morphometry.Results. Analyzing the results of our sample, we come to a clear understanding that each case is very individual and needs a balanced interdisciplinary approach.Conclusions. When choosing the treatment method for rhonchopathy, it is necessary to take into account the patient’s somatic status, BMI, the presence of chronic tonsillitis and other concomitant diseases to choose the volume and method of surgical treatment

Background: Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) is an acute and severe complication of type 1 diabetes that is highly prevalent in children and adolescents. Intravenous (IV) insulin infusion is the mainstay of DKA treatment in the intensive care unit; however, standard-dose (0.1 U/kg/h) insulin infusion increases the risk of cerebral edema.Objective: To compare the efficacy and safety of low-dose (0.05 U/kg/h) vs high-dose (0.1 U/kg/h) IV insulin infusion in children and adolescents treated for DKA. Materials and methods: Our randomized single-blind study included 86 patients aged 5 to 14 years urgently hospitalized with symptoms of DKA. Group 1 comprised 40 children who received IV insulin at the low rate (0.05 U/kg/h), whereas group 2 included 46 children who received IV insulin at the standard rate (0.1 U/kg/h). During the treatment we compared the time to DKA resolution and blood glucose level decrease to 15 mmol/L and recorded cases of hypoglycemia, hypokalemia, and papilledema. The MannWhitney test was used to determine whether differences were statistically significant.Results: There was no difference between groups 1 and 2 in DKA treatment duration. The blood glucose level was found to decline to 15 mmol/L more slowly in children who received IV insulin at 0.05 U/kg/h. Hypoglycemia, hypokalemia, and papilledema were more common in the standard-dose (0.1 U/kg/h) group.Conclusions: The low-dose IV insulin infusion (0.05 U/kg/h) is safer in terms of complications (cerebral edema) associated with pediatric DKA treatment in the intensive care unit and not inferior to the standard recommended dose (0.1 U/kg/h) in efficacy.

In order to address safety concerns related to the acquisition and utilization of TiO2 and TiO2@Ag nanomaterials, as well as to investigate their disinfectant and biological effects, the structural-morphological, morpho­metry, toxicological, cytotoxic, and virucidal properties of these specified nanomaterials have been studied through experiments conducted on laboratory animals and in vitro. It has been demonstrated that the TiO2@Ag nanocomposite exhibited distinct physicochemical characteristics: it consisted of TiO2 nanoparticles ranging in size from 13 nm to 20 nm and Ag nanoparticles ranging from 35 nm to 40 nm with 4.0 wt% of silver localized on the surface of titanium dioxide. The purity of the modification of synthesized nano-TiO2 and nano-TiO2@Ag has been confirmed. Acute intraperitoneal administration of nanopowders revealed LD50 values of 4783.30 mg/kg for nano-TiO2 and 724.44 mg/kg for nano-TiO2@Ag. A slight accumulation was observed upon repeated (28-fold) intragastric administration of nano-TiO2. The cumulative dose administered, which equated to 15.9 multiples of the LD50 (76040 mg/kg), did not result in animal mortality but led to retardation in body weight gain. TiO2 and TiO2@Ag nanopowders do not irritate the skin, induce mild conjunctival irritation, and may exhibit a weak sensitizing effect. Nano-TiO2 and nano-TiO2@Ag powders accumulate in the tissues of internal organs and cause damage to the liver, kidneys, and lungs of laboratory animals upon intraperitoneal administration. The most characteristic morphological signs of the toxic effect of nano-TiO2 on liver tissue were observed at a level of 67.7% (cytoplasmic vacuolization in hepatocytes), while in the case of nano-TiO2@Ag initial necrotic changes were at a level of 70.0% (hepatocytes with pyknotic nuclei). Background. The development of psychological science in the context of educational practice stimulates researchers to seek for a scientific explanation of phenomena that are often used without proper justification. The article is devoted to the analysis of “math anxiety” in an interdisciplinary context. In 2000, the All-Russian conference “Mathematics and Society. Mathematics education at the turn of the century”, organized by academician V.A. Sadovnichy took place in Dubna. At the conference V.A. Sadovnichy convincingly substantiated the growing role of mathematics in the 21st century and the importance of its results and applications not only for specialists, but also in all spheres of society — from theoretical physics and computer technology to the humanities and art history. In this regard, V.A. Sadovnichy pointed out the danger and inadmissibility of pseudo-scientific sophistications and pseudo-pedagogical speculations in the field of the meaning and difficulty of mathematics as a subject of teaching and problems related to it. We will look at one of these pseudoscientific concepts, the so-called “math anxiety,” in this article. Objective. The purpose of this article is to systematize and analyze data on “math anxiety” and critically comprehend this phenomenon. Method. The methodological basis of the article is the cultural-historical, as well as activity-based approaches, developed in line with leading Russian psychology schools of L.S. Vygotsky, A.N. Leontyev, A.R. Luria, P. Ya. Galperin, and others. Results. Developing the ideas of cultural-historical psychology and activity theory in the context of education, Russian psychologists emphasized the special importance of research focused on practical problems related to learning. At the same time, referring to “math anxiety” can distract researchers from the real problems in teaching mathematics and other subjects. The joint efforts of psychologists, teachers, psychiatrists, neurologists and other specialists are important for the successful solution of educational problems. The development of issues of the content and methods of mathematics education, a psychological analysis of the difficulties experienced by both children and teachers, will contribute both to the development of psychological science and to the strengthening of its connections with educational practice.

Today, preschoolers actively use digital devices. Therefore, we investigated how digital devices potentially affect significant predictors of preschoolers’ social-emotional and cognitive development, executive functions, and speech. The results obtained revealed that 5-6-year-old children who used digital devices for less than 1.5 hours per day demonstrated an improvement in cognitive flexibility level within a year, while 2.5 hours of screen time caused a decrease in cognitive flexibility. Passive screen time negatively affects children’s phonemic hearing. Opposite to that, active screen time does not affect it. The study revealed that 5-6-year-old children who usually played digital games and watched video content together with their siblings demonstrated more noticeable positive dynamics in inhibitory control than those who did it alone. Moreover, if it was the parents who determined what digital content would be available to their children, the latter demonstrated an increment in inhibitory control compared to the children who made the choice themselves. Junior school children who used digital devices in a cultural way at preschool age had higher level of executive functions development than the children who used the devices only in a natural way. Thus, digital devices are multidimensional tools and, depending on how they are used, the impact on a child’s development may be different. Современные дошкольники активно используют цифровые устройства. В связи с этим нами были проведены исследования того, как цифровые устройства потенциально влияют на значимые предикторы социально-эмоционального и когнитивного развития дошкольников — регуляторные функции и речь. Показано, что у детей 5–6 лет, использующих цифровые устройства менее 1,5 часов в день, в течение года наблюдалось повышение уровня когнитивной гибкости, в то время как у детей с экранным временем более 2,5 часов в день за год произошло снижение когнитивной гибкости. Пассивное экранное время отрицательно влияет на фонематический слух дошкольников, но активное экранное время на него не влияет. У детей 5–6 лет, которые обычно пользовались цифровыми устройствами вместе с сиблингами, за год произошло более значимое развитие сдерживающего контроля по сравнению с теми детьми, которые делали это обычно в одиночку. Развитие сдерживающего контроля за год было более значимым у тех детей, за которых родители принимали решения о том, в какие видеоигры играть и какой контент смотреть, по сравнению с теми детьми, которые самостоятельно принимали эти решения. Младшие школьники, которые в дошкольном возрасте использовали цифровые устройства как культурные средства, имели более высокий уровень развития регуляторных функций, чем дети, которые использовали цифровые устройства только натуральным способом. Таким образом, цифровые устройства — это многомерные средства, в зависимости от способа использования которых влияние на развитие ребенка может быть разным.

Background. The study of the value-meaning aspect of notions of professional responsibility is due to their potential impact on the efficiency of work and on psychological well-being of a specialist. The analysis of literary sources showed insufficient development of the emotional component of the studied phenomenon. Objectives. The article focuses on carrying out a structural and informative analysis of the views of Internet users on professional responsibility as well as on selecting value-meaning factors from the general context of representations. Study Participants. Users of the social network VKontakte and specialized Internet forums participated in the study. The number of author’s texts analysed was 1010. Each participant submitted one communication, i.e. the number of participants corresponds to the number of texts and amounts to 1,010 people. The total number of messages included 800 texts from the social network and 210 texts from the Internet forums. Methods. The study of ordinary representations of Internet users about professional responsibility is conducted with the help of statistical analysis of word occurrence frequency (PyMorphy2). Classification of the analyzed units (nouns, verbs, adjectives) is made on the basis of statistical processing and expert evaluation, structural elements of the phenomenon of “professional responsibility” and its value-meaning characteristics are shown. The analysis of contingency on the basis of testing with corpus of Russian language dataset RuTweetCorp, based on Bernoulli distribution, neuronetwork model of analysis of emotional background of messages (FastText), neuronetwork model Dostoevsky and dataset RuSentiment. Results. The conducted analysis allowed to present the structure of “professional responsibility”, to reveal cognitive, emotional, and behavioral components. The study identified a fourth meta-structural component, never previously identified by other authors, which is related to the “God” construct. The value-meaning patterns of professional responsibility have been identified and described. The analysis of the emotional background of the messages made it possible to highlight the trend towards negative assessments of the phenomenon of “professional responsibility” at the current stage of society development. Conclusions. The approach proposed in the study allows to reveal the psychological essence of professional responsibility, to highlight the importance of the emotional component in the strategies of acceptance/avoidance of responsibility. The equation of professional responsibility with personal responsibility of a specialist has been revealed, while the notions of national, social, and corporate responsibility are manifested insignificantly. The study of professional responsibility through the value-meaning aspect can become the basis for analysis of social behavior in a person as a whole in the future.

Naturalisation provides not only access to the full range of rights and opportunities that are due to citizens, but also contributes to the formation of a sense of belonging to the host country, which is an important factor in social cohesion. In the globalisation context, migration processes are of particular importance, as the growing number of migrants in many countries necessitates their effective integration. Naturalisation is one of the mechanisms that facilitates the involvement of migrants in the political life of the country, giving them the right to vote and the opportunity to participate in the formation of public policy. The article focuses on the challenges and obstacles that migrants may face during the naturalisation process, including legal barriers, cultural and linguistic differences. Overcoming these challenges is important to facilitate the full integration of migrants into society. Based on an analysis of different naturalisation models, the paper examines how different countries approach the process of migrant inclusion. For example, some countries offer simplified naturalisation procedures for certain categories of migrants, while others require longer residence and demonstration of language and cultural proficiency. It is emphasised that naturalisation is a key factor in ensuring the harmonious integration of migrants into the socio-political structures of the host country. This not only contributes to economic growth and social stability, but also paves the way for a more inclusive and multicultural society. The importance of naturalisation for the political inclusion of migrants also lies in the strengthening of democratic institutions. Migrants who are naturalised as citizens have the opportunity to influence political decisions and elections, which contributes to the representation of diverse groups in political processes. This, in turn, leads to fairer and more balanced governance that takes into account the interests of all segments of society, including migrants. In addition, naturalisation promotes social cohesion, as migrants who become full citizens often feel more responsible for the welfare of the host country. This can stimulate greater volunteer and civic engagement, which is important for the development of a strong and cohesive society. The naturalisation process also has economic benefits.

The authors of the article analyze one of the trends in the criminal procedure legislation of the Russian Federation and neighboring countries, formed in the period of its codification in 1958–1961, which consists in fixing in the texts of laws such categories as the purpose and objectives of this branch of law or the activity regulated by it. The legal techniques used by legislators in Post-Soviet states to reflect these categories in regulatory legal acts are contradictory and sometimes polar. The law and jurisdictional activity are heterogeneous in terms of the subject of legal regulation, and most importantly – in terms of the content of the norms defining their status. Methods: empirical methods of description and interpretation; theoretical methods of formal and dialectical logic; specific scientific methods: legal-dogmatic, comparative legal. Based on the conducted research and the author’s approach to the solution of the problem, the wording of a new structural unit – the article of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation «The Purpose and Objectives of Criminal Procedure Legislation» is formulated, which can be taken into account in the course of forthcoming lawmaking.

For the first time, the influence of a B2O3 additive on Magnesium, Zirconium, and Hafnium fluorides, encompassing their structural and optical properties, was subjected to investigation. The phase composition of the MgF2–B2O3 system was ascertained through the utilization of X-ray phase analysis and infrared (IR) transmission spectroscopy. Notably, a discernible presence of a newly formed phase, characterized as a complex compound of Magnesium fluoroborate (Mg3(BO3)F3), was unveiled. In the instances of the ZrF4–B2O3 and HfF4–B2O3 systems, the modification in the characteristics of IR spectra was attributed to the α → β phase transitions occurring within the respective metal tetrafluorides. Subsequently, thin-film coatings of metal fluorides treated with the B2O3 additive were fabricated employing thermal evaporation under vacuum conditions. It was determined that the refractive index of MgF2 experienced a slight reduction (from 1.42 to 1.41) following the incorporation of the additive, while the mechanical strength exhibited a marginal augmentation. Conversely, the refractive index of coatings derived from Zirconium and Hafnium tetrafluorides, subsequent to heat treatment with B2O3, remained nearly constant at 1.53 across all samples. Additionally, an evaluation of the volatility of the samples was carried out, revealing a slight increase in volatility following treatment with the B2O3 additive, with the exception of the MgF2–B2O3 system. A plausible mechanism elucidating the influence of B2O3 on oxygen-containing impurities present in metal fluorides is proposed.

Abstract The NA48/2 experiment at CERN reports the first observation of the K ± → π 0 π 0 μ ± ν decay based on a sample of 2437 candidates with 15% background contamination collected in 2003–2004. The decay branching ratio in the kinematic region of the squared dilepton mass above 0.03 GeV2/c 4 is measured to be (0.65 ± 0.03) × 10 −6. The extrapolation to the full kinematic space, using a specific model, is found to be (3.45 ± 0.16) × 10 −6, in agreement with chiral perturbation theory predictions.

У цій статті запропоновано інноваційні підходи до зменшення фінансових ризиків, адаптовані до цифрових систем бізнесу та бухгалтерського обліку. Проаналізовано взаємодію між упровадженням цифрового бізнесу й фінансовим ризиком у сучасних системах бухгалтерського обліку; продемонстровано, як такі фактори, як цифрова адаптація, ефективність систем бухгалтерського обліку, інновації та нестабільність ринку, впливають на фінансову стабільність. Використовуючи й кількісні, і якісні підходи, автори виявили, що вищий рівень упровадження цифрового бізнесу пов’язаний із меншим фінансовим ризиком. З одного боку, інновації відкривають нові можливості для зростання, з іншого боку, вони несуть нові ризики, якими потрібно ефективно управляти. У статті показано, що в бухгалтерському обліку вирішальну роль у точності фінансових звітів та управлінні ризиками відіграють сучасні системи, засновані на штучному інтелекті й автоматизації. Автори пропонують стратегічний, технологічний і бухгалтерський погляд на управління фінансовими ризиками. У статті представлено модель, яка може допомогти організаціям ефективніше управляти фінансовими ризиками в контексті цифрового середовища, використовуючи гнучкість і стійкі інновації в управлінні. Це дослідження робить внесок у царину управління фінансовими ризиками, надаючи корисні стратегії, які можуть бути реалізовані організаціями, що працюють у цифрову еру.

Summary: Solvatochromic compounds have emerged as valuable environment-sensitive probes for biological research. Here we used thiol-reactive solvatochromic analogs of the green fluorescent protein (GFP) chromophore to track conformational changes in two proteins, recoverin and the A2A adenosine receptor (A2AAR). Two dyes showed Ca2+-induced fluorescence changes when attached to recoverin. Our best-performing dye, DyeC, exhibited agonist-induced changes in both intensity and shape of its fluorescence spectrum when attached to A2AAR; none of these effects were observed with other common environment-sensitive dyes. Molecular dynamics simulations showed that activation of the A2AAR led to a more confined and hydrophilic environment for DyeC. Additionally, an allosteric modulator of A2AAR induced distinct fluorescence changes in the DyeC spectrum, indicating a unique receptor conformation. Our study demonstrated that GFP-inspired dyes are effective for detecting structural changes in G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), offering advantages such as intensity-based and ratiometric tracking, redshifted fluorescence spectra, and sensitivity to allosteric modulation.

BackgroundIn current literature there are only scarce data on the host inflammatory response during Burkholderia cepacia complex (Bcc) persistence. The primary objective of the present research was to carry out cross-sectional analyses of biomarkers and evaluate disease progression in cystic fibrosis (CF) patients with chronic Bcc infection and pathogen-free ones. The secondary aim was to assess prospectively overall survival of the study participants during up to 8 years of follow-up.MethodsThe study included 116 paediatric patients with CF; 47 CF patients were chronically infected with Bcc, and 69 individuals were Bcc free. Plasma and sputum biomarkers (neutrophil elastase, MMP-8, MMP-9, MMP-12, IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, IL-18, IL-22, IL-23, IL-17, IFN-γ, TGFβ1, TNF-α) were analysed using commercially available kits. Besides, inhibitory effect of dexamethasone on proliferative response of PHA-stimulated peripheral blood lymphocytes had been assessed.ResultsBcc infected patients did not differ from Bcc free ones in demographic and clinical parameters, but demonstrated an increased rate of glucose metabolism disturbances and survival disadvantage during prolong follow-up period. Biomarkers analyses revealed elevated TNF-α and reduced IL-17F levels in sputum samples of Bcc infected patients. These patients also demonstrated improvement of peripheral blood lymphocyte sensitivity to steroid treatment and reduction in plasma pro-inflammatory (IL-17F and IL-18) and anti-inflammatory (TGFβ1 and IL-10) cytokine concentrations.ConclusionsReduction in IL-17F levels may have several important consequences including increase in steroid sensitivity and glycemic control disturbances. Further investigations are needed to clarify the role of IL-17 cytokines in CF complication development. Low plasma TGFβ1 and IL-10 levels in Bcc infected group may be a sign of subverted activity of regulatory T cells. Such immune alterations may be one of the factors contributing to the development of the cepacia syndrome.

IntroductionVisual search is facilitated when participants encounter targets in repeated display arrangements. This “contextual-cueing” effect is attributed to incidental learning of spatial distractor-target relations, which subsequently guides visual search more effectively toward the target location. Conversely, behaviorally significant, though task-irrelevant, negative emotional stimuli may involuntarily capture attention and thus hamper performance in visual search. This raises the question of how these two attention-guiding factors connect.MethodsTo this end, we investigated how an emotionally alerting stimulus induced by different classes of emotional (face, scene) pictures prior to the search task relates to memory-related plasticity. We tested 46 participants who were presented with repeated and non-repeated search layouts, preceded at variable (50, 500, 1,000 ms) intervals by emotional vs. neutral faces or scenes.ResultsWe found that contextual learning was increased with emotional compared to neutral scenes, which resulted in no contextual cueing was observed at all, while no modulation of the cueing effect was observed for emotional (vs. neutral) faces. This modulation occurred independent of the intervals between the emotional stimulus and the search display.DiscussionWe conclude that emotional scenes are particularly effective in withdrawing attentional resources, biasing individual participants to perform a visual search task in a passive, i.e., receptive, manner, which, in turn, improves automatic contextual learning.

The study used qualitative and quantitative methods with the dominance of qualitative methods. It employed the baseline study, checklist to assess students' research papers, assessment criteria, and the Triangular Assessment Method to assess the students' papers. The consensus meeting was held to allow the experts to express their reasoning for the scores. The semi-structured interview was administered to the students' and teachers' to identify their impressions of the reshaped research component of the curriculum of philology. The technological advances incorporated into Philology Studies curriculum improve the students' research skills and the quality of their research projects. Both students and teachers appreciated the reshaped research component of the curriculum. The analytical software can be successfully incorporated in the corpus analysis-purpose student research. The students found the intervention a challenging experience that 'pumped up' their intellectual, research, and technical skills. They reported improvement in interpreting corpus using correlations, frequencies, distributions, and collecting information using software to organise it in a professional way. The lecturers agreed that the technology-based instructional model incorporated into Philology Studies curriculum improved both students' research skills and the quality of their research projects.
